What a beautiful weekend at Ann and George's B&B!
We arrived in the late afternoon to be met by the greeting committee; Roxy the Queensland Herder followed by Ann and George. As we unpacked and settled into our room, we snacked on a tray of chilled fruit and cheese left for us by Ann. Throughout the weekend we came and went. We felt free to either retreat into our room or to socialize with Ann, George, and the other two guests. Each night when we came back from dinner, Ann and George had a fire going and a drink to offer. Conversation was easy - Ann and George know how to draw out their guests as well as share their own stories of family and growing up in California. The mornings were especially delightful; we really felt like old friends. Instead of just going to the breakfast table in the morning to be served, we sat around the kitchen island, drank coffee and juice, and watched George do his thing - cook a gourmet breakfast.
The property is breathtaking. The house overlooks Ann and George's Rancho De Voladores Vineyard. If you're a birdwatcher, you won't be disappointed.
Ann and George, thank you so much! We will be back! -

We came here for our two year anniversary. The city of Paso Robles is great, wine tasting was magnificent, dinner at amazing restaurants. Nothing beats the experience of a wonderfully cooked breakfast from George and the conversations with Ann. From the first day you step into their home and when you leave. There is something you will take from the experience of knowing two of the most amazing people in the world. They have a dog and a cat roaming around the house. Please keep in mind, my wife and I are both allergic to cats but we loved the atmosphere so much we just managed through it. I highly recommend Ann and George's B&B to anyone who wants to get away. The instant you step into their house, you are family. There is no price to that experience.

We found this lovely B & B through a last minute internet search the day of our stay. We knew we wanted to stay in Paso Robles for the night and had done no research. We found Ann & George via google, read their reviews on tripadvisor, spoke with them on the phone, and were sold on their B&B within 5 minutes.
You can read their story on their website, but Ann & George are the loveliest couple with the loveliest home! Their home overlooks a gorgeous vineyard and is located within minutes of hundreds of wineries and vineyards.
Ann and George have added all the perfect touches, from the cheese, fruit, and wine in your room when you arrive, to the outdoor fire at night. Each guest also receives complimentary tastings and wine discounts at wineries throughout Paso Robles (we made good use of this!)
We enjoyed getting to know Ann & George, and spending our evening overlooking their gorgeous property. They also have a fantastic dog Roxy. -

Anne and George are quite possibly the sweetest people you will ever meet. Their rooms are clean and welcoming. We were impressed by their excellent recommendations for wineries and resturaunts. Georges breakfast was amazing, and their hospitality was phenomenal. Their vineyard is absolutely beautiful; you will feel like you're in a fairytale. It's also very very close to all the best winieries.
I wish I could give them more stars bc 5 doesn't give them the credit they deserve. We can't wait to go back! -

Our favorite B&B we've ever stayed at! George and Ann are salt of the Earth people that you instantly become friends with.
The views from the back patio over the vineyard are amazing. You just can't beat a night of George's cooking and sipping a glass of wine while overlooking the vineyard!
A must stay for anyone to Paso Robles! -

We were last-minute trippers to Paso Robles and found this B & B through Google. Their pricing was about the same as the local hotels and we had never stayed in a B & B so we thought we'd give it a shot. We were NOT disappointed.
The house is perched atop a beautiful 80 acre hillside amongst vineyards and oak trees. The home is quaint. It feels like you're visiting your grandma (albeit, a well-off grandmother :-)). The rooms are comfortable and inviting. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a fruit/cheese plate. When they heard it was our 12 year anniversary, they gave us a bottle of champagne - very sweet couple!
The house boasts two rooms. The downstairs room is best suited to a couple with one bed and bathroom and a private entrance. The second room is located upstairs. With a bathroom, one double-bed, two twin beds and a sweet little crib (literally), this room is perfect for families or a "girl's getaway" weekend.
Also included in the room are a variety of complimentary discount cards for local wineries. And if you need recommendations, just as Ann. She's a wealth of knowledge.
George is about 81 and does a lot of work outside tending his vineyards and working on their huge property. He also makes a yummy breakfast. True to California cuisine, the plates were presented beautifully with an artistry appreciated by foodies everywhere.
Ann is a sharp, gracious, 77 year old firecracker. She manages the cleaning and keeping of the B & B and converses heartily and easily with the guests. She is truly delightful and boasts 4 children and 13 grandchildren. After over 55 years of marriage, I would say this couple has wisdom we should all be so lucky to soak in.
The location is perfectly situated off the beaten path - literally. The dirt roads leading up to the top of the hill are slightly treacherous. Our Prius made it to the top without mishap, but we commented that any very low-to-the-ground sports car would have difficulties. And definitely plan to arrive during the day as the signs are easy to miss in the dark.
Roads non-withstanding, town is just a short 10 minute drive and many wineries are within a few miles making this an ideal location for your romantic getaway to wine country. -

One of the best B&Bs I've been to. You stay at Ann & George's house sitting at the very top of a tall mountain overlooking their 100+ acres of Vineyard located (nestled?) in the back hills of Paso Robles. Ann & George are super friendly and it's a great place to get some inside advice on the Paso wine scene. Ann & George are truly two of the most wonderful people I've met. I've been there twice.

My husband and I stayed with Ann and George on the first two nights of our honeymoon. They were honestly the two best nights of the entire trip. Ann and George's home is located on a hilltop where you have gorgeous views of vineyards and hills. It's the perfect place to go if you want to escape the sounds of cars and don't want to be in a crowed hotel.
They make a really wonderful breakfast in the morning, provide you with a cheese/fruit platter in the afternoon, and always provide great conversation. Oh, and the wine is great too!
We really felt as if we had made some friends on this trip. They are very social and friendly people, as were the other couples who stayed at the same time we did. When we arrived at our next destination that was filled with scary teddy bears, we considered calling them and asking if we could return. Whenever we return to Paso Robles, we will definitely stay here.
There are lots of wineries close by, and you get lots of coupons for free tastings, so if you like to drink as much as I do, you will have an awesome adventure. Guaranteed. -

My wife and I live in Sonoma County, and we wanted to experience a wine country get away in another California wine growing region, Paso Robles. If this is something you want to do, start by booking a room at Ann & George's B&B. As you wind your way through the narrow roads that lead you through the vineyards and up the hills to this B&B, you find yourself wishing that this was your home that you were returning to.
When you park your car, you will be officially greeted by Roxie, the family dog(be sure to give here a tummy rub). Roxie will introduce you to Ann and George in short order. Their home/B&B and surrounding gardens are beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. The view from the deck overlooking the vineyards is spectacular. And while sitting around the fire pit at night, you will see more stars than you have ever seen. In the morning you will be served a breakfast that will carry you to lunch. But more importantly, you will enjoy the time spent with Ann and George. They are warm and generous people who seem to be more like your mom and dad (or grandparents depending on your age) than the innkeepers of this great B&B. -

If you're looking to (a) get away from urban noise and stress, (b) find a charming and unique place to stay as you go winetasting on Paso Robles' Westside, (c) meet two of the friendliest and helpful hosts in the world, and (d) discover the rustic, rural nature of the central coast, come to Ann and George's B&B!
The most dazzling part of their B&B is the spectacular location. Tucked far into the rolling hills southwest of Paso Robles, the B&B overlooks acres of vineyards (also owned by Ann & George) and is blessed with a panoramic view of the valley below. Without any neighbors to speak of and far from city lights, you also get breathtaking starry vistas on clear nights, all to the sounds of crickets chirping and owls hooting. You can enjoy this on the backyard patio, whether on the little benches on the grass or lounging on chairs by the crackling fire pit, sipping a complimentary bottle of wine (Ann gave us a bottle of 2009 syrah from Justin Vineyards). You can look forward to waking up to the twittering of birds in the morning, not the rumble of passing trucks. And if you're here in Paso for winetasting, you're in luck - the B&B is located right among all those new boutique wineries that have been sprouting along nearby Vineyard Drive and West Highway 46!
The B&B itself is gorgeous and new, in a house less than 10 years old with all the amenities of modern living (Wifi, air conditioning, LED lighting, none of the electrical or plumbing issues you might get in an older place). We were in the upstairs loft atop the garage, which was spacious, wonderfully furnished and cozily decorated in the way only an older couple with decades of family memorabilia can. We slept in a very comfortable bed and enjoyed a complimentary cheese and fruit dessert plate every evening in addition to the excellent multi-course breakfasts! Ann & George take care of every little detail, like leaving a winestopper and bottle opener on the tray with wine glasses, or having cute little books to read in the bathroom, or leaving filter paper in the room's coffeemaker, or a very well stocked refrigerator for our own use. If the weather's good, you can even count on breakfast served outdoors on that spectacular backyard patio!
And of course, Ann & George (and their dog and cat!) are the best! Ann is vivacious and friendly and talkative, and happy to help with any part of your stay, like having coupons for free winetastings, or where to find good wineries or restaurants to visit. George is just as friendly (if a little more quiet) and makes great breakfasts! We had delicious french toast and fresh-baked scones, along with fresh fruit, juices and coffee, scrambled eggs, crunchy bacon and sausages. Be sure to ask them about the local winemakers - Ann & George know many of them personally, having sold them grapes, and it's so much fun to hear stories about the people behind Paso's more famous wineries!
Just one word of caution - Ann & George's is located on a little dirt road a few miles off the nearest paved street, so be sure to follow the directions posted on their website, watch carefully for their strategically-placed signs to direct you, and if at all possible try to get there before nightfall the first time you arrive. Aside from that, if you can get a room at Ann & George's, do it - you'll have a truly unforgettable B&B experience!
