Board certified Avian Veterinarian, exotic and small animal doctor, Dr. Simon Starkey is the lead veterinarian of our Avian and Exotic Center. He is the only Board Certified Avian Veterinarian in Queens, Brooklyn, and The Bronx. Dr. Starkey is available for primary care cases, second opinions as well as referrals.

The Animal Medical Hospital's residing veterinarian, Dr. Douglas K. Wyler, brings over 30 years of veterinary experience to his patients. We are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a prestigious association that prides itself in its standards for hospitals and pet health care. Animal hospitals that are AAHA accredited are regularly visited by trained consultants to verify compliance with the association's standards for services and facilities.
Every one of our staff members shows unequivocal compassion for animals and maintains a deep understanding, appreciation, and knowledge of veterinary practices. We are strong advocates of preventative animal health care, and our goal is that your animal lives the longest and happiest life possible.

Meet the Business Owner: Douglas W.
Founding partner of the Animal Medical Hospital. A graduate of Cornell University and The University of Bologna Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wyler has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1975.
Dr. Wyler has had extensive post graduate training in surgery, both soft tissue and orthopedic, as well as radiology, dermatology and internal medicine. In addition, in 1999 Dr. Wyler completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society's course in Acupuncture. Dr. Wyler's training in laproscopic surgery in 1997 and video otoscopy in 2001 has added a new dimension to the level of care provided to our companion animals, not possible before without the latest technological advances in video endoscopy.
