They were my vet for years and they do a fantastic job. They took such great care of my pets and really had a clean and professional clinic. I highly recommend them to anyone who has an pet.

I've been taking my two dogs here for about a year now since I moved to Ashburn. Although they are super convenient since I live right next to the shopping center they are in, I recently decided to switch to another vet.
It seems to me that these guys gouge their prices. My dog recently tested positive for Lyme and I needed to pay for a more elaborate test to figure out how serious it was. I was shocked at how expensive the test was going to be. I took my dog to another vet and the exact same test was offered for considerably less. In general, I've noticed that my spending on vet fees this past year has gone up drastically from my previous years.
Also, the vet at Ashburn Farm Animal Hospital that I normally see doesn't seem to provide the friendliness and personal touch that makes you feel confident about him handling your pets.. My previous vet (and my new vet) have much more warmth in their personality that makes me feel great about bringing my dogs to them. -

Been seeing Dr. Grasso for 7 years. We and the dogs love her and respect her. She is devoted to her profession and the animals and she is sensitive to us humans as well and the difficult choices animal care can mean financially. It is so comforting having a go-to family Vet -- getting to know one another through the years and knowing that the animal care and advising is unquestioned.
That said -- this place is pricey (though comparable with others in Ashburn I priced around a couple years ago) and we have had to wait sometimes 1/2 hr (to even 45 min one time) but we are patient since the Dr is worth it and I am mesmerized by the huge aquarium in waiting area. (If being seen right away is important to you -- I recommend asking them what time is best -- we usually go peak around 5pm.)
If you are concerned about pricing -- definitely let them know that in advance and that you would like to question what is really needed vs suggested -- to balance cost vs risk & benefit. They have been great in doing so with us -- but that is only upon request. Otherwise -- be prepared for shocking bills (true at nearly any other Northern Va Vet hospital). -

Are you looking for a homeopathic holistic minded vet? If so, this is your place. Dr. Pam Grasso is wonderful. She's a vet who operates with homeopathy, relying on traditional medicinal remedies (antibiotics, etc) only when absolutely necessary. We over-vaccinate and over medicate our animals, while most issues can be managed by adopting changes in diet, supplements, etc. Do your pet (and your wallet) a favor, and get off the daily drugs. This isn't a stuffy-feeling veterinarian, instead, it's a great place where all the receptionists, techs, and other vets are really there for the love of your animal. Have you ever seen your vet crawl around on the floor with your dog??? Pam did...for no specific reason...and my pup was in love.

Having just moved to Ashburn from Arlington, I can't tell you how impressed I have been with Ashburn Farm Animal Hospital. I took my dog in the first time for a check-up of a suspicious looking bump, and Dr. Johnson could not have been more attentive and thorough. I even received a phone call a couple days later to see how my dog was doing post-appointment. Unfortunately, about 3 weeks later we had to return due to an expected medical problem, and we were able to get an appointment on a Saturday (thank goodness!). We saw Dr. Melberger (as he was the doctor working that weekend), and he was absolutely wonderful. Again, extremely attentive, equally as thorough, and did a great job of educating us on the problem, why it happened, etc. He was so gentle with our dog, and did a great job of calming us down. The front staff is so warm and friendly, too. I am so relieved to have found a place where I finally feel comfortable taking my dog and knowing she'll receive excellent care.
