Review from Paige I.
Monterey, CA
I have been going to Angel Nails twice a month, for a Shellac manicure and a regular pedicure, for at least a year and have never had a negative experience. I do like some of the folks there better than others but everyone has always provided me with good service. My manicure looks nice and I have NEVER had any issues with infections etc.
I recommend them to friends and will continue to use their services. They do a good job for the price and their hours of operation work well with my schedule.
I do suggest making an appointment as they can get quite busy. -

THEY DESTROYED MY NAILS!!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Prior to going back the second time, I tried to remove my nail polish... I couldn't. I went back to Angel Nails and they had me soaking my nails trying to desolve the ploish they used. I complained that the solution actually felt and smelled toxic. it was stinging my nails. They wouldn't answer me what the solution was and now said that they used lacquer that adhears itself to your nails and has to be desolved then filed off of your nails. If you do not reapply their lacquer, your nails are now weak and brittle not to mention thin due to the filing they have to do to remove the lacquer.
My nails are still colored the previous color because it would not all come off.
Rude staff... They do not deserve a 1 star rating!!! -

I had my nails done here today, because I couldn't get to my regular place. My nails turned out ok, but I don't like the thickness of the acrylic this time around. They are reasonably friendly, but I prefer Luxury Spa in Salinas near Target to this place.

I am really disappointed in this place. The first time I went to Angel Nails was to get a pedicure, and the girl that did my nails was pretty good (can't remember her name but she was one of the younger looking nail techs). So my family and I made an appointment just recently, and they were clearly under staffed. They rushed through our pedicures/manicures (10 minutes each if that).
Their customer service is so horrible, one of the nail techs was very unprofessional and started gabbing on her cell phone while doing a pedicure on my grandmother. Come on, how tacky is that?! Plus she was speaking in Vietnamese, so who knows what she was talking about. What I don't understand is that people started walking in to get their nails done, and my family and I clearly had an appointment, and it just seemed like the nail techs wanted to cater to the walk-ins rather than servicing us. Our nails eventually turned out okay, but I'm never going to go back to that place ever again! -

Is it even possible to give a NO STAR rating? If so, then this place gets ZERO.
Candice C. (below) is my sister.. 'nuff said.
Actually there is one thing I'd like to add..
Well first off, a GUY did my pedicure (helllllla weird!?) and asked if I wanted a rhinestone or some shit on my toes. "Rhinestones, huh?", I thought to myself and figured why the hell not. So, I'm thinking he's going to put one itty-bitty faux diamond on each of my big toes, right? Well.. when I looked down a minute later, this mo'fo straight up lined both of my big toes cuticles in little diamonds. WTF??! It looked like my big toes had pearly white and were smiling up at me. I soooo was not trying to go for that tacky-FOB look, but that's what I ended up with.. Thank you Angel Nails. -

This place is amazing! I have been here a few times and I must say the staff is fabulous! The spa is clean and the chairs are really comfortable! They even have this really cute childrens pedicure chair in the shape of a butterfly. I get the pink and white set that lasts forever! Never have I had nails that have lasted as long. I love the glitter tips :o) When you go see either Lily, Amy, Linda, or Nina. They are all really good at what they do! Go in for a mani/pedi today and ignore the reviews you see below, they are straight crazy. I have never experience what they have described. Perhaps they are those kind of people who have to find something to complain about. Either way I can promise you will fall in love with this place!

I was not happy with the service, cleanliness of the area or the quality of pedicure I received.
While the pedicure was not THAT bad, it was hurried, and the massage (my favorite part) was just a bunch of one way hard rubbing - that left me bruised on my shins. Both me and my friend went, and 2 different technicians and they were both just mediocre. And as stated above the place was not clean. The ambiance could be nice, but the chairs are old, the floors sticky, and even the waiting chairs where tattered and stained.
Also, now in a dispute with them over a charge to my debit card. I gave them a gift certificate, and my debit card to cover the difference in cost. But they charged the entire cost to my debit card. I called them, and they asked me to call back. Customer service is not what I would determine as a class act. -

I was very pleased with my experience! The place is clean, neat and well maintained. The people were hella nice, and although this was my first time here I noticed they remembered their repeat clients, even if they hadn't seen them in a while. That's a gold star in my book. I requested a reverse french and they had no problems. They were fun to talk to and I had a great time. Oh so relaxed now, and ready for my reunion.

This place has a wonderful ambiance compared to other nail shops.... While other places usually feel dirty and outdated, Angel Nails feels a step above all others.
I've been going to this place for a few months now and I have no complaints. Each time I've had a pedicure here, I was able to make an appointment that day and I didn't have to wait more than 5-10 minutes before I was seated. They've done a great job each and every time.
The prices here are reasonable considering it's in Monterey which can be very touristy. I will DEFINITELY be back here in a few weeks to get my next pedicure... -

This is my 2nd visit to this salon, despite seeing some of these reviews. I have to say, "I am pissed". I just got a "full set" two weeks ago and I went in there this evening to get a standard "fill". I had 2 broken nails and she asks if I want white tips and something about pink.... Since this jargon is somewhat new to me and sorry I haven't had a chance to memorize their menu and prices, I say yes. She then asks if I want them cut and say "yes" just to "even" them out, since the last idiot (her coworker) did them unevenly 2 weeks ago. With that she files down all of my nails and starts doing this thing with white acrylic that I have never seen. She then fills in the other side with pink acrylic. All that is fine and good, except that they are 1/4 inch thick, and now they are no longer then my finger tips. Well, that defeats the purpose, right? They are friggin' shorter than my own nails and to boot she tried to charge $28 for this fill plus said I had 3 broken nails.. I understand up selling but this was downright shady business. When I told her how unhappy I was and listed the reasons why, she changed my total charge from $35 to $30... Big whoop. I reluctantly paid but will NEVER go there again and suggest you don't either, unless you are going for the stubby white and pink nail look. Argh!!!!!
