We ordered from the one on Hwy 49...
We called in a pretty large order for a Saints playoff game. I was a little nervous, most of the folks in our group had not tried anJacs before. Ordering was a breeze. Pickup was a breeze. The folks were super nice. After not spilling anythign in the truck, we got to the man-cave and set everything out. It all dissapeared faster than free cupcakes at an obesity convention. Good thing I set a little bowl aside for myself...those ravenous noodle-heads would have gobbled it all up. Give it a shot, it aint bad at all!!! (Possibly a notch better than the Shed. EEEKKK but true!) -

I didn't have the BBQ, but a po boy and gumbo. It was ok. I wouldn't call it phenomenal, but I would certainly go back.
The gumbo wasn't worth it, personally, from the gumbo I had in New Orleans.
My friends had pulled pork and all liked it, though one thought it was a bit too sweet.
Be sure to look hard for the place, it's hidden away in a wear house or complex of some sort, and worth a taste. -

My buddy over at the DA's office took me over to try some BBQ at AnJac's today and I must admit that it was an excellent lunch dining experience. Located a street north of the Gulfport Post Office on Courthouse Road at the very end of a multi-use industrial complex, this is a one of Gulfport's hidden gems when it comes to BBQ.
They offer cater and very fast take-out, but their dining area is cool, welcoming and spacious. They just began a $6.99 blue plate special deal this week which they change daily and promises to be a delight.
The staff is very friendly, genuine and brought our food out in a jiffy. Whether your looking for lunch on the go or a place just to go watch the game Anjacs has a variety on the menu that will satisfy any meateater's appetite.
While many feel that BBQ is hard to mess up, You won't find tender, juicy BBQ at an affordable price anywhere else in Gulfport. You will fall in love with the BBQ sauce, but don't fret you can take it home by the mason jar and be the BBQ king on your block.
If your on the Coast and looking for a great lunch spot, Anjac's is your spot!!! -

(this review is for the AnJacs outside of Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, not the one in Gulfport)
I went here recently when I was in Biloxi on business and had the ribs. Being in Mississippi, I was expecting some really good BBQ but I left here a little bit disappointed.
I didn't think there was anything that distinctive about the taste of the ribs or the sauce and I also thought their prices were a bit steep for the amount of food that we received.
I can understand why the locals may like it, but I have had much better here in Atlanta. Based on the reviews I have read, I should have went to their Gulfport location and eaten there,LOL. -

Simply the best BBQ I've ever had in my life. I was recently in Houston and tried a place that supposedly had the best BBQ in Texas and it didn't hold a candle to Anjac's.
I stop by there once every few weeks just to buy a jar of their BBQ sauce because it's so much better than any store-bought brand. I love their pulled pork sandwich (The Porker) and their baked beans are the best I've ever had.
I couldn't recommend this place enough. -

I have to TOTALLY agree with Remy when he says
"this is a one of Gulfport's hidden gems when it comes to BBQ"
NO JOKE!
Pulling up to AnJac's I was thinking to myself "oh brother, this is going to be interesting" it really did look like just a carry out BBQ place.
Was happy to find seating off to the right, and the service was EXCELLENT. Food was equal to the service.
Oh and can you say twice baked potato?? Oh yeah! I'm in love.
Sure wish it was closer to home but will definitely take the drive to fill my BBQ desires here -

Northridge, CA
Well, Gurovich Roadfest '07 is over. We logged more than 6000 miles in 17 days, traveling out of Northridge via Needles, Albuquerque, Ft. Smith, Atlanta, Tampa, Gulfport, Monroe, Midland and Scottsdale.
Sheila was always gracious as she let me try out a few Barbecue places along the way, and I found a real stand-out with Anjacs in Gulfport, MS!
Located not too far from the still wiped out shoreline, Anjacs is nestled in an unassuming yellow, multi unit structure near the Gulfport Post office and Courthouse. While it seems to cater to take-out and parties, there is a very nice and clean eating area with a lot of magazines, newspapers and a television to bide the time. This place is nice and homey, unassuming, and everyone in the place is so friendly that I'm sure we're all related!
Drop by for the atmosphere, but we're here for the meat. Anjacs has a variety on the menu from Beef Brisket, to Hot Links to Ribs and Pulled pork. My Wife ordered the ribs and I had a combination that included the aformentioned pulled pork, brisket and hot links.
FANTASTIC. It's hard to mess up barbecue, but when you get it right, it is REALLY right. Anjacs gets the meat right, and it has probably the best barbecue sauce I've ever had. So good I bought a bunch of it, which they sell on site in mason jars, and brought it to my buddies back here.
A strong endorsement comes from my daughter, with whom I have tried in vain for years to eat something out of the range of corn dogs and macaroni and cheese. Seeing her face besotted with sauce as she devoured half a rack of ribs is 'nuff said.
Also recommended is the bread pudding and red velvet cake (a southern specialty). Both are awesome. Anjacs is only a few minutes south of I-10 in Gulfport -- it's worth the detour! -

I dream about this place and compare all other BBQ joints to Anjacs. I started coming here as a very small girl, and I made it a point to visit every time I came back to Gulfport from my world travels.
I'm so glad it survived Katrina (even if it's not in the old 2nd Street location. -

AnJac's has some very good pulled pork. The potato salad is truly amazing too. I always thought they could get a more restaurant-like location and more main street frontage, but that doesn't have anything to do with the food. Best BBQ in S. Mississippi.

This place has been in business for well over 25 years. They've moved a few times, changes ownership a few times and opened a few new locations over the years but one thing stays the same. That delicious sauce! When i think of southern BBQ, this is what i think of. Do yourself a favor, buy a pound of brisket with sauce on it and sauce on the side with a side of baked beans and you'll thank me later!

Their BBQ was delicious the 1st time, didn't have the same flair the 2nd time around. Their minimal staff was very pleasant the afternoon we drove over. Can't say that I'll return anytime soon.

I was so impressed with this place! We walked in to what looked like a take-out place, but to our right was the long tables to sit after ordering our dinner. I ordered the pulled pork plate with coleslaw and sweet potato fries, my husband ordered a full rack of ribs. All I have to say is WOW!! I could not stop eating my dinner... great touch to have cookbooks to thumb through while I waited. Not only did I find some great recipes to try at home, but it got my stomach READY for food. The BBQ sauce was fantastic. Reminded me of Sonny's Real Pit BBQ, which I miss all the time. I will go here again and again. I can't wait to try everything. Side note, the guy who took our order was so nice and patient as we mulled over the menu choices. Coleslaw was amazing, one of my favorite combos is pulled pork and coleslaw. I could have used more bread, but next time I will just get a sandwich. And a mason jar of sauce.
Place is not where maps say it is. We got lucky with finding it as the directions would have taken us somewhere completely different. Just head down Pass Road, right on Courthouse, and its on the corner of 29th and courthouse. across from the post office.
Enjoy people! -

Best BBQ on the Mississippi Coast. I had the Mad Pig Pulled Pork and the sauce was just excellent, nice and spicy, with wonderful flavor. The twice baked potato was also just as good with a cheesy garlic mix. Certainly a place I'd like to go back to for lunch.
