the anh hong locations all seem pretty consistent
came here for their banh xeo -- excellent
very fresh ingredients, perfect taste and crispness
i like a little stronger fish sauce, but i'm glad this place de-shells their shrimp (compared to ngoc mai in sf)

This review is 3 1/2 stars only because I don't have anything to compare it to.

I enjoyed dining with my family and my sister-in-law and her family.  What fun it was to try new Vietnamese food I've never had before and to go with people who actually speak the language was beyond helpful.  I would never have known what or how to eat.

We got the 7 course beef which turned out to be A LOT of food for 7 people.  Yummy leftovers!  The vinegar based fondue was super fun but I have to say the little sausage shaped beef was particularly tasty.

Yum!

This was my first time at the Anh Hong at this location, for years I've been going to the original one in San Jose. The one here was more packed and they served bigger portions. However, the food fell short in comparison to the San Jose location. The beef salad had lots of veggies, but that was it, very few pieces of beef. The mam nem was way too salty, it wasn't even the authentic Anh Hong one they usually make. That one is lighter in color and sweeter. The beef that they used for each course was also thicker and chewier which I did not like at all. Sure the portions are bigger, but it didn't taste as great. The only thing I did like better here was the grilled fish. It's gigantic! The skin was nice and crispy and glazed with honey so it had a sweet after taste. The meat of the fish was fresh and tender. The staff was really friendly and accommodating as we did have a very large party. I probably won't be back, I like the San Jose one much better.

Dude.... I LOVE MY VIETNAMESE FOOD. This place is not only a good place but a fun place to eat with family or friends. We ordered the rolls and pretty much ate family style. It was so good, the sauces, are so good but very potent for any with shellfish allergies.... But the thing that tops the cake here is the crispy catfish. That is the best fish I've ever had,  I swear, they dip the fish into holy goodness. Its crispy on the outside and soft, juicy on the inside. Its a very fun place to eat and you can have great conversation amongst friends or family or whom ever you may dine with. The price is not bad at all. The service is excellent and they are always on top of bringing things out. I love it here. Like many asian restaurants, you leave smelling like the food. MMMMMMM GOOOD!

I came here once on a weekday, I think it was Tuesday and it was closed -_-.   I ordered the pho here, its average nothing special about it.  They didn't really have any sauces available at the table, I had to request for them.  The chicken claypot my friend ordered wasn't the most appetizing looking as it did in the picture and he didn't seem to enjoy it.  I will be back though to try other things :)

I came here with the entire family for the 7 courses of beef meal ($18/person) and it was such a fun experience! The only vietnamese food I've ever had before this was pho, so I was definitely breaking boundaries with this dinner.

Our meal started off with a beef salad & a boiling hot pot to cook a platter of sliced rare beef, followed by multiple servings of beef rolls, beef sausages, & beef balls. The beef sausages went to the top of my list (only because I love any kind of sausage...***no dirty sausage jokes allowed!***). The beef porridge w/ ginger & peanuts was the perfect way to end our beef journey, even though the bowl was extremely small. The sharp flavor made up for the lack of porridge. Quality over quantity people!

The best part of dinner was dipping the sheets of rice paper in bowls of hot water. My brother's first attempt to dip his rice paper turned it into a shriveled ball of mush. We got a good laugh at his failure and felt obligated to help him with his rice paper dipping for the remainder of the night. It doesn't take much to amuse my family and myself.

Growing up, I never sat down and ate the whole 7 course of beef in one sitting.  It was until I went to LA and was able to experience it and long and behold- it's the same one right here in Milpitas.  I personally think that if you're going to come here, just order their speciality-7 courses of beef.  It's a 2 person minimum order, so order wisely. It all depends on who you're with and how much they can eat.

I love coming here with friends that are not Vietnamese because this is all new to them and when a course comes out, its really fun trying to let them guess what part of the cow that they are now eating =)

The first course is their salad which I really love.  I can eat that the whole time, but since there are 6 more courses coming out- I'd have to refrain myself from getting too greedy.  The second course is their fondue-slices of beef where you will cook in a clear broth.  You then wrap it with lettuce & wrapper (you will do this with the other courses as well).  The next 3: grilled beef lemongrass, grilled beef pot leaf & beef sausages.  They're all shaped like sausages, but my favorite is the lemongrass one.  Then their meatballs arrive-it has a little bit of vegetables in it and this is actually healthy because its steamed and the last course-the porridge.  I don't think you'll have any room for dessert after this because we normally don't so I can't tell you anything about it.

An example of how we order:
4 people = order for 2 (if 2-3 of the group are light eaters)
5 people = order for 3

I strongly suggest ordering less than the #'s of people in your party unless you want to bring food back home.

I came here with my family on Sunday, and this place was pretty packed.

We ended up ordering the 7 courses of beef meal.  All the dishes was very delicious!!

Service was really great even though they were super busy.  When we ran out of lettuce, basil, cucumber, and pickled veggies, we were given refills right away!

I highly recommend this place for the 7 course of beef meal. =)

Dinner 1 of 3 for the w/e long Mother's Day celebration! Our family loves the 7 courses of beef and the Vietnamese crepes. The owner is very sweet & friendly and service is great!
MUCH cleaner than the San Jose location but just as busy. Come early if you want a table, otherwise it's a 20 minute wait!

Yesterday answered the question for me....Milpitas Anh Hong or San Jose Anh Hong.  Winner hands down is the one in San Jose.

Yes, the Milpitas one does look a LOT cleaner and nicer, but the one on Tully just tastes a whole lot better.  It's as if the meat is more juicy and flavorful, and the fish sauce is just way better at the one on Tully, along with that funky purple shrimp paste stuff.  At Milpitas they didn't even have pineapples in it!

We ordered the Grilled Fish ($40 for the smallest), grilled squid and prawns (tom muc nuong vi $18.99), Anh Hong Eggrolls, and 4 orders of 7 courses of beef for 10 people.  Along with 5 dishes of banh hoi and $9 corkage fee on a bottle of bubbly (which they made us uncork ourselves. wtf was the $9 charge for?!), total for the bill came out under $200.

I would pass on the Tom Muc Nuong Vi next time.  It was as if nothing was marinated, and it didn't have any flavor.  You didn't get a good portion for $19 either.  I think it came with 5 prawns and 5 squids.  The eggroll wasn't as good as the one at Tully.  They didn't use the clear eggroll wrapper that makes it so crispy.  The fish was good.  The outer shell was really crispy, but it was HUGE, so be prepared to eat if you order that.

The banh trang wrappers weren't good.  My mom even talked about bringing our own wrappers if we came back.

Since it was my in-law's first venture into real Vietnamese food, the Milpitas shop WAS nicer.  But if we were to go again, we're going to stick with the one on Tully. :)

I've been here to eat the 7 course and it was great.
however, they do not give enough lettuce, cucumber & mint - all that I love and need when I eat this course.
I choose not to eat the noodle or the rice paper that is part of the menu and uses lettuce to wrap my beef.
it is to die for!!!!!
other than that, I do love this location's bathroom over the Tully's which is too tight in space.

i prefer the Tully Rd location.  This one is much quieter.  The 7 Courses of Beef is still good, but I'd only go here if it was extremely inconvenient to drive to Tully Rd.

But their fish sauce wasn't that good and their chili sauce jars were practically empty.  These little signs help distinguish the restaurant in a bad way because if they can't keep their essential condiments in order, what makes you think everything about the meal will be cared for?

I still had a satisfying meal, but I would not go back to this location.

This might officially be the most boring review ever.

Came here with a party of 8 for their 7 courses of beef meal. This would be my second time having this style for dinner. I have had it before at their other location in San Jose. I would have to say i like it, very different from what I'm used to. To break it down, its basically 7 various ways they cook their beef and you just make your own spring rolls with those various styles of beef. And you have a couple different dipping sauces to choose from to dip your spring rolls. One is the nuc mam the fish sauce one and the other is a potent dark sauce, i forgot what its called but its my favorite. It taste great with everything. We also had their fried fish, i thought it was pretty good. Nice sweet taste to it, reminded me of my moms cooking.

Service was just OK, didn't refill our waters or asked us if we wanted anything to drink. The workers are like robots they just bring us our veggies and food and leave. They never say a word to you unless you flag them down and ask them.

Overall the food here is great, the prices were OK. About 20 dollars per person. Service was on the slow side, decor was very nice. This spot is a must try at least once.

I've been going here for   7 course since they opened. I love the stinky sauce and the fact that the beef does not shrink to the microscopic level after you cook it ( like the Anh Hong on Tully). The restaurant is clean.

I normally don't eat all the courses in the 7 course option so I order full versions on the fondue, or the grill.

One the the best dishes is the honey baked catfish- since it takes 40 mins to make from the time you order it, the key is to call in the order before you arrive.

when they get really busy, the service can be very bad.  You have to ask them 4 times before you even get your drink... but the food makes up for the slow service...........sometimes =)

She Says:

I don't know how I missed writing a review for this place... especially since I wrote one for their two other locations.  I've been the the SF one (this is the one I grew up with), the SJ one (this one is jam packed and cheaper but with smaller portions, the Berkeley one (this one is fancier, greasier, and more expensive), and finally, this one is Milpitas - my FAVORITE!

They don't know us by name or anything but I'm sure they know WE SAY by our faces.  We LOVE this place... especially me.  As I am often fond of saying, this would be my choice for my last supper, no joke.  I prefer this location because it's location (easy 15 min drive, easy parking), it's spacious and comfortable setting, friendly staff, and consistent flavors.

I mostly order the seven course beef... and my favorite course is the Lot Leaf wrapped sausage, really delicious.  All the other courses are great too.  Other dishes you must try is the Anh Hong Egg Rolls, the Sugar Cane Shrimp, and the Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Crepe).  You can read the other reviews on how to eat it... or ask us to go with you.  "He says" is all pro now with the wrapping and rolling.  Haha!

For true carnivores, there are a myriad of ways to show your devotion and get the vegetarians running. You can visit a temple to meat, like Alexander's Steakhouse, complete with a meat locker shrine. You can indulge in your own grilled kalbi at a Korean BBQ like Brothers.  Or you can even salivate over skewers of meat at a Brazilian Churascaria like Pampas.

But for true meat devotees, a stop at Anh Hong and their "7 Courses of Beef" should definitely be on that list as well.

Located in a strip mall, Anh Hong serves a variety of food, but it's their "Bo 7 Mon" or "7 Courses of Beef" that is most famous.

On a busy Saturday night, with patrons lined out the door, I had my own 7 Courses of Beef feast.

A true tribute, Anh Hong prepares beef in 7 unique ways. But whether it's salad, fondue, grilled, steamed or in soup, all are delicious and show beef's excellent variety.

The best way to enjoy such a meal is definitely with a native and I was lucky enough to have Vietnamese family friends teach such minor points as the difference between fish sauce and the overly pungent shrimp paste.  While this was my second actual meal of Bo 7 Mon, Anh Hong was superior to the place I tried in SF several years ago.

Service was top notch, the meat came continuously, and even trivial fare like vegetables and lettuce were constantly supplied.  All in all, it was a great meal and while waddling home, I was satisfied my devotion to meat was fulfilled for the year.

This place looked like a typical Asian place, not the cleanest, not the prettiest, not the best service... but it had the BEST food!

This place was packed with Vietnamese people so I was glad it was authentic.  So my friend and I were the only two Koreans trying to figure out how to eat the seven course beef, our viet friend was out of town...

So we had seven course beef for two~

Fish sauce, awesome!  Shrimp sauce... sorry kinda nasty, I will give it another try next time but it smelled like stinky tofu

Beef Fondue was great but not enough... it was so good, I wish I had a platter of  just the beef fondue, maybe I can order it next time on the side.

The sausages were heavenly!!!!  I didn't know that this platter was 4 courses in one, I thought it was one course.  After 4 courses the waiter asked if we wanted desert.  I was like "wait that's only 4 courses and I am still hungry!!!!"  Yeah, I am a pig, I am like a pregnant woman, I eat for two.

You know when you know you are full but you wanna eat more?  Your body is telling you, you are full but your brain is telling you eat eat eat? You could say I was there.  Food was enough... but in my book full is when it hurts and it didn't hurt :(

Service was surprisingly good.  They had 3 or 4 servers and the place was packed, they even had to bus the tables and from personal experience busing and serving busy tables are HARD.  Despite the rush they managed to take care of us and they were even fluent and friendly.

The bill was 23 dollar per person with tip, I thought it was good price.  I am definitely gonna try the San Jose location one, I am hooked on seven course beef, those sausages were soooo goood.

BTW you stink like a fish after you eat here lol.

I've heard a lot about seven courses - some good, some bad - but this is my first time eating it!

It's definitely an experience!  I like the different methods of eating each dish, and all of them were quite tasty!  I would definitely recommend others to come try it as well if they have never had it before.  The place was poppin' though so I would recommend coming earlier (6?) and/or making a reservation as I noticed people that had to wait out the door!

We ordered two additional dishes on top of the 7 courses (oink oink.) and they were great! I can see why people could be just as satisfied eating other non-7-courses dishes as well.  We had fried egg rolls (yum!) and lemongrass beef/shrimp/squid that we grilled ourselves (very yum!)

The service was great. We had water, tea, wine, coffee, lemon soda...not all for one person tho :P and though they seemed busy up the butt they had plenty of time to help out when we needed help.

First time trying 7 course beef.

I was expecting different cuts of beef - Filet Mignon, Brisket, Rare Steak, Meat Balls, Cubed Beef, Beef Penis, Tendon/Tripe etc....But what came out was delicious salad, rare steak, 3 different kinds of yummy sausages, meatloaf and this beef porridge that was accompanied with lettuce, carrots, cucumber, daikon and rice paper. There was also a hella stanky gooey thick sauce and fish sauce.

I sucked at wrapping, but after my 3rd wrap I was a pro. I will for sure come back here again when i get the chance. Service was pretty good here too...Fast.

Dad: "Want to eat Bo 7 Mon at Anh Hong for dinner tonight?"
Me: "No. I've been to way too many bbqs this past weekend and so I need to cut back on the meat eating"
Dad: "Oh, come on! There's not that much meat in Bo 7 Mon!"
Me: "WHAT?! Yes there is! Bo 7 Mon translates to '7 Courses of Beef'!"
Dad: "There's plenty of veggies though!"
Me: "You mean the small plate of pickled carrots and jicama they give you?"
Dad: "Yeah. See? Plenty of veggies to balance out the meat!"
Me: *sigh* "Alright, I give up. Just get the doctor ready should my arteries give out halfway through"

If you're like my dad, you'll love the Bo 7 Mon (7 Courses of Beef) at Anh Hong. It's different variations of beef (i.e. stewed, grilled, etc) that you can prepare, cook, and wrap into spring rolls to eat at the table. Usually after the 3rd course, I start crying uncle. But my insatiable dad and brothers are still hollering for them to bring it as they start popping Tums. The beef here is actually fantastic, and they do an amazing job with one of my all time favorite Vietnamese dishes: grilled beef wrapped in grape leaves. It's also pretty clean and nice looking compared to most other authentic Vietnamese restaurants. If your heart is up for it, give it a shot. Just be sure to get the Fiber One ready the next morning.

I love beef, I mean who doesn't? Besides for vegetarians, vegans and hardcore animal activist. So it only comes natural that 7 courses of beef should rate very highly with me. I've eaten at both the Milpitas and San Jose locations growing up. It's been a while since I've had it, so I was stoked when Wendy suggested it for dinner with her parents. We had 6 total in our group, and ordered five orders of 7 course beef. All of the dishes were prepared well, they were tasty, and for a newcomer to this traditional Vietnamese dining experience, it's fun and exciting. The restaurant has a reputation for having the best 7 course beef around. Still, I don't know what it is, but for Vietnamese food, this just isn't something I crave anymore. Now... a hot spicy bowl of Bun Bo Hue? Yes! A cool refreshing bowl of Bun Thit Nuong on a warm summers day? Yes! 7 course beef? Not so much. Maybe it's a novelty, but as much as I love beef, I'm pretty sure my favorite variety is 30 day dry aged, season and seared with a cool red center.

It seems that the reviews for this establishment is plenty, I'll spare the essay. So let's just umm...jump into it:

I like:

The chao (porridge). It's not very dense. The flavors are simply delicious, savory, and a good way to end the whole carnivorous meal.

A plate of cuttlefish and shrimp to grill up yourself. Beef can be so dry. I mean, I know they're mainly known for beef but moohoo. You should try the plate of beef dipped in the vinegar hotpot instead. It's better.

The abundance of fresh vegetables

The soft lighting, relatively good sized table spaced. Sometimes I think Asian restaurants think the Asian demographics should be squeezed in a tight space. I get that enough from the third world country, so can we move over to the bigger table?

I don't enjoy:

The old balding waiter who is irritable, rather rude and nonchalant. Sometimes, he'll purposely ignore you when you request something. I suppose people feel like they're causing too much trouble asking for certain things. Anyways, speak up if you want something. Naturally, he's very attentive and smiley when it's time to bring your check.

The prices. For rather simple ingredients, it's a bit much. It's not that fantastic.

For as long as I've lived in East Side San Jose and eaten Vietnamese food, this was my first foray into 7-courses of beef. I usually go with my typical Viet cheap eats, pho, banh mi, broken rice dishes, spring rolls etc...

The signature dish is pretty self explanatory, lots of beef for under $20. Wrap your beef in rice paper, throw some basil, mint, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, lettuce and dip in fish sauce. Simple. Delicious.

My only complaint is no matter how big your table is, you will not have enough space to get everything within reach, its just too many plates. Also, grilled beef is not one of the selections, its 3 different sausages which can get pretty tiresome, I'd recommend getting the grilled beef which is a separate item on the menu to throw some diversity in your dining experience.

Otherwise, 7-courses of beef was freaking good for my first time. I would definitely do it again.

3.5 Stars.  Better than A-OK but I am not quite a fan yet but they are good enough for me to come back for another try.  I am giving them the four star rating instead of three as they were nice enough in not giving me dirty looks even though almost half of our party of 22 showed up 45 minutes late.  I had enough dirty looks from the customers waiting for a table...I felt so bad.  Half of us ordered the 7 courses of beef, and a couple of orders of the following:

-vermicelli noodles
-spring rolls
-beef carpaccio
-Anh Hoàng Rolls
-chow mein
-grilled seafood
-grilled chicken
-fried banana with ice cream

Overall, everything tasted pretty good.  Service was also very good.  The only thing that we were a bit disappointed on was that we were sitting on one of their long tables and they only divided the 7 courses of beef into two settings and thus the people sitting on one end had no food.  Otherwise, all was good.

This place is easy to miss  driving down busy Calaveras- its in the the same stripmall as the SAVEMART.

I love the 7 courses of beef -

I don't know what changed from a few years ago - but I dont know how to order in VN, but this time the menu didn't include the raw beef slices, which I was so craving. Maybe they ordered it seperately before.

I enjoy this family style meal with 7 courses, especially having been sick and not eaten anything for a few days, my appetite was ready...

We ate and ate and ate... and seven'd and seven'd. Eventually we had to resort to just eating meat, instead of pairing it with veggies and wrapping it with noodles.

Overall the food was good, but I don't know why they sat us right next to the kitchen when there were 6 other big empty tables. If I were hosting this would be unacceptable, but as a guest, I just shut up and ate.

Advice: Pace yourself. wash your hands before you eat, there is a neat automatic hand-santizer dispenser in the bathroom.

I came here on Saturday with my bf and our friends. I had been craving the 7 course beef for so long!!! OMG.. but I wasn't completely satisfied ..I think they're SF store is way better. I had no realized they were all owned by the same person till the guy behind the counter informed me of this.

So we ordered 2 orders of the 7 course beef. I believe its really meant one per a person but we decided to split the two between the four of us. We then ordered the baked catfish. I've had this before in a Vietnamese restaurant somewhere in Southern California. It was good ... and let me say I wasn't disappointed by the catfish here. I liked it more than the 7 course beef. So sad to say =x

I'm giving 4 stars ONLY because of the catfish. ;)

I love their 7 course beef dinner, which is what they're known for. This dinner is perfect for groups!

I haven't tried anything else here.

HOW DO YOU SPELL "BEEF SEVEN WAYS"?!?!  LET ALONE "EAT IT"...

haha, when i was single, i would have said, "take me here for a date and ill show you!" - just to eat... whether i liked the poor fool or not.  mayhaps if he was able to sit through an eating with me while i engourged myself with cow, id figure he were a keeper and i would definitely take the time to get to know him... [especially if he kept that beef coming along...]

i espeically love the little roll meats in seaweed.... mmm.... and with a mug o' beer, whats there NOT to love?!  *drool*

The food is expensive but good and the place is relatively clean. But everything else sucks about this restaurant. We frequent this restaurant for years, but started to stay away from it after several run-ins with the horrible waiters and bad management. We reluctantly came back to it last night via an invitation from relatives for a Father's Day dinner. We're never coming back.

This establishment is over-run by some kind of freaking food nazi's. They make up all these stupid rules, simple requests turn into big arguments. Oh yeah, they argue with customers.

The waiter greeted and sat us down. I immediately recognize the old man and started to think "oh no, it's the Vietnamese 7-Beef-Food-Nazi." He came back for the orders and things immediately started to go down hill. We ordered 3 servings of their 7 beef courses. When asked for substitutions on 2 out of the 3 servings, the food nazi's told us that is impossible: "you either substitute all or none of the servings". We tried to understand why, but they argued they don't make exceptions. Strike one for customers! The 3 servings came out in 3 different plates for our table. We didn't understand why they can't do simple substitutions for 2 of the 3. WTF?

The waiter then asks my wife how many of hot pots we need. She replied 3 since we have a long table, he then told us we can't have 3. He gave some BS reasons which I don't even remember because I had started to tune him out. Strike 2!

Next, he kept dictating how much my wife should order despite her telling them that we are ordering other things and that we know what we're doing.  Strike 3. I can't tell if these f****ing morons working on commission or tips...

The only part of the order I was happy with is my beer. That's assuming of course he didn't spit in it.

I wouldn't have written this review had this been an exceptional or isolated case. We've had the same run-ins each time we come to this restaurant last few years. I've complained to ownership (the guy who runs the cash register booth) and only to have him repeat the same stupid rules to me. Once a few years ago when I complained, he even argued with me about what I ordered like he was there taking the order, which he didn't of course, and that I was an idiot. He was basically telling me that I was an "incompetent" customer. Haha...

Obviously, this restaurant doesn't believe in making their customers happy. While their food is good, I am sure there are other good Vietnamese restaurants out there. It's amazing that I kept coming back hoping things will improve each time.

No more, I rather eat Taco Bell (I know I can get a quesadilla with no spicy sauce and extra cheese) than dealing with these food nazi's, thank you! I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I love this place. We go here often for birthdays, showers and closing the books with my work. It's a little pricey for lunch so we keep the visits to special occassions. My favorite is the porridge at the end. I love the ginger the lemongrass.... whatever it is they put in their.

OK this is one of the best meals I've had all year long.  If I had a pick a perfect summer light meal filled with surprising flavors, fresh herbs, and beef prepared in ways you didn't know could be prepared, it's here.

The signature dish:
look no further than the 7 course Beef (it's a MUST have)! Minimum order is 2 @ $16.50 a pop but here's what you get:

1. fondue beef (beef thinly sliced and cooked in a small pot on the table) yes the broth is clear and flavored
2. cold beef salad ( thinly sliced boiled beef tossed with an assortment of veggies topped with bits of basil taste sourness missed with a hint of heat)
3/4/5/6 these all come on one plate, neatly served on a large platter, they are little beef slices rolled up to appear looking almost like a sausage is served prepared and seems to be marinated different assortments of yumminess with flavors of lemongrass, mint, onions, and garlic. one of the beef items was a beefcake which is similar in fashion to the Vietnamese egg cake.
7. Beef Soup which is very similar to jook/congee prepared more of a Chinese style with thin slices of beef, ginger slivers, and ground beef again, flavor explosion in the mouth, you won't be disappointed.

The other item we ordered was the table grilled squid and shrimp which is marinated with lemongrass and oil that is to be grilled to perfection on your own.  Extremely tender, fresh, and succulent!  $17.95

All this goodness is wrapped with the following: This meal also comes with a pile of rice paper to be dunked in a bowl of hot water at the table, a mound of fresh mint, herbs, and lettuce, another plate of thinly sliced cucumbers, pickled carrots and radish, and bean sprouts.

The sauces: One each table are small jars of fish sauce, chili sauce, and a some kind of fermented shrimp sauce?  Smelly yet delicious due to fermentation.

Portions size: appears to be delicate in size but filling enough for 3 hungry adults!

Yes eating here requires some work, it can get overwhelming if it's your first time but if you love to eat with your hands, come here!!

Ambiance: Yeah it's Milpitas and it's located in the Sav Mart strip mall so it's not overly appealing and yeah the decor makes zero sense.  It's not a Viet theme but it's not American theme but I tell you, you won't care once you start seeing and eating the food.

Tons of local patrons, big Vietnamese families here enjoying feast and having a happy time, nice wine and other liquor beverages.  I also recommend the Coconut juice with this meal!!!

Good service, all the wait staff were friendly and efficient.

I can't wait to go back again!!!  This place is a hidden gem and it gets packed fast!

Oh by the way, the existing photo's for Anh's here does them zero justice.  I'm bring camera next so I can show you the real deal!

YEA! I finally did the 7 Courses of Beef! Actually my boyfriend H took my parents and I out for this delectable treat! Ladies, that's a first class Gent to be taking your parents out to restaurant so soon in the relationship - Ahhhh such luck!
We came here on Saturday night around 7pm and the place was pretty full. We were seated right away and was looking through the menu when I remembered that this restaurant was known for their special 7 Courses of Beef. We ordered for 4 ppl (2 orders) and right away the food came out (I love that about Asian food - the food always comes out as soon as you order it!).
First came out the salad, then the fondue, which is where they give you raw meat and you boil it yourself - they also provide hot water with rice paper to make spring rolls out of it (I'm guessing here). Then our next was a plate of 4 different types of beef (3 of the selections were rolled and 1 was in a big chunk). Lastly, we received the beef rice soup. It's was so delicious and my parents were loving the food.
One thing that bothered me was the service. They didn't seem to help us out very much and I felt a bit ignored - I don't want to chop this up to a race thing but couldn't help but notice... They never refilled the water and it was took at least 3 minutes or more to flag someone down when trying to get more refershments - even though there was 4 wait staff running around (and by this time and it became dramatically less crowded).
I have to give a billion Brownie points to H and I would love (as will my parents)  to come back here again to go through the courses! Yummy!

3 words. Beef Seven Ways.

Inexpensive for 7 courses, in effect, and lots of fun to eat with a bunch of friends.

The food is crazy good, and the owner is great. However, minus two stars...I was trying to find a place to sit my purse down, and was peering down at the floor. As the thought occurred that it wasn't very clean, a cockroach scuttled out from under the table and away. Umm, gross. But the food and drinks are good...

Gets busy on Sunday nights with large family parties. Make sure to make reservations.

P.S. Order the large fried catfish. That's another specialty that is delish.
