Beautiful winery and decent wine. Although our Silverado Silver Pass weekend stated that Andretti was on the list, they were not. So there we were with our passes in hand and frowns on our faces....however to make up for it they offered us a three for one tasting - not too shabby. And mom being the big port lover did pay $2.00 for a port tasting - and a good port it was.

Do I think their wine is the end all be all? No, but it is nice and well balanced. The prices are fair and the winery is  fabulous. Honestly one of the more beautiful small wineries in the valley. it reminded me of being in Europe - if I ever get there.

If you join the wine club, you will be treated like kings.  The club members get 30% off of the wines you receive in a shipment for the next 30 days.  You also get a discount on any and all the wines and gifts in the tasting room.  As a member, you also get early notice as to when Mario is in town and pouring at the tasting room... or hosting a dinner.
They have a nice area for events.  There is another building  with a fairly large area to have receptions.  As well as a large grassy area.  (I believe Michael Andretti had his wedding reception here.)

My favorite Andretti wines are the Reserves... Montona.  You can't get them anywhere else.  Next is the Napa Valley...  the cab is very nice.  The sangiovese is nice too.  The Selections are so so... but these are great for parties because when you are a member, and the Selections are on sale, you can get a case of wine for under $100.
I like being treated like royalty!!!

Off the busy highway and into the valley, Andretti is tucked behind tall lucious trees. This winery is charming, clearly differing from the posh and sleek places closeby.

The tasting room is small and filled with memorabilia and merchandises of racecar legend Mario Andretti. Their classic tasting is $15 for 5 selections. $4 more to keep the wine glass. Even though Andretti is known for reds, I fell in love with their Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp and refreshing. So delicious.

The service however, dampened the experience. An older gentlemen left us shortly after explaining the tasting. He proceeded to walk past us several times while we waited for him to begin our tasting. Instead he started tending to another group across the room. We saw him take occasional glances in our direction, but never to acknowledge us. Gosh!! Is it because we're Asians?? About to walk out when finally another gentlemen asked if we were being helped. Well obviously not! But this guy was awesome! He was friendly and knowledgable, and gave us his full attention! Unlike someone...*ahem*

We visited Andretti Winery on a 5 day vacation to Napa in early September 2009.  The grounds were pretty which is the only positive thing I can say about this place.  To start, they are one of the few wineries that  still charges you a tasting fee no matter what you buy.  From the moment we walked in the guys in the tasting room we're friendly like the other wineries.  The guy we dealt with wasn't paying too much attention which should have been our first clue to not buy anything.  They were doing a great case sale for $75 for a case plus shipping.  We decided to purchase because the price was great.  We weren't very impressed with the wine, but thought we could fill our wine cellar with some inexpensive bottles.  The guy gave me a form to fill out along and asked my husband to write our shipping address on another form so he could look up the shipping cost while I completed the order.  On my order I marked that they needed to hold the wine until 11/1 to ship as we live in AZ where the temperature was over 115 degrees and the wine would spoil on a UPS truck in that heat.  We discussed with the guy in the wine room and he said there was no problem holding the wine until November.  We paid and were on our way (the guy never gave us a copy of the invoice or anything).  A few days later I get a call from UPS that they have a delivery for us, and it was the Andretti Wine (it was 118 degrees out this day).  We had the shipment reversed and called Andretti immediately.  They said there were no orders to hold the wine and they were charging us another $35 for shipping on top of the $35 we already paid in shipping.  We asked for a copy of the order and they sent us the sheet that the guy had my husband write the shipping address on.  There was NOTHING else written on this page, no order, signature, date or anything.  It didn't even have the price of the wine correct, it said $25/bottle next to price.  We called Andretti again and were told it would be fine and the wine would ship 11/2.  After the rest of the cases we bought in Napa arrived in November we still hadn't received our Andretti shipment.  We called and they first said they had no record of an order from us and would call us back.  After days of waiting we called again & were told they found the order (the one my husband put the shipping address on) and would only ship for another $35.  Again we were told we'd receive a call back and after 2 days of no response we requested a full refund.  We finally just got a refund and they held back our $35 in shipping.  So now because of Andretti's screw up we've paid $35 plus our tasting fees with nothing to show for it other than 2 months of hassle and dealing with rude people who can't even return a call.  I would seriously beware of buying wine from them.  We purchased cases from over 5 other wineries that had way better wine and had a delightful experience with.  I'm not sure why Andretti Winery doesn't have their act together like the others.

As we made our way into wine country, we turned down a gorgeous vine lined road, and eased into Andretti.

It was a sun drenched day, and the warmth was a nice change of pace from the city fog.

The tasting room isn't large, but all 13 of us fit comfortably for the tasting and through our wine shuttle company, we were able to take part in a great 2 for 1 tasting that only left a $12 dent in the pocket.

Their list highlighted a combination of red and whites, but what truly left a mark was their port. Paired with a chocolate, this liquid gold could lull me to sleep any day.

The property reminded me of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Peaceful, quiet, and serene. Lumbering redwoods draped shade over their back patio, and provided you an opportunity to indulge in doing nothing.

I'm a city guy, but my mind would have no qualms about settling in wine country.

A friend of ours said he was "surprised" with this winery!

We found we were surprised too! Outstanding, rich flavors, quiet, charming and of course knowledgeable/friendly staff make this a MUST for your tours!

The tasting room is small but very friendly and warm....The wines, some great selections and very reasonably priced!

Walk and enjoy the beauty of this estate....well worth it!

Gorgeous tasting room, and you have to respect the Andretti family racing legacy.  The grounds remind you of an Italian villa, relaxed but sophisticated at the same time.  I was referred here by Jesús from Black Stallion and was not disappointed.

Inside, you'll find the usual assortment of Italian varietals - Sangios, a Zin Primitivo, and I could have sworn there was a Tempranillo there but can't find it on their page at the moment.  Not super impressed with the wines, except for the Zin Primitivo, which was excellent, but the server was friendly, knowledgeable, and we talked old cars on a slow Tuesday.  A fine, relaxing visit to round out a Napa Valley tour when you've had your fill of the Napa Valley scene and want a more laid back setting.

This place is absolutely stunning! I wish I lived in a house that looked just like it. I was sold the minute we pulled up. The two guys who poured for us were spunky and funny. We had a great time in there but part of it could have been due to the fact that this was winery number 5 =). Nonetheless, the experience was great and the winery was adorable.

I can't comment too much about the wine itself, my palette was exhausted but I don't remember not liking anything we tasted. Definitely want to come back!

I subtracted one star for the rather high tasting fee. $12 per head and we had a two for one so it ended up being $6 which is reasonable. $12 is too much!

This is one of the most beautiful wineries I've been to in Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

I came here through the Wine Country Tour Shuttle and everyone on my bus loved it! The winery guide, Jay, was engaging and had a great sense of humor. At the end of the tour, he came onto our bus and offered a free corkscrew to anyone who could answer a trivia question.

The beautiful grounds reminded me of Italy and all merchandise in the store was 50% off on the day we visited.

Try the pinot grigio (that's saying a lot, coming from a non-white wine fan).

With the tasting of 5 different wines, I didn't quite find a favorite.

The atmosphere was great and so were the workers. They even took pictures of us behind the bar with their bottle of wine which I thought was a nice touch.

Besides the beautiful property with plenty of picture perfect photos, the wine wasn't in favor with my taste buds.

This tasting was enjoyable, if a little pedestrian.  Being with a larger group, we had an outside initial tasting.  While good, it wasn't very familiar.

The wines were good, the Zin especially so.

We will return.

Came here on a tour with some friends and it was the last stop of the day.  We really enjoyed the tasting and purchased their Zinfandel.  We were lucky that the weather was amazing that day and the mustard field behind the winery was in full bloom.  It was gorgeous!
I will be back next time I'm in the area and will look for their wines on menu's when I'm out dining.

The Andretti winery is such a beautiful place.  It almost felt like I was at an Italian villa.  Since we were part of a private group, we were able to taste their wines in a special room without the general public. The only thing that bothered me about the tasting here was that they seemed to be a little on the stingy side when pouring.  They had a special measuring spout on their bottles limiting their pours to a couple of ounces, maybe even less.  All the other wineries we visited poured straight from the bottle.  They have an amazing Syrah.  I would recommend picking up a couple of bottles!!

Cheers!

This was our last stop, and maybe it was because we came here at the end of day, but our group in general was not impressed with the wines or the service.  The one redeeming factor was the mustard dip, and I find that kinda sad for a winery.  Maybe other people had better experiences, but I wouldn't recommend stopping by here

This was another stop on our winery tour. I wasn't too impressed at all by the wine. Since it was late in the day, we didn't get a chance to see the grounds...only the tasting room. And that was fine. I was ready to move on.

I've been here twice; I really wanted to like this place...but they have the worst tasting wines in the Valley.

They have a beautiful property, but the wines are pretty yucky.

Not worth paying the tasting fees for this...

Another stop on my Napa Wine Tour last Mother's Day weekend (see http://www.yelp.com/us...) was the Andretti Winery. I thought, common - the guy drives race cars, what does he know about wine?

I guess it's not what you know but who you hire. This was the first Cabernet all day that I liked. In fact, everyone in our group bought at least one bottle of it.

We did see a couple of race cars but that was not the reason we were there.

I saved the cab and opened it the next time my mom came for a visit.

I must say... I've met Mario at the races at Laguna Seca, he is one of my childhood heroes, and I've always enjoyed the wine here... but today, I had to walk out. I work in a winery tasting room on occasion, and today I brought two guests with me to visit Andretti. The tasting room was crowded and we stood behind two people whom were being pitched the wine club by a female staff member. I expected when she finished, she would greet us and we could do some tasting. I made eye contact with her and another staffer who was ringing out some customers, but after standing there for seven or eight minutes. I couldn't get anyone to even acknowledge our presence, let alone help us. I just found myself thinking... "if I treated customers like this in our tasting room, my boss would skin me alive"! Finally, with my apologies to my guests, we left. Again, love the wine, love Mario, but the staff let him down today. In contrast, we made our way to Luna, where the guy behind the bar was busy with customers when we walked in, but looked up, greeted us with a smile and said "I'll be with you in just a moment". It's really not that hard folks.

Not a whole lot to say about the winery.  The staff was really nice, the building the tasting room is in is pretty, but I didn't have a lot of heart for any of the 4 wines I tried.

While there we received a few good restaurant recommendations, so that was an added perk.

The wines were good, but nothing that I would consider to be too unique or worth purchasing.  A little off the beaten path (29) which I consider good, as it gave us a chance to explore a little of the Silverado trail (pretty views).

Nice enough place, but probably won't be making a return.

Okay so first things first... I don't know jack about wine.  BUT I know when things taste good and I've gotta admit, the wine at the Andretti Winery was pretty freaking awesome.

First off, the wine tasting is only $10 for four samples... and if you happen to look at their events and plan your trip accordingly, they have some days where they give away free food [hot dogs, but hey, they've got designer ketchup and mustard :P] and two MORE free samples of wine.  When I went, they were giving samples of the merlot rose and another one [which I don't really remember because the rose was so awesome that my friends and I each had at least two glasses].  The wines in the tasting room were also pretty good and they usually have some kind of sale if you want to buy a case of something.

I loved Andretti because of [besides the wine and grub] the atmosphere... its very Spanish Mission looking, and it has a gorgeous fountain in the middle of its courtyard.  I would definitely hit this place for those who want to go wine tasting on a budget or who want a great place to take pictures.

Well, like many others, I think the best thing about this winery is the architecture.. Driving up you see this picturesque Tuscan inspired villa, with a cute little courtyard complete with a fountain and big wooden castle-like doors to enter into the tasting room.

From there, it all just kinda falls flat.. of the 8 wines we tried, two were decent- the Zinfandel-Primitivo Blend and the Sangiovese were both nice, but everything else was just so-so..

The service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either...

Tastings are $8 for 4 tastes or $12 gets you a logo glass to take home after your 4 tastes..

They do get an extra star for being dog friendly.

When we pulled up to the winery, we expected something entirely different from what the tasting room offered.

The outside looks like a Tuscan villa. It reminded me of what I experienced abroad in Italy...but the tasting room....reeked of Nascar.

We were unaware of the fact that this particular winery was owned by a famous racecar driver, but we should have known when we noticed the type of things that owned the shop. Framed racecar prints, flip-flop wine holders....

The wine was good, though. I liked the way this tasting went. For $14 each, we got to CHOOSE four wines AND take home a wine glass. The list of wines was impressive, something for everybody...and you could choose what YOU wanted rather than what the winery wants you to try.

I walked away with a tasty bottle of Fume Blanc (This winery did some impressive whites.)

If Will Smith music, Nascar prints, and jarred mustards don't bother you, go have some fun.

The Andretti Winery property is beautiful, reminding me of something you'd find in a small picturesque Italian village, but the service sucked.  Wait, is there a level below sucked? Because that's where it would be.

After visiting other wineries during our trip, where we had a lovely time, I was quite disappointed in Andretti's. First off, I felt they over charged.  Had the wine been good, I wouldn't be so ticked, but the wine was... what's the correct wine terminology I'm looking for? ---Yecccch! Yeah, that's it.

And the customer service? There was none.  They had three people working, it wasn't busy and the service was non-existent. Had I wanted to be ignored, I sure as hell would have not gone all the way to a winery for it.

I think the place needs a complete staff overhaul.

Stick to your day job, Mario!

This hidden little gem is off the beaten path of where you'll find most of Napa's biggest wine draws. Owned by race car legend Mario Andretti, you'll feel like you found a little slice of Tuscany right here in Napa proper.  The grounds are beautiful, the setting is charming and the Chardonnay is just how I like it, with a dry buttery edge to it.  Now put down the checkered flag and let's pour!

I have been to the Andretti winery a couple of times and have found that the service is a lot of fun.
Today was no exception.
Walking in, we were greeted by a friendly tasting room manager and told that he was going to help the group of people and would be with us quickly. Within 5 minutes, we were asked our names, where we were from, joked about our random stories and all around treated like friends.

The wines are decent. Not some of the best in the Napa Valley, but my favorites are the Pinot Noir and the Sauvignon Blanc.

Beautiful location that reminds me of a villa in Tuscany, with a well designed tasting room.

This was the last stop on a Napa Wine tour I took.  I liked this winery, but it wasn't my favorite.  i didn't go on the tour but sampled wines in the tasting room.  It is nothing spectacular, but it is quaint.  I think this place is great for someone simply coming to taste and find new wines not to be awed by their huge winery!
The place its self is really simply with a single tasting bar, however with our group we got to sit outside and taste wines which was nice and made for some great pictures.  This is also the only place I have been to where you sit outside right next to the vineyards.   It was nice to be able to walk around through the vineyards, since it was about 4'o'clock and the sun wasn't so high anymore, it madet for a nice romantic afternoon stroll, great way to end a day.

Not my favorite by far.  Considering that the Andretti owns it, you think there would be a race car on display or something, nope.  We asked the server and she told us that he is only there like one or two days out of the year.  The wine was not memorable.  The dark chocolate covered almonds were memorable, however not in a good way.  Luckily I hate dark chocolate, so I didn't eat any.  Unfortunately for my husband, mom, dad, and little sister they did eat them and they all spent the next day fighting over the toilet in our one bathroom apartment.  (I can't be positive that it was the evil almonds but they were the only thing my family all ate that I didn't so I am using my powers of deduction.)

Ok...this winery is actually pretty cool in terms of the service. It shouldn't just be known as "that winery racing ledgend Mario Andretti owns"...it's quite tasty!  The man doing the pouring was very knoledgeable and chatted us up for a good 45 minutes...so much so that he suckered my man into joing the wine club! lol  I shouldn't say suckered because we STILL enjoy getting our shipments in the mail...mmm.  The grounds are lovely, plain and simple, but lovely.

We decided to stop by this winery since my bf wanted to support Mario Andretti, race car driver's winery.  It was a small place and the architecture had some Italian feeling.  The man pouring the wine was very sociable.  Out of the wines I tasted, I enjoyed their Pinot Noir.

I've been to this winery mulitple times and have always received excellent and attentive service. The grounds are picturesque, perfect for a photo. Their white wines are decent for the price. My favorite would be the sauvignon blanc, very fruity and very well priced. From what I am told the reds aren't stellar, but I find the whites very refreshing.

It's a sad day in wine tasting when the architecture of the winery itself is the best part.  When we pulled up and I felt like I was looking at at a small lodge in Tuscany.  When we left,  I needed a chaser just to get the tart taste off of my pallet. The Pinot Noir was decent. The rest was so-so.
