I bring my pup here for routine checkups with Dr. Battiato.
The good: wait time is usually minimal, Dr. Battiato is awesome (my dog hasn't seen the other docs yet), clean exam area, appointments seem to be readily available.

The Cons: The vet tech staff and front reception people can be a bit rude. This varies though because the first time I saw the doc here back in 2006, the vet tech was super sweet and really helpful.
Prices are bit more than other places but in my opinion, worth it because the doc is thorough.

In summary, Dr. Battiato is thorough and I would continue brining my dog here for his yearly checkups. I also like the Humane Society of NY (Manhattan) for more afforadable dental checkups and surgeries.

Bitchy receptionist.  Just from calling the place I know I don't even want to be bothered going there. The moment she answered the phone in her quick, bitchy tone of voice, I already knew I was dealing with a Brooklyn princess.  I felt like I had 10 seconds to tell her why I was calling or she was going to hang up on me.  I have a senior cat that I am unable to take out of the house because he turns into a vicious dog that will scratch your eyes out.  I asked her if the staff can handle a cat like this, and she responded, "Of course we can."  I can't assume that, now can I?  I asked if it's possible to sedate the cat before bringing him in because my cat turns to another being as soon as I take him out of his territory.  Plus, there's no way I can even get him into the carrier.  But she was quick to say they don't do that.  Fine.  I asked how much does it cost, and she said $47 for the office visit regardless of whether or not the doctor can even get close to the cat.  Doesn't sound too reassuring.  She couldn't wait to hang up on me as soon as I thanked her.  Click.  That's ok, I'll take my business elsewhere.
