I drove 5 miles from the Comfort Inn in Denver, PA (by the Turnpike Reading exit) down Reamstown road toward another fine restaurant where I had previously dined. After driving through gorgeous Amish farms and stone houses, I saw three parking lots all marked Donecker's Parking.  I figured there must be something special here and decided to stop. I am glad I did.
The restaurant was recently reopened by Anita and it is now officially renamed "Anita's at Doneckers".  The chef is from Napa Valley California. I never had a more impressive meal.
It was such a pleasant evening, I chose to eat on the sidewalk.  The traffic on State Street was a bit heavy, but there were local children walking or biking by at regular intervals giving this town a family atmosphere.
I started dinner with the Wild Mushroom Cappuccino, a bisque of wild mushrooms and cream topped with a truffle foam and essence of morels. Then Anita's House Salad comprised of mixed greens, cranberries, walnuts, tomato and raspberry vinaigrette. After the salad, I was brought a sorbet to cleanse the palette.  The main course was Fennel Pollen Seared Salmon with saffron risotto and sauteed vegetables.  Each course was outstanding.
I decided to try their Marscapone berry cake for dessert.  I couldn't finish it, but it was also good.
I will definitely come back to Anita's at Doneckers.

    Anita's is CLOSED.

Interesting that my former one star review has completely vanished from Yelp.

Anita's was a business catering to non-locals with cash to burn (just like the Donecker's clothing empire).

Turns out that a reference to the infamous Donecker's name wasn't a positive and this business didn't last long.

A new family restaurant is now open on the site under a different name (that thankfully does not have the 'D Word' in its name.
