Angela's catered a memorial service for me. The food was simply outstanding. Great value. And Butch was so easy to deal with. I called them last minute when other plans had fallen through, and they just said "can do". And wow! The sure can do!
I would recommend their catering service to anyone: highest quality, (very) reasonable prices, excellent service.
Thank you Angela's for saving the day --and creating a food hit! -

Lemme sum up: Very good gourmet on the go meals/ingredients, Good value, very good service
If I need to get some quality ground saffron, spices, pasta, or gourmet meals to go, it's off to Angela's! I'm a fan of the homemade butternut squash ravioli which I pair up with their alfredo sauce. (A little pancetta, chicken, porcini, shallots, and a kiss of Frangelico *hits it with fresh chopped parsley and sage* Fall feast!)
They really do have an excellent artisanal cheese selection to go along with some more recognized international brands. I especially appreciate that they will allow you to sample something before you sink serious money into buying quality fromage.
The wine selection is interesting and broad enough to cover more than just merlot and chardonnay. Of course they have chianti, and you'll find a malbec in there, too, but it's rare they carry a pouilley fuisse. *shrugs* Can't win 'em all.
They have a cold cut case for you antipasto freaks. Good selection for salamis, prosciutto, stuffed hot peppers, olives, etc. This is also where they keep their homemade meatballs and sausages served in a red sauce that's pretty decent.
You are going to pay a little more for some items you could get elsewhere but I think it's a good trade off. In return you get items you can't get anywhere else for a fair price. Plus, you get the added bonus of being able to pick up EVERYTHING you need to make a genuine Italian meal, from beginning to end, in a flash.
WORD OF WARNING: Parking suuuhhhuuucks. There is nothing here except narrow one way streets that make Beacon Hill look like a freeway. Make sure you park extra close to the curb and don't block someone's driveway or there may be issues. ("Didn't I have a driver's side mirror when I....oh gawd...") -

My husband and I were driving aimlessly around Manchester yesterday, trying to waste time before an appointment in Chester. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a woman walk into this house. Wait, no, it's not a house, it's a little teeny shop... and it says fresh pasta and cheese on the front... Stop the car!
As it turns out, heaven is a bodega in Southern NH. Angela's had a ton of really nice wines (and some I don't personally love, but that's OK), tons of homemade pasta, lots of specialty sauces and condiments, and all the normal "specialty store" kind of stuff. Then we get to the back-- the pasta salad bar looks so delicious, I wish we had skipped our lunch and just gone there. They also had a homemade chevre back there-- my knees almost collapsed, I can't wait to try it.
The deal-maker was when I went to the gourmet cheese section and saw my favorite cheese of all time-- a bit pricier than usual, but still there. Angela's has Humboldt Fog!
Since we were traveling, we just got a bottle of Montepulciano, a bottle of Gus soda, and a wine bottle stopper. But I can't wait until one day when we live in the area and I can drive down and enjoy this place to it's fullest potential.Listed in: the rest of NH

Nice store! Lots of variety...loved the wine that was recommended, "Lost Angel". Lovely blend of red varietals.

I am going against the odds by giving four stars.
That being said, this place so PRICEY. Yes some very nice quality food but come on.
Some of the items I could get at Market Basket or TJ's ( I am not kidding) for half the cost.
I did love this store and I did get some hard to find items like a ton of imported food items, a very high quality balsamic vinegars, cheese, olive oils, spices, sea salts, homemade pasta, frozen fresh pasta and other Italian prepared foods.
Deli, antipasti bar, vino, fresh bread (different ones daily) and even frozen salmon pie and pork pie (tortiere).
Even if I do not make a purchase it is still fun to look and see and dream that you are a Top Chef!Listed in: The Spice of Life

So the other day I'm jonesing for some nice cheese and some cured meats, so what do I do? Yelp for a place. And once again yelp comes through and finds me this gem.
They have a great array of wines, oils and balsamic vinegar, they sell stonewall kitchen goodies, even a few dried salami in the back. I have to say my favorite part of the store is the cheese counter. They have a wonderful selection of italian, french and other cheeses and even let you sample the cheeses. And for the clincher I was also able to obtain some sliced speck (for those of you who are familiar with speck we should be friends).
I don't get the reviews of people who say this place is expensive. I feel for the product that you are getting it's a good deal. If you aren't willing to pay for good food then go back to Market Basket. I went the other day and bought some dipping oil, some semi-soft cheese, salami, a loaf of rosemary garlic bread and some sliced speck for $24. In my eyes that's a steal. Will Definitely be back!! -

Definitely the place to go when planning a party, or if you want a nice bottle of wine. Angela's has frozen appetizers and family size entrees you can heat up at home. At lunchtime, salad bar is great. Don't forget the desserts. Very helpful staff and plenty of neighborhood parking make this place a must.

Yes, slightly out of the way...but completely worth it! Located near North Elm, behind the Webster St Fire Station, it's my favorite place to go for lunch if I'm in the area...pasta/salad bar is SO good. Excellent selection of cheeses, wine, frozen entrees and appetizers. If you like curry...their mango curry chutney spread is fantastic!! Usually freshly baked cookies, etc at the counter too...don't miss those!

This is a fantastic resource for anyone who appreciates Italian food. I've been going here for about 25 years. Three sisters started, and still own this shop. They came here from Cape Cod, where their parents owned a legendary Italian restaurant for decades. The sisters were tired of the restaurant business and decided on this alternative route through the Italian food industry. The rest is history.
The cheese counter has a WIDE variety of exotic cheeses you probably won't find anywhere else in New Hampshire. Better still, they have little free samples of a few each day - so you can get a taste of something you might never otherwise encounter. At the prices some of them go for - free samples is as close as I'll get! I've special ordered trays of Italian cold cut meats and cheeses for events - and people flipped out over them.
They also stock a good variety of dipping sauces, marinades, oils, desserts and Italian cooking accessories. Numerous varies of bread are brought in every day from a local baker. Prepared food is available fresh and frozen. The variety of interesting and delicious foods is stunning. One reason for this is that the owners regularly go to high end food shows in New York City to search out new products and suppliers.
I bought a fresh slice of custom pizza recently that I heated at home and I have to tell you it was the BEST pizza I've ever had!
I noticed somebody here mentioned that the staff wasn't that friendly. I've never experienced that. In fact, I've always wondered how they keep coming up with terrific workers. And the three sisters who own the place, and work a LOT of hours there, are very friendly, low keyed, and helpful. More importantly, a small family business like this which creates numerous jobs(5-10), and offers a unique custom variety of high end food is great for the economy and an absolute Godsend to food lovers. I'll take a hand crafted unique place like this over your corporate cookie cutter place any day.
The six variety pasta salad bar is my favorite target here. The fact that you select what you want in the amount you want is fantastic - it's sold by weight. I'm no expert, but I don't know know of any other place around that has fresh, gourmet pasta salads I can buy for two or three dollars. My current favorite salad is made with bow tie pasta, grapes, mandarin oranges, pineapple and cashews. My second favorite is angel hair hair pasta with sesame chicken. The variety is awesome and each one is a very special experience.
There is high quality, very unique food here, in ALL price ranges. -

Off the beaten path a little but well worth the trip to me. Being from NYC and not seeing any other shops of this calibur anywhere in the area, I was very happy to have found it (actually my MIL recommended we go there). Its got everything from fresh pasta to prepared food by the pound. Cakes of difference sizes and a pretty good wine selection. I wasnt in the market for anything but a cake the day that I went, but I bought a little antipasto salad as well. Next time Im in the hood, I will go back and try something else. So far, so good.
