Delicious, gorgeous, inventive, amazing! We had Angel Cakes cupcakes for our wedding and they were incredible. We had some vegan, some wheat-free, we were able to choose inventive flavors (chocolate hazelnut, Mexican cocoa).
Jen set them up in a gorgeous display and helped us label them so people knew what they were getting. She was super professional and helpful.
Wheat-free cupcakes are really hard to make, and wheat and dairy free ones impossible, but these were amazing and didn't taste like we were missing anything.
For a stressful day to plan, it was so nice to have a baker who worked independently and gave us exactly what we wanted. We were so sad when we ran out of the few leftover cupcakes! -

Jen was amazing and made beer cupcakes at my request for a friend's birthday. I just found her to be super flexible and accommodating. The cupcakes were great too; sweet, moist and yes, you could taste the beer. And yet she found the balance where it wasn't overly beer-y (because yes, you want to make the birthday person happy, but you want a cupcake to have a sweetness that's satisfying and fun).
Their prices are comparable to other local bakeries. I'm definitely looking forward to trying more cupcakes at Angel Cakes. -

Jen's mini-cupcakes were a huge hit at my birthday party. I ordered 75 of them for 40 people, and only 4 were left afterward. The minis were a perfectly sweet ending to a birthday luncheon. A number of people asked where I got the cupcakes, so I showed them the cards that came with the order. I hope Jen gets some business from my friends.

Ordered mini vegan cupcakes for my friend's bridal shower. She was very professional and they looked great! They were very tasty, although I'm not giving 5 stars because they weren't amazing. Still very good though!
She was very helpful in figuring out what colors and types to order. -

I'd had Jen Angel's cupcakes at a party or two before and they were excellent. I needed to hire a small local-to-Oakland dessert business to cater an event, so I reached out to Jen and she was happy to help. She quoted a great price and was super organized in coordinating around the event. When she came, the cupcakes were beautiful, delicious, and great variety, and she set up a pretty display and worked really well with the other vendors. I'd hire her again for personal or work events because I know I can rely on her, her prices are great, she is friendly, and I love her cupcakes!

Jen made my cupcakes for my wedding three weeks ago- vegan strawberry with vanilla and mini vegan chocolate with peanut butter frosting. They were DELICIOUS, and there were almost no leftovers. Sometimes vegan baked goods have an "off taste" and my lack of leftovers proved that these were just awesome. Jen was extremely pleasant to work with and very professional. I highly recommend her for anyone, and I'm sad that my wedding was destination and that I live on the other coast.

I went to the SF Cupcake Challenge and tried their cupcakes here.
They offered 2 cupcake options, I usually only tried one:
- Mojito -- The cake was airy and the frosting was nice consistency. With the decoration of a mint leaf on top.
- Double Chocolate
The representatives were nice, and willing to engage in conversation.
I would try them again. -

Jen made the most wonderful Chai Spice cake for my 30th birthday! The cake was moist, beautifully put together, and tasted like a spicy chai dream! I ordered a 6in cake with vanilla frosting, perfect for myself and few friends to enjoy after a big dinner.
She was able to consult with me via email, accommodate my order within 4 days, and meet me at a convenient pickup time.
When I am back in the Bay Area, Jen will be my go-to for cupcakes and small cakes alike! -

Angel Cakes was present at a Yelp event gracing guests with their teensy morsels of fluffy, cakey goodness. The cupcakes were a just a tad sweet for my tastes. However! I will say that I am not a fan of the genre and even I was thinking, "Maybe they're on to something with this cupcake trend..." after a nibble of their sweet treats. I would totally recommend them for a party.

This is a long overdue review for the cupcakes that Jen made for our wedding this summer. She did a great job!
When I first contacted Jen for a consultation, she was very responsive and arranged a time to stop by our house with some sample cupcakes for us to try, as well as a book with photos of her work. We chatted with her, and she answered our questions and fed us yummy cupcakes. They were a hit for the whole family, even our dog managed to steal one!
We ended up ordering mini cupcakes for 100 people so that we could have a variety of flavors. We chose chocolate hazelnut, peach and red velvet. The cupcakes were loved by all! They were moist, the frosting wasn't too sweet (which is a personal pet peeve of mine), and Jen did a lovely job decorating them. We opted for a unified look--pretty white swirls of icing with purple sugar hearts. Jen is an icing artist :).
Overall, we had a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to hire Angel Cakes for another special event. And the cupcake of the month club is calling my name... -

Cupcakes are my absolute weakness.
I've given up dairy for awhile now, but if presented with a delicious moist cupcake - I can't help myself. I just have to go for it. Thick dollops of icing perched upon a ridiculously cute cake is just too much for me. All of my self restraint is set aside.
Jen not only makes superb vegan and non-vegan cupcakes, but she will go above and beyond to make sure that your experience with Angel Cakes is a wonderful one.
I ordered some cupcakes for some friends and Jen personally delivered an order of chocolate salt caramel cupcakes to their door. They were thrilled and raved over them.

Jen at Angel Cakes helped us this week with a short notice delivery of almost 400 cupcakes to be delivered to our corporate office the week before Christmas. What's more, I needed the delivery split up to go to 17 different departments. She got everything straight and delivered the cupcakes right on schedule. The emails have been flooding our inbox in the past 24 hours thanking us for the delicious cupcakes from Angel Cakes. We are so happy with the service and the product. Thank you Jen!!!

Angel Cakes provided cupcakes and a cutting cake for our wedding in Dec. Jen was fantastic to deal with and has very reasonable prices! We thought we had our baker all set up for the wedding and then she wanted to charge us an extra $200 a couple weeks before the wedding and I told her to go to hell, and I gotta say Jen saved me! Not only was she cheaper than our previous baker (a lot cheaper if you consider we were going to have to go someplace else for the cutting cake since that pos baker wouldn't make one) but her cupcakes tasted much better!! She really came through for us on short notice and we're in her debt for it. The other great thing was that she didn't charge us for a tasting! Jen is professional and does great work.
If you have a vegan or two in attendance fear not because Angel Cakes can accommodate. We had three different flavors and a dozen vegan cupcakes and they were all great and looked beautiful as well. I highly recommend Angel Cakes! -

Jen catered my daughter's birthday party last year and made a few HUNDRED tiny cupcakes that were wonderfully delicious. I just got an email from her today and discovered they have a Cupcake of the Month club! Who wants a boring old beer of the month club when you can have cupcakes. Cupcakes from Jen Angel no less!

Jen makes amazing cupcakes. I came across Angel Cakes at the F3 Yelp event, and I am so glad I decided to have dessert first. Not only to they look great, but they taste even better. Apparently, you can also get Angel Cakes delivered to your door each month as well. I am definitely going to look into that. I mean, cupcakes that I don't have to frost, sold!

We hired Jen to make bite-sized cupcakes for our wedding. We were not disappointed! She is very patient with the decision making process and has amazing flavors. MOIST! Her cupcakes are very moist. Beware, you won't be able to stop eating them.

jen is a master at flavors, colors, and designs. she is a pleasure to work with and really strives to meet your cupcake needs/desires. also i think it's really lovely that she makes vegan and gluten-free options. you can really tell that jen puts a lot of love into her work. you can taste it.
if i could eat angelcakes' cupcakes every day, i totally would.

You will not be disappointed with the mojito cupcake!!!! It was extremely moist inside and the mint & rum flavors made this really stand out as an exceptional cupcake creation. Strawberry and Mexican chocolate were very solid too but you cannot go wrong with the mojito.

Ok, so I never "got" the whole cupcake thing, I thought it was just an LA thing, but someone ordered Angel Cake custom cupcakes to be delivered to one of our training events in SF and now I'm a believer.
I've had my share of cupcakes over the years, but these were amazing. There was an assortment delivered and people were cutting them in half to share, so I tried 4 different kinds. The carrot-cake was like the best "traditional' carrot-cake I'd ever had, the chocolate one was super-rich and moist.
I didn't think I'd ever write a review on cupcakes, but damn, they were just that good. I get the cupcake thing now, I'll lobby hard to order more from AC again.
Good: crazy custom-crafted cupcakes that were amazing, free delivery in the FIDi.
Bad: put me back at least a month at the gym -

So disclaimer - The angel behind Angel Cakes is my good friend. So I'm biased.
But that doesn't matter - because Angel Cakes are really, really incredible. And I've had some mighty fine cupcakes. I've really only had her vegan cupcakes (ok, I might have gone freegan and taken a bite out of non-vegan ones once or twice) - but they are delicious.
From the simple standards like vanilla or chocolate, to totally creative flavors - Jen makes top of the line treats that taste and look out of this world.
The only thing that could make Angel cakes better would be to have a retail presence so I could get them anytime - rather than do special orders or at special events. OK, and if Jen made ALL her cupcakes vegan, I wouldn't complain either. And neither would you - because they are still delicious. -

I had an open house at my office and I ordered cupcakes from Jen. They were AWESOME. Perfectly baked, perfectly soft and vegan! She even delivered, although that may have been a favor :) She is an amazing baker and very creative. I would recommend her in a second.

For our recent office warming party, Angelcakes provided the most fabulous mini cupcakes! Each cupcake was perfectly constructed and absolutely delectable! My personal favorite was the Mexican Hot Chocolate, and I would have never guessed it was Gluten Free! Yum! We were overwhelmed with the number of choices that were available to us and Jen's flexibility and assistance! We can't wait to have another event for another cupcake indulgence!

For another coworkers birthday, I ordered 18 chocolate with salted caramel cupcakes. They looked totally beautiful and were super delicious. Even people who don't usually like chocolate (yes, I realize this is insane, but that's a whole other discussion) were raving about them. Someone even stole all but one of the birthday boy's extras.

Don't know if Jen invented them, but her service was great: fast, flexible, customized, and delicious (home delivery was only $5 in Oakland). Oh, and she did some super-cute designs on the cupcakes, too. PERFECT gift for your favorite sweet tooth.
