The lettuce on the chicken caesar salad pizza is so soggy it feels like a flaccid dick.

Which, apparently is a good thing.

I was wandering around Williamsburg prior to a show (which is pretty much the only reason I ever visit this neighborhood) and was starving.  Okay, not starving, but I was pretty hungry.  I quickly went to my trusty Yelp app, which led me in the direction of two other nearby pizza joints.  I walked past, saw the lines and occupied tables, and said nah.  I checked the app one last time and found Anna Maria Pizza.  I walked by, saw a few empty tables, and decided to go inside.

The nice guys at the counter quickly took my order and gave me my drink in advance so I could claim a table and hydrate myself prior to my pizza coming out of the oven.  The pizza came out piping hot, which normally isn't my thing, but it works for them.  Very thin crust, the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese, very tasty.  A tasty slice and a drink only ran me $4, which is not bad at all.

This really should be 3 1/2 stars but 3 will have to do since I'm not quite sure that they are worthy of 4 just yet.

I LOVE pizza, and Anna Maria never disappoints.

My favorite slice is the BBQ chicken slice.
(shredded chicken, onion, cilantro, red peppers and cheese, with a light BBQ sauce, it's amazing!)

The service is good and the employees are humorous.

I'm PRETTY SURE I ate a slice of roasted chicken pizza.
I'm PRETTY SURE the caesar salad chicken looked awesome.
I'm PRETTY SURE it was almost 5am.

I KNOW that even though it was preceded by a few picklebacks, the pizza was delicious and that I'd eat here again if I'm in the neighborhood.  This pizza was actually one of the few things that made me regret living in SF instead of NY.

Ummm. It's actually KINDA GOOD you guys. Enough with the late nite memories. I have them too! OK??! OKAY????

And they were NE'ER - I repeat - NEVER - "Saved" by a slice of pizza. Who drinks that little anyways?

The only nights out drinking I got saved from were from Coke...CAINE... not A-Cola.

    Anyways.

Came here sober! This very afternoon.

Had all those low expectations chronicled by various late night drunken then yelping the next morning yelpers... Figured the pizza would suck more than it actually did.

What DID suck were the rowdy school kids... tooooootallly harshin on my mellow.

Put lots of garlic and oregano (it has anti-bacterial properties WHUT) on a good ole average cheese slice and you'll find that actually, that good ole average cheese slice is actually.... PRETTY FUCKIN GOOD. I'm upping it to 4 stars now.

Dude behind the counter kept trying to offer me tequila.

JUST because I was rudely awakened at 5 am by a pack of howling chiuahuas doesn't mean these eye bags 'go hard' like they used to. I just LOOK tired all the time. Buddy.

But he was funny. And the pizza was damn good. No cocaine was hurt in the making of this review - I'm over it! I'm over it.

Best "dirty street pizza" (as I call it) in New York City... If you're drunk, all the better.  Load up your cheap cheese slice with all the condiments, grab a soda and chow down.  It's your delicious pre-emptive hangover cure!

Four stars should be three and a half...

The day I visited, I needed quick food.  I saw that they had avocado pizza, but it was no day for me to be experimenting.  I got a slice with chicken and broccoli.  I ate it, and it was decent, but I kept wondering how much better that other avocado slice might have been.

When I got up to order a soda, someone tried to move my pizza and take my seat.  I said to him, "is there gonna be some pizza shop drama up in here?" and he blandly said "sorry" and got up.  There were some strange birds that were attracted to this particular pizza shop.  I just wanted to eat and leave and they gave me a decent slice of pizza.  I don't think its worth a trip but its worth stopping for...

    Oh yeah, this place...

Almost forgotten about this one. Well actually, when you've been drinking all night on Bedford Avenue, it's easy to let this one skip from your mind. Especially when you're recovering from your hangover. This one's been open for a while. Way before Willamsburg became hipsterville. It's right across the street from one of Bedford Avenue's more popular watering holes, The Charleston. Although The Charleston serves its own pizza, free with a pitcher of beer.

The majority of its current business comes from the drunk bar hopping hungry hipsters. However, this pizzeria doesn't miss a beat. Service here is REAL quick - place your order at the counter - ZIP - in the oven- ZIP -collect your money- ZIP -on a paper plate- ZIP -pizza served. You'll spend more time trying to snag a seat that waiting for your slice.

Anna Maria pizza is the type of pizza that tastes better when you have your beer buzz going on. Once sober, that's when you kinda realize how greasy your slice was. Then you realize Anna Maria pizza is just your average, ordinary pizza. It's not bad, but it's not spectacular either. Sort of like that guy/girl who you picked up last night at that North Williamsburg bar. You thought he/she was all hot when you exchanged spit. Come the day next day, you wake up. Those old beer goggles were at it again. You make your excuses and leave. You promise that you'll call but you know you never will. As you're doing that walk of shame towards the L train, smelling like last night's funk, you shudder: "what was I thinking...?" And the same goes with Anna Maria pizza.

Hands down the best place "last call" pizza joint near the Bedford L.  Sadly, everyone seems to know this, so it gets crowded during peak hours.  But it's worth the wait, and it's kind of nice to mingle with the random drunk people whose stomachs require crispy, hot, and greasy at odd hours of the night.

The secret to Anna's success is the toppings.  Forget the plain slice.  Check out their counter filled with dozens of fresh varieties of meats/veggies/fruit combinations.  But be warned, the slices are pretty heavy.  One piece is enough to satisfy....maybe two if you're really drunk.

The key to ordering is to fight for a spot at the counter so you can scope out the best looking varieties.  Then you have to get the guy's attention, order quickly and clearly with your money ready.  Put your friend to work stalking for an empty table that's not completely covered in crumbs.  Send another friend to navigate the drink aisle slash bathroom line.

    "Neeaaaakkkkss plays."

My least favorite phrase on the planet: "it is what it is".  I wish this meaningless crap was never thought of or spoken again, but I imagine a lot of people would use it as the best descriptor of Anna Maria.  You know precisely what you're getting the instant you walk into the place, even if you're 8-10 deep.

I have no doubt it has saved countless people from excruciating hangovers over the years.  And as a bonus the pizza is actually pretty good, if greasy.  I love that they have all the pizzas laid out so you can just point, pay, and head out into the night...I mean early morning.  I can't say I'd go here over Vinny's but that doesn't diminish my appreciation for its existence.

YUCK! I made the mistake of coming here the other day.

    1. Shitty service! The lady behind the counter didn't even acknowledge my existence for a good minute and a half.
    2. So many flies!
    3. My chicken & mushroom slice was way too greasy. I was nauseous afterwards for a little while.
    4. Is it normal for a plain cheese slice and a chicken & mushroom slice to cost $6.50 altogether? I rarely get pizza so I was unpleasantly surprised when I found out how much this was going to cost.
    5. Driggs Pizza down the block is better! The workers are way more friendly and the place is not a shit hole infested with flies.

ok.. Wow, I can't believe I remembered the name of this place.. Went to see some music last night and ended up here around 2 am.

Ceasar salad pizza was ridiculously good.. I think grilled chicken is tossed with crunchy romaine lettuce.  Tons of sauce and cheese and well, it was so amazing.

I also had bites of a chicken parm pizza. That too was delicious.

It was the first thing I ate since lunch, then several drinks, then Anna Marie pizza.

The place was packed.. It so reminded me of the East Village 15 years ago, minus the punks, the junkies, and prostitutes. But still a lot of fun.

I don't see myself returning in the daylight but, a night time drunk spot, kudos to them.

My friends and I came to Anna Maria's real early in the morning after getting in some serious partying.  I like the thin crust, the size and the taste.  And actually they were closing up shop, but they let us in anyway.

The cost $2.50/slice.  Due to the early morning hour, my eyes were partially open/closed, my feet were hurting, and I was running on fumes, but the wonderful taste of the pizza made me a happy camper as I headed to LGA.  Thank you Anna Maria's. I.like!

    It's late, you're a few in...
You're in the rush and have to hop the L...
You're strapped for cash, but don't want to cook...
    Who do you call?
    Anna Maria!

It's that good old standard slice. The glimmer of grease, nicely melted cheese, and thin crispy crust. Anna Maria offers you that norm anytime with consistency and they have a lot of options for toppings. Their heroes aren't so bad either.

The service is extremely lacking (kind of rude and a bit rushed) and the price is high considering the standard quality of their nature. The deal here is getting a pie (much cheaper than by the slice.

If you have time or it's normal human hours... walk four blocks south to La Nonna (a bit more pricey, but quality and and service are their M.O.). But when you're in a pinch or it's time for that ill advised second dinner... Anna Maria is a safe bet for that good ole' slice.

What do you expect from a late night pizza shop that is by the slice?

This pizza should come with a warning: extra greasy! But I assume that if you are buying a slice of pizza at 2am (or in the morning after your crazy night) greasy is exactly what you're looking for.

Each slice is pretty cheap...starting out at only a couple bucks, but has tremendous value for its super cheap price. The slice I had came with potatoes, ricotta, chicken, tomatoes, roasted garlic and other yummy goodness. The boyfriend had a ceasar salad slice, which was kind of cool. Usually my experience is that über cheap pizza slices are just cheese with a few token toppings...this is way more than that.

Beware that the interior is a bit dirty and the communal toppings (red pepper, salt, parmesan, ect) are like eating in a cafeteria.

Like all fast food late night dives, it's a bit gross (in the same way eating at McDonalds is kind of gross). But if this is the kind of thing you need, it's really goes the extra mile.

Came here after a night of drinking in Williamsburg and the pizza here really hit the spot. Wish i got a chance to try their plain slice but their combo slices were awesome. The combo slice were $4 each which was completely reasonable given how huge and enjoyable each slice was. The service was great and they didn't mind entertaining my drunk friend from out of town.

I've been going to this place for years.  I think it was here in the mid-nineties when wburg was still nascent, and huge DJ dance parties would be hosted in empty warehouses.  Those have all moved to bushwick now, but this pizza place is still an old favorite.

This is thin-crust goodness, not too cheesy.  The taste is so rich between the tomato and cheese that I wonder if they put msg in their sauce.  haha seriously it is excellent.  One of the best takeout places I've had.

Oh and if you happen to be in the 'hood on Friday or Saturday night, this is a great place to people watch.  9 or 10pm you can see hipsters, and 4am you can see drunk hipsters!   It's a show.

One of my go to places for a late night snack. It's right next to the L train and the B62 so for me it is very convenient to stop by before heading out for drinks.

The slices are HUGE. My favorite is the meatlovers piled high with meat it is great. The regular slices are big as well.

The only downside is that the specialty slices because they are so huge don't really crisp up or warm through. The workaround for this is to get a pie for pickup. They don't deliver to my neighborhood, as it is too far away but still I think they're awesome.

Again this place has been around since that section of Brooklyn was called the Northside so the only people who have problems with the attitude are newbies who just don't get it.

For an adequate dramatization of the area check out "Laws of Gravity" a good movie about north Brooklyn white guys.

If you are in williamsburg late at night, especially if you've been drinking, you should always keep anna maria in mind.  it has been so incredibly clutch for me in the late night hours, oh so many times.  would i go back in the daytime, with a sober palate? Ehh....Once in a while ;)
Let me break it down for you:
-the pizza: perfect in so many ways; nice thin crust, tasty sauce, great cheese content, great toppings choices.
-the staff: kill the experience for me.  buncha 'tuff guys' who continually yell "Next! Can I Help You!" in your face while you are blatantly still trying to figure out what you want.  Overall, rude and rushed service.
the 'ambiance': buncha schwillbag hipsters eating pizza, the place is kinda dirty.

All these points considered, I couldn't give this spot any less than four stars.  I find myself craving their pizza from time to time, regardless of the staff.

I was here at 2AM and it's crowded with young drunk party animals. The place is just "wild" - tables everywhere, screaming folks etc.

Why we were here? We were starving and it's the only convenient restaurant to go to.

Everybody were ordering pizza but I ordered pasta instead. It took like 15 minutes for my order and there's no waiting area so we were just standing on the crowded wall... and this drunk people are either stepping on your foot or flirting with you.

The pasta that I ordered is not good (I didn't like the sauce). Order pizza instead (because that's what everybody is ordering). 2 stars because I paid like 6 bucks (?) and it's good for 2 people. Good compromise.

This is, hands-down, the BEST pizza I've had. In. My. Entire. Life.

I average 5 slices of cheese pizza per week.  Incidentally, I live close by.  This is probably the most significant blessing god(s) have given me.

I take every single visitor of mine here.  Every single visitor raves and raves about this pizza.

OK, I've had it.  I'm not gonna go into further detail.  I'm gonna go order an entire god damn cheese pizza right now, and I'm going to eat it.  And all will be well.

We were in the area and wanted to grab a slice somewhere, nothing fancy.  This place looked just right so we decided to give it a try.  Ummmm............no.

The tables here are filthy and there is no parmesan cheese to be found.  Everything in the dining area is coated in grease.  I eat at really unsanitary places all the time, like in Chinatown and from carts, but this place surpasses the dirty that I am used to.  I put up with it at places that have good food, but the pizza here is not even decent.  Why bother?

The sauce is too sweet.  If you get anything but the cheese pizza there are so many drippy toppings that you cannot even pick up the slice.  And don't forget that you will have some major bubble guts kickin' within thirty minutes.

Sent it back because it was cold and soggy and spongey and weird and weighed 3 pounds from the grease.

Got it back from the oven, and it wasn't any better.

So naturally, Gave it to someone on the street...

But I felt bad for giving them such a bad slice.

I was looking to grab a slice and after visiting a place whose pies didn't look too fresh, happened upon Anna Maria!  WOW!  They had a huge variety of pies to choose from with a fresh plain coming out of the oven at 11 pm at night!  That's a star in my book!

This is your typical New York slice, but the crust was a bit different than the typical---a bit doughy.  Sauce to cheese ratio was 1 to 2, and as I'm a saucy gal, wasn't thoroughly satisfied.

They have both Coke and Pepsi to choose from and the crowd was exactly what you'd expect---20 somethings with expendable income sprinkled in with a few hipsters and musicians.  I can't believe this one girl who obviously thought she was Carrie Bradshaw, talking at the top of her lungs with her Long Island accent, eating her slice with a knife and fork---ugh.  Didn't make for a pleasant dining experience.

I think it may be a bit difficult to get a chair around in here...especially down the thin hallway which leads to the restroom.

This review is about the mozzarella pesto slice.

If you like cheese, pesto, and pizza, I order you to get this slice of pizza.  I have never tried anything else from this establishment because I fear that any other choice will be inferior and I cannot risk mediocrity.

Try it.  If you don't like it then you are sick and need a doctor to provide an antidote.  Something is wrong with your tongue or your brain and I recommend you immediately call 9-1-1 for help.

If your dietary restrictions allow this slice to be consumed and I meet you and you tell me that you did not like it(with sincerity) then I will shake the hell out of you.  I will tell you to snap out of it and I will ask which government or sorcerer has done this to your thought process.

I won't give up on you.  I know you can be helped.

There are about 10 different types of pizza by the slice ready for you to take. The guys working behind the counter have the art of service down to a science. It's well-balanced playful interaction at its finest without crossing over to the "hey look, im just buying a slice of pie from you".

I have even took two slices with me on an international flight.

This place is regularly packed. Partly because Bedford Ave is gentrified off its face. And partly because the pizza is quite good. I typically get the pesto mozzarella. It's one of the best slices I've had in New York. Some of the pizzas have too much on them and the slices weigh 3 pounds each. I recommend sticking with the more basic slices. Even the cheese slices are excellent. Great sauce and cheeses.

I've had mixed experiences here - some good slices, some mediocre slices - but a couple months ago I had AN.AMAZING.SLICE!  My friend and I stumbled in looked for the freshest selection and chose whatever looked good - to our surprise we got the chicken cesear salad pizza.  I would have never ever ordered such a thing - but we both LOVED it.

    What I would expect:
-Crutons soggy - nope!  Crunchy as can be..
-Might have been my cocktail consumption but my anticipated feeling of guilty carb overload (croutons + crust) was non existent.  The slice felt and tasted very balanced.
-Lettuce + pizza = flavorless waste of time?  Lettuce was fresh and crisp - added a delicate texture I found quite complimentary.
-Cesar dressing on pizza?  Gross. - Not true, in fact whatever white sauce they had going on melted my hearrrrt.

Big slices, lots of toppings, you get your moneys worth.  Great for late night.

Working the area I've had more time to get sorted with Anna Maria and I've come to realize this place is B-U-S-T-E-D.

The cheese is that kind of stretchy kind that's not warm flavorful richness but rubbery stretch-armstrong.

The specialty slices fall apart because the bottom crust is weaker than a case of the rickets.

Either go to Driggs Pizza or south on Bedord to La Nonna.

Forgive me...I was wrong endorsing this before.  Not worth it.

BARF. This place is so lucky to have it's location. Right by the subway, so everyone that doesn't know where to go, just flock to it.  Place is grody, the slices are soggy and they try to make up for lack of taste by loading up the slice. So then the slice just falls apart all over you. The service is pushy and mean and they treat you like asshole cattle.

Smart people walk one extra block down to N9 for Vinnie's. Delicious, friendly and fast without being fuckbags about it.
