Angel's Share Wine Shop is truly terrific. You'll feel at home but with a touch of excitement.
Let me give you some suggestions when you should go.
1) Need some wine or beer for home
2) Need a unique bottle of wine or beer
3) Beer Club
4) Prices are great
5) Bring in outside food to eat while drinking
6) Wine and Beer tasting
7) My friends and I are there
8) The workers will sit with you and B.S. for a bit
9) If you don't want to go out for the night but want to have some drinks then this is the place
10) If you want to go out and want to have some drinks before getting to the club then this is the place
11) Customer service is outstanding
Visiting Angels' Share is a rare special treat for wine lovers. My visit confirmed the shop's "best of" awards and I highly recommend you go. You will be warmly greeted and assisted with your selection from the handpicked stock. Check their website calendar for special tastings, relax at the cafe tables and plan to stay awhile to enjoy some finger foods with your wine.
I saw Angel's Share on Yelp back in February and was able to stop by last Friday during a family visit to Modesto. My wife and I were greeted by Shanna M. I mentioned Yelp and she introduced us to Chuck and Laura, the owners. We felt at home pretty quickly and, by luck, had arrived just in time for a Young's Vineyard tasting.
My wife told Chuck we tried some port wine at a restaurant recently but did not know which would be a good buy. Chuck showed us his carefully selected offerings, explained the three types and took us back to the bar for a tasting of several. We picked two: Justin Vineyards Obtuse Port Paso Robles (2006, half bottle) and St. Amant Bootleg Port, Amador County (2005, half bottle).
We asked Chuck about how the shop came about. He described the love of wines shared with Laura and their decision 20 years before to open a wine shop where they could share their passion for fine wines with others. I was very impressed with the great selections available for purchase and appreciative of the helpful knowledge shared by everyone on the staff.
A visit to Angel's Share is a remarkable experience. We picked up several other wines to bring back to San Diego and will remember our visit as each bottle is opened. Thanks you Jill, Shanna, Laura and Chuck for the wonderful time and all the help picking these great wines:

Just want to let everyone in the Modesto area know that Angel's Share Wine Shop is a breath of fresh air since the previous wine shoppe in Modesto closed a few years ago.
My boyfriend Miguel and I stop by to enjoy a glass of wine or some beers about once or twice a week. Miguel has also completed the 100 Beer List and has his name on the special plaque that recognizes beer drinkers who have reached the 100 Beer goal.
It's a great place to meet friends and make new ones like we have (Rick, we're talking about you!), and the service is great. Just want to commend Laura & Chuck for all their hard work and thank the employees Jill, Pam, Shanna, and Michelle for making our visits to Angel's Share so enjoyable.
I say must this is one of the coolest places to drink. They have a huge selection of wine. They also have a Beer Club with a huge selection of beer to drink. They're calender is always stacked with wine and beer tastings. But that's not why I'm giving it 5 stars. Its getting 5 stars because of the owners and the people you meet there. They're a real pleasure to drink and talk with. So come on in and challenge yourself to the beer hall of fame.
We love Angels Share wine shop ! Not only do they offer a wide selection of wine and beer, but the owners and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. 5 for 5 at 5 on wednesday's rock ! It is a great time to not only sample wine, but to meet up with new and old friends.
Not only am I a wine club member, but I am also a beer club member.They have the best beer selection in town. We recently had them host a private event, which was enjoyed by all. Chuck and Laura and staff went above and beyond to make it a success. Thank you guys!!!! We'll be seeing you soon. K & B
Ok, I might be a bit biased because I work at Angel's Share, but I am also a customer. The environment provided by Chuck and Laura is so relaxed and full of fun I come in on my days off! The customers are warm and friendly and on most nights a bottle or two will be shared. My husband Bryan was not into wine 6 month ago, but with the availability to try different wines from the wine bar, he has acquired quite a palate for BIG Cabernet's and if he isn't in the mood for wine he has 180 beers to choose from. He is drinking his way to 100 different beers to get his name on the plaque.
My husband is huge into the beers and has enjoyed being able to sit back relax and try such the huge variety that they have available. Availability is key!! We keep coming back for both that and the awesome service and personal attention we receive from Chuck and Laura.
We had our 50th Birthday (twins) party there on Saturday. It went extremely well and may have inspired others to have their Bdays there as well. Our family and Friends from Sacramento were quite impressed. Laura and Chuck truly are the best wine shop owners in our area. They helped to plan and got involved in the festivities.

Angels' Share Wine Shop is a terrific place to enjoy fine wines and beers. We offer a small dining menu selection to enhance your drinking experience and we have a huge selection of over 600 labels of wine and 180 labels of beer. We pour 6 ounce glasses of wine and we pour 2.5 ounce tastes of wine. We use only reidel glasses which are larger than most home stemware and are far more suitable to the wine tasting experience than any joker glass that most wine drinkers may use at home. When one is interested in tasting wine you would never want to fill the glass to the top, because you will not get the correct aroma or bouquet from the over filled wine in the glass. The Staff is extremely knowledgeable of wine and beer. We are limited to seating 30 patrons due to the size of our venue however, because it is an awesome experience we are usually full. Please come early to be ensured of a place to sit. We offer wine tastings every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please be sure to check out our web calendar for special events.
