I came one time here w/ my friend and he introduced me to this place. I wasn't expecting much but i was surprised how great this place is. we were welcomed in, told us what to expect, where the merchandises are & asks us if we have any questions. We both showed them our doctor's Recommendation letter + Driver's licences and off we started. The Bud tender is very friendly and showed some buds and all the information about certain buds that they have. They have 2 sections: one for the Sativas on the right and on the left corner..the Indicas. Everything comes in a jar for everyone to easy w/ names and the prices labelled on the jar starting form 1/8 of an once. they are priced according to grade from low to high and the prices that come along with it. You could asks pretty much anything Medicinal properties-Wise and they're happy to give quick answers. Very Informative and i was already learning a ton of stuff about Medicinal plants i never thought before that afternoon. The people here are professionals on the way they handled their business on showing us everything we needed to know. We purchased medicines and the staff told us that in the event that we're not 100% satisfied with our Purchase...Bring it back and they'll replace it w/ some that you would like...Satisfaction Guaranteed. Dude, How good is that!!!??? What businesses do even know that does that nowadays!? I was sold when i heard this! They actually give you more (Just a tad bit as an extra) with your purchase.Overall, i was impressed and satisfied going and conducting business here. I will come back next time that i'm in the Area. :)

I hate to see a good dispensary go downhill, but that is what seems to be happening at Angel's Care. When it first opened it was very good, a great selection with good prices. But best of all the staff was very knowledgeable.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago: I ended up with a budtender (a young lady) who was amazingly ignorant of the most basic information. For example, I was told "We now have two areas, the Purples are over there, and the Greens over there." When I asked the simple question"What's the difference?" her response was "Well, I don't really know...BUT IT'S ALL REALLY GOOD!."
I then asked to see a sativa. She had no idea what I was talking about. Finally another budtender overheard what was going on and steered me in the right direction. One wonders: What standards do they have for bud tenders?
Another gripe: whenever I've gone there it seems there is always the smell of cigarette smoke in the air. Either they are smoking inside the building, or outside near the vents. Either way, not cool for a health oriented collective. But then the owner usually stands at the front door and smokes, so you have to run the tobacco gauntlet just to get into the place. I guess it's part of the culture there. Given the issues they've had with the city, you would think they would work harder at compliance on smoking laws.
Their clone stock is very limited, and the plants look unhealthy. (Why bother if you can't do it right?)
Angels Care used to be my #1 dispensary. some of their proprietary strains are excellent. (The "Wow" is very good.) But when a bud tender doesn't know sativas from her indicas, isn't even sure of the broad product categories, and the place smells like an ash tray, you've got to wonder how serious they are about serving legitimate patients. -

I wanted this dispensary to be my go-to disp since it close to work and easy to reach by car. I went three times but, unfortunately, won't be returning.
Here are the reasons why:
(1) As Ed F said in his review there is a strong odor of tobacco smoke permeating the place. It's in the lobby and outside but especially when you walk into the bud area (which is about the size of a basketball gymnasium). While most disps have a delightful smell this place smells like a bar from 1989. On my third visit I told the person at the desk that your disp smells like tobacco smoke and instead of saying that we're sorry it smells bad and we'll tell the smokers to go far from the building - au contraire - that's the way it was at Angel's. It would seem as though it would simple for the employees to eliminate the smoke smell but it is obviously more important for them to smoke tobacco than not to disappoint their customers.
(2) They have a very large selection. I wasnt able to understand how things were organized (strains and phenotypes). Since there were a very large number of gallon Mason-type jars with bud (60-70 jars?) it would seem as though it would be difficult to keep such a large stock fresh when it is out at room temp like this. A lot of the bud had a weak smell which might be indicative of age.
(3) The warehouse-gym atmosphere of the bud room seems a bit out of character for the atmosphere one might expect at a disp. Probably was a machine shop.
(4) The prices seemed reasonable. But I should mention that it is the only disp I have ever visited that didnt offer some sort of "token" gift for the first visit. I guess they must save a great deal of money by doing that.
In summary, Angel Care and its employees don't seem to give a rosy red rat's rump about their customers. They must figure they have too much business currently. -

WTF Angel's busted. Why? They were as legit as they come. I dont believe the mercury news. I think its just the police and D.A. trying to effect the elections.
I called to see if they opened back up. but no one answered. If they move to San Jose Ill be there for sure. -

I love the variety and quality that I've found here. The volunteers are all knowledgable and friendly and always help me find the right medications that work for me best. I would recommend them to anyone, they have the best selection I've seen anywhere and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

This was my first time visiting this collective. I was really impressed. It is not as flamboyant as some of the big shops in Oakland, but it definitely has huge potential. I was blown away by the variety. The staff is extremely welcoming. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly she offered me a drink while I waited . (I only waited like 5 mins or less) They had coffee, water, tea, and orange juice. They have a great waiting room . Felt very comfortable there will go back very soon maybe even this weekend. If you want a great place to get your meds this is a great place to try. The prices where right about where they should be. Great hours ( cant remeber what they are at the moment) I know they are open till 8 and that is really cool!

Been here a few more times and have had pretty much still good experiences I did get a strain that the tender recomended I think he was new..He recomened some crappy strain but other than that Its been good.. they take debit and credit cards so thats cool -

These people have got to be in the top of product offering, it truly just amazed me.
Now granted, this was the first time I've actually had any pain issue serious enough to warrant a prescription for long term pain management...... But, I went to SDSU from '85 ~ '89, .... I always thought it was either brown, or one of three different green varietals. I've got A LOT to catch up with lol.
I don't know shit, and I realized it as soon a I turned a corner into conspicuously empty and very large room, and basically gazed upon Nirvana: An unbelievably wide array of medications, in varying strengths, offered variety of snaky cakes, smoke-ables, and other consumables.
The staff was very professional, efficient, and genuine interest in your well being. looking forward to spending more time learning about the different types of medications, and the benefits to each variety and method of ingestion.
I know I have to go to at least one other place before I give up the last review star: The last one requires a happy ending or something, ....... right? -

Has a lot of potential. The selection was decent but nothing to brag about. The owner seems to have his stuff together and has great plans for the place. I'll continue to update my review as the collective grows :)
update: they have these AMAZING Irish Moss drinks there... SO GOOD! We go back there to stock up on those about once a fortnight now :)
UPDATE 2/10/10: seems to be growing, including their selection of meds, but I feel like they are slowly becoming more ghetto as they are growing. I hope it is a passing phase and just some temporary growing pains. I will continue to update in the future, but I'll remove a star for now. -

I have been to Angel's Care 3 times now and the people are always very nice and friendly. I especially like it that they have the infused olive oil, the drinkables and now even capsules, Indica and Sativa both.
Everyone that has helped me has seemed very knowledgeable, but then again, I'm about as UNknowledgeable as it gets.
I will keep coming back.
If you do go, PLEASE sign their petition. We need to keep them there and keep them open! -

So this was the second collective I visited in San Jose. It has a huge sign that is not hard to miss. It didn't take long for verification and the lady was really nice. Being from LA I noticed some differences in this place than most of ours.
It is huge. Tons of empty space, maybe they are putting something in or a medication area but it was kind of creepy.
The meds were all out in jars and they had a good selection ranging over the spectrum of prices. My budtender had no clue what the xmas purple's genetics were other than it might be a mix of "something like purple haze or lavender or GDP and something else".
She then asked two others and no one knew.
I don't want to sound like a dick but seriously know a little about the medication you are putting on the shelf. This was my only serious problem with this place. -

High priced low quality bud. They're high grade looks like it's rolled around in a tumbler... I've seen a tumble (extracts kieff from bud for them to package and sell) when they first open they're doors few years back... Yea they have cute workers don't get fooled tho... They're high-grade is not as potent as they say!!!!! I smoked a whole 1/8 in a water bong and wasn't satisfied. In one day!!!!! Don't buy from clubs that charge anymore than 55 an 1/8 boycott these ludicrous prices I see!

Pricy. Thats the first thing that really stood out. I mean of course they have bargain bud but the bargain bud was the worst you can find around. It was such a busy place that it seemed like the budtender was a little impatient with me. The security was friendly, but also made me feel like I was at the airport or something. I won't be returning but it was ok.

I've only had my medical card for a couple weeks now and Angel's Care was one of the first collectives I visited. Staff was friendly and professional, and I was blown away by the selection.. After visiting a few more clubs around the Bay Area and returning to Angel's Care, I realize they are a professional, legitimate collective with very reasonable prices. Highly recommend

i love this place!! Jessica is AMAZING. actually the whole staff rocks. great selection of meds and omg...the selection of HASH/KIEF is just yummers. They have these lil suppliments that really do the trick and they are ONLY $5+tax.
seriously, there is a collective a block away from me and i go outta my way to go across SJ just to get my meds.
hands down, best in San Jose.

Yah!! Now we have club in Santa Clara!! Nice!! Great knowledgeable professional staff. Joining was easy, fast and efficient! Prices reasonable and variety of products was plentiful!! This place is worth the drive. I live closer to another dispensary near downtown San Jose, but I take a drive to this place for many reasons. First, the prices are consistently $55 for an 1/8th. Other places in the city are on average $60 for an 1/8th. Sometimes, you can even find bottom of the jar deals for $40 an 1/8th, which is awesome in my book. Second, they have a large variety of high grade bud. Third, they have a large selection of edibles, including an "Irish Moss drink," which I highly recommend. The 2 dose drink is a smooth and almost meditative medicine. The staff is great all around. The bud tenders always have great recommendations with you in mind, and not trying to push a certain sub-par strain. This is honestly the best dispensary out of San Jose, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco.

This was the first collective I went to after receiving my paper work. The place is well run, the women who work there are gorgeous but more importantly they try their best to be helpful even if some of the budtenders don't know all they should about a particular medicine.
The selection is very good and they have edibles and concentrates. I like the fact that you can return or exchange medicine if it does not work well for you. I never needed to do this and the quality of the medicine is generally very good and they always seem to have a special on some strains. The Irish Moss is a very good medicinal beverage and in all I'd recommend this collective. I feel like they care about the patients and have compassion, something that is important to me. -

RAIDED!! What a sketchy place. Have you been reading & watching the news lately? Apparently...this place has some major issues. Everytime I went there. I felt uncomfortable. Now I know WHY! Angel's simply DOESN'T Care. "State law and guidelines require pot clubs to be nonprofit. It was unclear what evidence the agents had that Angel's Care is making money. Although there have been two previous raids on pot clubs recently, the bust at Angel's Care, based on allegations the dispensary was profiting from its operation seems to be one of the first of its kind in the South Bay. Law enforcement officials said " http://www.mercurynews...... I have absolutely lost faith in Angel's Care. I am NEVER coming back. Shame on you for taking advantage of sick people!

the best club i've ever been to hands down. better than all of the clubs from sf to oakland to san jose. i can not believe how good there prices are and i've never seen so many top shelf medicines and what they call mid grade is other clubs top shelf. i found some of the same strains that would be considered other clubs best for less than 35 an 1/8 and the top grade here is destroying other clubs so called top shelf. go to angels care and be blessed by there quality control. be careful because there is so many good choices that you end up stocking up on more than you need. it's so hard because you want a different flavor after each one you see. don't go off of price because you will find your best strain that you find at your favorite clubs and this place will have it for such a low price and you will then think it can't be true and guess what not only is it true but it's probably better here. i noticed that there is more crystals, and hairs at angels care and i think it's because they have a policy that there medicine is never pre packaged. enjoy your life, you should never be in pain as long as angels care collective is there.

i've been here twice and so far i like it. i get my questions answered and feel like they can teach me a thing or two. they have this irish moss drink that is really good, helps with insomnia problems, 1 bottle of the 2-dose can last for about 3 sessions for somebody with a low edible tolerance level, ill drink 2 gulps and be ready to sleep.
the strains are also good, mix & match is allowed as long as the strains are on the same level, and so far the strains that I've tried is fantastic.

This was my second collective that I have tried. There front office security is pretty normal. Not to the extreme. One "manning" the door and walkthrough metal detector. Then there is another that verifies your recomendation and CA I.D. You walk in through another door to fill out typical paperwork and while you are doing this, the front admin(s) will validate your recomendation. After all said and done, you are instructed to go to the waiting area until a personal Budtenders is avaialble. I fortunately, did not have to wait. There selection is pretty wide at about 38 strains. Not to great on the clones, but then again I don't know if they offer them or not. The edible selection is pretty decent. So far, the coolest (2) things of this place is that 1) You can mix and match two strains (as long as they are the same price). Meaning, you can get a 1/16 of "this" and a 1/16 of "that". I did this with White Rhino and Romulan. This was truly worth it. Saves money in the end. 2) For whatever reason if the medicine does not work or help, you can comeback with the unused medicine and trade it in for something new. You can't use half of an 1/8 and expect to have the whole $$ amount as credit. I beleive they weigh it out and go from there. This is another place I will recomend to anyone, whether it be their first time or not. I will go back everytime. If you want more details, please send me a message.

This place is amazing. Everyone here is so happy and helpful. Definitely my favorite club. Very afforable concentrates and tons to choose from. I hate going other places cuz all I can do is compare the two. No one else comes on top...ever. Couldn't ask for a better place to go at lunch. As soon as they restock from an unfortunate event with the SCPD a few weeks ago I will be back! Love you guys!

Very professional from the bud-tenders to the security personel. Large variety of strains and a good amount of THC based products that can useful. Everyone was very helpful and nice giving the place a very relaxed vibe. And not to mention nothing but very pretty women work there.The only downfalls i consider are that they dont sell anything between a gram and an eighth. Also they don't have anything to offer new patients.

coming from San Jose, its a bit far for me to drive out here. i used to stop by frequently when i worked in mtn view, but there are TONS in San Jose now. they definitely have a HUGE selection of strains, but the budtender did not know much about the product. also she mentioned that keeping the buds in the mason jar with the fan leaves helps with the bud, but it retains moisture and will contaminate the product. i am BIG fan of the purple dragon that they have over there. i havent been there recently, but i heard that they have a chiropractor, need to stop by again.
all in all not a bad stop, but they need more people that know about the product
