After moving to Marin from the East Coast several years ago, I was in search of someone up to the task of managing my unruly head of hair. I had some unfortunate experiences that left me thankful my hair grows quickly.
That is, until I found Angelica who now has been cutting my hair for 2+ years. Angelica is very personable, professional and very skilled. She always asks what I have in mind and then exceeds my expectations. She owns and operates her own salon and provides very reasonable pricing.
The salon itself is relatively small, but with professional decor. The central location in San Rafael makes it convenient to a large section of Marin.
If you are looking for a new solution for your hair dilemma, I recommend Angelica. -

Angelica gave me a decent cut at a very reasonable price ($25). She also styled it better than I could recreate.
Other good things were being able to make my appointment for the same day and that Angelica was nice and made me feel comfortable with a new stylist.
I will be going back to her for my next cut!
Update: Went back several times before moving out of the area last year. Always a good cut. When she couldn't get me in for a cut she trimmed my bangs for no charge (most places charge $5-$10 for a bang trim) and scheduled my appointment for the next week. -

Angelica's is a great place to walk in or call up the same day if you need a quick trim. Angelica is a sweet heart and cuts hair well. She was friendly, chatty and accommodating. If you're looking for the full beauty salon experience, I would go elsewhere in Marin that charges more. If you just want a haircut, go here. This place is not pretentious or uppity at all, and that's why I like it. Oh, and the price is right too but bring cash, no plastic accepted!

Last Saturday I was in search of an affordable haircut. I have a simple bob - but tricky/wavy hair... I walked into angelicas, and she made me feel right at home. The price was the best on 4th street! After my haircut, I called my other salon, and cancelled my other appoinment. Not only did I save about 50 dollars, my hair looks great, and I have finally found the type of hair stylist that I have been looking for. Down to earth, friendly, awesome prices, full service salon! I'm so happy. :)

I've been going to get my hair cut by Angelica every six weeks, and I'm still so happy! She is incredible, and I can't rave enough about how talented she is when people compliment me on my hair! :0)

After reading about Angelica's on Yelp (searching for an affordable salon in Marin), I made an appointment that day. I have curly hair, and am always nervous to go to a new salon, but Angelica totally knew what she was doing. She listened to what I wanted, and asked throughout if it was the length/layers I wanted. I'm super happy with the result, and with the price ($25 for a cut? seriously?).

Having done a little research for a salon in the area that fits comfortably in my budget, I came across Angelica's in San Rafael. I made an appointment and came in the same day. I am very weary of who I let touch/style my hair, but after walking into the salon (which is very clean, chic and with welcoming staff) I felt comfortable with my choice already. Angelica and one other stylist were there, but Angelica was the one who cut my hair. I told her what I wanted, expecting a decent cut. The result was fabulous and I was so thankful. Best haircut in years for sure - and only $18!! (Womens' cuts are also very reasonable) Of course I tipped graciously, but I will be coming back for all my future hair needs in the future. I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants a great cut for a very fair price.

This salon is great. I've struggled to find a hair stylist since I moved to Marin five years ago. I'm so happy I found her. Ivette cut my hair. She does an excellent job and does not overcharge at all like most hairstylists I've been to. They treat you really well. She wants to hear what you have in mind but also gives new suggestions. Great experience overall. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

ehhh this place was small dark and cramped.. completely unconformable and unprofessional. the stylist didn't give me any personal attention. she was on her personal phone or tending to other clients or there children. my hair cut was choppy and seemed unfinished.. total chop-shop.. my long layers were totally butchered into a ugly one length haircut.. my hair was ruined and so was my day.. I asked for more layers she just cut more off the bottom. I only asked for a inch off and more layers. she cut off at least three inches and my layers are gone.. wtf never go to this salon unless u like cheap nonprofessional results..
