Glendale, AZ
Took a long walk to get here and meet some friends.
Classy looking place with a great view of the waterfront
from the dining area. Our waiters were all very professional
and were very helpful with their suggestions. Had oysters for
an appetizer. Decent. Decided on the Northwest duet for an
entree. I don't think I ever had a better crab cake. It was so
tender and juicy - melting in my mouth. Wow. I could have
eaten a whole plate of those. The salmon was also very good.
All of this accompanied with delicious Fish Tale Amber Ale.
For dessert I couldn't pass up the Blackberry cobbler. Overall
a great experience. I'd definitely come here again next time I'm
in town. -
Review from Edward N.
I've eaten here maybe three times in my life. Each time was satisfactory. I haven't been nearly as adventurous as I usually am with their menu, and have chosen the "safe" bets, like their cod and chips, or Kobe beef burger. Both are alright, I think Ivar's Restaurant a bit south of here serves better deep fried fish. The burger is nothing to write home about, but it is a quality burger.
The views are nice as well, looking south from the windows you can just about see the entire waterfront, the mountains and more. Pricing is reasonable, although I've yet to eat dinner here. -

First, know, we don't live in the Seattle area; we were visiting last week and very much enjoyed our short holiday in the PNW.
Especially for those venturing here on holiday or business let me only remind: there are very few dining establishments actually at or on the water: Anthony's is one of those few.
We happened in for a late lunch on a weekend without any prior Yelp reviewing. We were not disappointed in the slightest. Table viewing from the upstairs level as well as the main level. Courteous and very efficient staff, great 'happy hour' prices, a wide selection of fish presentations as well as just good ol' soups and salads. Full bar and great beer selections on tap. Wide screens, also, so we could follow the on-the-air games.
Parking is street parking across the street - but we were on our own two feet(s). Highly recommended, again, for the great views of the Seattle waterfront! -

Arguably this could be three stars for the actual quality, but it gets only two because for $35 per entree there are WAY WAY WAY better options here in Seattle. If you MUST eat on the waterfront try Six Seven in the Edgewater instead. (Or if money is no object, Aqua by El Gaucho).
This review is mostly for the tourists because in truth, most foodie Seattlites wouldn't waste their time here because there are so many better restaurants to be had. And - to be fair - I will say that some of the below is influenced by the bad experience we had last night. We have been here on average 3 times a year for the past 4 years and it has never been as bad as last night.
Overall, it feels like Anthony's is just living off their name and location. If the entree were 20 - 25, I'd say this would be a solid 3 star. Even back when it was $27 I felt the view made it worth the while, but with all the entrees at $25 and higher, it is ridiculously over priced for the quality of the food and service.
So here are the pros and cons and you can decide:
PROS: Amazing view. In fact, if you can go just for drinks and maybe apps, it might be great. Arguably the best view of all the restaurants there on the waterfront.
Bread basket - yeah, I suppose it isn't a great sign when a review leads with the bread basket - but they do have some amazing potatoe bread here. No idea where they get it from but it is addictive. And on the plus side the butter is high quality.
Reservation / hostesses - very nice, seats promptly and have the general feel of a higher end restaurant.
The food is fine - this time we both had halibut (one cedar planked, one grilled), but in the past I've had salmon or the crab cakes. It has never been BAD per se but kind of reminds me of hotel food. The mashed potatoes - while edible - tasted like they were made hours before and seemed processed. The halibut itself was a little mushy for my taste. Asparagus was young and perfectly cooked.
Drinks - pricey but well mixed and certainly not watery.
CONS - Price / value. Nuff said.
Menu - boring and never changes. Nothing here for anyone who doesn't eat seafood, and even of the seafood options you have a WAY better selection at Six Seven.
Oh... and don't get the salmon poke. It is vile. The Ahi poke is good though it has a serious amount of MSG.
Service - usually we've had very good service but last night was appalling. 1st - the waiter insulted our guests by directly saying they wouldn't have a good meal because they were only having a bowl of chowder. Only after I gave him MASSIVE stink eye did he try to back pedal and say he was joking.
2nd - some newbie came to our table and started setting up a 5th setting. Um... we aren't expecting anyone else!
3rd - our appetizer arrived as the coconut prawns instead of our poke. It was quickly replaced but just one more example of bad wait staff.
4th - and here I get picky. When in the world in a "fine dining" restaurant does your waiter remove your plates, stack all the flatware on one, then stack the dishes together ON YOUR TABLE? And then proceed to wipe your table with a disgusting rag while leaning over you close enough that you can smell his BO?
Once upon a time they had older wait staff who clearly had experience in better restaurants. Last night it felt like they hired the cast offs from Red Robin.
Net net - spend your money elsewhere and you'll be glad you did. -

A-OK. I was here on a sunny evening with my girlfriend. Truth be told we were on our way to the lounge of a nearby hotel since we enjoy the view and the decoration of the lounge. We like going there to do work and read while having a drink and an appetizer. We walked by Anthony's a few times and always said, "next time we should stop by and check it out."
So next time happened and we walked in. Downstairs patio was crowded as it should be on a sunny day. We went to the upstairs patio and it was quite empty. Part of the reason was that the sun was starting to set and there was a chilly breeze. The other part was happy hour at the downstairs bar-hence the crowded downstairs patio.
The restaurant has a nice upscale, not deutschy, feel. The service is great. The menu was simple with prices to match its upscale feel. We ordered the mussels appetizer and a glass of wine (I was OK with just water). Total was a bit over $16, not including tip. We also got a bread basket and the basket was filled with different tasty breads and crackers. It was yummy. We stayed there for a couple hours doing work and reading until the chilly breeze became more than chilly.
Overall, it is a great place to come have a nicer restaurant experience with a view. Eventhough we did not order an entree by looking around at other customers' orders, it did not look bad. The mussels appetizer was good, the bread basket was great, and the view was good. The view would have been great if it weren't for the cruise ship terminal blocking the northern view of the Sound. -

A solid 3.5 stars.
Located on a waterfront, this place has a bomb ass view from the outside. It's very nicely decorated and has a classy ambiance although you could be casually dressed.
I was unimpressed by the flustered hostess who seemed to be giving me some underhanded attitude because I innocently inquired something. Granted, it was pretty busy, but I've seen other places that have handled situations like these better and those places were not as "classy" as Anthony's claims to be.
Moving on from the negative.
Overall, I don't have anything to complain about food wise. It was all very well prepared and delicious. Quite a feat during such a busy time of their day.Their burger sliders and salmon sliders were delicious. The salmon didn't have a fishy taste to it and wasn't overcooked or anything. I'm genuinely impressed! This dish was my favorite of the night. Their shrimp shooters were fun to eat, their raw oysters and steamed clams were delicious as well.
I wish I could have tried a dessert. -

This is one of my favorite places to take out of town guests.
The food is always fresh and delicious and the view is unbeatable. Sure, it is a little spendy, but I believe everything is reasonably priced (especially if you compare this to some of Seattle's other fine dining restaurants).
Dishes I would recommend: ahi nachos, clam chowder, crab cakes, blackberry cobbler, steak (ironically, Anthony's steak is just as strong of a dish as one of its seafood ones, and for a fraction of the price as what you'd get a steak restaurant)
The wait staff is also friendly. I would give 4 stars instead of 5 only because I've gone a handful of times when it's taken too long to get out food. However, most recently, the service has been prompt. -

We heard about this place from many close friends. I was so eager to take my fiance and impress her from what I heard about this place since my breakfast choice was not a good one at all hahah. We got there around 4pm I think and we were greeted promptly by the host. He explained the difference between the lower level dining and upper level dining. Lower level being for more casual dining and affordable dining and upper being for more classy and more expensive dining. So I was there to impress so you betcha! I took the upper level! It was not a bad decision at all! We got there early so the host upstairs greeted us and said they are not ready but will set up a table for us and if we may wait in lounge till this was done. We sat there for like 8 mins in the mean time we started sipping on some great wine "2009 three legged red wine", OMG it was so good! I had about 3 glasses @ 10$ a glass it was a steal!
We later both ordered Crispy calamari for an app and our main course was prawns with feather spaghetti with marinara sauce. For desert she had a dark chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream and pecans. I had a hot cherry pie with vanilla! So DELISH! Bill was 123$ Left a 25$ tip all in all great service, great food great view, and great idea for a dinner date! Recommended! -

This is a very nice spot for a casual lunch on the pier with friends or family. The lunch menu has a cool focus on fish tacos. The fish tacos come standard with rockfish and a tasty mango salsa, you can upgrade your fish to a mahi mahi or salmon. I ordered the rockfish taco and thought they were good, my girlfriend ordered the mahi mahi and it was noticeably better. The downstairs had a very nice view of the sound and small marina that the large windows seem to frame perfectly.

Ehhh, I would say the food is pretty mediocre. We came here for dinner for a date night, and expected some spectacular-- or just tasty seafood. I got the salmon and he got the mahi mahi tuna. It was both a bit dry and unsatisfying. I'm not sure, but when I think of restaurants on the Pier, I would expect some dazzling seafood that tastes and looks good. While the dishes were presented well, it was bland and tasteless. I really expected better.
The dessert and service was amazing however-- which is why Anthony's still deserves 3 stars. We got the "creme brulee trio" which consisted of three different flavors of, you named it, creme brulee, original creme, mint-blueberry, and ginger. Now I loved all of them except the ginger-- but I've never been a ginger fan (no offense meant). The waitress was very attentive throughout the night and was friendly and everything you look for in a fine dining place.
I would go back to give them another shot-- but probably not for a while or another special occasion. -

We had friends visiting from out of town, last week. So, we ended up taking them to Anthony's Pier 66. My wife's supervisor had been there that same week, and recommended this restaurant because they were running a 4 course dinner for $19.99, if you order by 6pm. Nice way to have a good meal, enjoy the view, and not break the bank.
When we arrived, around 5:30pm, the lower restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated immediately and had our drinks and bread in less than 10 minutes. Our server was a really funny guy, and made the evening that much more enjoyable. It's nice when the wait-person can joke with you, and treat you well, throughout your dining experience in any given establishment.
The menu that we had for their $20 dinner special was nice. There were three different appetizers to pick from... and I went with the Baked Crab, Shrimp & Artichoke Dip. It sounded the most appealing to me, from the three items, but I couldn't get through it. I'm an EXTREMELY picky seafood eater, and I just didn't like the tiny little shrimp that were in this. I did, however, like the baked bread that came with it.
Next was the soup or salad.... and I went with their Anthony's blue cheese house salad, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten a double sized serving of this.
For the main course, I went with the Fresh Seared Lingcod. First off, the only fish that I tend to enjoy is a whitefish. So, I figured that I'd be happy with this. OMG, I was beyond happy. It was such a wonderfully cooked fish. The sauce on top absolutely melted in my mouth. I'd never had Lingcod before... but you bet that I will have it again, and again, and again. My wife had the salmon, and she said it was perfect. I will have to believe her word, because salmon and me do NOT go together..... EVER!
For dessert, we had 3 or 4 options to choose from. I had this delicious dessert, Burnt Cream, which is similar to a Creme Brulee. OMG, it was so good. My wife had their Kahula Chocolate Moose. She loved it. -

My husband surprised me by taking me here for my 25th birthday. He had made reservations and when we arrived I was greeted by name even though the reservation was in my husband's name. I was directed to the bar first and asked what I would like. I asked the bartender his recommendations, and he asked if I liked lemon meringue pie. Because I LOVE lemon meringue, I said go for it. He made me an amazing Limoncello drink with whipped cream vodka. I have to say, one of the best drinks I have EVER had. The waiter took us to our table mid-drink, and when we arrived there was a personalized printed card waiting for is wishing me a happy birthday.
I had had my heart set on Alaskan King Crab, having read on their online menu at the bar that it was one of their specialties, and being a newbie to Seattle, I was super stoked to try fresh Northwest Seafood for the first time since moving here from Southern California. Unfortunately, it was "out of season", despite the menu having just been rewritten in October (it was November when we went).
The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu, and recommended a fabulous appetizer of Hawaiian Ahi Nachos ($12.95). If you love sushi, these nachos are for you. Poke in a pineapple chutney served on taro chips. There are only 6 of them. They were very tasty.
My husband ordered the Fresh Pacific Mahi Mahi ($26.95); seared with mild and sweet Thai curry sauce served with fried rice. My husband had no complaints and said it was delicious. I order the northwest Duet ($34.95), which included Alaska Chinook Salmon chargrilled with sundried tomato-basil butter with a dungeness crab cake with ginger plum sauce and beurre blanc. I chose veggies for my side dish. The plate that arrived was huge, but the portion sitting on it was pitiful. A filet of fish about the size of my palm (I'm a shorty, so I'm not too big...I don't have big palms!), about 1/4 cup of veggies, and a little crab cake. For the price, I had expected more. The salmon, was terribly dry. The veggies, almost to the point of being overdone. The crab cake however, was the most amazing crab cake I have ever had in my life, and I LOVE crab cakes. Moist, full of fresh crab, perfectly seasoned, and made me want to order a side of crab cakes just because.
I ordered another drink after dinner, a ginger infused martini, that when read from the menu sounds absolutely fantastic...and unfortunately I had to send it back after one sip. It was, as I told the waiter, kind of terrible.
For dessert, a delightful surprise was brought to the table compliments of the house. While it was never really explained, it seemed to be a dark chocolate cheesecake, served with a salted caramel icecream, and dark chocolate accents around the plate that said "Happy Birthday Lynn". There was also a northwest folkart Orca sitting atop the cake made out of dark chocolate. Pretty Dang tasty!
Including drinks, our bill was $140 pre-tip. It was the most expensive dinner I've ever had. Our reservations were for 5 pm in late November, so we got to watch the ferries go by in the dark. It was an overcast night so the city lights reflected off the clouds into the water. It was a lovely romantic spot, until the couple that was seated at the table in front of us sat down. They were a little too touchy-feely for my tastes, and were about my parent's age... Yikes! Of all the tables on the side of the restaurant we were on (we were the only ones there), the waiter seated them directly in front of us. Other than that, the atmosphere was lovely.
Good experience, but will only dine here again if its a special occasion. -

This location of Anthony's at Pier 66 is MUCH better than the crappy Anthony's at Golden Gardens/Ballard.
1. pier 66 = classy, updated ambiance vs. ballard = dated, 80s
2. pier 66 = amazingly fast service vs. ballard = super slow
3. pier 66 = quality, delicious food! vs. ballard = soggy, stale, icky food
4. pier 66 = amazing location w/ great view vs. ballard = okay view
I ordered the citrus glazed wild salmon salad and it was AMAZING. Fresh, grilled salmon on a bed of lettuce, raspberries, hazelnuts, red beet slivers, and avocado. Perfect, healthy lunch.
Would definitely come back. -

I had my wedding rehearsal lunch here and overall it turned out great. Pier 66 isn't normally opened for lunch, but with a party of 60, they opened up the top restaurant with the view of the Sound for us (with a minimum food & bev tab, of course).
Making arrangements for my lunch was fairly easy, and Eloah was responsive via email, although she only returned emails in the evening because she worked the dinner shift, which is understandable. She put together a preset menu, based on my budget and what food was seasonal and available. They also created menus with our wedding logo at the top.
On the day of my rehearsal lunch I was completely stressed out and on edge. Luckily, everything at Anthony's went smoothly and my guests had a great time! The food, drinks and dessert were delicious, but even more memorable, was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff! With the open kitchen, even the cooks greeted us from behind the counter. Anthony's was a great choice and I would definitely have an event here in the future. -
Review from Leigh C.
I used to really like this place... so much so that for my high school graduation, my parents paid for 30 of our relatives and family friends to have dinner with us to celebrate. I have not been here in a couple of years, but the other weekend my mom, daughter, and I stopped by after a fun day at the aquarium.
The service was terrible. After the waitress took our order, I didn't see her again until it was time to bring our check. And I cannot stand waitresses who try to memorize everything because most of the time, they forget. Our appetizers never came and maybe if she or ANYONE had passed by our table, we could have brought it up soon enough for them to correct the problem, but nope. All she had to say when she brought our check was "Oh."
I was so annoyed that I didn't even want to stay for dessert. I used to love their cobbler, but I don't even know if they make that anymore. I will say though, that Anthony's has always had a damn good burger (overpriced, but good), which thankfully was still the case during this last visit... but sadly, everything else has really just fallen off. -

Oh no :( This is not the Anthony's I remember as a child. I am giving two stars because compared to the cost of the meal, the quality of the food was very low.
A friend and I wanted to have a bite after class last week and decided on Anthony's because we both remembered it to be delicious. She got the fish and chips which ended up being soaked in grease and almost unbearable to eat. I got the fish tacos which were sadly very bland. I had to ask for sides of avocado to try and make it more flavorful. The taco had some cabbage and a piece of fish in it with nothing else. Very disappointing. -
Review from Jenna H.
I ate here for lunch because it was across the street from my hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a seafood fan except crab, and this place only had fish options. I was with co-workers, so I got the mahi mahi fish tacos with fries hoping it wasn't too fishy tasting...and it wasn't! It was very good! The sauce on the tacos is house-made and refreshing. It's very small and you order then sit down, but it's on the water with great views all around!

Review from Regina S.
This particular Anthony's is located in the tourist mecca, near the market place, and the cruise ships. We were blessed with a clear 70 degree day, so sitting outside was a priority for us and the comfy, spacious, table settings were ideal for watching the ferries and marveling at the distant snow covered peaks of the mountains.
At this point I could have been fed bird seed and I still would have been happy. Since we just got off the bus so to speak, i wanted to try something local, and of course seafood is KING in this neck of the woods.
The three of us decided to split some grilled oysters and some fish tacos: halibut, salmon and ahi tuna. The only reason the oysters were a disappointment, is that they were not cooked through and still had that raw, gelatinous feel. To make matters worse, they were jumbo sized, so saucing them did little to defray the unappetizing taste and texture. I am sure some aficionados of this bivalve would have been overjoyed with this dish, but not moi.
The tacos were delicious. Everything was fresh, from the vegetables, the tortillas to the fish. We asked our waiter for a side of avocado and he happily obliged bringing a generous serving for us to share. Would these entrees win awards? No, but the setting, the weather, the service, tasty food, and the company sure made for a very enjoyable afternoon. -
Review from Lacey R.
Went here on a night when it was raining, so unfortunately the views weren't as spectacular as they could have been. However the service and food more than made up for it.
I had the most amazing, biggest crab legs I have ever had in my life. Literally the size of my forearm, juicy, and just amazing. I barely needed the melted butter with it!
A flourless chocolate cake followed the crab legs, and it was decadent. Truly melt in your mouth good, and I found myself scraping caramel sauce and sea salt off of the plate with my finger.
I = classy. -

Anthony's was a really nice restaurant inside. Big comfortable seats. Nice warm tones. We were presented with a limited prix fixe menu because there were a lot of people in our group. For a salad I chose the Northwest Seasonal Salad - Seasonal greens tossed with citrus shallot dressing and finished with Danish blue cheese, candied pecans, and red flame grapes. One of my favorite savory/sweet salads.
For my entree I was debating. We could choose Pacific King Salmon, Alaska Red King Crab Legs, or Double R Ranch Filet Mignon with Garlic Prawns. I didn't think I wanted the steak.. so salmon or crab? Salmon or crab? Salmon was more of an every day food and you can get it anywhere. So, king crab it was!
When the crab was served... wow... the legs were so big! I couldn't even wrap my hand around one of the joints. And when I pulled the meat out? I don't think I've ever seen a piece of crab meat that big. Out of curiosity, I asked our waiter how many ounces of crab meat each serving was and he said "15 ounces, just under a pound." Holy crap!
The king crab legs were served with garlic mashed potatoes that were topped with fried onions (omg) and asparagus. This was all soooooo good. And so much crab.. I am so ashamed to say that I couldn't eat it all. I was so stuffed! Normally you order crab and it's so much work and not a lot of payoff. This time the payoff was so huge, I wasn't even up to it!
For dessert I got the Dark Chocolate Victory Cake - Flourless bittersweet chocolate with homemade caramel sauce, Olympic Mountain dulce de leche ice cream, peppercorn pecans, and seat salt around the rim of the plate. Wow. Again with the savory/sweet that I love! This dessert was so delicious. Too bad I was so full of crab, I could not even manage to eat half of it!
Anthony's Pier 66 really exceeded my expectations. For some reason I thought it was going to be some kind of cheesy, touristy place that rides on it's view and location. But it really was a classy place. Our waiter was really great and the food was so delicious. -
Review from Art Y.
This is a tourisy area and so, be expecting tourisy service. If you can get a windows seat overlooking the water, it is quite a nice dining experience. Evening dining is nice when the lighting is on in the water.
The best experience is summer time dining when the sky is blue and the boats are all docked, gulls flying ... it is a gorgeous place to dine. It can make you feel therapeutically revived if you eat during the non-peak hours.

This place was awesome.... the service, food, view, etc was all great. The clam chowder is on par with Monterey, CA (best I've had), had the crab alfredo which was really thick and rich and really filling. One of the best seafood meals I've had in a long time.

deep ... sigh ...
I called this place about a 3 days ago - asking about getting a great seat with a view for Mother's Day. My mom has yet to experience the vast beautiful view Seattle has to offer on a day that is clear and sunny. The waitress said that she will do her best to get us a seat with a view. I said that would be fine. I called the day of to confirm our reservations and slipped in a small mention of the need for a view and how excited I was that it was pretty out for a place with a great view of the water. They agreed.
Showed up.... the the view of a HUGE CRUISE SHIP. That's it. NO WATER... I would like to think that they would have mentioned that. NO seats had a view... the disappointment begins.
Utensils were dirty...
The waitress comes to our table and starts laughing... my mother now feeling awkward asked her why, she stopped and said nothing. Awkward. I try to change the topic - ... asked about what she recommends - its 2:00pm and she said the Waffles... ooookkkaaay.
Later on after I finish my vodka cranberry I go to have a sip of water and my mother stops me - there are things floating in it... sigh. I asked the waitress for a new water - and her reply is "what is that not enough ice or something..." sigh - no I explain there is something in the water.
Won't be back... that sealed the deal. -

Hands down best restaurant in downtown. Be ready to spend a little more than other places in downtown, but it will blow you away. It's not pretentious at all, but the atmosphere is elegant. The service is outstanding. Our server was not just there to bring the food to our table. He made conversation, made sure we had what we needed, was very funny, and engaging.
I ordered salmon, salad, and for dessert had an espresso float (which was to die for!). The salmon was the best I'd ever had. It was cooked to perfection and worth every dollar. The view of the waterfront, and the skyline was the icing on top of the cake. I work at a hotel in Seattle, and always recommended Anthony's at pier 66 to anyone going downtown. They have the whole package! -

Okie dokie...
It was so gorgeous on Saturday that the hub, my mama, and I decided to take the mini hero for a walk through the Sculpture park and down the way to Elliott Bay Park. It was divine - what a day. And what a long freaking walk it turned out to be. We were f'ing starving by the time we got back out to Pier 70, and the mini hero was fit to be tied. In fact, this was an occassion that I was really wishing that it was socially acceptable to hog tie one's child. But that's a story for another day.
We decided to head down Alaskan Way to Anthony's - I had visions of chowder dancing in my head. We finally arrived after a torturous trek through cruise passengers' comings and goings to find that there was a 15 minute wait. I damn near cried - mini hero was doing that thing where he becomes completely flat and you have no way of getting hold of him.
Thankfully a table was ready a little sooner than was originally predicted. We were seated with crayons and a coloring menu - small favors. The booth was by a window with a larger than life view of a Fun Ship and the bench was low enough that crazy boy was able to sit at the table with us - we used the highchair as a threat only. At least the psychotic toddler episode was abated.
Things were going well until the ten minutes had passed since we put our drink order in. It was at that point that my mouth finally dried completely up and fused shut. Very uncomfortable. Thankfully my Diet Coke came within a couple of minutes after that and I was able to rehydrate my bouche.
We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla for an appetizer, and the grilled cheese for the kid to come at the same time. Hub ordered the Salmon Tempura, my mama the Seafood Chop Chop and I the Crab Spinach Salad/Cup of Chowder combo.
The quesadilla would have been great if it had shown up ten minutes earlier than it did and was still HOT. Quelle bummer... We were a little worried that the plate and sandwich would be too hot for the mini hero - unneeded, it was stone cold. He didn't care - lucky for them because he is quite the little ass kicker.
When our entrees showed up more disappointment for the hub - mom and I were fine since ours were cold (the chowder was plenty hot, I would imagine it was pulled out of a pot right before everything was carried to the table). His tempura was soggy - but he did love the slaw on the side.
So I guess the lesson is this - maybe this is not the place to visit in the high season with cruise ships and their chattel running all over the place. Maybe you want to come when they haven't recently hired a bunch of seasonal staffers? The food should have been good - it was the service that was really in need of some help.Listed in: Stuff that SUCKS

The Mister and I had the pleasure to attend a private event at this Anthony's location, and had a wonderful experience.
From the moment we entered the restaurant until we said goodbye, everything was topnotch. From the outstanding, warm, and professional service, jumping (not literally, of course) onto a carefully selected row of Washington wines, they put the cherry on top of the Sunday by offering us fabulous hors d'oeuvres.
I want to spend some time describing these hors d'oeuvres. Most of them were interpretation of classic items. They swirled around with trays of sweet sesame crackers with tuna tartare (the crackers were a-d-d-i-c-t-i-v-e), crunchy endives filled with fresh, plump Dungeness crab, and pork open-sliders with a bun so soft it melted on ones tongue.
All were fantastic.
I also learned that Anthony's is now offering cooking classes for children 9-12 years of age, through their "Anthony's Cooking Academy for Children." Of course, I have a soft spot for those who make time to teach kids something useful and fun like....aspiring to become a chef! (Plus, parents might find this very convenient on the long run, hehehehe).
Once again, I have to mention their service. It's a treat to go out in Seattle and experiment world-class restaurant service. You will at Anthony's. Enjoying the breathtaking view of the Puget Sound, while your warm, knowledgeable and smiling server contributes with a great experience is priceless.
For me, the most important part of Anthony's is that is a local, family-owned group of 16 restaurants, always willing to offer the best products of our region. We got to meet some of the wonderful people involved in making people's experience at Anthony's a very good one. It was refreshing to see how much they love doing so.
¡Muchas gracias, Anthony's! -

Anthony's never disappoints, though I have to admit, it's gotten a bit boring for me after twice-annual visits for 8+ years now.... but that's my fault, since I don't like much seafood and always get the same thing!
The view here is spectacular and if you ask nicely when you call ahead to make your reservation (you are calling ahead, right?) :-) you can get a window table, most likely. The service is really good too, with several of the servers having been with the restaurant for many years. There's one waiter who is half Makah that I've had interesting whaling conversations with, and I like to get him, because he's just simply flawless (other than supporting tribal whaling!)
The alder-planked salmon will never disappoint. My daughter LOVES their steamed clams, and my seafood-loving (stay with me here LOL!) former uncle-in-law loves the fresh tuna that they often have.
Your out of town guests will be sufficiently wowed and your bank account won't be completely empty, especially if they go easy on the alcohol and desserts, both of which are really good if they do choose to indulge. The creme brulee trio gets my vote, but they always have creative desserts that use local berries and produce, too, and every one we've tried has been tasty and interesting.
The restaurant is always sparkling clean and the restrooms are delightful... the individual toilet/sink stalls, complete with real towels for hand-washing, and the glorious hand-blown glass sink in the main room make this a must-visit treat even if you don't need to use it!
Really, Anthony's food is not that incredible, but as with everything else here, they pay attention to ALL of the details and make just a little bit of extra effort so that your evening will be memorable. It's no Canlis, but it's certainly not Old Spaghetti Factory either, and jeans are still OK though it would be nice if you'd put on a real shirt instead of the ratty t-shirt you wore sailing. LOL
Valet parking eases that issue. Don't miss out on Anthony's... and this location is the best one, both for the view and the food.Listed in: My funny reviews, Drunk and disorderly, Office Lunch Downtown

Friday night I got to pick where to go to dinner and I picked Anthony's. OK I picked it because my friend was working there but also because I wanted a nice meal and I got what I wanted.
The warm bread they serve is to die for I had a piece and it melted in my mouth it was so delicious. For dinner I went for the Ahi and OMG talk about wonderful. It was served on rice with a with fresh ginger sauce, pineapple chutney and Asian slaw and I could not get enough of it nor could I get it to my mouth fast enough. The boy went with the Mahi which was cooked in a Thai like spicy, sweet and sour sauce. He enjoyed his very much and we were both glad with our picks for the evening. I loved mine, he loved his which was good because than I didn't have to share.
I was stuffed but wanted dessert too and since we couldn't decide on one to share we both got our own. I went with the burnt cream and it is now my favorite burnt cream of any where and every where I've had it. The boy went with some dark chocolate thing with raspberry sauce on it, it was good but not nearly as amazing as my burnt cream.
We sat in the bar so that my friend could stop in and chat for a bit between seating people and the service in the bar was great and the boy was able to sit and watch the Sonic's game while my friend and I chatted with each other. It was great go if not for dinner for the burnt cream. -

Anthony's occupies a very specific niche in the hierarchy of seafood restaurants. It is, essentially, a restaurant for those who demand better quality seafood than is served at Red Lobster, but are still not what would qualify as adventurous eaters.
Confused? Think of where you might take relatives visiting from the fly over states, who really want to eat seafood in Seattle, but their idea of fine dining tends towards Olive Garden and you want to expand their horizons without making them TOO uncomfortable. Plus, you have to satisfy Grandma, cousins, and cousin's kids. I think Anthony's shines in that regard, being able to cater to a wide demographic - beautiful views, nice interior, crayons and a coloring menu for the kids. The wait staff here is pretty awesome as well - they're old pros at table side banter to entertain and entice customers. My most recent outing here included a pair of 6-year-olds, and our waitress was amazing. She understood the demands of dining out with children (mostly, getting in and out before they get tired and subsequently whiny), and largely thanks to her there were no problems.
The seafood I've had there has been cooked well, which is good, because anything else at a seafood restaurant is unforgivable... but the sauces and flavors are just so unrepentantly bland. For example? The menu lists a dish with mussels and mashed potatoes in a curry sauce. There's so little curry and spice in it that it tastes like mussels and mashed potatoes in a cream sauce. Nice, but not what I ordered. The weak flavor probably a result of trying to cater to too many tastes - wouldn't want Grandma to burn her tastes buds on the curry. On the plus side, the clam chowder wasn't too bad.
So, overall, while Anthony's isn't the sort of place I go to on my own, if someone from out of the area wants to go, by all means - especially if they're paying.Listed in: Date Night!

I wasn't too entranced with this Anthony's. Though the decor is really pretty, that's about the extent of the "good" here. Perhaps we weren't given good service since we were clearly twenty-somethings and not wearing business suits.
The bread is $1.95, and will serve two people if neither really like bread. Service was verrrrrrrrry slow, though the place was nearly empty when my friends and I were there. In fact, though I'm not sure if this was due to the slow service or the kitchen's performance, one of the dishes we'd ordered was entirely icky. My friend had ordered the chowder in a bread bowl with a caesar salad. The chowder was cold to the touch, and the salad was warm, limp, and wilted. It was like a bizarro version of the actual way it should have been served.
Let me put it this way: the other day, a friend and I stomped all over downtown and belltown and ended up wandering along the waterfront. We were both starving and thirsty at this point, and we saw Anthony's. We actually went in and were seated, but then, after probably twenty minutes of neglect, decided to just find a coffee shop along Elliott instead. -

People can say what they want about Anthony's Pier 66, but no matter how the Seattle cuisine scene evolves, I keep them on my short list.
Why? Pretty simple.
It's not for innovative cuisine or experimental chefs
It's not for hip decor and stylish clientele
It's not because of some hot tip on Chowhound or Yelp
It's because they are right on the water, with a great outside patio for warm summer evenings where you can watch the sun set and the city begin to glow. You can watch the twinkly lights of the ferries as they come and go on their runs to deliver people to their destinations around the Sound. You can tourists and locals stroll along the adjacent boardwalk as the gulls fly overhead.
AND...their food, while not the most amazing that Seattle has to offer, is well prepared and, frankly, delicious. My wife Katy and I shared an order of absolutely delectable Alaskan Salmon Poke last night as we sat and soaked in the sunset with our 14-month-old son Aidan sleeping peacefully in his stroller. We sipped our Mojito and Bitters with Sparkling Water and gazed into each others eyes and had a simply wonderful experience.
While Anthony's decor and cuisine are not necessarily the draw, their setting, competent service, and well-prepared and delicious food and drinks make this a romantic evening destination that's worth a visit. -

This isn't much of a review, or maybe it's two reviews in one, or maybe it's just a rant. Anyway, here it is.....
We walked into Anthony's looking for a beer one afternoon. Apparently we overshot the bar and inadvertently sat ourselves in a booth in the regular dining area. One of the staff came over and informed us rather coldly that this was not the bar area and we had to go back to the reception desk and have them seat us properly. We looked around the utterly empty restaurant and wondered WTF difference it could possibly make. "Miss Cheerful" had already stomped off , so I went to "check in" with the hostess. On the way I made a quick stop at the men's room, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last goatherders convention hit town. Out in the reception area, no less than FIVE servers are standing around talking about their manicures. Apparently none could be bothered to throw us a frickin' drink menu. We left.
We wandered down the waterfront a ways and found ourselves at another restaurant, appropriately called "Waterfront". They looked like they were just getting set up for the night, but when we inquired we were greeted with a "Sure! C'mon in! Sit anywhere you like and someone will be with you in a minute." And they were! Five minutes later we're sipping cold Stellas at an outdoor table with a postcard view of the Sound. Didn't eat anything, but the appetizers I saw sure looked inviting.
I think you can guess which of these places will be getting my business in the future. Service matters, folks. -

Oh. Parking sucks, too. -

I've always been satisfied with the food and service here.
The last time i was here i had a craving for oysters and tried the oyster sampler and each one was fresh and delicious and whoever shucked our little shelled friends did an awesome job with no bits or pieces to pick out.
I also had there american kolbe square steak and it was cooked perfectly!
Seriously, for how generic this place can feel they still do a good job with the chow. -

We came here for cocktails and appetizers one sunny Seattle day. Nothing cheap about it but you just have to appreciate the view from the outside decks. A good time was had by all!

A friend and I spent a seemingly cloudy Sunday morning walking along the trail at Myrtle Edwards Park, took in the overrated vistas at the Olympic Sculpture Park, and by noon we were frying from the heat. Only in the Pacific Northwest can you wake up to a completely overcast sky and by lunchtime have a new tan.
Since we were on the waterfront, like all the tourists, we decided to grab a drink and a bite at Anthony's Bell Street Diner. We were seated promptly outside, which was nice (save for the view of the giant cruise ship). We ordered a drink a piece, then took the waiter's advice and shared the crab cakes. They were perfect crab cakes, with a plum sauce and a butter sauce, served with a nicely salty rice and a cabbage salad. Tempted by the sun and the dessert menu, I got peach ice cream with fresh raspberries on top, while my friend ordered their signature dessert: blackberry cobbler.
It was all nice, fairly prompt, and tasty, but my paltry stars are for the bill. $35 a piece with tax and tip....not quite what I was expecting for a drink and a bite. Next time I'm wandering along the waterfront looking for a simple way to satisfy my palate, I'll head somewhere that the cruise ship refugees aren't the target audience. -

I'm suprised by the mixed reviews for Anthony's. I have never had a bad meal here. I have eaten upstairs once, when I had friends in town and the view, service and food were all phenomenal.
I have also eaten downstairs on several occiasions - the service isn't quite as good and there is a better chance you'll be seated by a crying child, but the food is just as great.
I always get either the salmon poke appetizer (just the right portion) and the ceaser salad or the crab cakes in two sauces. Husband gets the fish and chips and its always great.
And on more than one occaision, when we have been there in the winter we have gotten coupons for big discounts off our next meal. Woohoo.Listed in: Crab addict!

Beautiful views, yummy seafood, gobs of other options and validated valet parking - what's not to love?
I usually recommend this place when I have a big group of people or out of town guests (alternate this place and Ray's, honestly). Never been disappointed or had anything resembling a bad experience. Nothing too fancy about the decor anymore, or innovative about the menu, but neither of those are required when everything else is done right.
There are a bunch of other Anthony's, and I've only been to this one and the one in Ballard. I think I like this one a little better, but that's because I'm a snob and downtown is better than Ballard, IMHO.Listed in: Downtown Seattle
