Why has no one else reviewed Gilbert? He is amazing! I started seeing Gilbert about a year ago. (I moved and now my previous hair stylist is too far ... Then I got a bad haircut from someone else at a different salon.)  Gilbert is always professional, always cheerful, always remembers things about me, and he makes me laugh. You can tell he has a great heart. But most importantly, he does a phenomenal job cutting my thick, unruly hair! It goes from being a frizzy mess to being sleek, shiny, and straight in less than an hour. Gilbert is the best!

Went in for a shellac mani and fusion pedi.  5 days later, both look fantastic.  I will ONLY do shellac manicure's from now on.  They're spendy, Aniko's is $50 but, I've never had a manicure look great this long.  According to the manicurist, they should last 2-3 weeks.  Bottom line, WORTH IT. Pedicure, also spendy ($45) but, still looks great.

The one thing that troubled me was the woman who did my mani/pedi was having a bad day, I think. She was super rough when cleaning my cuticles and they bled.  She said it was because my last manicure was so poor.  I don't know, but, she was a little rough on my nails.

I was 10-15min late for the appt (i know, I know - bad on me) but, I called ahead as soon as I got stuck in traffic to let them know. Maybe this was what annoyed her- i dunno. Maybe she was rushing because I was late.  But, if that was the case, I would've rather stuck with just one service instead of both.

I will go back and give it one more shot. I'm so pleased with my nails (days later) that it seems silly not to chalk the other stuff up to an off day.

I've been to the salon a few times...the staff is rude and disorganized, plus the actual cuts and colors are average at best.  Plus, they spend half their time trying to up-sell you on other services and products.
in fact, the last time I went, the stylist gave me a conditioning treatment that cost an extra $30 without even telling me there would be an additional charge...sneaky bastards.
Plus, I've always had to wait at least 20 minutes from my scheduled appointment time before they get started.
The salon is in the neighborhood and I like Redkin, so I've given them multiple chances, but now I'm done.

After patronizing a girlfriend who cuts hair in the suburbs, I think I FINALLY found an awesome stylist after she decided to by a full-time mom.

Luckily, my friend gave me a referral to James at Aniko!  I had been growing my hair out for my wedding and had finally decided to get a wife chop. I was pretty embarrassed that my hair was so overgrown and lifeless, but James said he was ready if I was ready and wasn't all judgy when he saw my mane.

James is so personable and professional and gave me a fantastic haircut that I'm still getting compliments on--four weeks later. I just went in today for a bang trim (my bangs appear to grow faster than the rest of my hair, blah), and asked the girl at the front desk if James had time for a shampoo/style because I had a gala later that night. Luckily, James squeezed me in and sent me home with a fantastic blowout :)

I also had eyebrow wax w/Cosmina in the spa last time I was in. She was quick and my face looks so much better!

Aniko's prices were more than I had been paying, but really affordable compared to some other salons in the city.

I can only comment on my hairstylist and the salon, but Amanda H. is as good as they get when it comes to stylists.

    Some Highlights (hahah ;) )

She is super smart and will explain the chemistry behind hair dye, etc. to you while she's doing it so you can know WHY she chooses what she does.

She has GREAT advice when it comes to hairstyles/colors. I like a stylist I can really consult with when I'm thinking about getting a haircut since I like to change it up a lot. She has good advice and is clear and diplomatic when she thinks I have a bad idea!

I never get anything but compliments on the styles/colors shes done for me from short to long and from blonde to redhead.

My favorite part about Amanda though is her great personality. She's just so darn likeable! She is pretty, friendly and always keeps the conversation interesting. She also always remembers lots of details about your life so you feel special. And she never tries to push products/extras on you so you can trust her recommendations!

The salon itself is really nice. They always offer you a glass of wine when you come in and they have a really good magazine selection. I've never had a problem with the front desk staff myself.

I live in the South Loop but never thought to go to Aniko for a massage until I was in desperate need and called them on a whim and got right in.  The receptionist was very friendly and the place was clean, but my therapist was AMAZING.  Ask for Kennisha if you want a fabulous deep tissue massage.  She gave the right amount of pressure and was very knowlegable.  She talked a bit in the begining but then she let me zone out.  All in all I will go back.  It's not the same experience of a high end spa, but if your not planning on making a day of lounging in a quiet room with magazines, cucumber water, and fresh fruit give it a try.  The massage is worth it!

After checking the reviews on Yelp I gave this South Look Salon a try and thank goodness. Crista is an amazing stylist. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair and she was took the time to review my hair texture, shape, etc with me. Rather than looking through pictures and trying to find a cut she explained to me what is possible with my hair and made some suggestions. She has a ton of energy. It was overall a fantastic experience. I'd highly recommend.

Some reviewers posted this salon is expensive. It was $65 for a cut and style, which is pretty standard in the city.

This is a review of the hair salon.  To be clear, the spa and salon are two completely different locations....the hair salon is a few doors down from the spa.  I first walked into the spa which appears to be first rate.  The hair salon on the other hand seems to be a high end great clips.  Of course I can only comment on the one person that cut my hair, but it is one of the worst hair cuts I have gotten in years....b/c I don't go to great clips.  It was clear from the start, she did not have a lot of experience.  We talked about what I wanted and then she proceeded to butcher me.  Lucky I'm a guy and it will grow out but I have thought of going somewhere else just to even it out...it's that bad.

I would question the entire establishment b/c if my person was that bad, they clearly do not screen their stylist.  I only gave them 2 stars instead of 1 b/c the people were nice and overall service was good and they offered me a glass of wine.

I hate writing a bad review against nice people but people need to hear that this is not a high end salon.

I just love this spa so much!  I truly look forward to getting my nails done to relax and have good conversation accompanied by great energy!  Johanna is the best!  My nails never looked better and it lasts 10 to 14 days!  I love the fact you can go to a spa  and someone can listen to you and not be catty about things!  very rare!  Cheryl at the front desk dose a great job making people feel comfortable and at the same time she "runs a tight ship"making sure everyone is taken care of  and the girls being happy!  Thank you!

I found this salon using yelp and THANK GOD I DID.

I was lucky enough to get squeezed in on a sunday morning and JAMES ROSKO took THE BEST care of me.  He gave me an amazing cut, and I went back a week later for color.

I will be with him till my hair falls out because he treats me like a beautiful person even if I go in there looking a hot mess, I always leave feeling beautiful !

HE is amazing worth every penny!!
Ohh and last time i was in I heard a little bird say they may be doing an upscale reality TV show there !!!

After dawdling about for 8 months (what was I thinking?) I finally dragged my sorry scalp to Aniko last weekend, and it was a great experience.

The ladies at the front desk were very sweet, the chair at the sink was one of the most comfortable ones I have come across, and my stylist James deserves two thumbs up.. He took the time to listen to what I wanted, added his thoughts as needed, and the end result - a super easy-to-maintain haircut. Given that I spend, umm, about 5 seconds setting my hair while rushing out the door in the a.m., this worked out perfect.

Don't forget to ask about the first-time client discount. 20%.

Needed a spa day on my trip here from Dallas and this spa did not disappoint!  Had the body detox wrap and a mini facial by esthetician, Cosmina.  Front staff was very professional and accommodating and the experience was worth every penny!! Highly recommend!! Even sent my husband there the next day!! :)
The only reason it's not a 5 star review is that I thought the relaxation area wasn't that great...it was kind of small.   The good thing is that is not a big deal - the service was 5 stars all the way!

I have gone to aniko for several different reasons - mostly because I live (literally) right next door. But honestly? I don't know if I would go there if I didn't. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options in the south loop.

    1. hair cut: great - 4/5 = awesome! I am super picky about the way my hair looks and the stylist got it perfectly right.  However, even with a 20% discount, the $80 total was crazy high.

    2. hair style: 1  /5  = I went in to get my hair styled and curled for a formal event I attended for work.  It looked amazing for the first fifteen minutes before it all fell out before I even GOT to the event.  Its annoying when you tell the stylist that you're fairly certain its going to fall, she assures you it wont, and then it does anyway. This also cost $50. - It was going to be $70 but I had been promised a lower price by accident.

    3. Brazilian wax  1  /5 = RUN NOT WALK AWAY. This had to be the most excruciating wax I have ever had!! It took a full 30 minutes and was sooooo painful. Absolutely terrible - never EVER again. The only positive was that the results lasted for a fairly long time.  If looking in the loop area for a Brazilian, go to Wax by Eva.

This salon was pretty good- expensive but they are great about monthly discounts and sales.  They were also good about giving first-time customers extras as an initiative for them to return.

I got some lowlights with Gil....I made the appointment that day (impulsive decision, for sure).  They look pretty good- pretty generic and safe.  He knew what I wanted- but I got the feeling it was a pretty run-of-the-mill service he could have done with his eyes closed.  I like it when sylists get a sense of who you are and what you are trying to express when they color your hair- I'm not asking too much, am I?  The process also felt pretty rushed- the shampooing was rough and fast  and I got the feeling that Gil really wanted to be done with work for the day (don't blame him).   I'm just not really rolling in money and when I make the decision to go to a salon for something, I'd like it to be special.

Overall, it was a good experience.  I like my hair (but I don't love my hair) and everyone was incredibly considerate and friendly and the space was comfortable.  I may go back, but I would choose a different stylist.

Okay...I really hate to do this but I have to give this place a bad review.

I got the "Shellac" manicure ... (which for those who don't know is similar to the non chip manicure that is supposed to last for 2 weeks). Well, for starters it lasted for 4 days. ....no joke. Not to mention the lady who did my nails had to redo them 4 different times b/c she kept messing it up. AND to top it off this bad boy costs $50.00. a $50 manicure that lasts for 4 days...I might as well have gotten a regular one for $25.

Anyways, it's a cute set up & the other employees were really sweet and I'm sure I just had a nail tech who seriously sucked.... but nonetheless I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.

I went here with my mom and was not pleased with my experience. We each got a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow waxing.  The girl doing the waxing was great as well as my mom's nail technician.  Mine was not good at all, and I don't know her name since she never introduced herself.

When I booked our appointments the girl I spoke with had a really hard time deciding how she was going to fit us in (even though we ended up being the only people there) and once we arrived she had forgotten to book one of my mom's services.

The pedicure area is different- you are sitting on a bench and it's not too comfortable but not terrible.  I would prefer a massage chair.  The fabric of the bench is visibly dusty and stained, and it's not very relaxing.  My nail technician decided to take a break while I had the paraffin wax on my hands- she left it on for some ridiculous amount of time like 20 minutes until my hands were red and itchy, and when she returned I realized it was because she decided to eat her sushi lunch while I waited.

The receptionist was not too friendly either upon our arrival, and I think she was the owner.  The waxing was good, nails turned out looking good as well, but for the service and atmosphere I won't go back.

5 Stars for the spa - it's relaxing and calm. I had a really nice eyebrow wax and the lady's procedures didn't even upset my super sensitive skin. I really enjoyed this.

1 Star for the salon - I got my hair cut on Friday. You might notice something is wrong when there are 2 chairs to sit in the "waiting" area - one is almost inaccessible and the other is smack next to a stylist's heating tools.

The consult process and wash was fine. I asked for chunky straight texture, since my hair is naturally straight and I don't like to fuss with it much in the morning. Bonus - the stylist's hair was very similar to what I was talking about, so I added "just like yours!"

Somehow this gave way to a 45 minute styling session where my hair was round brushed to the point of borderline Farrah Fawcett. But it was cute enough, so I let it slide.  She assured me that it would fall just as nice if I didn't have time for the styling.

I should have complained on the spot; it's now Monday and the only way my hair looks decent is in a ponytail. This is the reason why I went in there in the first place! I have tried blow drying with a round brush, hair products, straightener, everything except a curling iron. So since a curling iron is cheaper than a new haircut, I guess I will go get one tonight and see how it looks.  Either way, I don't have much time in the mornings to get something decent and it's obvious that this haircut will not look nice without some time investment.

I'm down $80 and my hair is almost more lifeless and sloppy than before. :(

So, I did have the longest lasting brazilian wax of my life here, but it was also the most painful! Eek!

I went in with a groupon or...I don't even remember. Some discount. Anywaysss, I also got a facial, which was fine. I am kind of bored with facials.

During said brazilian, my esthetician could not seem to hold her horses to wait for the wax to dry before trying to rip it off. Seriously. Like, 6 times this happened. I do not lie.  Oh, please don't pull that off only half-way...nOOOOOoooooo...it's not ready!

But I will say this - the best waxing results ever. What the hell. It's also the most expensive brazilian I have had (er, the discount sure helped..whatever it was).

Aniko is my go-to for haircut, color and bikini wax. I love that their website is updated with monthly specials. My recent favorite was their gift card special over the holidays. Buy $100 gift card and get an extra $25 gift for free!

Stephanie Barnes is my stylist and she's amazing. She always understands what I want in terms of the length I want and the highlights that would look best in my dark brown/black hair. And she's super nice too! My only complaint is that it is a bit on the expensive side.

Kasha is the only person I trust at Aniko for a wax. I usually get the French wax (think lighter version of a Brazilian) and she makes it pretty painless, which is amazing since that's tough to accomplish.

I've met the owner a few times and she's so lovely. Always very professional and a pleasure to chat with.

These guys have tons of experience. You can't go wrong with Aniko!

I went here for a signature mani/pedi after a 70+ hour work week (most of which was spent on my feet)..so I was definitely in need of some pampering.

This is not a quick and cheap your-in-and-out type of place, you come here to enjoy the process and walk out with very pretty hands and feet. The entire experience took about 2 hours, and I enjoyed each moment of it.

First was the pedicure in a little half circle room with lots of soaking, scrubbing, massaging, paraffin wax dipping, and polishing.  The only thing that wasn't out of this world was the seating.  It was on a cushioned bench (which was plenty comfy for what it was), and what I like are the big comfy chairs...especially the ones that recline and/or massage.  The manicure followed the same steps as the pedicure, but was in their front room so you could people watch as you got the full service.

All the employees at the salon was super nice and gave a very calming vibe to everyone they talked to, which just added to the experience.  I was really impressed with service, and to top it off my manicure lasted 7 days, and the pedicure 2+ weeks.

You know how you talk to people and they say that they were so relaxed that they felt like they were in the zone where you are in between sleep and awake but totally relaxed?  Well let me tell you about the facial I had today at Aniko!  Ellie is a new esthetician at the Spa and she is amazing!  Ellie has studied aromatherapy techniques and blends in scents specifically for you which are perfect!  She is meticulous in her technique but it is more than that!  Her movements are so fluid in massaging your shoulders and scalp and your face that it methodically puts you into a state of complete relaxation.  I have facials at least 6 times per year and to be completely honest, this was not only the best facial I have ever had, it is just about the best spa service that I have had (including massages, pedicures, etc.).  You MUST go see Ellie for a facial!

Though the staff at the front desk is nice, it seems like they've been focused on other things when I've been there and customer service has taken a back seat which is a shame.
I think the spa needs some tlc updates...more new robes, an assortment of sandal sizes and fixes to the locks in the lockers.

I stopped going to Aniko over a year ago because my colorist & massage therapist had both left.  For a year I wandered around the city trying to replace her but never found a therapist worth following.  Since Aniko is close I decided to go back and all I can say is my massage with Silvia was probably the best massage I have ever received.  I have had massages in some of the finest spas in the US and I am overjoyed that the best massage I have ever had is only two blocks away!!!   Silvia listened to my complaints and did not forget to focus on those areas, including heat and stretching where necessary.  My only disappointment was that I didn't book a 90 minute service.  My days of "dating" spas looking for a good massage are over.   Going forward, if I am in Chicago, I am committed to Silvia.

I have also had services with Stephanie (hair) & Cosmina (facial/brows) they are both awesome!

I am soooooooooo glad Aniko Salon & Spa is in the South Loop neighborhood!!!! Had it not been for the $110 special deal on YouSwoop, I don't think I would have stopped in here for any spa treatments!

I didn't really want a full body massage, and facials have always been so relaxing to me, so I booked both a face and back facial with Cosmina.  Cosmina is AWESOME!!!!! I am coming back to see her! With my back facial, I had a back massage and a scalp massage which felt so great!!! With my facial, I had an upper body massage which included my neck, upper back, shoulders and decolletage. What a treat!!! And Cosmina didn't push me to buy any products which I really appreciate! I'm so glad I had the chance to come here!

If you use their lockers, make sure you remember which direction the teeth of your key is going.  I had trouble opening my locker because I had the key teeth downwards, but the lockers work with the teeth going upwards. Weird!!!

The changing room/locker room was very relaxing. They even have individual bathrooms with showers for ultimate privacy!!

I hope Aniko Salon & Spa stays in the south loop forever!!

I would give a three and a half if I could.  Most of my experiences here have been really good - 5 star-worthy.  But one was so awful that they're lucky I'm only knocking one star off...

The bad first:  I went in for a hair cut and to get my highlights touched up.  Hadn't been here before.  The cut was fine, but the woman turned my (dark brown with partial golden/caramelly highlights) hair BLONDE.  Completely not what I asked for.  And when I complained to management, the only thing I was offered was to have the same woman fix my hair.  Um, no thanks!!  It was really expensive to get it fixed somewhere else, but I just don't look good as a blonde.  I don't think this hairstylist is still there (at least her picture isn't on the website)

Fast forward 9-months.  I'm desperate for a haircut.  I took a chance and called Aniko because it's nearby (after all - the cut wasn't bad, just the color).  This time I was with Gabrielle.  She was great!!  She gave me a glaze to darken my color a bit because the fixed highlights had turned brassy and a great haircut.  I'll definitely come back to her.  I also have had my brows waxed by Cosmina who is fantastic!  And I got a great massage...

I bought the YouSwoop and came here for a 90 minutes Swedish massage.  From booking the appointment, to arriving and leaving, it was an excellent experience with great customer service.  They had a nice, relaxing locker room and had a great relaxing waiting area.

Tracy was excellent.  She came in first and asked on what she should focus on and what I was looking for.  Plus - she delivered and it was SO relaxing! It was just lovely overall and I didn't want to leave. I would definitely go see her again.

I'd give it 4.5 stars because it is a bit more expensive - but you definitely get what you pay for!  I'd still shop around for a deal.

Finally!  I luxurious spa in the South Loop!  I went here yesterday for a massage.  FYI- for first time customers you get 20% off your service.  Be sure to mention that when booking.  They also have a holiday special going on for gift certificates, i.e the service was so good that I bought a $125 gift cert for $100-check the website for more details on their current promotions.  Who doesn't love a good deal in these hard times?

One thing they forgot to tell me when I booked that the salon is separate from the spa.  So I walked into salon and was directed back outside and down the block to the spa.

The inside was beautiful and tranquil.  The changing area was clean and the bathrooms were very nice.  The relaxation area could be a little darker and bigger though.

One thing that I LOVED was the huge heated massage table.  I have gotten massages several other places and I don't think I've had a large heated table.  Thumbs up for that!!!!  Also, Silvia did my deep tissue massage and for as little as she is she packs a solid deep tissue massage.

I will definitely be going back for more over there.  So good to see that the South Loop is building some fantastic stuff within walking distance!

Stephanie does the best hair- hands down- of anyone in this city. I will only go to her- friendly, knowledgable, great styling- LOVE HER!

Had some Eastern European girl do my nails next door at the spa. RUDE as hell. Acted like she was bothered the whole time. Did it really fast and it crappy. Vision Nails, a block away is cheaper and they give better service. At least smile at your client. doing someone's nails isn't the best job there is out there, but it's YOUR job so at least make an effort.

I started going to Aniko when it was Spa Ariel for manicures, pedicures, and spa treatments. The service was always hit-or-miss, so when they shut down and reopened with new owners and a new name I was eager to try, and I'm so glad I did. The staff is friendly, professional, and I don't have lost appointments anymore.

The best thing I've found, however, is Alana. My stylist sold her salon to go back to teaching and I was desperate to find someone new. I have naturally curly hair that I highlight, and am very VERY particular about who touches my hair. After coming on Yelp and reading reviews of Alana, and getting an email from Aniko on their staff, I decided to give her a try..wow. Alana is professional, friendly, she takes time to explain processes to you and offer product and hair care suggestions. I've been to her twice and love her work. I had the best haircut I've had in years yesterday, and love that she doesn't use a ton of product or too much heat. I'm just sorry that I didn't go to her when I lived down the street.

I have found a new stylist that I trust and feel comfortable trusting my hair with!

    *Amending my review*
Initially I complained about the price of a cut and color. Well the owner emailed me after seeing my review and offered me a FREE haircut. Pretty nice gesture on her part! The definitely redeemed themselves.
I just got my cut a few days ago from Gabrielle (she rocks) and I'm pretty happy with it.

I went to Aniko for the first time a few weeks ago. The salon which was there previously had terrible reviews so that's why I never checked them out. I really enjoyed my experience at Aniko. I got full highlights (2 colors and a glaze). The price for color/highlights there is in line with other high end salons.

If you go to citysearch you can get a 20% off coupon for anything on your first visit. That's what I used for my color. After I left there they also gave me a 10% coupon for my next visit.
(I'm only knocking off star because they are still a bit pricey for the South Loop area, huge amount of college, newly graduated, and young crowd=not a huge amount of cash)
Maybe they can offer a student discount, that may draw in quite a large amount of people for this area.

For my bazillionth Aniko update, I wanted to focus on my hair stylist, Patrick Daniels.

Patrick is amazing. I really can't say enough positive things about him. I've been seeing him for cut and color for over a year and a half now and I continue to be amazed and impressed every single time. Before Patrick, I would've thought it was impossible to find one stylist that does such a great job that I always love my hair, but Patrick has proven me wrong (not that I didn't love Christy, who's completely adorable, but I only saw her for about 5 months).

One of the most important things when styling hair is product. The products the salon has are just as important as how much the stylist puts in your hair. Aniko has great products, which is really important for a salon. The other factor is how much is put into your hair. Patrick gets the amount just right. I've never felt that "Oh I can't wait to get home and wash this crap out of my hair" that I used to feel almost all the time. In fact, I don't like to go to sleep because I wake up and my hair's not quite as pretty anymore.

The quality of Patrick's cuts is fantastic. He knows exactly what he's doing, what will or won't look good with my face frame, and never ever gets it wrong. Now I'm just gushing. Anyway. It really is impressive that I always leave very happy. I've never once been disappointed. My boyfriend has loved every cut almost as much as I have, which is really good because he's so picky. Also important to note is Patrick's interaction with clients. He's sweet, hilarious, charming, and smart. He always chats with me about whatever we feel like and it's nice to have a stylist who is so personable. He remembers what we did the last time, even though it's been over a month. My hair colors are written down so that if I want to do the same thing again, he pulls out the card and mixes it up.

My boyfriend and I keep bouncing around the city, but I don't think I could ever stop seeing Patrick for my hair. Even if I end up 5 miles away, I will still come to Aniko for any of my beauty needs.

    /end gush.

PS: To add to this, I've never once been asked for my credit card. I don't know if it's because I've been a client since about a month after they opened their doors, or because I've never canceled on short notice, but I've never been asked. I know asking for the cc is a new thing and maybe they enforce it more for newer clients, but as a long-term client, I haven't been asked. I wouldn't hesitate to give it if need be, I've just never needed to.

I realized that it's been a while since I last updated and how much people rely on recent reviews so here it is.

Been going to Aniko now for over 2 years, the current ownership just celbrated their 2 year anniversary and they are doing a wonderful job at this salon/spa in the South Loop. I go here for everything, cut/color ( Stephanie), waxing (Cosmina),  and nails ( Laura). Everyone from Cheryl at the Reception desk to Marti the owner is friendly and accomodating. They really know how to take care and appreciate thier regular customers. They also have really reasonable spa packages, which I will be treating my daughter to this weekend for her birthday. Really there is no better place to take care of all your beauty needs in the South Loop.

I just visited both Aniko's day spa and their salon last Friday.  It was fantastic!  I especially loved the Day Spa, which was really relaxing and decorated very nice.  The mani/pedis areas are great and would be fantastic for a small party of girls, especially the pedicure area.  Way better than one of the Asian salons.  Here are some particulars:

    Massage - Margaret -- A+
    Brows - Cosmina-- A+
Mani/Pedi - Flo -- A+  [5 days and running and still no chips!]
Overall for the Day Spa - 5 stars!  Loved it.  I'd go back in a second.

    Hair cut - Andrea -- A  - Just what I asked for.
Hair color - B -- I wish it was a little brighter but I'm also rarely satisfied with my hair coloring....she did clean it up pretty well especially given that it had been a LONG time since I did my highlights.  I think she was being a little conservative and I could have gone with something a little bit wilder.
One notable thing--their hair-washing chairs are actually comfortable, which is pretty amazing!
Hair Salon overall -- 3 or 4 stars.  Somewhere in there.

One thing that was weird, the day spa and the hair salon are not attached, so I had to run outside in the freezing cold down the street two doors with wet nails (wearing pedi flip-flops) to make it to my hair appointment on time, which seemed kind of weird.  Not exactly an ideal experience, but certainly....exciting!  I think next time I will book a day at the day spa separate from planning to get my hair done :-)  Also, this place gets EXTRA points because they give first-timers 20% off their services, so my whole spa day extravaganza was a great value, too!

This place is way out of my league.  It was a really nice treat!  I bought an online package deal here that was an amazing price, and included a 30 minute massage, 30 minute facial, and manicure.

The massage was nice, but not that relaxing (mostly my own fault since the masseuse and I were talking through it.  That was a bad idea).

The facial was wonderful.  I wish they offered a shorter version of their regular facial all the time.  My skin looked great, and I was glad that she didn't do any extractions.

The manicure was much nicer than I expected.  Usually with these types of packages they end up giving you a quick version of their regular manicure, but this manicure was perfect!

They had snacks to munch on, and water between the services.  They brought me a glass of wine during the manicure.  All in all it was a really wonderful experience!

This place is great! I'm really happy to have found a new salon within walking distance of my house.

I got a cut and color with Gabrielle, who is really friendly and cool. Not only did she do a beautiful job, but she was fast too! It was the first time that I have been out of a salon with full highlights and a cut in only two hours. (Usually it takes at least 3, and on one sad occasion, it has taken 5.) I think this may be my favorite hairstyle ever. It turned out *exactly* how I wanted, and I've been getting lots of compliments. Plus, it's a lot more affordable than any other salon I've been to in this city. I will definitely be back.

I just finished bliss in the form of a facial from the very talented Billie Luckett. This is my second facial from her, and I'm now a devotee. She is detailed oriented in how she cared for my skin, which I love, and analyzed my skin for it's specific needs. During my facial, I felt my skin being healed, nourished and revitalized; and felt my stress wash away with her techniques. She also includes a foot and hand rub which many esthecticians totally neglect, yet this is such an important part.

Billie also advised me on a regime which I desperately need for home care in between her magic fingers and talented care. But she didn't oversell me with products, rather gave me information and education on how to best take care of my skin, especially now as I get older but don't want to look it!

Bottom line is that I left glowing and my skin feels and looks fantastic (and I rarely say this!).

Accepted my spa week certificates and gave great service. Don't really like the terry cloth robes for the girls when the boys get the plush one. Loved that the shower area was like a real bathroom instead of one like a locker room. Had my massage done by Selena and it was amazing. The boyfriend enjoyed his massage as well. We'll be back.
