This place has never disappointed me! Good food at good price & they make the best honey walnut prawns I ever tasted. It's like heaven inside your mouth, hmmm! Soo good! Employees are extra nice to us & all of us eat like kings and can barely walk after eating here.
Still the best tasting honey walnut shrimp anywhere!
I find ever reason to come here and eat when I'm going anywhere in Vallejo or pass Vallejo!
In short.. Get honey walnut prawns!
Im so glad I found this place ! -

Since Szechuan is closed for renovations until January 2012 we decided to try Annie's for take out. It was OK. The honey walnut prawns were sweeter than I normally used to at other places. The Kung Pao Chicken was spicy like we wanted but like most Kung Pao's too many peanuts not enough chicken. The Chow Mein had the fattest noodles I've ever seen and had a good flavor.
Price came to $30 for 4 entrees. Large portions.
It was decent but, I still swear by Szechuan Kitchen for Chinese food in Vallejo. -

No huge problems with the place. The seats for the booths are very uncomfortable. Very bumpy and just uneven. The male servers are much more friendly than the female ones. Even when ordering on the phone for pick up, I sensed attitude from the lady. Its always been the male servers who actually come to our table to check on us.
Other than that, the food is great. Prices arent too bad either. The portions are big enough to fill me up. And the walnut shrimp is amazing! Definitely the place to go if you have a huge craving for that. -

Meh, really.
I remember going here way back in the day when it used to be an all you can eat joint. I also remember walking out one day, right after I just came in, due to a nice little ant colony by the spring loaded plate dispenser.
Fast forward years later to a group lunch with a bunch of coworkers. After picking something randomly: curry chicken, I was pleasantly surprised. The dish was pretty tasty. Well, that was last year.
After driving around that part of town tonight, I decided to give Annie's another try. Ordered Generals Chicken-$6.95 and Beef Chow Fun-$5.95. The Generals chicken has a little star next to it indicating that it may be hot and spicy for certain palettes. It had nothing, there was more spice in the tea. Instead of broccoli it came with a plethora of giant chunks of carrots, zucchini, and celery. The barely flavored sauce tasted like simple sugar syrup. The meat was cooked well and the breading/crust was thin and not at all oily tasting, but that was not enough to save the dish.
The beef chow fun was a big plate full of nasty limpness. The wide rice noodles were mostly clumped together. The beef was thinly sliced and cooked well, but had that weird "this beef might be bad" taste. Other than that it had no flavor.
The portions were very generous, but made little difference to the overall meal since the taste was no where near average.
Even though they have some of the cheapest prices for American Chinese in Vallejo, I seriously doubt I would come back. -

Location & presentation: Not so appealing. The inside is sort of dirty
Food: Pretty good. I've only had food from there maybe once or twice.
I've definitely had much better.
between an A+ and F...they get a D from me. Sorry Annie, I know plenty of locals would beg to differ. -

This isn't a "fine dining" establishment, so I'm rating it for what it is, a nice family spot that delivers (imagine that) and offers large portions at reasonable prices.
We are in the middle of a kitchen renovation, so we are eating out alot more than planned. Annies helps us do that with really low prices. Last night we chose the Szchewan Dinner for $9.95 per person. It included:
- chinese chicken salad
- wor wonton soup
- fried wontons with sweet & sour sauce
- kung pao chicken
- szchewan beef
- lemon chicken
- house special fried rice
and tea
The service was quick, effecient and professional, and once they get to know you, there will be a little chitter chatter/banter.

We were tired and hungry after a day at Discovery Kingdom. The kids are all wiped out. We didn't want to drive anywhere too far because the kids will fall asleep on the way.
Whipped out the iPhone and found this place. Called to make a reservation for a party of 11, for sitting in 10mins. No problem. They were not too busy anyway and they gladly took our reservation.
It's an old restaurant without much decor. It's one of those holes in the wall. I didn't mind it, as long as it had good food. The food was at best so-so, especially if you've eaten at a proper Chinese restaurant in a proper Chinatown. Walnut prawns didn't have enough walnuts and it was way over coated with the sauce. In total, we ordered over 10 dishes and none of them were memorable. We would only go back if we are in a bind, otherwise, we would try somewhere else. -

terrible service. great food.
I believe in equality for men and women but...
If you are being served by a man you will get descent serivce and chances are he will smile.
If you are being served by one of the ladies-- good luck.
I went to meet two people who had seated and ordered for an early lunch. (I arrived about 10 minutes at the most after they had ordered) The woman ignored me everytime I rose my hand to call her or another host over so I could order. Finally when the other orders came out I stopped her and asked to order. She replied "You no order no more they already have food." WTF rude!
Again whenever I have one of the male host they are nice and always eager to suggest what's good to eat.
The honey walnut prawns are soooo good and also the egg drop soup. Cheap prices I still come here even with the bad service. -
Review from Paul C.
So many people have that one restaurant that is their old reliable. The one they grew up patronizing when they were younger and frequented over the years. This is my old reliable.
I've been a regular customer here for over fifteen years. Although my palate has evolved over that span and have traveled to Hong Kong twice, I can still count on this place for good Chinese food.
My favorites:
Honey Walnut Prawns - plump shrimp with just the right amount of honey glaze and toasted walnuts.
Lemon Chicken - crispy chicken breast pieces with lemon sauce.
Wor Wonton Soup - wontons, shrimp, chicken, beef, and bok choy in a chicken broth.
Combination Chow Mein (Hong Kong style) - crispy egg noodles with chicken, shrimp, beef and vegetables in a really tasty sauce.
On the Bland Side:
- all of their fried rice dishes. Not enough flavor.
- spring rolls. They are greasy and lose their crispiness quickly.
Like I said my palate has evolved. If this were my first visit, I would rate them a 3. I add the extra star for the consistently great service and the great memories of years past. -

Sometimes when you have become a yelp champ( at least in my own eyes) you forget about the little places that got you there.
i have literally been eating here since before i moved to Vallejo at the tender age of 11, about once a week.
There are so many reasons to eat here. First of all, it's the most affordable place in Vallejo. Second of all, the staff is pretty friendly( well they know me by name). third, and most importantly, the food is bomb.
I'm hooked on their delicious pot stickers and hot vinegar and oil drip, a meal in of itself. The Mongolian chicken or beef is mouth watering. The crispy(or cryspy as spelled on menu) is a must have.
The decor wont impress you much, but you gotta grab a bite here. -

Wow...... Great Place to go after a long day of fun at Six Flags Hands Down!!! 4.5 stars really...... Why? See below.,...
MAMMOTH portions... i mean one order is enough for 2-3 people easy! we had left overs for 2 days and that's all we ate!
YUMMY YUMMY food. We got Chicken Chow fun, beef broccoli and cashew chicken... they came with hefty friend rice, egg roll, won ton, soup and chow main... SERIOUSLY!? DELICIOUS!
Nice people, although they are short staffed and it may take a few minutes... The set up isn't Chic by any means.... But i tell ya.... the food and people MORE than make up for it. That's the only reason i didn't give them 5 stars...
PRICES can not be beat!!! $1.75 for a 16oz beer?! $8 for a meal that can feed 3!? $1 Ice CREAM!!!!!
GO GO GO!!! -

Great local chinese restaurant. I always used to come here when I was younger. Though it hasn't been attracting as many customers as before and is in a not-so-pleasant part of town , it's still one if the best chinese restaurants in Vallejo.

The owner is really named Annie and she is at the restaurant on a regular basis. I haven't seen any eucalyptus leaves (isn't that what panda's eat, or maybe I have confused them with koalas!) but they are accommodating at making plant-based dishes for vegans and omnivores. They have large round tables with the spinning tabletop perfect for extended family dinners. Service is consistently friendly and quick.

This place was delicious. At first the waiter was a bit rude but then he was nice throughout the whole time we were there. The older lady was so sweet & nice. Gave it a 4 because the food was good, delicious, and the ladies were nice. Not a 5 because the guy was a bit rude in the beginning. Oh, portions of food is a good size, big size. well worth the money. good & less expensive

Absolutely love this place! Somehow every time I come here the service seems to be sh*tty, but the food def makes up for it! It has to, or I wouldn't keep coming back! Lol they have $3-$5 lunch specials, some include soup & appetizers. Their portions are pretty big & they're fast! Five stars in my book.

I go to Annies atleast 4-5times a month. I only order honey walnut prawns and vegetable tofu. Those are my top two, the service is alright ecause most of the times I go there I get good service. So overall rating I give 4 stars. The food is good and affordable if it wasn't I wouldn't be coming to this place over and over. Top and best of there menu is the honey walnut prawns.

I hadn't been here since I was 12.....wowo, that long ago!
Well this time wasn't that bad, except for the jerk that was sittin at the table behind us with his girlfriend. He cursed about everything and he wouldn't stop questioning her every move and what she was doing with all her money. It was so bothersome! Then he invited his scary looking friend to come by! OMG!!!
Oh back to the review, lol!
Well they have a convenient location and good food, great customer service for the most part! Have to try it if you have never been there! -

4 stars for frozen fresh Chinese food on dirty (hand-washed?) plates? LOL I was also waiting for la coo ca racha to rear its ugly head. Hmmm... My only guess why this place gets the high ratings is that folks get hungry after hot booty calls at the motel next door. Cheap and generous portions yes, but what about quality and taste? muhahahahaha, visit at your own risk.
P.S. I now realized this is a sponsored result, shame on yelp for giving an establishment of this low quality 4 stars, i'm sure that most of the "positive" reviewers here are friends and family of the owner. It is because of this shill game i'll bring my final rating to 1 star. -

I found a lil meat surprise in my veggie chow mein, and my friends had nothing to rave about their beef dishes. Prices are cheap, and it shows; the food is really mediocre. It's good enough to eat if you're starved, but not something to go out of your way for. Annie's is right off 80, so I could see it being the perfect pit stop for many.
Service was fine, a tad on the slow side, but otherwise bearable. The restroom was dark, lit only by natural light--the ideal setting to jump somebody in. -

Had a day off from work and the burning desire to yelp some place new was overbearing...
The son and I had about 45 mins to burn before we had to head off to see the new Madagascar (great movie btw!!!) So we walk in and it was a lil bit chaotic. Busy is good but then again, in today's economy, a banner that announces lunch specials for $3.95 is hard to pass up. We were finally seated and the staff was very friendly and apologetic.
I was a lil bit leary over the food coming to the table almost before we ordered it. It was okay. We had a combo each and it's safe to say almost everything here is fried. I dont know what I was thinking ordering some fried beef...I didnt like it. The yu-lin chicken was pretty good. I snatched a piece of my son's brocc beef and it was just fine.
I will have to come back and try what I really wanted...the walnut prawns it seems everyone is raving about. I was impressed for sure with the fast service and one of the waiters who looked just like YAO MING to me...YUMMM!Listed in: The China Syndrome

LARGE portions. Good food and cheap!
It's definitely not that fanciest Chinese restaurant (bathrooms are kinda scary and dimly lit) and it's not placed in the nicest area of Vallejo, but the staff is friendly and I never leave hungry.Comment from Jimmy Z. S. of Annie's Panda Garden 4/27/2010

I'm not going to lie. This place is somewhat of a hidden gem in the ghetto. The portions are HUGE, the service is prompt, and the food tastes good. It's not the most attractive place outside.. or inside for that matter, but believe me, it's worth a try. There are a couple of dishes that are not made in the typical chinese fashion, but the taste is still equally good.
My boyfriend and I always order the salt and pepper crab when its available. It's euphoria in a shell. I have to say that in that situation, it's a good thing we AREN'T in a fancy restaurant because we get down and dirty when we eat crabs. I highly recommend ordering that, if only that.
I might have even given an extra star (eh, not really) if the water didn't look like it didn't come from the hose out back. I'd stick to sneaking in your own beverage. -

Delish!!
Family always gets their Chinese grub from this place - and we know them well of their 'Special' Chow Mein. Oh man I can have this for ages. Just the right amount of everything and it keeps well in the refrigerator for nights to come!!!
Try their steamed fish too - it's off the heezy. lol
I'd also recommend this as a cute little place to go for dinner during the 4th of July weekend - you got a perfect view of the Marine World (it will always be Marine World) fireworks -

Annie's is Awesome!! 4 stars!!
Look, I'm pretty picky about where I go but when I come here I make sure my bladder is empty and my tummy too. They fill it up at lunch for just $3.60 (plus tax+tip) and I'm a happy camper. The parking could be better, the inside could be cleaner and the bathroom.. well.. *sigh*.. yeah, anyhow... the food is cheap and fast and service is with a smile.
OH SNAP!! AND they're open every day.. well last I checked anyhow.. KUDOS for not being closed on Mondays, my favorite Chinese food day! -

Only an idiot would think that this is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Bay. Obviously, you haven't been to very many.
I do admit it's DIRT CHEAP, and the owner is really nice, BUT.... The place is filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting, and don't even dare to look into the kitchen while they're preparing your food. The dust vents just continue to shed dust everywhere and have never been cleaned. Even when they wipe down my table, it's still sticky and feels dirty to me, I'm not even sure if the rag is clean.
As for the food, I can barely swallow it because it's either too greasy, or too tasteless/bland. I know it's Chinese food but damn: OIL IS NOT A FLAVOR. Plus there was a hair in my food, and a fly chilling on my plate. Hella gross. I don't even want to know about all the nastiness that I CAN'T see.
The price is right, you can't get any cheaper than that, but that's how they trick you to eat here, not to mention the huge sign you can see from the freeway. Plus it's Vallejo, let's face it, everything in this city is cheap so i wouldn't expect Annie's to be expensive! And Vallejo doesn't have a lot of good chinese restaurants to compare it to, so that sucks that people say that this is "the best". In terms of food quality and cleanliness, sorry Annie, I've had 1000000 times way better and cleaner, and you only get 1 star from me.Listed in: BLACKLISTED BUSINESSES

We decided to drop by here after a long day of boarding in Tahoe. The parents wanted Chinese food so we didn't have many options.
The positives -
1. Convenient Location - it's right off the Redwood Pkwy exit, next to the freeway - 80
2. It's open late
3. The food is cheap! The bill came out to about $50, including tax and tip. That fed 8 people comfortably.
The negatives -
1. The food isn't too tasty
2. The restaurant doesn't look like the cleanest
What we ordered -
2 plates of BBQ Pork Fried Rice - large portion, but it tasted kinda burnt.
HK Style Combo Noodles - it was ok
Mongolian Beef - the onions in this dish weren't cooked too well - still very raw!
Shrimp Egg Foo Yung - nothing spectacular - the sauce was kinda on the salty side.
Kung Pao Chicken - again, just ok
Eggplant - this dish was yummy. The texture of the eggplant was nice and sauce was just right.
I've been spoiled with awesome Chinese food in the SF/East Bay area. This place doesn't come close to the quality of food I've had.
BUT, the service here was nice and the waiters were good about refilling our tea and water.
I'd come back here only if I was in the area and wanted Chinese food. -

I was living for a month or so in a hotel off Fairgrounds when I first moved to the area. I saw this place from the freeway and thought I should try it one of these days. Well, one night after a long day of work, I stopped in looking for some take out to bring back to the hotel. What I found was not just dinner, but one of my new favorite restaurants!
The food is great, the staff is friendly, is fast and comfortable, and is a place that will be one on the top of my list for as long as I will be in the area. Highly recommend!
Thank You Annie's Panda Garden for being so Awesome! -

When you come out of the main marine world parking lot. Take a right onto Fairground. This road will lead you straigt to Annies.
We were hungry and it was about 9pm when we got out of the park. Annies was right off of the freeway. We didn't realize that it was on the same road as the parking lot for Marine World until later on.
The service here for a Chinese restaurant is really good. They were really polite and brought out the food almost instantly. I was really taken aback by the service. Most chinese places the wait staff is really really rude. But not at Annies. They really want you to come back and eat.
We ordered about 6 dishes to feed 10 people. The bill came out to $80 after tip. This included Beer and rice too. -

I stumbled across this joint accidentally on my way home from a Napa trip. Tired and hungry, I saw the sign right off HWY 80 and thought, "Yes, Chinese would hit the spot right now!"
I have to admit, walking into the place, I wasn't expecting much as they don't seem to be too concerned with the decor. But, on the other hand, what truly authentic, ethnic culinary establishment is more than just a large kitchen?
I sit down, and the first thing I see is the prices on the menu. $3.50 for a lunch special? Ugh!... I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, so that being said, I wasn't expecting to be impressed at all.
I decided to "make mine a double" and order a combo for $2 more, because let's be honest, I love to eat and how much can I actually expect for $3.50? Well let me tell you something buddy! After my hot and sour soup, they brought me my fried won ton and egg roll. All of which were good. As soon as I was done with that, I was brought the Chow Mein, Mongolian Beef, and the YuLin Chicken I ordered.
OK, I'm a strong, secure individual and I can admit when I was wrong. This was actually pretty good, and the portions were definitely on the large side! Don't get me wrong, I'm not making any trips from the South Bay to Vallejo just to go here, but I will have to say that when I'm in the area, I will be back.
Keep one thing in mind: All this, including drinks, for three people - less than $20!!!! You can't beat that! -

We actually had a really good experience here, we've tried it 3 times and all 3 have been good. The staff is really nice. We pretty much always order way too much, but it's always been good; Annie's house rice, sno-peas and mushrooms w/ water chestnuts ( a bit of veggies to alleviate the guilt), Singapore noodles and General's chicken. The prices are reasonable and the food hasn't been greasy or salty, but fresh and good. I also tried the spicy chicken which was good.
For a fast casual dining it's really not bad.
We have to ask for no or light onions and they always accomodate us. -

Ahh, Annie's. Fond fond memories from this place. The lunch specials are really affordable, which is what drew us to the place back in high school. I'll never forget frantically ordering over the phone in class, then driving lightning fast to pick up our orders and then parking on the hill next to VHS as we shoved our faces full of the delicious food before the bell rang. Where else could we get a ton of food for under 5 bucks?
The Yu-Lin Chicken and the Honey Walnut Prawns are my favorites there. Go for iiiiiiiit. -

Been a casual customer my whole life (22yrs). Good tasting chinese food. Makes it seem like Panda Express was made from cement. If you love Honey Walnut Prawns, this is the spot. As long as I keep my pace at weighing 147lbs, I can keep grinding at this lunch plate. ;)

This is probably the second decent Chinese restaurant in Vallejo.
The hubby and I go here once and a while and usually order their Mongolian beef, which is a little more tender than China Woks and still very spicy and good. We also get the hot and sour soup which my hubby likes more than I do as they include a variety of meats in theirs, while China Wok offers the vegetarian version, which is what I prefer.
Other than that, although their cheaper, stay away from the more Americanized menu and don't get their chow fun or chow mein, it's just not fried or flavored right and oh so bland.
BTW, I do like their fortune cookies and the tea they serve. -

My family and I always eat here, ever since I moved away from San Jose about 20 years ago. We've known Annie in what seems like forever! She is always very nice to us, and she always throws in extra desserts on the house for us. She always makes us this special spicy eggplant dish with the bbq park thrown in there. IT'S SO GOOD! I also always get their chinese chicken salad, since it is one of the best I've had. Try their lemon chicken, and walnut shrimp too! Everything else here has been great.
You definitely should try it. It's conveniently located off of I-80 (exit Redwood). Expect low prices, and great service! They have great lunch specials too! -
