This is the pizza place you head to when you have less than $10 and need both gas and food. $7 for gas and the rest for an enormous slice of pizza that will keep your belly full until the next 2-3 meals.

First of all I love the price. A slice of pizza is actually two huge slices and they charge $2.75! I don't think you can find a bargain that good within a 5 mile radius. Sure you can fill up on $3 worth of chips but it's not the same. Don't order expecting gourmet toppings and exotic fresh cheese.  Angelina's will deliver a greasy cheese pizza that will fill you up. I never had any complaints, the sauce and crust was adequate for me.

Service is fast. You walk in, head to the counter and order. Have a seat and soon you'll find yourself chopping away. The average person will be full by the time they have 1/2 of the second pizza. Once done wipe your crumbs off the table and head out.

This seems to be the hangout for many police officers. During the short time I was there I saw 2 cops.

They have a private lot in the back. Lots of spaces and most people are in and out.

My review is based solely on their cheese pizza by the slice. I gave this place a 5 stars because the pizza was impressive and the price continues to be amazing. Dining area is clean, despite this place being busy,  never once have I walked in and detected a hint of man musk.

    HOLY HUMONGOUS PIZZA!

I was craving pizza tonight and lucky for me Angelina's was on my way home from class.  I had never been and one of my classmates raved about how this place is consistently good.  I knew I had to give it a try.

I got there around 8pm and placed a take-out order for two slices of pizza and a small salad.  The friendly girl at the counter asked, "Do you know how big our slices are?" I was thinking, "Don't underestimate the appetite in this petit package," but told her that I planned on bringing a slice home to my roommate.

So, I placed my order and read the rest of the menu while I was waiting; salivating, stomach was growling.  Veal parmesan, wings, calzones...mmm...
In a few minutes my order was ready.

When I got home I opened the box to find two ginormous slices of cheese pizza.  Each slice was cut in half so they were each easily two large slices of pizza anywhere else. Price per slice: $2.75.  Can't beat that!

And were they tasty?  Sure were.  Filling?  Oh yeah.  Salad was fresh - with romaine, grape tomatoes, olives, and a few sliced cukes.

Not the best pizza I've had but definitely up there in terms of the best bang for your buck!  The guy who said, "3 star pizza for 5 star price" put it perfectly.

    Great value + good food

The only reason I gave this place three stars was because I had this before and it was great. When I came here a few nights ago, they were pretty busy. But that doesn't explain how my pizza turned out. I bought a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza that looked amazing but tasted the complete opposite. Their pizzas usually taste great, but not this one. The crust was too sweet, as a matter of fact the whole pizza was really, really sweet; but it was also bland, even when I spiced it up. I don't know what was up with them that night, but I just hope that it does not continue or I will have to find another place for pizza.

This is the closest I've found to the kind of thin crusted, cheesy pizza I love. Its filling, cheap and tastes great. I had their pizza once at a work function and just went back by myself for a meatball grinder. To me, it was outta this world. It was cooked perfectly, cheese melted on top and the sauce didnt soak the whole roll but just enough to make it soft and hot. I agree the place is small. Funny from another review but I too saw cops in there. But you could just tell the guys working were energetic, happy and friendly. Seems they have a lot of regulars and I love that about CT....all the non-franchised places. Florida doesn't have that same appeal and it makes me feel more at home in this area. I keep trying to ignore it b/c My childhood was spent in CT and NY but ohhhh how I love new england accents!!!!! That earns a star all in itself at Angelinas.

OK, so I just don't get it. I read reviews here and went expecting pizza as good as John's on Bleecker, or Santarpio's of East Boston. What I got instead was very filling, mediocre pizza. Don't get me wrong, you get a lot for the money here, and this could be very satisfying "drunk food," if they were only open past 10 p.m. on a weekend.

But if this is the "best pizza in Hartford," then I'm afraid that Hartford's pizza pedigree isn't much better than that of Terre Haute, Indiana. This is NOT as good as what you get in New Haven. Most corner pizza shops in Anytown, USA, are just as good.

Go here if you're hungry, since the portions are huge, the prices are cheap, and it won't make you go "yuck." Just don't go expecting some memorable pizza pie moment. It's average at best

    update:
Went to eat there in person this afternoon. It was not the warm coziesh place i had pictured in my head LOL, but was very nice n clean, had appx 8 tables and a small counter.

Really is not much room in there, and the chairs were not very comfy.....The food was not any better eating there, it definitely travels well and makes wonderful takeout. We wont be eating in again, but will continue to get wonderful takeout from here!

On my first day in West Hartford we ventured out for some quick food to satisfy the hunger from the long move. The answer to our hunger was Angelina's. I think we have eaten or taken out from Angelina's every week since. Aside from the food which I will gush about in moments, I still thank the girl who first looked at us funny when we ordered a large pizza. She broke down the portions, best options for prices etc. Very uncommon these days.

It's simple high quality consistent tasting pizza never fails to put smiles on our faces. Their 'huge slices' literally 2 of the of largest individual slices posing as one 'huge' slice for $3 a piece!! is that way to go. Their wings, mozzarella sticks and other appetizer choices are just as good and what you would expect from an awesome neighborhood joint.

I recommend calling ahead for take out. Either way you will be greeted by roughly 8-15 people standing off from the counter waiting for their food. There are 8-10 small tables for dinning in also, which is quite cozy. They have a large plasma screen always on sports center. I got over them not delivering quick due to the quickness of the call ahead carry out & the friendliness of the staff. So glad we found this place.

I've been wanting to try Angelina's for quite some time now after reading the many excellent reviews on Yelp. Twice I tried to go there only to find them closed ( after 9p or on Mondays) but I finally got there this week. After trying the pizza I must confess that I don't know what the fuss is about. Decent tasting crust but bland sauce and ordinary cheese. I'm really at a loss here as the other reviews rave about this place. Perhaps it was an off night for the kitchen, I really can't say. I actually threw the leftovers in the trash which I NEVER do. Maybe people are really reviewing the reasonable prices and large portions but those things don't make up for a barely mediocre pizza in my book. I won't be back.

good place, a big fave of the wh and htfd police, everytime i go there, there is at least one, if not 2 cruisers in the parking lot.
    great for slices to go.
to scott v, of course they are closed on mondays, its a restaurant (most likely family owned) and they need a day off!
i no longer work in the world of restaurants, but i did when i was in high school and college and people who never have dont get it in a lot of ways. sorry to complain, but you should check if somewhere is open before you drive a long distance. with that said, i have a better idea than those who never worked in restaurants of what that world is all about, and i like the open kitchen and the quality ingredients.
however, as a native ny'er i stick by my statement that sisson ave pizza house in htfd (who does deliver) has the best pizza ive found in the htfd area when u compare it to nyc.

Angelina's offers a tasty New York style folding pizza, though the crust does not really fold. The sauce is a nice tangy tomato.

Oh...Angelina's, how I love thee.  You are the place with the 3-star pizza and the 5-star prices, with your massive slice (really, two slices) for less than $3.  In a town that is great for pizza eating but no-so-great when it comes to places with slices to go, you are quite a lovely find.

Ok let me say this first I am in no way a pizza buff/expert but I have eaten my fair share of slices and of course you would think oh your from new york you should have found a pizza place worthy of your tastebuds there. Well so far Angelina's is tops in my book as far as pizza goes. The slices are the biggest in Hartford but it really is just two seperate slices together as one but they are so tasty the cheese, tomato sauce the way everything explodes in your mouth is amazing. On top of that you should def grab the onion rings and mozarella sticks and chicken fingers omfg!! So damnnnnnn good, really compliments the pizza and get the pink lemonade. Every time I eat at Angelina's I end up passing out bc the food is so good you just end up wanting to sleep.  The staff and also the manager or owner I'm not sure who he is, cool dude always behind the counter is super nice and legit, they should just erupt and open up a big one in new york or all over and follow this formula guaranteed they would erupt more than five guys burgers and fries!!

Best Pizza in CT.  The slices are $2.  The best is New York style meaning thin dough and thin crust.  This place cannot be beat.  It is mostly a takeout Pizzeria, and they have been around for many years.  This is a hidden jewel and worth the drive if you are within 40-60 minutes away.

If your in West Hartford and you want a quick slice of pizza, Angelinas is the go to choice.  The slices are large, taste great, and are appropriately priced.  The owner is a real cool dude.  Overall its the pizza slice winner in Hartford.  Go in with 5 bucks and come out full and satisfied!

Some of the best pizza you'll find in the Hartford area. They would get five stars from me, but they don't deliver. But their pizza is definitely worth going to pick up. Crust is thick and chewy, but crispy on the outside. Good sauce flavor with a good choice of toppings. Their "italian sausage" tastes just like regular hamburger, so I don't order that any more. Peppers are a great addition on this pizza. And you really get the bang for your buck at this place.

The best New York Style pizza that's not in New York.  I've been coming to Angelina's for years and the food just seems to get better.  They moved  to a bigger location that's just down the street from its original location. Its bigger, but still maintains its cozy atmosphere.  Definitely a must try.
