Definitely the best Mexican food near Lakeport. Awesome portions with a good price. We suggest getting the pitcher of Margarita!

Took an hour to get our dinner, very slow service. Food was great :)

Angel's is hard to find, but I suppose if you live in the area, your choices are limited. A local recommended the place, and I was hungry, so I was excited about it. There was a friendly cat outside, but apparently, he was not officially connected to the restaurant. There is a friendly neighborhood vibe here, and I loved that. I didn't love the cold, stale chips that tasted like they came out of a bag, nor the salsa that tasted like it came from a can. I thought the service was pretty good: quick, attentive, and stayed out of the way. The dining room has no separation between tables, so it's best if you're not too shy. My camarones a la plancha were tasty, but I was disappointed by the bland white rice. I suppose I shouldn't expect "mexican rice" at every Mexican restaurant, but I thought they could have done better. Not the best, but not the worst either.

Best burrito I've ever had. This extremely rural restaurant far exceeded our expectations

This place is a diamond in the rough, and though I've heard it's not the easiest to find, it's totally worth it! Just got to Steele winery for a tasting and ask them to direct you here. It is right around the corner from them! The food is absolutely amazing. I haven't had this good of a chile rellano since who knows when. I am always going to compare other mexican restaurants to this place. DO IT!

We eat here often and really enjoy our food everytime. This is our go-to place for a mexican meal. Now if we are talking just a quick burrito, that's a whole differant review!
We've had a party of two, four and a couple times a party of eight to ten. The service is always really good, no matter what size the group. They don't take credit cards which is a bit of a pain but with a quick trip to the ATM before heading out to Finley is always part of the evening out.
It is family and operated. As a rule, we try to support the locally owned and operated over a chain any day of the week. -

Great authentic Mexican food! I love the people there! Nice place for a big group and margarita's by the pitcher. Very hot plates! (I burned myself when I was a little kid, but don't worry they warned me first!). I have been going there since I was young and the food has not changed that much. If you have something that works well, stick with it, and they did. And Sixto, you are amazing. You make the business such a better place to come too, you make up for the distance that people travel just to see your smiling face :) Thanks Angels.

This is our family's choice whenever we go out to eat. The food is wonderful, classic Mexican. The staff is friendly. It's a warm family run restaurant. Great food, warm atmosphere, friendly staff. What's not to love? They now take credit cards.

After experiences at Cabos (mediocre) and TNT on the Lake (blow the damned place up), my wife and I were looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Lake County. After reading the reviews on Yelp, we decided to give this joint a try.
Pretty good. I enjoyed a beef enchilada plate. My wife had a chile relleno with a taco. The whole meal was tasty and flavorful from the chips and salsa to the last sip of Diet Coke.
I didn't know what to make of the place's outside appearance. It appears out of nowhere in the middle of a country road and is pretty rough-looking. Inside, it is more attractive. Service was good but a bit flippant and times. I almost think the waiter gave me more preference in service than my wife, but whatever. . .
At last, we found a good Mexican restaurant in Lake County. It's not the best Mexifood we've had in our day, and I'm not connecting with the raving 5-star reviews I'm seeing here on Yelp, but it's a good restaurant that deserves repeat visits.Listed in: Mexican Restaurants in Lake…

If you want classic Mexican food, and a classic Mexican restaurant, this is pretty much it.
Great food, great prices, good service, and proper atmosphere. The meals are pretty standard for what you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant, but the quality is just so skillfully done that it'll keep you coming back.
Service is always well done, and I've rarely been forced to wait too long for seating even on busy nights (despite the small size of the place).
Reason enough for me to go visit the folks and get some good food. -

Lakeport, CA
For honest home cooked Mexican dishes this is the place. Nothing fancy, just tasty food resonably priced. It is family owned and run. The handsome man serving you most likely is "Sixto" [an owner] and his brother is the chef. NOTE: they do not have a full bar. The mixed drinks, like the margarita's are made with a low proof alcohol [no more than what is in wine]. That is how they can do it without a full liquor license. If you try it you will become a fan!!!

Angels is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in California. We live 8 hours south of Lake County so we day dream about their Salsa and Margaritas. We've yet to find a Mexican restaurant that has a perfect balance of Friendly/experienced waiter/owner-Sexton, great but simple food, Salsa and a perfect Margarita. That's what Angel's has and we wish we could get up there more often!

Ok, now if you want some real good Mexican food this is the place! It's hard to find, but once you do you will not be sorry. My family and I have been going to Angel's for years. The plates are so hot that I have been burned a few times- not a bad thing. Totally worth the pain and suffering for the massive chicken burrito. This is one reason why I visit my parents! Good thing for Angel's!

If you're looking for a place where you can have a slightly-more-formal-than-a-quick-meal "sit down" Mexican meal in the Lakeport/Kelseyville area, go to Angels. There's a reason that they're consistently busy, after many years in business!

Corte Madera, CA
Tired, lifeless Mexican at its best. When I read other reviews, we went out of our way to go. And if you have been to this part of Lake County, you know the roads are so confusing, it is not a small deal. When we drove up we thought, cool roadhouse. Then with the cheap interior, we still were thinking, the food must be amazing!
Oops. The Rock House part of the name I think refers to the rock I felt in my stomach the rest of the day. Really sad that I later found some interesting looking places in Kelseyville. -

Really good food. Trust me, I'm from Mexico City and this is authentic Mexican food. Great portions and excellent Margaritas. This place is in demand so make a reservation.

This place is everything the Yelpers say. Great food. Good service. Cheap prices. Both of us shared 1 dish and it was plenty. Margarita was pretty good too.
