I really love hole-in-the-wall places and this is just the place. Foods great!

This place is nasty..bad sweet tea..literally fermented, nasty gravy, the salad bar looked rough and the pineapples were fermented too.ugh.waitress could have cared less about our complaints and we too got the sideways looks when we entered and asked anything.never go back...ever.I appreciate and understand small home cookin cares but this is just a nasty dive with poor food and service.

I believe it's now known as "Rickster's," the place hasn't changed menu-wise or cosmetically since I was 3.

I always like pancakes, so if you too like pancakes, go have some of their pancakes.  You can't mess up pancakes.

However, I recently wasn't impressed with their service, so here's my story.

So my bro, my girlfriend and I walk into this place for some good ol' local dinner.  Immediately we were given "the eye" as if no young whipper snappers ever come bumbling along into this joint.

We're seated, oddly, next to the only other patrons.  Now I'm not expecting the other side of the restaurant, but with the absence of any music, the dining area was rather quiet.  Might as well have seated us at their table, we practically heard each others conversations anyway.

I wasn't in a pancake mood, so I figured on some country fried steak.  However, there was a catch.  The big or the small...

I ask, "how big is the big?"  I wasn't sure if the big was big, or not so big.  What's a small anyway?  Too small?

The waitress looks at me, as if I was kidding.  She asks (with sass, I might add) "Well how would I know, do you want me to go back there and measure it?!"

I didn't know what to say.  What do you say?  "Yes, I would like a well educated decision before I make my meal order this evening."  No, I just said, "well, I guess large."  My brother orders the small claiming we'll open up a new understanding of country fried steak sizes.  Our server was unamused.

Salad bar time!  But...  there is only one spoon for many of the spoon-scoop items...  I emit a chuckle that echoes in the empty restaurant as I weigh the decision of asking another "questionable question" to our waitress.  I choose the safe road. My brother gets bacon bits.

When I return, my girlfriend received her soup.  She claims it tasted fine.  I thought it smelt like dangerous.  I have a sixth sense for these things.

Our food came out, and it was adequate.  I would rather not go there for dinner again.  It was a little pricey for what was given.

    Go for the pancakes.

I really liked their philly cheesesteak. It came with au jus sauce, not too bad...
