Two guys who used to work for Bank of Ann Arbor decided to start a new bank, so they bought the old Anderson Paint Building and started filling out the paperwork.
According to the Ann Arbor News, they'll be ready to open the doors some time in the fall.
I'm looking forward to opening my new checking account, because not only does my current bank keep charging me unnecessary fees, but they moved their headquarters right out of the state. Adios, Comerica Bank.
I think it's going to be great to do business with a bank that's local, and smaller. -

This is a great local bank. The manager, Tim, is really nice and helpful. We used the bank when we had a small business in Ann Arbor and they couldn't have been more different than a large corporate bank. The tellers know your name and the bank tries to personally help you with your finances, not just make money off of you and charge you fees. We had financial trouble with the business and they've been really understanding and kind about it. I'd recommend them to anyone.
