Some of the best Mid-East BBQ I have ever had, no joke. My friend had a http://restaurant.com coupon so we checked it out. Let's just say that we left as happy campers.

We ordered two BBQ plates: platters of delicious meaty heaven. Their selection in general is vast and prices are great.

Last time I checked there is still a http://restaurant.com coupon for Anmol; I bought one. You should too.

I am always super nervous with a restaurant that has used http://restaurant.com coupons and Groupons. This is usually a red flag and warning to avoid - I was proven very wrong with Anmol.
    Take out review:
We went with the Chicken Chargu which is a whole chicken (Amish) basted with delicious spices, garlic and ginger (kind of similar to the flavor of tandoori chicken) and for around $15 with tax is a great buy. You can have the chicken fried or done on the tandoor, running with the fried.  The chicken also came with a super basic green salad and some tasty sauces.
The service was warm and efficient. I would advise to call in orders in advance as the preparation time is quite long.

Recently joined a group for dinner at Anmol. Having eaten Indian food before, Pakistani sounded similar. My fellow diners were happy to explain some basic differences between the styles.

We ordered the combo platters, na'an, and a couple sides. The food was tasty. The space was casual and open which lends itself to larger group seating. The service was friendly, attentive, and not rushed. With conversation flowing the result was a pleasant dining experience with new friends.

I used a daily Groupon as an excuse to get us over to Anmol for lunch. Having checked out the menu before we came, I had a pretty strong sense that this was going to be a meaty mcmeat-meat kind of lunch and I was correct.

We each ordered a barbecue platter. Mine had Tandoori chops (meh), grilled fish (quite good), chicken shashlik (very good and tender) and Bihari Kabob (tender and very spicy). Christopher had a platter with Malai Boti, Hara Bhara Chicken, Kastoori Chicken, Chicken Gola Kabab, and Beef Gola Kabab. The best was the Hara Bhara Chicken. It was made with mint, and was very tasty. The other items were good too, but the Hara Bhara was a stand out for him.

We also ordered garlic naan, which was good, but pretty typical of what we have had other places. The papadums and veggie platter with sauces that come with the meal were good. To be honest, I was glad we had them because we had to wait a very long time for our food. I get and appreciate that everything is cooked fresh to order, but my one issue that keeps me from giving it 4 stars was that there really could have been more attention paid to the table. We sat for long stretches of time with no one checking up on us, and there was only one other table of customers in the whole place.

I will try Anmol again because I really enjoyed the food, but I think I may opt for carry out because we did not really enjoy the dining in experience.

I wasn't expecting much from Anmol. The boyfriend and I were hungry so we played the "random restaurant on Yelp" game. Fortunately, we won this time.

The first thing I noticed - it was crackin'. The restaurant was almost completely full of people having a good time, lots of families and large groups. The food looked and smelled delicious, and even better, everyone looked like they enjoying it. Time to throw down.

The second thing I noticed - the employees were EXTRA nice. They greeted us with sincere smiles, and really, I mean really, seemed happy that we were dining there. Even though they didn't seem to need our business much, they treated us like we were Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

Third thing - prices are cray cray status cheap. We went a little HAM on ordering and we ended up being comatose full without burning a huge hole in our wallets.

Next - the food. is. delicious. We ordered an Anmol Platter, Chicken Biryani, Onion Kulcha, and Chicken Pakora. Everything was well cooked and full of flavor. The Chicken Biryani was pretty spicy, but still delish.

Like I said, I wasn't expecting much. Look up "no frills" in the dictionary and there's a picture of Anmol. White walls, plain tables and chairs that look like they were bought at a hardware store and DASSIT ("that's it" for those who don't speak Maurica Rodriguez). But the food, prices, and service wil keep me coming back again, and again, and again.

Anmol is a rare gem and relative newcomer on the pakistani culinary landscape. The ambience is typical but what sets Anmol apart from the others is the homemade style cooking. Most pakistani restaurants are losing their quality and substituting "shan" masala mix for a majority of their dishes. I judge a indo pak restaurant on three items: mutton biryani, chicken boti and chana daal.
Mutton biryani was awesome. Nice mix of spices and generous portions of meat.
Chicken boti was flavorful and tender. The best I ever had in my life.
Chana daal was simply good. A nice compliment to any dish.

Unassuming by decor/sign, but don't be fooled. the food here is easily the best on Devon! The grilled items are delicious, naan is warm and buttery. Best dish? Butter chicken. Wow. Chicken and mutton karahi were delicious as well.

Go to Anmol, you won't be disappointed.

    1) it is a little bit far away from the whole Devon Brownies scene.
    2) the decor is simple yet elegant enough.
    3) Clean bathrooms and servers

We ordered 2 platters of BBQ, Brain masala, Frontier chicken, Daal Gosht (its lentils with meat), and Nihari.....The food took longer than expected but they claimed that it was due to the fact that they make everything fresh, and truth be told except the Nihari everything must have been half cooked otherwise it would take a couple of hours to make this stuff....

Anywho, the bbq was good, the frontier chicken and Nihari were A-Ok, I've had a LOT better Daal Gosht but the thing that struck me the most was that the Brain Masala actually had a Fishy smell to it, I'm guessing since they make the Brain Masala practically in the same dish as they fry fish it got some of that smell in there as well....All in all the food wasn't bad, but a bit pricey.....for a $100 I can cook for an army!!!!

Sorry to be a downer but out experience at Anmol was not up to the hype here on Yelp.  The food was good, but nothing to rave about, you can get better nehari and larger portion at Sabri and better Kabobs at Khan BBQ.  Portions were also on the smaller side compared to other places.

The real kicker was they had a coupon on a Muslim version of Groupon that they gave us problems about.  We called ahead and asked if we had it on our phone, was that okay?  We were told yes as long as it was an iPhone (since it is not an app, I don't see why it matterd) but we had an iPhone.  When paying we were told it was only good for certain hours, which was not stated on the coupon.  Then told we needed to print it out, we called in and it was okay.  Then told you could not pay with a credit card.  DON'T OFFER COUPONS/DISCOUNTS IF YOU DO NOT HONOR THEM.  And even after the discount it was still more than Sabri???

Needless to say we will not be back, anyone want my other coupons???

Excellent BBQ Items and Chicken Biryani. We tried BBQ Plates 1 and 2 ...both were awesome, would recommend the second plate more though. We also ordered butter chicken and that was very good too. Only thing you must keep in mind is that with BBQ items, food takes time to cook...ours took about 30 minutes.

Staff was very welcoming and overall  I would really recommend this restaurant.

Being a huge fan of Indian and Pakistani cuisine I tend to head to Devon quite often. After discovering Anmol from a recommendation of a friend and http://restaurant.com, I fell in love. I've went there about 10 times at this point, and it's always my #1 choice for going out to eat.

The top dishes I get are are 1) Chicken 65 2) Chicken Boti 3) Chicken Biryani 4) Chicken Frontier Rice

All the deserts and appetizers I've had did not disappoint, especially the Kheer, delish!

I'm a bit biased because I like chicken more than red meat. :-) But, I do have to mention that their chicken is Organic from an Amish farm, which is a huge plus and another major reason why I love eating here.

The above mentioned the dishes because they are always a winner. Wasn't too much of a fan of the Karahi and chicken tikka there, but I still give the restaurant 5 stars because with the dishes I order I'm always extremely happy.

Portions are very generous and I always come home with leftovers. Lucky me, I get to eat Anmol 2 days in a row! :-)

It's a bit off the path, but I really liked it here. I came with a http://restaurant.com gift certificate, so the food ended up being very inexpensive. The GC allowed us to try various dishes without breaking the bank. I liked everything I tried, and the garlic naan was heavenly. Their service was friendly and you could tell the owners take pride in their work. I'd return again without a GC.

I came to this restaurant on one warm summer night last year. I had never been to an Indian restaurant before and wasn't sure what to expect. DISCLAIMER: jaywalking on Devon is SCARY- be careful! My one cultured friend took care of all the ordering; we had chicken biryani, chicken tikka, and of course, the legendary NAAN. The first thing I noticed as a n00b was obviously all the spices that are used and how spicy the food was! Thank God for my ice water! I am a chicken-a-holic and was in love with both dishes. Chicken biryani is essentially yummy  Indian fried rice. I also ate the naan as if it was water. The chicken tikka was my favorite; they were chicken wings that were red hot spicy. Also, the service here is spectacular; there are waiters literally waiting for us to finish eating to clear our tables. All in all, I am now on a mission to explore Indian cuisine and will definitely be returning!

We got the grilled malai chicken kabobs, karhai gosht and chicken 65. The food was very good but the biryani was a letdown. It was so bland. Place is nice. The waiters hover around you way too much and this place has a heating problem. But other than that its pretty good

The boyfriend and I were in the mood for some curry and I suggested we try this newish place I'd seen on Devon. We were very pleased with the results.

We wandered in at about 4:30 on a Saturday and at first we had the place to ourselves, however, more people came in as we dined.

When we sat down the wait-staff brought us papadams with three sauces, sweet tamarind, yogurt-mint and tamarind cilantro and a platter of cucumbers, tomatoes onions and lettuce.

We ordered the #1 and #3 platters which were $12 each.

Platter #1 consisted of 2 tandoori goat chops, a nice fillet of tandoori spiced fish, 2 Chicken shashlik kebabs and some very spicy (beef) Bihari.

Platter #3 consisted of Malal Boti (chicken breast marinated in spices, ginger, garlic & lemon juice), Hara Bhara (chicken breast marinated in green herbs & spices), Kastoori (chicken breast in a mildly spicy sauce) and beef and chicken Golas(2 each). Golas are ground meat mixed with onions, garlic, & spice etc and made into a cutlet and cooked on a kebab. The chicken gola was yogurt mint & cilantro and the beef had jalapenos in it. So, both of these items were probably the most spicy of the items we tried.

Now, I LOVE spicy and hot food, but it strikes me that some might find so many spicy cuts of meat a bit overwhelming at one time. However, we DID order the assortment of lots of spicy bbq'd kebabs, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Staff was excellent about making sure our water glasses were kept full, which we appreciated as we completed our meal.

This is really a carnivore's paradise. They serve goat, mutton, chicken, beef, shrimp, and organ meats. Still, vegetarians can enjoy the dining there too, as there were at least 6 non-meat dishes (curries & appetizers), and several types of naan, paratha and kulcha. The plain Naan is no longer free with a meal ($1 a person) but the helpings are generous.

The meat here is Halal, which I'd never had before. I've heard some people say that such can be dry and tasteless, but I didn't find that to be the case. Also, the chicken is organic and hand-fed by Amish farmers.

We both agreed that the chicken was extremely tender and succulent but the best dish was the fish fillet.

The service was good, as I mentioned before. In fact, I heard one of the other diners complain that his food was cold, and they promptly brought him a brand-new steaming-hot dish of food, with no quibbles.  The decor was a trifle spartan, but given the quality of the food, I didn't mind it.

We were very happy with the portions, (ended up taking half of it home) and walked out of the place stuffed and happy. I'm definitely recommending it to my friends.

So my brother found out about Anmol from a couple of friends and am i glad he did! Being a desi (South Asian) i would know about good Pakistani food and boy a boy this is the best it can get... well on Devon at least. I have probably been here 6 to 7 time dine in and to go well i think i have lost count, well to tell the truth i just fail at math. But every time we have been here we have always ordered there Platter 2 which includes  seekh kabab, reshmi kabab, chicken tikka, chicken boti, and chicken wing! Mhmm.. just makes my mouth water thinking about it. Over all there Chicken Biryani is the best i have tasted so far, there Karahi Chicken is delicious and there Naan is just too good. I would recommend this food to everyone yes even if your not desi it's excellent.

When this place opened up a while ago it was great, prices were good and portions were good and taste was good.  As the years went by the prices have skyrocketed to Sabri Nehari standards.  Most items were $7.95 to $8.95 such as Chicken Mukni (butter chicken).  Now everything is $9.99-$11.00 for a dish and does not include nan(bread) rice or anything.  The taste was amazing as well, I use to love the chicken boti recently I had it again and its just like any other place now, instead of using spices and taste they smother it so much chilli it's so damn spicy u can't taste anything and just burn your mouth. Adding a crap load of spices and chilli does not make it taste better!!!!  a few years ago this place was a easy 4 stars now with the decline in taste, portion size and increases in prices it just gets 2 stars...

I heard this is the place to come to for Paki BBQ in Chicago.  I came here with 4 adults and a baby.  The food is on the cheaper side for Paki/Indian restuarants which tends to be overpriced, in my opinion.  The nihari was tasty, which we were a bit surprised by since we weren't expecting good nihari at a bbq place.  Make sure to order naan to go with your bbq and dig in to the bone-in chicken.  We asked if we could get white meat but the waiter said they couldn't do that...The baby became fussy half way through dinner but none of the diners seemed to mind.  Def. a family freindly place.

    Excellent food.

Fresh, clean, delicious, very well prepared.

The only issue was that they took a really long time to prepare the food.  I prefer they take their time and do it right, but it just indicates a lack of organization when they take so long.

We do keep going back because it really is very good food.  Lots of meat dishes.

I was directed to Anmol by a very nice taxi driver who told me about this place after I mentioned I wanted to try different cultural foods, and I gotta say I'm glad he told me about this place.
    .
I went with some buddies of mine and we weren't sure on what we should try and our waiter recommended some Onion Kulcha for appetizers that was absolutely delicious. They even provide a spicy red sauce that I found myself drenching everything in.
    .
NOW ON TO THE MAIN COURSE!!! the food was Deeelicious!! and a bonus is that they can make it SPICY (droll)...I recommend the Mutton Briyani (goat with rice), or If you want to try a wide variety of their menu then the platters are for you, which contain all sorts of meats on them. I must mention the Tandoori Charga a chicken dish that was soooo good and moist (as I'm writing this I'm starting to crave it).
    .
What more can I say this place, at first was intimidating but quickly became an enjoyable experience with some amazing food.

Anmol isn't much to look at on the inside of the restaurant which is the case for most of the restaurants on Devon but  it isn't ugly. For everything lost in that regard the food and service make up for it and then some. I had the number 2 platter which was a great. Very flavorful and large enough for two if you have an appetizer and a few of their fantastic naan. Prices are very reasonable and you leave full and happy. The front man Sonny is a great host. Getting to basics, have the Palak Paneer. It was much more than I had expected from this Indi-Pak staple dish. The Chicken Kahari was also awesome. I should've got a side of basmati to go. Check it out. I'll be back soon for certain.

The restaurant and ambiance is minimal.

We had to wait for some time to pickup our food but it was well worth it.

There are not too many  Pakistani restaurants on Devon so this was a welcome surprise.

We had Anmol Platter #3. Except for  chicken gola kabab everything was good. We ordered chicken handi also which was good also.

Another bonus point for dining in is that they serve unlimited Nans.
