Great "Family" italian. Especially considering the owner and chief cook is an Irish guy...
Good service, consistent quality. Decent pizza, good italian dishes. They also do mexican cuisine (burritos, and some others) but stick with the Italian.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Visited this cute little Italian restaurant when we went to visit some old friends in Castle Rock. Had not been there in years and it is good to see them doing a brisk business. We had a 15 minute wait at 5:30 PM on Saturday evening.
After being seated we were promptly greeted by a friendly energetic young waitress. The service was good, but unfortunately the food was just okay. We had a coupon for a $25. spaghetti dinner for four and where disappointed when our server pointed out the small print that said "for take out only."
We already had our minds set on spaghetti so that is what we all ordered. At $9.50 a serving it was a hearty portion of noodles, a couple of smallish meatballs, and a miniscule helping of sauce. We all agreed following the meal that we should have requested more sauce, but after the coupon ordeal feared we would have been charged extra.
At the end of the meal we felt rushed by the hostess who was hovering and obviously wanted us to leave because the line waiting for tables had grown. We wanted to sit & visit as we finished the bottle of wine we had ordered but decided to leave instead. So overall we were disappointed in our experience at Angie's. -

Horrible. Sauce was runny and had no meat. Will not eat here again :(

Nothing popped for me on this one. The Green Chili Stew was decent, however they mentioned having two versions, regular and hot. I went for hot, and it was mildly spiced. Maybe it is my Texas palate, but it didn't even singe a single nose hair. If you are going to put something on the menu and call it hot, it better come with a warning label.

Their homemade cheese ravioli, homemade meatballs, and homemade thick spaghetti stand out among hundreds and hundreds of spaghetti meals I've had over the years. Beyond that, I overhead an employee being trained and could tell that the management really cares about running a good business and making sure their customers are happy.
I'm going to have to go back and try something from their Mexican menu... -

I recently took my family there for the first time. On the plus side the servers and owners were extremely nice. The food was served promptly although the portions were a bit larger then I like to see and for the area the price was reasonable.
On the downside, the restaraunt was cramped and it was all booths, I prefer a table.
I am sad to say though, that the food was a disappointment. The pasta was fine, fresh, but the sauce was just not good at all. I reminded me of inexpensive canned sauce, too creamy, too sweet and not the tinest bit of tomato, garlic or oregano to be found.
Frankly if they used Ragu on their homemade pasta it would have been better. -

Ohhhh Angie's **drool, drool**.
Should I discuss the delicious Angie's Hogie? Maybe the hot fresh dinner bread? Or perhaps the mouth watering burritos? Or maybe the homemade pizza? What about the pasta? What about the cheesecake? Oh the CHEESECAKE.
Need I say more?
If you're looking for Lawry's quality, beat it. If you're looking for good homemade food in a small lil restaurant with friendly service and staff, then by all means, Welcome, friend. -

I just got back from Angie's and had a decent meal-not great, but not bad either. I found the service to be quite fast, contrary to what some other reviews indicate. I had to wait about 4 minutes for a table, but during that time, a waitress apologized twice for the wait. Once seated, I got my drinks immediately and my salad about a minute after ordering.
The food itself was good, but not anything to write home about. The salad was small and made with iceberg lettuce and a few tomatoes. I ordered eggplant Parmesan with a side of pasta. The pasta (which was fresh, as advertised) was quite overcooked and disappointing. The eggplant was good, again not great, but I are all of it without a problem. Despite The criticism, I would go back and eat there again, but I wouldn't suggest to anyone that they HAD to go there. -

I never understand the rave reviews to this place. They can not even produce a simple alfredo. Also they should take the Mexican menu off. Concentrate on doing at least ONE thing well.

let me start by saying i come from a hardcore east coast Italian family. so i was raised of A++++ home cooked Italian food.
going to Italian places to eat is more than hit or miss to me it's like going into a place knowing you will leave mad. but not this place. this is the ONLY Italian place i eat at. that's right the ONLY ONE.
my whole family loves coming to this place. this includes my grandmother..and if there is anything to know about Italian families and food is that if grandma doesn't like it than no one will like it. she just loves this place to death. she will eat and enjoy everything on the menu and not make little comments about how her red sauce is better. this is a big deal seeing as this is a lady that will go into chain restruants and demand them to bring her a selection of their spiceis and spice her own food her way.
they also have huge portions. i never leave this place hungry. most the time i leave this place so stuffed i feel like i could die [a happy happy happy person]
if you're looking for some legit Italian food then go here and get it. they make their own pasta for goodness sakes. who does that any more?!
if you're looking for some fancy classy food however than no..don't go here. this is home-style family cooking people so you will get the same kinda food you would if you came over to an Italian family home.
[NOTE: if you have kids it my be hit or miss here. like most places in castle rock they are staffed with super young high schoolers. so you might get some kid that may not be the fastest server or refill your drinks all the time. also the places is kinda small so i wouldn't want to bring a large family in here] -

We haven't been back to Angie's, but I couldn't resist responding to another reviewer's comments. Just because we don't like Angie's doesn't make us food snobs that can't recognize a good, low cost meal and give it the credit it's due. We just didn't find such a meal at Angie's.
Comparing La Dolce Vita in Castle Pines to Angie's is comparing apples and oranges. Their target markets and concepts are so dissimilar, what would be the point in comparing them?
If you want a real comparison, compare Angie's to its actual competition. Anthony's Pizza and Pasta, Nicolo's, and Troncalli's Trattoria, all in Castle Rock, are realistic examples of Angie's competition. Add in Guadalajara which competes on the Mexican food front. All four restaurants have far, far better food than Angie's at about the same price.
I work hard for my money and I'm certainly not inclined to waste even a fraction of it on another meal at Angie's, nor would I ever encourage anyone else to do so. But, I wouldn't say to a middle income family of 5 that they should try La Dolce Vita instead. It's not the same kind of restaurant! I'd direct them to Anthony's, Troncalli's or Nicolo's, in that order.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This place has the best bread and some great pasta. I always try to make a trip back here when I can. Everything is great. Pasta good. Bread Good. Mexican food, good. Best place in Castle Rock (which I know doesn't say a whole lot), but I would choose this place over any other nearby.

Thought I'd do an update.
Angie's has been one of our first choices when it comes to Italian Food in Castle Rock. I have brought 100% Italians who grew up in Italian families here and they were reluctant to try it because they felt there has yet been a place that served good Italian food in Castle Rock. To my surprise they were blown away. They and I, continue to go there. Service has been good to us every time we've gone, so no problem there. Food has been great every time as well.
Next time you're there, try their Tiramisu!
All-in-all, I will continue to go to Angie's and I continue to recommend Angie's. Give it a shot, you'll love it!!1 Previous Review: Show all »

We've always enjoyed Angie's, which has Italian and some Mexican dishes as well. It's usually pretty busy and accommodating of couples and families. Very reasonable, meals are really good, always staffed with good service. Recommend!

We went to Angies again tonight for our favorite pizza - the Angie special. it was awesome as usual with fresh meat toppings and crust cooked just right. we request ours to be cooked extra hard becasue of the all the toppings loaded on. we love it and it is our favorite pizza!
