Dr Larsen is great. She loves my cats, espesially my orange tabby boy. I could tell she was really concerned when she noticed he was 18.5 lb during annual physical..... However, he lost 3 lb during the year and Dr Larsen was happy the next time....
She loves animals.... During the exam, she did all the checking while playing with them.  Cats are happy, I am happy....

Dr. Larsen is a GREAT vet. She is patient, caring and thorough. My dad and I brought our 11 year old dog (Heidi - a pitbull mix) to her center yesterday and she has already followed up with us twice in regards to her condition (including 8 pm on a Friday night - to make sure I have all of the info as soon as possible). I would recommend her to everyone.  We did not receive good news in regards to our dog's diagnosis, however, she was sensitive to our feelings and explained in detail our dog's condition, possible treatment options and the reality of what she has (cancer). She was GREAT with our dog, Heidi. Heidi was very comfortable with her and you can tell she has a great ability with dealing with animals, and their owners, in a loving way. I also found them to be affordable and Dr. Larsen gave us a couple of options to chose from. If you want a great vet that cares about your beloved pet as well as the pet's caretakers, I would highly recommend Dr. Larsen and Animal Health Center (the whole staff was friendly and very helpful - and kind). She was referred to us by a family friend that has been to three other vet's in the last two years. She is his and now our, #1 choice for our pet needs. I consider myself a pretty critical person and I think I have written three reviews for service in the last decade. I was so impressed with Dr. Laura, that I had to write one for her.

Very impressed.

Our 16 year old cat has been a patient of Dr Carole Larson since 1992, he was a stray and Dr Larson has taken very good care of him, he is still going strong.    Have no idea who the 'other vet' is mentioned in the other review, our experience at Animal Health Center has been great with all of their personnel.   On the rare occasion that we need to board our cat we always feel comfortable  boarding him there.   They also have reasonable prices for the special food required for our cat as compared to other vets.

Dr. Diane Ammon is the best vet! She only works on Tues and Wed from 9am-12pm.  The other vet is awful.  She is mean, performs services that are not asked for, and refused to accommodate my request for a prescription because of her own personal opinion.  I looked online and was able to buy it when she said it was taken off the market.  I did complain and they didn't charge me for the visit.  The ladies at the front are very nice and helpful.

I took my precious Candy, my now 11 year old toy poodle, who weighs just 4.5 pounds to Dr. Carol Larson when she had diarrhea last year.  She treated her well, and gave her an over all physical while we were there, and after the prescribed dosage of the banana flavored anti diarrhea medication Dr. Larson gave to us, Candy recovered after 3 days.

I've got nothing against Dr. Larson, but she seemed a little bit unemotional.  Is that normal?  I mean, yes, she petted Candy, and yes she assigned Candy a designated birthday when she found out that Candy didn't have one (I only adopted her 2 years ago) but she seemed to be a little too stoic.  I had planned on getting Candy's teeth deep cleaned, having 2+ teeth pulled out of necessity, as well as having some periodontal and blood work done on her, but I'm concerned.  I want the staff and especially the doctor to be extremely understanding and caring over my apprehension of having Candy fully sedated and under general anesthesia.  I'm afraid that Candy won't wake up from the anesthesia since she is so small and so old now, I've heard of some horror stories of other pet parents having gone through this.  I also want the doctor to understand that I give Candy vitamins on a daily basis and not to be dismissive about it.  Maybe its just my oversensitive "mommy" instincts... still like Dr. Larson and her team.

By the way, they are located on El Camino Real and Scott Avenue in the Marshall's Shopping Mall.

*Update: took Candy in to Dr. Larson for two xrays and her yearly physical.  She has an enlarged heart, not so abnormal for a 4 pound toy dog, and a collapsing trachea, which was so interesting to see on the xray, and which also causes Candy to sort of have an uncontrollable "honking" episode a few times a day.  Candy seemed to warm to Dr. Larson, and Dr. Larson cooed and played with her for a while this time.  Candy needs to take heart medication on a daily basis and took liquid antibiotics for her prep for dental surgery, which was scheduled a week later.  The doc who performed Candy's dental surgery was Dr. Carmen, who I love!  She seems so caring, and gave me a follow up call to make sure that Candy was eating the next day.  She also did not take lunch and operated on Candy, even though I brought her in at noon, and they released her at 2:30 pm.  Candy looked as though she was still searching for the 11 teeth that were pulled, but otherwise, she looked a lot better than before.  Plus, her rotting meat breath went away, yay!  No one likes the rotting meat breath!  In fact, her breath made Dr. Larson's eyes roll to the back of her head and recoil in horror.  Maybe that's why Dr. Larson was a bit wary of Candy last year???  The rest of Candy's teeth were nicely deep cleaned and polished.  The staff also clipped Candy's nails while she was sedated, so that was also nice.  So I'm a full 5 star happy with her vets!
