Function/Form--Using a limited pallet of soft tones, this stoneware artisan turns slabs of clay into jars, tiles, etc. These pieces of olive/lime/gray/blue gray are decorated with offbeat geometric designs that radiate a zen-like beauty. Viewing these muted colors on minimally-decorated, useful objects reminded me of the visual balance we usually associate with architecture. It's simplicity moved me to a peaceful place.
