You know what? Really Good stuff! My husband and I had lunch here last week when in RI for our tax appt.
The strip mall area that Andrew's is in is a little (ok a lot) icky, but the restaurant itself is lovely to look at, inside and out so we were ok with it.
The service was a little slow, and this was surprising considering we were 1st in the restaurant, and it didn't get crowded until we left, but this being said, even though he was slow moving, our waiter was friendly and professional and nice. The drinks were YUMMY - I had some tropical concoction from the drinks menu, and hubby had a perfecty poured black and tan. The sandwiches we chose were excellent...I got a goat cheese and roasted red pepper on foccacia, and my husband got the "not your average grilled cheese" aka a really great tuna melt.
We will be back next year during tax season for sure.
Damn...now I'm hungry for that goat cheese sandwich. -

Andrew's Bistro had me at "hello" with a bowl of roasted garlic and oil served with a basket of bread.
The food at Andrew's is top notch and definitely one of my new favorite Italian joints in RI. Their stuffed mushrooms with roasted peppers and goat cheese are the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever tasted, and it takes a lot for me to put a mushroom in my mouth.
Their lobster ravioli is super stuffed and tastes fantastic in their light parmesan cream sauce.
What really makes me happy though, is their Steak Culotte. It's SO tender, and dressed in a mushroom and onion marmalade that is out of this world.
Their Chicken Inferno, which sounds like more of a spicy dish, is actually more of a sweet & sour chicken.
Finally, if they have strawberry cheesecake on the menu, GET IT. It's not your usual slice of New York. It's a bowl of fluffy cheesecake layered between strawberries and bread crumbled. It's amazing.
All in all, Andrew's is the very definition of a "hidden gem". -

Our first visit to this restaurant, and overall we were quite pleased.
Located in a strip storefront, adjacent to the worst condition parking lot ever, the interior of this restaurant is decorated nicely. A pleasant surprise.
They have a very nice menu, and the evening we visited they had some nice appetizer and entree specials. The wine list contains quite a few good selections among the $25 to $30 bottle price range. Service was outstanding, and our meal choices for the evening (filet mignon perfectly cooked and a slow roasted pork tenderloin) were very good. Only complaint might be the over-dressed greens and caprese salad.
We will definitely visit again sometime soon. -

Wow, don't judge this place from the parking lot or the fact it's in a beat up strip mall. 100% 5 Star food and service! The minute you walk through the door you get a sense this place is special, and it is.
Clearly the owner took all he saved on rent and put it where it matters; food, and service. The food was fantastic, I had the sole in lemon sauce - and this dish (only $17) beats any top San Francisco or Seattle Seafood Fancy High Dollar chop house hands down.
The vibe is as good as the food, and our server was wonderfully attentive and top of every request. Good wine and beer list, the specialty cocktail offering was creative and reasonably priced.
Go eat at Andrew's - you can thank me later! -

We've been going to Andrew's for over a year now and almost every meal has been great with the exception of two. Both if those times however the management has been more than accommodating. They knew we come in all the time and went out of their way to make sure we come back. And you know what? We will definitely be back! Great food, great prices, decent wine selection.

Although I've since moved out of the area, I did want to update to say that the owner of the restaurant reached out to me with an offer of a gift card to come back and try the food again. Though I couldn't take him up on the offer, I will say that it was nice to have this type of a response from an owner who clearly cares about customers having a bad experience at his restaurant.

I left the restaurant very disappointed...the service was great, the food was good...but they nickle and dime you for everything. If you want to subsitute pasta for the potato, they charge....if you want extra sauce, they charge $2.00 for a small portion, equivalent to a tablespoon. It was overpriced for the area and there are many other restaurants in the vicinity that have a similar atmosphere/quality of food and they will not charge extra for any modifications and will appreciate your business.
As a continuation, my mother just had an issue there tonight. It was so bad that the owner came out and offered she and her party 2 free dinners. Needless to say, it's too little too late.....they will not be returning either.Comment from carl a. of Andrew's Bistro 6/19/2011

Just went here for dinner with my husband on Friday night after reading lots of good reviews. We live in Cumberland and are always looking for good food in the area. This place was really good! The atmosphere inside is nice...perfect lighting. I got one of the specials which was duck in a homemade ragu sauce over pappardelle pasta and my husband got the fruitte di marre. Both dishes were really good. The duck was really tender and you could tell that the sauce has been simmering all day. It had a really rich, deep flavor. The service was great too. Our server was just attentive enough without being annoying. We'll definitely be going back to try out other dishes!

My boyfriend took me here last Friday for a dinner date. We had read some reviews and living in Cumberland we know the area so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by who we learned to be the owner. We waited a few moments and were then seated. The atmosphere was very warming, Christmas music was playing and the restaurant was decorated impeccably. Our server came over and was a delight. We went with the bruschetta for an app and it was awesome. I got the chicken parm for my meal and it was amazing. The chicken was so good and not over breaded. The sauce was great as well as the rigatoni which did not taste at all like it was from a box. My boyfriend got the lobster ravioli which is always my favorite dish. He had it with the Parmesan cream sauce instead of vodka sauce and it was phenomenal. To top it all off in the middle of the dinner service the owner got up and sang a opera Italian song, which made the experience all the more great. Overall from the decor to the service it was a great spot and I definitely will be going back.

As others have mentioned, if you pass on this place by how it looks outside (and what is surrounding it) then you are missing out on some decent Italian food.
And I say decent because it was above the average that I have gotten around lately, but still not great. The Antipasto was ok, but did not have anything on it that made me go wow. It was a bunch of items i could pick up and the store and put on the plate myself. The Veal dish was ok. It has good flavor, but the veal was too thick and ended up being to rubbery. The chicken parm was very good. Well cooked and the sauce was tasty. The Butternut Squash Ravioli were quite good as well.
The prices were on par with what i would have expected and the portion sizes were just right. The service was good and had no complaints about that.Comment from carl a. of Andrew's Bistro 6/21/2011

Andrews is one of those places that people call "a real find". He does *everything* right. The food is something you'd expect to have to be in Boston or Providence and paying through the nose for. The atmosphere (once past the strip mall) is wonderful, with a fireplace and nicely decorated. But people come for the food. Bonus points to the owner for being the social type who likes to talk to his customers.

Great restaurant tucked away in a strip plaza in Cumberland. Easily, the nicest restaurant in Cumberland.
I went there with my date last Saturday night. Was warmly greeted by both managers and told there would be a 10 minute wait (I had no reservation). We went to the bar and quickly found a seat and ordered a couple of glasses of wine. After 15 minutes or so, the managers both came to check on us and apologize that it was over 10 minutes as they said when I walked in. It was beyond their control as some other customers were taking their time eating dinner. I didnt mind the wait and was astonished that they seemed to care so much. They even offered us a complimentary appetizer.
Once seated, the food was good and fairly priced. My date had the baked stuffed lobster and I had the lobster ravioli. Our free app turned out to be a shrimp cocktail (which were on the smallish side).
Atmosphere was very nice, beautiful interior although slightly loud. I will return. Great restaurant run by owners who care.
