This is one of my favorite places in Boston. Hands down, I love it.
Get the carnitas quesadilla and don't skip on the guac.
Its fresh, fast, cheap and delicious. I've never had anything to complain about besides being too full and wanting more!

There is nothing bad I can say about this place. If you're looking for a quick, cheap meal that tastes amazing and leaves you full for about 2 days; this is it.
Yum!
I've come here a couple of times for burritos. Prior to coming here, I've always heard extremely good comments on the place. I can't say the place blows me away, but the burritos are good, cheap, quick, and customizable. I also like getting the fresh squeezed OJ.
Good stuff.

After years of frequenting Anna's--since the opening of the very first store in Coolidge Corner--I thought I knew everything there is to know about the place.
I was wrong. Last week, I decided to try the tiny little tacos al pastor. Well, I've found my one true love and will never stray. These are seriously good, so much so that I will probably never order anything else ever again.
I will say that I don't think Anna's has the best burritos, anyway. For that, there's Felipe's in Harvard Square. But the tacos al pastor are superb. Superb--I never say superb!

Pretty average mexican food. A little pricey for what you get.
It's cheap, easy & quick, but it isn't great. If you're looking for a fast food burrito, this is the place. If you're looking for the greatest tex-mex you've ever had, I think you're about, 1000 miles away from where you should be looking.
That being said, I like it b/c I am looking for cheap, easy, & quick burritos. I am not looking for the best tex-mex of my life.
Also the guys clean the back walls of the grills by standing on the grill in their sneakers. Mmm sneakers. http://flickr.com/phot...

Ok, this is just sad. Have any of you actually been to Mexico? Or heck even Texas, Arizona, California, New Mexico... ANYWHERE that serves a decent burrito?? Why does everyone give this place 4-5 stars?
Not good. Bland. Small. Boring. Unoriginal. Meat in tortilla, add cheese. I had better burritos in my crappy college town at the place everyone only stumbled to at 3 am.

The best burrito joint in New England. There is no debating this.
Consistent, cheap, yum.
Ok, so you love Anna's burritos. But have you ever tried anything else? Don't get me wrong, nothing satisfies like a burrito, but if you're in the mood for a change, next time try a quesadilla. It's not a circular thing like you'd get as an appetizer in a restaurant. It more or less looks like a burrito, but the tortilla is grilled, and it usually doesn't come with rice and beans, but you can ask for them if you want. I usually get chicken, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, hot sauce, and jalapenos in mine. The crunchiness of the tortilla from the grill gives it a different feel than a burrito.
And as for beverages, try either the Horchata, which is rice milk and very soothing on the stomach, especially when it's in such gastrointestinal distress from a burrito, or the Jamaica (pronounced Hah-MY-kah), which is a juice made from Hibiscus flowers. Both are delicious alternatives to a Coke.
And as for the burritos, they are definitely a cut above Chipotle. I find Chipotle an acceptable alternative when not in Boston, but can't bring myself to chose it over Anna's.

For the longest time I didn't eat here because of the rice. It was like the gossip among vegetarians, Anna's rice has chicken stock! Some blocked their ears in denial, having never tried it, I used this as a reason not to go as I had no idea what I was actually missing.
Fast forward to the current time and they have veggie rice, so now is my time to finally check it out. I went with a grilled veggie burrito (a super one!), and I love how they try to get every veggie in there and chop it up. I'm also a fan of the jalapenos they throw in, gives it a nice kick!
There's something about the way the rice blends with the cheese and with the beans, etc. They all come together perfectly and leave me eating more even when my stomach is telling me to stop.
The miss here is the chips and salsa. The chips are not my favorite, and the salsa is watery and bland. If they could fix these they'd gain half a star. Oh yelp, if only you would let me do half star ratings!

I can't help but wonder if the folks who are screaming "bland!" are used to things buried in cheese and taco sauce. This is what sets Annas burritos apart; they're not vaguely burrito shaped messes floating in molten chedder and sauce. These burritos are single, solid objects as thick as your forearm.
Best burrito I've ever had. They're a bit of a hike for me to get to now and I miss em'.
Don't get me wrong. The burritos here aren't really that good, but given the limited Mexican options in the Boston area, they somehow get two stars. In a lot of other cities, they'd be lucky to get one.

Anastasia turned me on to this joint... more specifically the grilled quesidillas... the flour tortilla is first grilled in buttery amazingness... then stuffed with whatever you tell them to put in it. It's practically as big as a burrito... but about 450% more magnificent.
The atmosphere is plain, the tables are pretty packed in there... but the line moves fast, with two prep stations, and you can always grab your food to go.
Pair your quesidillas with a mexican soda... mango, orange, lime, pineapple... you choose...
Here we have one of the staples of the Davis Squarea.

There's nothing like an Anna's burrito when you're really hungry and kind of broke. The burritos are definitely good - not the best, but tasty and huge and I love to watch them make them! I wish I could give 3.5 stars but oh well. The main reason I don't come here more often is because after I'm done I feel gross from eating so much, and I've been to other burrito places where I don't leave feeling that way. I think it might be the sheer greasiness/messiness of the food.
Anna's is a place of incredible diminishing marginal returns. I used to go to Anna's pretty frequently until I got burrito burnout. Now I can't stand the smell of Anna's. And I don't mean to be picky but there are a couple things I don't like about Anna's: the way you smell after coming out of the place, and the fact that the rice is not vegetarian. Chicken broth in the rice is unnecessary.
Yum. I don't usually like taco places...but Anna's is really yummy and doesn't give my stomach issues like Qdoba's normally does.
I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review about Anna's. I was a frequent customer 5+ years ago when I attended Tufts and afterwards when I lived in the Davis Square area.
The ordering process is similar to that at Subway or Chipotle - walk to the end of the line, when you get to the counter specify if you'd like a burrito, super burrito, quesadilla or other and then move along letting them know what you want included. The decor is simple and there is generally enough seating for those that want to dine-in. The location is convenient to the T, to Tufts and to numerous bars and restaurants if you are looking for a night out after a quick bite.
My entree of choice - the chicken quesadilla. Nice and greasy, affordable, and filling. Granted you can't eat this every day of the week, but this used to be my comfort food after a hard day at work.
I'm not sure about the burritos...they are decent but I wouldn't say the best I've ever tried. In any case, solely for the chicken quesadillas, I still make it a point to visit Anna's (preferably the Davis Square location solely for nostalgic reasons) when I visit Boston.
I go simple: cheese (or veggie, if I'm particularly hungry) quesadilla, with sour cream, and jalapenos. It's quick, it's filling, it's cheap, and it's tasty. And we all know that quick + filling + cheap + tasty = happy Sarah. And we all know that happy Sarah = good.

I was never, ever disappointed by anything I ever got at Anna's. Sure, the assembly line of employees yell at you, but who cares, it's really really affordable and awfully tasty and they always do a good job. This was a place that was too easy to drop into for a great mexican meal rather than cook at home.
It's true. . .
You are either an Anna's loyalist or a Boca Grande communist bastard.
I am of course an Anna's fan. Give me a half rosted veggie half grilled chicken quesidilla that I can't finish any day.

I'm pissed that I even have to give this shit hole a star. I have NEVER thrown out a chicken taco. Especially after paying out the ass to add guac. Fuck you Anna's, you overrated piece of shit. And fuck Boston for not having better Mexican joints.
Gross.Gross.Gross.

By far, the best place in Davis for a quick, easy, cheap and filling meal. I love Anna's! Their burritos are fantastic! I always grab one and throw it in my purse before going to the movies.
I'm a vegetarian, so I do the roasted vegetable burrito, but I hear that carnitas is a fantastic option. They've got chicken, too.
The guys behind the counter are always really friendly with a "Como estas?" and a smile.
The one weird thing is that it seems like I get charged a different amount every time, but never an outrageously different amount.
But that's a small price to pay -- burritos are delicious and a super burrito will feed you for days for only around $6.00!

Anna's is so great! I have so much fun ordering a veggie burrito and watching the guys who assemble it hack off big chunks of yams and corn and peppers, then dice them into bite-sized pieces at the speed of light. It's cheap and you'll definitely have leftovers, cos the burritos are huuuge.
The seating can be problematic, but it's a lot better in the Davis Square location than any other other ones I've been to. Sometimes the lines are out the door, too. It's worth the wait if you are willing to sit it out, though.
I wasn't planning on writing a review for Anna's. Seemed like overkill. We all know what Anna's is (big, cheap, authentic burritos) and you either love it or you hate it (and haters? keep it to yourself.).
But I was astounded that Yelp didn't give Anna's a proper shout-out in their "Loco for Cinco" email. To mention Anna's only to say that Super Burrito might "make you rethink your devotion" and then to list nothin' but Taco Lupita in the Red Line section?
Please.
Anna's deserves better.
After six months of dieting, and losing 110 lbs, the first "bad" thing i wanted to have was an Anna's Super Burrito/ extra carnitas/extra cheese/guac and hot sauce. If they say absence makes the heart grow fonder them my heart grew two-sizes bigger. Oh God, I hope not because that's the reason I dropped all the weight. But if I'm going to die from an enlarged heart at least it will be with a smile on my face and some guac and carnitas at the corner of that smile.

Words can not do this place justice. HEAVEN in burrito (or crunchy quesadilla) form!

so good, that my friend who moved to florida from here, wants me to overnight ship these burritos to him. Seriously. He's for real. I'm gonna do it.
Horchata kicks alot of ass too.
Cheap and fast too! My only complaint are the (sometimes) obnoxiously loud packs of college freshmen who frequent these places.
No place in Boston makes a better burrito. Seriously.
When you assemble yours, make sure to ask for the black beans over the pinto beans. (The staff will have a touch more respect for you, seriously.)
Sure chicken and steak are old standbys, but don't overlook the carnitas (pork). It's so tender and drips with flavor.
All locations are awesome, but I'm fond of the Somerville spot, as there's always an empty chair or two, and the staff is super accommodating.
I went into a six month burrito exile in an attempt to eat healthier. What a fool I was. I made my triumphant return to Anna's a couple of weeks ago and was greeted like a conquering hero... that is to say, I was offered a burrito.
I've had everything off of their menu and it is excellent. The pork is tender, the chicken is juicy, the al pastor is magic. The Davis Square Anna's benefits from extremely quick service and the fact that it is rarely overcrowded. You'll be in and out in 10 minutes, regardless of line size.

God I miss this place. I live in Southern California and I can't even find a damn burrito that tastes as good as Anna's. I miss thee. Plenty of food, fresh ingredients... heaven.
good burritos, good price. (sorry, i went there two months ago and i eat out so often i barely remember my experience but i know it was positive)
edit:
i went back. ITS AWESOME. i dont know how i forgot how awesome it is. its really cheap too!! while i was there, some random food critics gave Anna's a bag of chocolates as a prize for winning BEST BURRITOS IN CAMBRIDGE (or somerville).. something like that.

Anna's, Anna's Anna's.
I have this problem where I get really into something and then can't stay away. And so was my problem with Anna's. I ate so many Anna's burritos last year that it was disgusting. And notice that I don't live in Somerville anymore, so I would actually drag my boy from Revere to Somerville with me to get a burrito at Anna's at least once a week (but more like twice).
The problem was that they were just too good at evenly distributing the burrito components within the confines of the tortilla. Every burrito bite would come with equal amounts of rice, bean, sour cream, lettuce, and veggie. I got spoiled by that, which was why I couldn't find happiness in any other burrito. Everywhere we went, we came across burritos that would give you whole bites of ONLY bean or ONLY sour cream, and I'm not really down with that. So we stuck to Anna's.
We have since found a closer (dare I say better?) burrito joint in Everett, so we don't make weekly burrito runs to Somerville anymore. And I kinda did overdose on Anna's so I'm taking a little break. But Anna's is the best Somerville has to offer, as the burritos are definitely delicious (and definitely better than boloco up the street AND tacos lupita).
Also on MIT Campus, Harvard Ave Brookline, Brookline Ave Coolidge Corner and Porter Sq. Delicious. Have to have the hot sauce. My fav vegetable ques.
Every time I come into Boston, I must have Anna's. It doesn't matter if my hotel is on the other side of Boston. It doesn't matter if I've eaten a huge lunch already or if I have dinner plans in an hour. Nothing can stop me from making the trek to Davis, not even the impatient sighs and eyerolls my friends let out while they whine "What else are you going to do when you get there?" The answer is absolutely nothing. I will get to Davis, gorge myself on a crispy, flaky, grilled chicken quesdailla stuffed with rice, black beans, cheese, lettuce and sour cream - NO salsa because I cannot stand cilantro - and get right back on the T. And all will be right with the world.
Simply the freshest and cheapest burritos around. I've been frequenting Anna's for 8 years now and I will go well out of my way to get it. My favorite burrito so far:
Super Burrito
Half carnitas, half chili verde
Blackbeans, hot sauce, salsa and guac.

I disagree, for a vegetarian it's not good. For some odd reason their veggies taste like soap. Cheap price and I just tag along with my friends now and get a quesadilla because I can't stand the taste of their vegetables and their bland food.
