First of all you can't beat anything for FREE!!!!
Its a great 30 minute informative tour, the lady doing our tour yesterday seemed a bit tired so it lacked a bit of enthusiasm. You will be greeted and offered a small cup of beer to start the tour....this alone is an extra star. The tour also has a little movie explaining the process to make the beer, I thought it was very interesting and I personally learned a lot.
Well the best part was the beer tasting at the end of the tour.
They offer complimentary sodas, all different types of bottle and draft Budweiser beer and pretzels. My favorite is the Dragon Fruit Lite beer, it has a tang of peach and perfect on a summer day. They also have "the Blue" beer which is also made with a bit of blueberries but for me it was way to sweet and a bit flat. I like my beer a bit on the bitter side and frothy.
Great stop if you are in Jax. Will return back to try more beer.
For the people that complain about only getting 2 beer samples....there is a bar I am sure in close proximity to get extra beer if you like....give me a break, it's a FREE tour.... -

Free beer. Two free beers, to be more exact. And maybe a sample of something to wet your whistle at the beginning of your tour. Roll in there if your driving through JAX, it's only a short detour from the interstate. We had just missed a tour so we were told to "catch up" which seemed like the way to go. This way we could read the wall plaques at our own speed and not have to wait for a group. We caught up with the group, near the end, at the bottling room. It really is cool seeing the huge vats used to make the beer and all the machinery that goes into bottling and distributing it. Your reward for the tour is a stop in the hospitality room for your choice of (two) beer or flavored wine/beer hybrids. Some of these drinks you can't even buy yet, which is neat. They provide free bags of pretzels as well. The hospitality room has lots of comfy chairs to plop down in and some high top tables. It seemed like everyone but us has kids with them, so if you have yours with you I guess it's OK to bring them with.
The tour loses a star, however, for the unsafe ladies room and the staff's reaction to my issue. I went to wash my hands, was looking down toward the soap when WHAM! I smack my head into this ridiculously placed ledge over the ladies room sinks. Its a wooden ledge that sticks out at head level PAST where the counter stops. WTH?!? It is even painted white to camouflage it with the ceiling and wall. When I let the manager know about this he basically told me that, "Well, most people aren't as tall as you" and showed no concern. Really?!? Our female tour guide was at least as tall as me! That's a lawsuit waiting to happen! -

Two words: FREE. BEER.
The gift shop is a bit expensive.
The tour is quite educational!
If you only got two free beers out of this, it means that your group contained a significantly high number of jerks. If you chat up the staff and make a moderate attempt at being a fun person, they have no problem with handing your more than two beers. You won't get snockered, but for Chrissakes, it's FREE. BEER. FTW! -

Oh dear. You've never been on the Budweiser tour before? Let me tell you all about it. Jacksonville has a great big plant that brews all kinds of Anheuser-Bush products, like Bud and Bud Light. The tour is free and they run all day. You basically walk through the brewery and observe the beer in various states of, uh, brewing. There's a room filled with hot tanks (this room smells strongly of boiled peanuts), a room filled with cold tanks (touch the glass--it's cold!), and a huge room full of conveyor belts where they bottle and can the beer.
The tour guide will tell you about the history of the company and show you some pictures in the hallway. You can peer through the glass and watch the employees tending to the tanks like Oompa Loompas. It's all very fun. You even get to watch a little video.
They save the best for last. At the end of the tour, you pop out in the Anheuser-Busch hospitality room. It has a bar with maybe six fresh beers on tap, along with an assortment of bottled beers. Each adult is permitted TWO FREE BEERS and as many little bags of Snyder's pretzels as you can manage. Kids get soda.
The room has lots of tables and chairs and there's even a series of comfy chairs that surround a fake hearth with an eagle above it. God bless America indeed. You can take the tour as many times in your lifetime as you want, including the free beers. On occasion, we've wandered by and just missed the tour. The person at the front desk will say, "Oh, you can just catch up with the tour. Do you know the way?" and send you off to enjoy the scenery. Then you go get your free beer and pretzels.
This is a fun thing to do and a great way to drink free beer. I love watching the activity on the floor of the bottling area, even though seeing all that spilled beer makes me want to cry. -

Gift shop was WAY overpriced, however the tour was nice, friendly staff, and only 2 free beers :(
They have about 9 varieties of beer to choose from and they give you only (2) 12oz samples.... Now how do they expect you to try their 9 varieties if they only give you 2?
I hope they rethink their policy on this!! -

If you are a beer geek and don't like Bud products you should still spend the money on the Brewmaster tour for $25. Way better than I expected and it's neat to see how the big guys do it.

i'm from massachusetts. so the thing to do on vacation is to go to new hampshire or florida for vacation. on one particular florida vacation we went to the budweiser factory. where the freakin magic happens. it was kinda weird that we went, being that i was 12 and both my parents are in recovery. but this tour is what fostered my love of bud light.
this is where it all started.
god bless america.Listed in: i'll have a bud light

While it's no microbrewery, with all the charm and quaint characteristics that come with micros, it is still a brewery, which is pretty good all on its own. Really this isn't just a brewery, this is a MACROBREWERY. It is huge. Clearly, as it is one of the main factories that churn out the world's most popular beer... BUDWEISER. [Side note, the name Budweiser is actually not a real German word... the original owners made it up to make it sound more official. Ha!] [UPDATE: That little tid bit is an urban legend! Actually there is a heated dispute over use of the name, as it is also the name of a town in the Czech Republic that Adolphus Busch and his friend Carl Conrad had visited and were inspired to name their new beer after... However, beer has been brewed in the city of Budweis since the 1200's and also goes by the name "Budweiser". A legal battle still lives on today over the rightful owner of the name "Budweiser" and most all of Europe refers to the American "Budweiser" as simply "Bud". So there is the real drama behind the name!]
This is a pretty fun way to spend a day. I always find it fascinating to do something that is simultaneously fun and educational. Edutainment, as my padre would say. And then at the end you get a tasty beverage and a small buzz! What could be better?
So, essentially, you go into this massive building [passing by the giant Clydesdale statue on your way in], get put in a group, and are escorted around the grounds. You get to see all the GIANT barrels that are full of beer in its various stages of beerness. Then you learn about the bottling and packaging of the beer [if it is actually running, which I unfortunately miss oftentimes, then it is pretty cool to see]. And finally they take you to the Tap Room and give you two free beers [in 8 ounce glasses... kind of a rip, but still free].
It is cool that Jacksonville is home to such a big brewery. If you get a chance to check it out, I highly recommend it. It will give you a new found respect for Bud Light Lime, if that is even possible. -
