I brought my 15 year old Maltese here about 3 months ago and they took such great care of him. Although he had a lot of health issues, they did everything in their power to make him comfortable and happy during his last few months with us. He passed away two weeks ago and they made the process of losing my precious dog very easy and extremely comforting. I was able watch him and see his last breathe while maintaining social distance and wearing a mask. Today I received this extremely thoughtful sympathy card from the staff. Thank you to everyone at Animal Medical Hospital and a special thank you to Dr. Warren & Dr. Jordan.

The doctors and staff at Animal Medical Hospital in Hempstead are as close as they come to miracle workers.
I brought in a pit-bull that was completely lethargic and looked like she was on her death bed (the day before she was running around like a maniac). It was an emergency situation and they were just closing for the night, but the staff stayed late just for her and found a large tumor in her abdomen. The doctors made sure they did what they could to get her through the night and had me call if I needed anything.
The next day I had an awful decision to make, but they talked me through all the options she had and what the outcomes might look like. I agreed to have her go through surgery and it turned out to be the right choice. She had a large mass that was removed and the lab tests revealed that is was a benign tumor. She's now back to her normal self and acts like nothing happened.
The staff treated her like she was their own and throughout the process they were always attentive and would checkup on her to see how she was doing. They literally went out of their way to help my dog and for that reason I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with a pet.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Howard H.New Milford, CT04Jun 8, 2017
We have been going to Dr. Wyler at the Animal Medical Hospital for 37 years, ever since we adopted a dog from North Shore Animal league that had parvo virus. After a week in the hospital he came home skinny but alive and well. We have been clients ever since. Over the years Dr. Wyler and his staff have cared for 6 dogs and 2 rabbits for us with great compassion.
I can't recommend Dr. Wyler, Mike, Lisa and the rest of the staff highly enough.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pat C.Hempstead, NY87019Oct 8, 2014
Awesome doctors and staff!
Brought a month old feral kitten in back in May whose eyes were glued shut from bad eye infections. Met with Dr. Wyler who was gentle with her, treated her and took the time to explain everything to me. It took a long time to get her infection cleared up. Unfortunately she was left with permanent eye damage but she has some vision and otherwise seems like a happy kitten. Each time I went the doctor took his time with her, explaining everything to me. She went through a lot and is now a permanent member of the family. The day after every visit the staff calls to see how she is doing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for care for their pets.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie L.Manhattan, NY1271528Apr 18, 2017
After going to this vet for over 2 years and spending over $1,000 with them, I am now being harassed over the phone regarding "non-payment" of my bill. I took my dog to the vet this past Friday for his vaccinations. After checking out and swiping my card the woman at the front desk tells me that charge did not go through and that she would need to swipe my card again. I hand her the card and she swipes it again, I sign for the transaction and leave. On my way to my car, I notice an alert on my phone indicating that I was charged $200.01 twice for the bill. I walk back into the office and let her know what happened, she apologizes and checks the system on her end to see if she sees both charges, she then voids one charge. I then call American Express on speaker phone in front of her, so she can hear it, to confirm that the card was indeed charges twice. They confirmed both charges and said that they would note the account so that only one charge would post. I let the woman at the vet know that I would also be monitoring my account and if both charges fell off I would contact them to make payment. I even put in daily alerts on my phone to remind myself to check it. Now, on Tuesday, the second business day since the charge I have already been called 4 times. The first 3 calls I let them know that I was still seeing both charges on my end and that I would call them to pay the bill if neither of the charges ended up going through. Today I was called again and during this conversation the woman on the other end put 100% of the blame for the unpaid bill on me.
She proceeded to tell me that their administrator does not like unpaid bills and that they harass the front desk staff to obtain payment and in turn the front desk staff harasses me. She literally said this!! This is not okay. I have ZERO history of not paying and THIS WAS NOT A FAULT OF MINE! They refuse to own their mistake... they should have NEVER swiped the card twice. While I can understand that their policy is typically not to have open balances, this was not a typical situation, not to mention this was not by fault of the client, but their fault in the first place. Instead of them being patient with a loyal client I am being harassed and I do not appreciate it. I let the woman know that I had no intention of not paying, in fact, I PAID TWICE so if she could not call me for a couple of days so that thing could clear themselves up that would be great. I do not control how American express allocates their charges, they needed to own their mistake and they didn't. They just lost a loyal customer. Be very weary of businesses that do not appreciate client loyalty and will do whatever they have to squeeze a buck out of you.
And for those from Animal Medical Hospital who are reading this, I reiterate that I have no plans of not paying the bill, but as of now I have $400.02 of pending charges from you. When those charges fall off the account I will contact you to make payment. I bet you'd rather that I add another $200.01 charge for a total of $600.03 for 4 vaccinations, but I am not doing that. Have some patience, you were WRONG!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Stephanie,
I am very sorry to hear that you felt harassed by our front desk/reception staff members. I have looked into the matter in detail in order to better understand what occurred.
Upon checking out, your credit card was swiped and our system did not show a successful transaction. After confirming this, the receptionist asked to swipe your card again which appeared to successfully go through on our end. Once you got the notification from your credit card company showing two charges, you came back into the office and asked that we remove all of the charges from your card and the receptionist did as you asked. Once we removed the charge, our credit card system showed that there were no successful transactions and that payment was still due.
It is our policy to follow up with all of our clients the day after each visit to ensure that their pet is doing well and that there are no further questions. Customer service is important to us and it is our pleasure to give all of our clients' personal attention when it comes to their furry family members.
I see here in our notes that one of our receptionists called you on Saturday morning (call #1, the day after your visit) to see how your pet was doing after receiving vaccinations and afterwards asked if you had received any notice from your credit card company since we still did not receive payment. You let her know that you wanted to wait 36 hours from the original phone call with your credit card company to see if the payment processed.
A receptionist from our practice called you this Tuesday afternoon (the second phone call following the original appointment follow up call) to ask if you had heard back from your credit card company about the pending charges. Unfortunately, she was not able to explain much as you became very frustrated that she was calling. She explained that we still did not receive payment and after checking with our merchant account, we were simply calling to follow up on the matter.
I appreciate your frustration, but do not feel that our staff members calling you once since the general appointment follow up call is harassment and I once again apologize if you were offended by this, it was not their/our intention.
I will gladly further look into our merchant website to see why the glitch happened in the first place and why the first charge did not show as being processed.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further assist you.
Sincerely,
Christina Travalja

My family used Dr. Wyler with our previous dog, Rocky and now we take our dog Bowie to the practice! We usually see Dr. Jessica Chandler, who is lovely, caring, and attentive. Bowie is very well-taken care of here. The vets are always happy to address our needs and availability for appointments is very good. We always leave with our questions answered and the comfort of knowing that Bowie is receiving the best veterinary care out there!
