It's been almost two months since I started seeing Dr. Andy and I am consistently feeling better and better after each adjustment.

I've also been able to try out the other massage therapists and each one has a unique style and definitely adds to the experience.

I'm definitely going to continue treatment with Dr. Andy. I would recommend people coming in to see him for the first time to ask questions up front if you have any concerns. He is a wealth of knowledge.

Ive been going here now for a few months and after todays experience it was enough to compel me to write a raving review!

Ive been having back (shoulder and neck) issues for almost 6 months now.  I am constantly on the go between cities and rarely sleep and love to use as much energy as possible in the 20 hours a day Im awake.  Hiking, traveling, working, working, gardening, gym, yoga, running, quading, etc. . .it all has my body in constant pain.

I have tried reiki, acupuncture, mineral baths and more and nothing has helped me like Dr Andy Lesko and his amazing crew.  They really know what they are doing and put care into helping you heal.  I am only in SF a few days a week but the days I am, I find myself constantly trying to arrange my day so I can make it over to their spot on Valencia!

I really am trying to decide if its obsessive to go twice in a day sometimes.
Anyways, THANK YOU for having a beyond quality local shop.  Will continue to frequent whenever im in town and having body pain or just need to de-stress.

side note: my last visit the massage therapist spent a little more time working on me than I had thought.  Dr Andy was kind enough without me even knowing to put more money in my meter so I wouldnt walk out with a ticket.  Tip them all well-- they truly put care into their craft and their patients well being.

Suffice it to say, between that time my friend punched me in the face playing basketball, and the time I fell off a moving tank at night in the fog and rain, I've had some back problems.  And in my wildest dreams when I lived in Vermont, in the sterile office of my chiro, where the treatment consisted of basically a belt sander, I could not have begun to imagine such a place, no, a temple of healing and artistic beauty as Doc Andy's.  As someone wrote before, this place is the real deal.  Doc Andy could easily be living at 28 Barbary Lane.

I've been going to see him for almost 14 years now.   I've seen him when my back was a little sore, and he fixed be up in 1 session.   I've seen him when my back was so locked up it felt like I had and arrow sticking into my rib cage, and he saw me twice a day for half a week until I could begin to move again.  You know...the kind of back pain where it hurts to breath.

Doc Andy is an absolute miracle worker.

His prices are always dirt cheap.

He definitely muckles right on to you.  He puts you in a chair, and cracks you neck to the left and right.   Then it's down on the table, where he crosses your arms, and cracks your spine with the momentum of his own body weight. On to the other side!  Crack, crack, crack.

After the back cracking, he has a rotation of massage therapists who give a 10 minute or so massage for tips.  Style of massage varies depending on the therapist.

And if all that isn't enough, Doc Andy is also a painter and sculptor, so there is usually some kind of artistic goings-on as well.   I'm a Philistine so what do I know.

He also gives away free bread and flowers sometimes.

    Um... yes please.

I was painting my old apart back to white (which, BTW, I thought was horrible.  It was so pretty in blue) during my move out and I totally fell off a ladder!

4 Days before I had to move all my stuff into my new place, AKA Heavy lifting and a lot of work.

The next morning I felt fine while getting ready for work until I stretched my arms over my head and felt like my rib popped out of place.  OUCH.

I was so freaked out that I'd be useless when I had to move that I paged my FB for recommendations on where to go.

First off, Andrew's first visit is free.  Kinda too tempting to pass up.

Second, he was so super fast and knew just what needed to be done.  Literally didn't have a second to think.

And Third, the message I go afterwards was soooo good that I literally stood up afterwards and almost fell over.

I have no idea where to begin so I'll start with me. I've had recurring back issues for about 20 years. Have had a ruptured disk, surgery, and have regular flare-ups.  I *need* a good chiropractor and have been frustrated beyond belief in my attempts to find one in the city. One day I had a REALLY bad flare-up (and a new baby to care for, and a husband out of town for work) and someone recommended Dr. Lesko because his business is walk-in and he always "gets the job done".

Going to see Dr. Lesko is a most surreal experience. It's the opposite of what you would expect from a chiropractor.  The first time I walked in the door, I thought I was transported to another country. For some reason, Thailand strikes a chord. It looks like an art gallery with a bunch of old chiropractic tables picked up from a yard sale, all lined up beside each other, out in the open. Interesting aromas. Interesting art. There's a crazy magnet machine thumping in the background. I didn't understand half of what was going on in this place, and it didn't feel very medical-officey, but I was in pain and was willing to try anything.

Don't expect any chit chat or touchey feely bedside manner. At first, I was a bit frightened by the fact that Dr. Lesko rarely asks me what's bothering me. But I quickly realized that this guy REALLY knows what he's doing. He an feel it. He can fix it. EVERY TIME. It's mind blowing. His adjustments are quick and then he sends over a massage therapist to finish the work.  The style of massage varies widely depending on the person performing it, but they have all been spectacular for me so far. Don't be frightened if you find yourself laying face down and suddenly realize that there are elbows on your back and feet on your butt.. that's the Thai massage guy and he ROCKS. I feel like a million bucks after I get the Thai massage.

Bottom line, I go in here every time my back is seriously messed up (once every month or two) and he fixes me EVERY time, without fail, and THAT is what is important. I always know that I will fantastic the next day. (As a side note, I don't always feel "healed" when I walk out the door, but I DO feel it the next day after a night of sleep). I usually only need one visit each flare-up. He's extremely affordable and offers different payment plans based on your usage.. You can just walk in, so there's never a question of last-minute availability. Even if you show up late, he'll stay open for you. He's that kind of guy.  He wouldn't turn anyone away.

Give him a shot next time you're not feeling quite right. The first adjustment is free. You won't regret it. You might feel a little confused when you leave, but your body will feel great.

Enjoy this unconventional yet brilliant healer.

SiFu Doc Andy is NOT for the faint of heart.

He will, however , rack you and crack you and crack you up and teach you  kung fu all in your first visit, and keep you coming back forever based on his sheer tazmanian devil energy and your incessantly building waterfall of giggles.

If he doesn't fix you, his massage therapists ( paid by tip... so pack extra ! ) will make up the difference.

If you need instant help, today

    go and see him

office hours, last i checked - 11-2 mon wed fri sat
    4-6 mon thru fri

and ask him about wing chun kung fu classes

the circus of amazing genei, crazy crackers that rotate through is walls is epic.

you must be taller than /// this sign/// to ride on his ride

If you're on a budget or just want the convenience of "on demand" chiropractic, this is the chiropractor for you!  I have had a stiff neck for years since a car accident and Dr. Andy and his staff really helped me make life bearable again.  Andy is very knowledgeable and you can also get Jon's expertise in acupuncture and a varied supply of massage therapists too.  They do private sessions for an additional fee. This is easy by bus and foot, but don't try to park your car in Chinatown.  Andy has an open workspace so tables are lined up in the main room so not much privacy if you want to discuss your medical condition.  And it's also his art studio so you can check out paintings and sculpture and whatever people are working on at the moment, it changes all the time.  I have been doing an Ionic footsoak detox and I love it!!!

Hours could be better, I would go more often if I felt I could make it there before they close.

I am always very skeptical in going in to any establishment associated with medicine whether it be eastern or western. Cracking bones, no thank you. I did suffer from an occassional migraine of which, I did not share before Dr. Andy gave his analysis. I was interested more in the free massage. Dr. Andy told me that, I had a slight twist in one of the vertebrae in my neck and asked my permission to fix it. I have never had a migraine since. I am sure that he is more in tune than most healers. Hats off to Dr. Andy.

I went to Dr Andy Lesko. I already have had excellent results!
I had places in my spine that were tight for years from wearing those sexy 3 inch high heels!
I went for one session. When I returned I bought a package of 10.
I have gone for about 7 sessions, the tight place moved today! I am committed to assisting my body & spine with flexibility. Chiropractic is a healthy choice for assisting the spine with flexibility.

Service; Chiropractic adjustment followed by a mini massage. Various people available for excellent massage. You can schedule a full massage with any of these wonderful therapists.

Excellent Professional Services. Dr. Lesko has a process he follows with the person, depending on where their body is at currently.

I strongly recommend walking 15 to 20 minutes after the adjustment to integrate the change with your body. If you notice after the walk, something feels out of place, return and ask Dr Lesko about this. Sometimes the body needs the walk for the adjustment to settle & other parts will be more open to moving.

The office; very casual. He does art painting in this office too. Various Asian martial arts are practiced daily.

PLEASE NOTE: Some people go to a Chiropractor when they have a misalignment (pain). After the adjustment, they seem to feel more "pain" afterwards.
What this really is; the spine was suppressing the flow in that area. When the flow opens back up, more sensation will be felt.
Similar to a garden hose with water flowing through it. Kink the hose & the water stops. Unkink the hose and the water immediately rushes out, then calms back down to normal flow.

If you are in pain or even if you feel ideal, Dr. Andy's first free visit is worth  the time and trip to China town.  The doctor will evaluate your spine via touch (no x rays here), adjust your body, and then a superior staff of massage therapists will round out the treatment with some rub a dub dub.  The office is a sight to behold.  The doctor is a terrific artist and and his prodigious skills are in full display.   Oil paintings and sculpture add to the healing environment since the space feels more like a gallery.  Insurance is accepted or several reasonable cash plans are available as well.  The office is open M-F 11-1pm and 4-6pm as well as Saturday 11-1pm.  No appointment is necessary.  Seriously people this a hot deal where your body and wallet will thank you. 415-863-3101 Let them know that Kathryn enthusiasticly sent you.

Dr Andy has skills.  He is a chiropractor artist.  He has also trained in many other healing disciplines from eastern and athletic to nutrition.  He has helped me with my back for 16 years.  His space is not conventional so if you only feel comfortable with waiting room furniture and x-rays his practice may not be for you but I'd recommend him anyway.  He keeps his service affordable and accessible.  He is a hands on chiropractor so you need to be OK with manual adjustment.  I've read here that others don't feel he explains what is going on or what he is doing but he is experienced enough to evaluate with a look and a touch so if you need more explanation just ask.

the smell of cigarettes and a bunch of burnt incense to cover up the cigarettes made my hurt lungs SO FLIPPEN BAD thought i was going to have an asthma attack .... my back was tweaked a little so i went here the other day ONLY because i was in the neighborhood  ... next time i will wait and go to my other Dr. .... i left with my back feeling better, but i couldn't breath. I love people who work in the "healing arts" and smoke cigs ... he is good for the back but BAD for the lungs ... if you go make sure he hasn't just finished a cig or make sure to bring a S.A.R.S. mask with you!

His prices are so reasonable, even students and the unemployed can get relief. And you can go everyday and work out a good payment plan. If you need a chiropractor, go to Andrew Lesko for relief.

One weekend while playing Australian Rules football (http://www.ggafl.com) I got blindsided with a hit that left my neck and collar bone completely out of whack. It was an existing injury that I thought was healed but I was quickly and painfully corrected. After two weeks of ice, heat, anti inflammatories and not being able to turn my head or lift anything heavier than a book, I was done trying to stick it out.
I had just started a job that was 100% commission, so it's safe to say I was on a budget. I have Kaiser through my wife but the co pays for anything close were verging on ridiculous. Then I realized I had been walking past Dr. Andy for months without realizing it, never having the need to be on the look out for such places. So, with the first visit free, he was my man.
I got a haircut in Rome from this old dude with a straight razor and a comb. I have to admit I was a little nervous as he approached me with nothing but that blade, after using mostly hand gestures to communicate what I wanted but it was Italy, after all. I describe that haircut as lawnmower speed and surgeons efficiency and I think the same applies to Dr. Andy. He did a quick analysis of my spine, sat me in a chair and went to work. Before I realized what had happened, my ears had damn near touched each shoulder and I've never heard that much cracking from anybody, let alone myself. He then moved me to the table and realigned my back using techniques similar to reflexology, using only body weight and a little twisting to get things back to where they should be. Maybe 10 minutes later, my neck and collar bone were thankfully relieved, my back was better than before and I was happy I took the chance.

In all fairness, my wife made me do the due diligence as she's more skeptical than I am in general, so there wasn't much risk in my mind and I work in insurance. He's been licensed in multiple states and countries, taught at several institutions yet is as nonchalant as can be. He has a no nonsense, New Yorker's attitude that fixes you and sends you on your way with minimal inconvenience. I'll definitely be going back for any other injuries and, while his full rates are cheaper than any copay I would have through Kaiser and packages even cheaper per visit, I will make him a regular stop once the budget loosens up a little. Still, I recommend him to anybody as he seems the type that will cure what ails you or point you in the right direction if he can't do it himself.

My massage therapist, Geoff Ball recommended I go see Doc Andy for my super tight back, hips and llegs.  Several years back I was hit with Transverse Myelitis, spinal chord damage that caused severe nerve damage causing my muscles to spasm making it very difficult to walk, and in ballance.   I have been coming into this art gallery community healing center for adjustments, massage, and Electrmagnetic Pulse Therapy for a couple of months now and can almost walk normally again. The treatments have been close to miraculous, my gait is much improved, flexibility of my spine has come back and the electric chair from Iraq, as my friend calls the EPT machine, has almost completely eliminated the muscle spasms. For the first time in nine years I feel relaxed, more limber, and my muscles aren't in spasm 24/7.
I highly recommend Doc Andy, he's definitely had a vey positive effect on my health in a very short period of time.  The weekly unlimited plan has allowed my body to make great strides with the amount of therapy I have lovingly received at a fraction of the cost of other offices.
And, he's an extremely talented artist, drop in and check out the only Art Gallery Chiroprtactic office in the City.
