The secret to great pizza is in the crust.

The rumor in New York is that their crust (And bagels) are so good because NY City water is so good.

Well we have some pretty fantastic city in water in Denver too (It comes from a little thing called GOD and the ROCKY MOUNTAINS New Yorkers, how do you like THEM Apples?) and that contributes to some fantastic crust at Anthony's Pizza and Pasta.

I've never had the pasta here. Could it be good? Maybe, but the kitchen here is pretty much a pizza oven and some dudes in t-shirts so I'm going to recommend sticking to the pizza.

It's fantastic NY style pizza, which huge slices which demand to be folded and inhaled.

The atmosphere is VERY collegiate, half the place is booths, the other half is pool tables and pinball machines. The two sides are separated by the kitchen and walls, so you don't have to be annoyed by the sound of frat guys playing pool.

I really prefer to go in and order it by the slice, but their prices on entire pizzas are reasonable.

I've never had a bad experience with the service and I think Benjamin needs a big hug.

Alright, I'm from New England originally and there are a few things you absolutely can not get in Denver

    1) the ocean-obvious but still true
    2) A Philly Cheesesteak-yes there are places that pretend to sell them here but, alas, they only pretend
    3) A decent sub-again, they are sold here but I have no faith in anyone here that makes a sub
    4) New York style pizza-Yep, it's true, all the Italian food and pizza in CO pretty much sucks and, please don't even try to sell me on Maggianos.  Ug. that's just a sure sign that you have never lived anywhere with actual Italians.

Anythony's: congrats!  You win the prize for having authentic pizza that is delicious and in true New York fashion.  Also, I had your chicken parm sub and HELLO-it was the real deal!!!!  I'm sooooo proud.  Crusty, chewy roll with lot's of sauce and cheese.  You guys nailed it!

Solid pizza, polite and timely delivery, delicious garlic bread. Props for a crispy, yet chewy crust (that's not so chewy you end up with TMJ). What more could a girl want from delivery pizza?

The pizza is not terrible, but the service is beyond bad.  I was a customer for over two years of this establishment and ordered on at least a monthly basis.  Every time I would call, I would deal with the long holds and incredibly rude customer service, because I thought I couldn't find better NYC-style pizza in Denver.  Then I found Famous Pizza which is much better.  However, occasionally I would still order from Anthony's.

Until a rainy August evening.  At about 4:45p before DU was in session with no Denver sports teams in action, we were rudely informed that they were too busy to deliver to our area.  The bald-faced lie is just another example of the rudeness and lack of professionalism from Anthony's.  I know I am never giving them my business again, and if you are looking for good NYC-style pizza you should take your business to Famous Pizza, its better anyway.

Much like the other Anthony's Pizza places in town, the slices here are quite tasty.  Being a NYC native, I would have to say that this place is the closest to great pizza as you are gonna get (Benny Blancos was real good too last I checked).  The slices are big and tasy, with or without toppings.

This place is always crowded but they move things around somewhat quickly so grab a beer and chill out.  They have pool tables and a video game and a college-type atmosphere as DU is around the block.

I'd say its a bit pricey, especially for a whole pie but not much more than any other high caliber pizza place.   Check it out!

It's very simple, good NY-style pizza.  I really like the crust and sauce, especially since their sauce is not sweet at all.  But I do get annoyed because every time I order from there it takes an hour to get a pizza delivered even though it's about 8 blocks from my house.

I could walk down there, order a pizza, drink a pitcher of beer, eat the entire pizza, hang out and talk to the manager for a few minutes, order another pitcher of beer, drink that one, then stumble home - all in under an hour.  Maybe I should just try that next time instead.

    GUESS WHAT:

On Mondays and Wednesdays in DU (Evans location), slices and Bud/Bud LIghts are $1.
Their slices are large, crispy, and just plain good to eat.  One would have to make quite the effort to highly dislike this pizza.

    DUH.

We are lucky to have lots of great pizza options in our neighborhood (within walking or delivery distance). For great thin crust it's Basil Doc's; for traditional toppings on an unusual baking soda crust it Bonnie Brae Tavern; for delicious spicy sauce on a thin pie it's Pasquini's - but for a great all around pizza I think that Anthony's is the best. We have been ordering from Anthony's for years and have never been disappointed. The crust is thin, not paper thin but thin enough. It's cooked perfectly and is seasoned enough to be tasty all by it's self - or with honey after the main part of the pie has been consumed.

Anthony's put just enough topping and cheese on to cover the pie without making it a huge gloppy mess. Yummy!

I used to find the service a bit surly, the guy who answers the phone usually sounds like he's either too busy to talk to you or having a bad day. Lately however he sounds a bit friendlier - maybe, unlike the rest of us, his 401K is still intact. The delivery "guy" du jour is always polite and appreciative of the two buck tip we give him. Delivery time is usually within a couple of minutes of what's quoted (45 min to an hour) and the pizzas always arrive hot, if not at least very warm.

All-in-all Anthony's offers a consistent product - in a sea of Pizza joints, it's supreme.

I've come out to Denver three times in the last two years, and I always insist on ordering Anthony's when I'm in town.  My local friends don't raise much of an objection.

This is great New York style pizza.  It's on the expensive side, but I suppose that's a cost of doing business when New York is 1800 miles away.

I love this pizza. Simple and to the point.

I hadn't been here since college, circa 2000, and THIS Anthony's delivers the same amazing pizza they did back then. (Sadly, the one up in Conifer is not as good.)

Sit down at the hi-top, grab a slice of cheese and Bud Light, in nothing more than a plastic cup...and you have a seriously reminiscent meal.

    Love you guys.

    great cheap pizza.

My girl and I had a 12" pizza, turned out about 18" wide. The crust on the sicilian was quite perfect. We had it veggie with roma tomatoes and green bell peppers.cooked well and fast.

    Coming Back!

If your looking for a greasy, burnt, flacid slice of pie, this is your spot. Star #1 is bc well, i think you have to at least give one, but i'll give it a 2nd b/c they serve up sicilian corner slices the size of a house....unfortionately they have no taste, are charred on the crust, and cut the roof of your mouth when you bite into them.

After reading the great reviews I decided to check Anthony's out.  I hate to only give it two stars but I gather you will understand why.  I walked in on a Sunday and a 13 year old disinterested kid took my order.  I ordered a slice of Pepperoni, one piece of garlic cheese bread and a diet soda.  There was a dirty bucket of ice at the register and he told me the fountain ice maker wasn't working.  I paid and went to get a soda and not only was the machine not working but the soda was warm and not carbonated.  Then the kid delivered my my garlic cheese bread and almost dropped it on me and told me they burnt my slice and had another one in the oven.  Now the manager goes to work on the soda machine with an air compressor and is blowing filter dust all over the place as I'm two booths away.  The pizza was good, excellent crust, but it was missing my requested pepperoni.  The kid did give me the piece he burnt and yes it was in the oven too long.  How this happens when I am the only customer is a head scratcher.

great pizza.  thin crust NY style.
Wish they delivered to more areas in Wash Park but going there for pizza is what it is all about anyhow as the pizza is fresh and hot.
    Love it.

Tried the sausage sandwich.  Was good but pizza rocks.
