We enjoyed a late lunch at Anglers. Food was great, service was consistent. Prices were worth what you got portion wise. Don't remember much about what we ordered. I do know we left with full stomachs and ready for a 5 hour car ride home.

This is a throw back place. Here are just a few of the classic features:
* they have an old school bowling alley that must date from the '40's. Grab lunch, enjoy a Leinie's, and bowl some frames!
* Taxidermy: If you can hunt or fish it in these parts, then it is proudly displayed at Anglers. The trophy Muskies are cool.
* Outdoor patio: this placed is packed in the summer. Normally a small town like Hayward wouldn't have room like this out front (storefront, sidewalk, then street) but his used to be a gas station so the area where cars used to pull in is now the patio).
* Menu: burgers, pizza, Mexican, fish fry ---something for everyone. Nothing fancy, just good eatin'.
* Game room - a small gameroom in back is a favorite and the kids love spending $5 of quarters to win about a quarter's worth of candy.
* Staff: always friendly, even when they are busy. -

Excellent pizza. Many local beers on tap. Decor is nothing special. Towny feel to it. But go for the pizza!

A must-try for Hayward. Atmosphere is outstanding ... the bowling, the upnorth decor (hunting trophies and pics). Nothing outstanding about the food, but a great place to meet friends for a cocktail and a little something to eat. Populated by business owners, retired teachers and shoppers taking a break. The outdoor patio in the summer is the place to see and been seen. They fire up an LP heater on the patio for the Birkie finish, which we appreciate, along with the bloody marys.
