Anthony, it pains me to have to tell you this. As much as I love you I cannot ignore this any more.… Read more »
Oh Anthony's....
You know... I just don't get all the hype. I can't lie. I mean, your pizza is good. Don't get me wrong. But I can't seem to finally embrace this burnt pizza phenomenon.
I was here a couple of Saturdays ago with the BF. He had an event across the street at his job and I had chosen to leave my car overnight. On Saturday when we returned for the car, we decided to go stop across the street to have some pizza.
We ordered a white pizza with prosciutto. It would have been so much better had the cook placed the prosciutto on the pizza AFTER the pizza was cooked. But let me set the record straight... Burnt prosciutto is NO good. :( It's kinda rubbery. The rest of the pizza was tasty and the bf ate the prosciutto as it was. I chose to just pick it off my slices.
Overall just an OK experience. The service was decent, but nothing spectacular. We ran out of water at one point and the place wasn't even packed.
Ehhh, not sure I'll return, but I'm not knocking it either. I guess it's just my personal taste.
Best to you,
SabrinaAnna*
Carpe Diem!
When my mother-in-law mentioned yesterday that she was craving pizza and that maybe one of these days we could order it, I decided to seize the moment and order the pizza right then and there! There is really no reason to put off ordering pizza, especially when we you can order pizza from the new Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza right down the street.
I ordered a large cheese pizza and drove over to Anthony's. It took me about 5 minutes to get there and 5 more minutes to wait for the pizza- not bad at all! I noticed that this location has a LOT of seating in comparison to the Pinecrest location. I wonder if it gets as full though? There were only 2 tables seated when I arrived at 1:30PM.
I took the pizza back to the in-laws and we dug in. The pizza was delicious! I absolutely love their well-done crusts and the quality of cheese and tomato sauce was fantastic. The quality of ingredients really does make all of the difference when comparing a good pie to a "meh" pie.
Although this isn't my local Anthony's, I'll definitely order from here again when in the area :)
I recently had pizza from Anthony's and it was enough to say......PARTY IN MY MOUTH!!!!
Wow! The pizza is soooooo good! Can't say I've tried anything else on the menu but I can say that if they follow the same standards as they do for their pizza....they have reached success! I recently had the meatball and ricotta cheese pizza. The edges are slightly burnt but keep in mind their slogan "our pizza is well done". This it is so don't expect anything other than that. The ingredients are fresh. I also had focaccia bread sprinkled with rosemary....the herb not the person!!! What else can I say....good pizza and excellent ingredients.
This pizza is well done! I love the fact that they put ricotta on their pizza, makes it a little different! The Paul and Ron pie< has meatballs, sausage, sweet peppers, and ricotta cheese making it one of my favorites. Thank you Paul and Ron for exposing me to this slice of heaven!
It's always been hard to compare Miami Pizza to the benchmark of New York. It's more than just the water and quality of ingredients, it's also in the very oven in which it's been cooked.
Coal fired Pizza was virtually unheard of here, up until recently. Most people become befuddled by the very mention of coal, the usual response is "We have coal down here??"
So what's the big deal with coal anyway? HEAT. It allows the pizza to cook quickly and make it nice and crispy. Although some don't like it, the charring gives the crust an added dimension of flavor you just can't get in an electric oven.
My favorite pie so far has been the Paul & Young Ron with sweet pepppers. The combination of ricatta cheese, sweet peppers, tomato sauce, and meat balls have the perfect balance of flavors.
Although I give this place and all the other Anthony's I've been to around town five stars, I have to give the wings the thumbs down.
I wasn't very impressed by the wings, they sound good on paper but the execution falls short of my expecations. It's like ordering Indian food in a Thai resturaunt.. it doesn't work.
All in all, I think we finally have something that comes close to some of the best from up north. I just hope it stays good a long time to come.
I really don't understand what's the whole hype about this new place. I tried it last week with my coworkers and it wasn't a big deal. Actually mine was burned around the edges and the knifes weren't the right ones to actually be able to cut it!.
The menu is quite small with not too many toppings to add.
Not enough appetizer choices and only one dessert?
I dont know...I've had better.
But the service was good, our waitress was really nice...although some of the other ones looked like they were bored out of their mind!
Wow! This pizza was SO good. After reading some reviews on different Anthony's locations, I was afraid to end up with a burnt pizza, but this pizza was FANTASTIC!! We went with a traditional with pepperoni. The crust was crisp and slightly charred, not burnt. The sauce was flavorful and the amount of cheese was just right.
The service was great too. We got here during the busy lunch hour and were seated within 2 minutes. I really can't complain about my experience, it was just great. I have found a new lunch time spot!
Its opening night! We're here! Its packed! It's good! I love Anthony's. Their pizza here is good as ever.
We their salad is good - add the Gorgonzola cheese, it's worth it !
Their Chicken wings are awesome - although not spicy hot
The Pizza is unbeatable in South Florida - we prefer the Peperoni, Mushrooms, Olives and Onions - YUM !!
5 Stars ! Well deserved - Life is Good with Anthony's Pizza
AMAZING!!! Simply AMAZING!
I'm not a pizza lover but this place has totally converted me! Believe me, I've tried many, many pizzas over the years. Spris has awesome pizza too but this place is just THE BEST!!! I'm so glad they opened one near our apartment because it is truly the best pizza I've ever had!
We had the Paul & Young Ron and the eggplant pizza. The Paul and Young Ron comes with either sweet peppers or spicy peppers, so of course, my bf decides to get the spicy peppers. Both times we've gotten it, the peppers have defeated his stomach. But he says its worth it because the pizza is, oh so good!
The place is really nice too. I love the decor. All the old movie stars...just awesome!
Thank you Carla. I can credit the discovery of Anthony's to you! My bf and I are eternally grateful!
Ok, so I knew going in that the pizza would be pretty fantastic since I'd been to the one in Aventura and was always satisfied. I am a Chicago veteran so I generally enjoy my pizza thick, cheesy and with the sauce on top. BUT you can't deny a good thin crust. And this, my friend, is a GOOD thin crust. There are signs everywhere warning customers that the pizza is "Well Done" and it's true. I don't LOVE burnt pizza, but the part that burns is at the tip of the crust, so the best part is perfectly cooked.
I've heard complaints about the menu since it's short and sweet, and to that I say go to Cheesecake Factory if you want an endless menu. But I didn't go to Anthony's for 10 pages of Americanized international cuisine. Anthony's is for PIZZA! And that's what they have! I wish they had pineapple as a topping, but it's not about the toppings... it's about -- well you get the idea.
The salad, I've heard, is delicious. I had it the other day and it was not great, but I'm going to attribute it to a bad day since I like everything else I've tried. But again, I didn't go for the salad -- I went for the pizza. And this pizza is close to the best in Miami.
I would like to emphasize that the service is the best -- I repeat THE BEST -- I've encountered in Miami. And I don't just mean at this location -- it's ALWAYS great. And good service is sometimes quite hard to come by... so don't go for the salad, or the wings, or sandwiches. Go for the service and, once again, the PIZZA!!!
First time going to an Anthony's. Great product they have going.
Salad: good stuff. I'm a fan of olives and red onion.
Pizza: pretty great, had the meatball ricotta.
Atmosphere: Turn down the music! It was just way too loud.
Waitress looked alot like megan fox. Service was fine.
I'd rather have coke out of a fountain, but it's not abig deal (they have 16 oz bottles), just a strange preference of mine.
Sucks to be Archie's, these guys are going to take away a good deal of business.
It's not the best pizza I've had, but it was definitely good. I h ad the PAul and Young Ron pizza with sweet peppers. The chicken wings were ok, I probably won't order them again. I expected a fountain coke, I had the "wtf" look when the waitress brought me a 16 oz. bottle.
The service was great, I would def go again. I do hear that other locations are much better than this one...
I recently had to check this place out since I drove by the grand openign sign everyday... I had actually never heard of Anthony's Pizza before but I was really please with the Quality, portions and service. I must agree with another comment that the SERVICE is one of the best I've gotten in Miami. Fast, helpful to make recommendations, and friendly. I was a little dissappointed with the salad... wish it had less lettuce and more topping but i did go there for the pizza and it was crispy, thin, and very tasty. DEFINITELY top 5 PIZZA places in Miami. Prices are also very moderate. =) The atmosphere is very family-style.
definitely good pizza! i tried the white pizza & i wasn't let down.
the pizza is done just right- thin & perfectly crisp.
one of the better pizza places, i must say. oh! but they really do need new knives
i liked the decor.
the service was good.
the pizza was tasty but a bit burned underneath.
$16 for a small pie felt a bit steep for me.
and if you go, please complain about the knives. butter knives to cut pizza? really?
I had heard a lot about this place but I don't venture up to Broward County all that often. They finally opened the first location down in Pinecrest and I felt like kicking myself for not going sooner. I had the White Pizza with proscuitto and the chicken wings as well. My wife and I, definitely loved the place. The service was quick and the the server was very friendly and gave suggestions based on our likes and dislikes.
I'm a pizza lovah so didn't think twice when the bf suggested Anthony's for lunch. He had heard about it on Paul & Young Ron (I'm a Howard Stern fan personally) and seemed pretty excited. We went to the one in Doral, which I figure must be a fairly new location. The restaurant was half full for a Sunday and the service was pretty slow. We were going to order beer but decided not to when our server told us they only had bottles so we went with cokes (which were in plastic bottles too, must be so new they don't have a fountain machine yet) So of course we ordered the Paul and Young Ron Pizza and a tomato and mozarella salad to start. The pizza got there before the salad, the server said the "salad lady" had forgotten to make the order. (hmm, ok) Signs everywhere said the pizza was "well done" which I didn't think meant CHARRED. The Paul and Young Ron was alrite, don't think I would get it again, too many flavors that seemed to clash. And then when I finally got the salad had a pile of grilled green peppers on top that I wasn't too very fond of. The bf was a fan, but I think I would prefer greasy Casola's any day.
