I have been to Andretti Winery three times as recommended by a friend. The scenery reminds me of Italy with the villa type look, string of lights outside, and fountain at the entrance. The tasting rooms are a good size. During my visits, I have found that the rooms have not been overcrowded or too loud. There is a long counter top from which the pourers/sommeliers/wine peeps (?) pour... so there has been good room for a small (have gone with 4 people) to large (have been in a group of 8) groups of wine tasters. I don't know about the other reviews, but my friends and I have always had a good experience with the service. I think we've been served by Bill and Ruth (amongst others... sorry that I don't recall all of their names) and I love the laid back atmosphere. It's like wine tasting with good friends and family!
I am a novice at wine tasting (since 2010!), and I have learned that there is an element of objective and subjective preferences for wine. Nonetheless, I enjoy their Cabernet Sauvignon and like their Moscato (good for very novice wine tasters... because of its sweetness). I recently attended a wine club event there and (from food/wine pairing) have come to appreciate their Syrah (a must-try with warm, moist dark chocolate cake). If you want a nice place to relax, taste some wine with friends, and chat with the wine pourers/sommeliers... Andretti is a great place to visit. -

Brief Description: If you check in with Yelp you get 50% off wine tasting. Located off of Silverado Trail. Yes this is owned by Mario Andretti the race car driver. No there are no Ferarri on site. If you call ahead they can tell you if they are having an event where they will have Ferarri.
Flight Cost: $5 to $30
Facility: Tasting Room and Grounds are small. They have a nice fountain in front of the tasting room.
Picnic Area Available: No
Food Available for purchase: No
Additional Info: They have a gift shop where you can purchase shirts, sweaters, hat with the Ferrari logo. My favorite was the Dolcetto and the one I disliked was the Zinfandel Port, super strong like drinking bourbon.Listed in: Enjoying Napa to the…

this was our first stop. the winery itself has a certain charm that reminded me of italy. it wasn't crowded and i liked that, during the tasting, we were encouraged to walk outside and enjoy the grounds. (this was definitely not the case at other vineyards we visited).
our wine sommelier was really charming and kind. i didn't care for the wine here as much as i did at other vineyards, but i did appreciate the tasting experience. -

My team had an afternoon scheduled at the winery - wine tasting & tour, teambuilding activities, and dinner. The winery is rustic, kinda interesting...they don't seem to have a lot of events here. Their dining room had extension cords hanging from their ceiling. Dinner was pretty good - they have chefs & a kitchen on property which makes an event much more reasonable, we actually saved us a lot of $$. They have a nice lawn area overlooking the vineyards - picturesque. It was close to the Silverado so it was convenient for our teambuilding event, otherwise it's probably not a venue I'd recommend.

Nice winery, not crowded, beautiful grounds, ample parking and polite & informative staff. I have visited this wineray a few times & always find it a treat. Their Sangiorvese wine is my favorite...not one on the tasting flights, but ask & they will add it in at n/c. Few of the other wineries offer this particular type of wine. This past weekend all of Napa seemed to be on sale and most of the wineries had a half price special going; Andretti had all wines for 1/2 price but unlike the other wineries that had the same special you didn't have to join their wine club.

What I really liked about this tasting room was that they has quite a few options on the menu & you get to choose which wine you would like to taste. For $15 you get to choose 5 wines. The winery next door only had 4 wines already chosen for you for the same price.
The winery itself is really beautiful. On a clear, sunny day it's like being in paradise :) -

My bf and I are not really winery people. But we are mustard people, so we went to the Livingsocial mustard-making event at Andretti. It was really awesome, highly recommended.

Visited Andretti Winery as part of a Living Social Adventure. The view was nice but not as stunning as other wineries I've been too. I think the fact that they didn't have any wine aging on the facility threw me off. where were the barrels?
So we moved onto the patio for our tasting. My favorite were the Pinot and the Syrah. Our lunch was also provided (as part of our living social adventure). Not sure if the winery ordered it or living social, but it was a nice little box lunch with salad, fruit and a procutto sandwich. -

This place was awful. The pourers were pushy. The wine was gross. I think they're trying to bank on their name. I think the Andretti family should stick to racing and leave the wine to the professionals.

There are 2 kinds of wineries that charge something like $15 for a tasting: the kind that sells wonderful and potentially expensive wine and the kind that has to make up for the fact that their wine is sub par by overcharging for tastings. This winery is certainly the latter.
It's bad enough to be charged $15 to taste wine that isn't very good, but to additionally have rude and sparse service is frustrating. Standing and waiting for a pour while the 97 employees who are there are doing God knows what to help the 4 other customers in the tasting room makes one wonder why one did not just leave after the first pour.
The sangiovese was pretty good and I found a t-shirt that I liked. That's why they got a whole 2 stars instead of just 1.
I hope that this is really just the super secret facade for the Andretti family wine grape ethanol 900 miles to the gallon uber race car fuel that will one day win America its energy independence, but I doubt it. -
Review from Gina C.
Booooooo my first wine tasting experience wasn't what I expected. Do wineries let you stomp on grapes with your bare feet? Am I relying on movies to much? And what happened to barrel tasting? If I wanted to taste wine out of a bottle I could've just went to Bevmo and bought myself a whole bunch of wine and sat in my living room and tasted them all. And what about a grand tour of the winery? Or snacks they might provide while you're tasting to enhance the flavor of the wine? Tell me people! Do I just not have any idea of what wine tasting should be like?
Anyway for further details of this winery please read my friend Pearl's review below :) -

Rude tasting bar attendants, inattentive service in general, wine that is mediocre at best and you get to pay $15 for it.
I think not. Do yourself a favor, save your money and skip this one. -

I have to say, this place was pretty bad. It certainly put a damper on the day. I went to the tasting room with two close female friends for the tasting (both the same age). The guy who started us off opened by saying "I'll need to see ID's on you and you" pointing to me and one of the women but not the other. We were all taken aback by this and frankly, if you're going to card one you should us all. After this he proceeded to serve us once and then not so much disappear but just ignore us. Standing around we waited as another server, who was somewhat busy, and was intermittently helped us.
I have to say, if I'm paying as much as 15 bucks for a tasting you better not ignore me and you certainly shouldn't insult my friends.
Not going back and believe when I say, you should really try someplace else if you find yourself in this neck of the woods. It *might* be an okay experience for you, by why risk it? Inconsistent to poor service and you're paying for it too! -
Review from Marti L.
Off the busy highway and into the valley, Andretti is tucked behind tall lucious trees. This winery is charming, clearly differing from the posh and sleek places closeby.
The tasting room is small and filled with memorabilia and merchandises of racecar legend Mario Andretti. Their classic tasting is $15 for 5 selections. $4 more to keep the wine glass. Even though Andretti is known for reds, I fell in love with their Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp and refreshing. So delicious.
The service however, dampened the experience. An older gentlemen left us shortly after explaining the tasting. He proceeded to walk past us several times while we waited for him to begin our tasting. Instead he started tending to another group across the room. We saw him take occasional glances in our direction, but never to acknowledge us. Gosh!! Is it because we're Asians?? About to walk out when finally another gentlemen asked if we were being helped. Well obviously not! But this guy was awesome! He was friendly and knowledgable, and gave us his full attention! Unlike someone...*ahem*Listed in: Wine & Dine

As we made our way into wine country, we turned down a gorgeous vine lined road, and eased into Andretti.
It was a sun drenched day, and the warmth was a nice change of pace from the city fog.
The tasting room isn't large, but all 13 of us fit comfortably for the tasting and through our wine shuttle company, we were able to take part in a great 2 for 1 tasting that only left a $12 dent in the pocket.
Their list highlighted a combination of red and whites, but what truly left a mark was their port. Paired with a chocolate, this liquid gold could lull me to sleep any day.
The property reminded me of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Peaceful, quiet, and serene. Lumbering redwoods draped shade over their back patio, and provided you an opportunity to indulge in doing nothing.
I'm a city guy, but my mind would have no qualms about settling in wine country. -

This was our second stop and we didn't do the tour or anything. I thought it was ok, nothing special and I wouldn't go back. The building is very pretty and would be a cool spot for an event or wedding or something. They kinda rush you through as I imagine it gets pretty busy here.

Another stop on my Napa Wine Tour last Mother's Day weekend (see http://www.yelp.com/us...) was the Andretti Winery. I thought, common - the guy drives race cars, what does he know about wine?
I guess it's not what you know but who you hire. This was the first Cabernet all day that I liked. In fact, everyone in our group bought at least one bottle of it.
We did see a couple of race cars but that was not the reason we were there.
I saved the cab and opened it the next time my mom came for a visit. -

Beautiful winery and decent wine. Although our Silverado Silver Pass weekend stated that Andretti was on the list, they were not. So there we were with our passes in hand and frowns on our faces....however to make up for it they offered us a three for one tasting - not too shabby. And mom being the big port lover did pay $2.00 for a port tasting - and a good port it was.
Do I think their wine is the end all be all? No, but it is nice and well balanced. The prices are fair and the winery is fabulous. Honestly one of the more beautiful small wineries in the valley. it reminded me of being in Europe - if I ever get there.Listed in: Napaliciousness.....

Well, like many others, I think the best thing about this winery is the architecture.. Driving up you see this picturesque Tuscan inspired villa, with a cute little courtyard complete with a fountain and big wooden castle-like doors to enter into the tasting room.
From there, it all just kinda falls flat.. of the 8 wines we tried, two were decent- the Zinfandel-Primitivo Blend and the Sangiovese were both nice, but everything else was just so-so..
The service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either...
Tastings are $8 for 4 tastes or $12 gets you a logo glass to take home after your 4 tastes..
They do get an extra star for being dog friendly.Listed in: Dog Friendly Places

Gorgeous tasting room, and you have to respect the Andretti family racing legacy. The grounds remind you of an Italian villa, relaxed but sophisticated at the same time. I was referred here by Jesús from Black Stallion and was not disappointed.
Inside, you'll find the usual assortment of Italian varietals - Sangios, a Zin Primitivo, and I could have sworn there was a Tempranillo there but can't find it on their page at the moment. Not super impressed with the wines, except for the Zin Primitivo, which was excellent, but the server was friendly, knowledgeable, and we talked old cars on a slow Tuesday. A fine, relaxing visit to round out a Napa Valley tour when you've had your fill of the Napa Valley scene and want a more laid back setting.Listed in: Travels With Brimley

If you're a fan of Italian villas, you'll love this place. We got served by Mr. Andretti himself, very friendly guy and made the tasting fun. But the tasting room feels a bit more like a souvenir shop than a place to enjoy some Napa Valley wine.
The standouts for me were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Syrah. They're good, but not great. They also have some good deals- $75 bucks for a case, which is quite the deal. -

They have a beautiful property, but the wines are pretty yucky.

Considering this was my first visit to a winery, I didn't really know what to expect. However, this visit did not really "wow" me in particular... but then again, what do I know, really...
First off, the Andretti Winery grounds were very beautiful and quaint looking. The buildings had an aged look to them, but I think that it was designed that way. We lucked out with the weather and it was sunny but not too hot to enjoy the wine outdoors.
We had an appointment for a private tour with Amanda. We were her only appointment of the day, which striked me a little odd. After introducing ourselves, she gave us a quick tour through the buildings and a little history about the owner Mario Andretti before settling us in at a table to begin the tastings. After the first glass, she took us for a look at one of the grapevines and gave us a little history about why rosebushes are planted at each end of the plots. After that, we went back to the table to taste more wine. Then we took another stroll to see the silos that the wine would be stored in, and Amanda described the process of bottling wine.
We tasted a total of 5 different wines. We were a bit disappointed that we didn't get to stomp on any grapes (is that offered anywhere at all?) or get to do any barrel tastings. I suppose it was because it was a smaller vineyard compared to some of the big names in Napa Valley, only boasting 42 acres, which are small potatoes compared to the likes of Mondavi or other wineries.
The price per person was $20 for 5 pre-set wine tastings, but since we had mentioned that we were in Napa for my birthday, she waived my $20 fee, which was a nice surprise. So not too shabby for my first winery experience! -

If you join the wine club, you will be treated like kings. The club members get 30% off of the wines you receive in a shipment for the next 30 days. You also get a discount on any and all the wines and gifts in the tasting room. As a member, you also get early notice as to when Mario is in town and pouring at the tasting room... or hosting a dinner.
They have a nice area for events. There is another building with a fairly large area to have receptions. As well as a large grassy area. (I believe Michael Andretti had his wedding reception here.)
My favorite Andretti wines are the Reserves... Montona. You can't get them anywhere else. Next is the Napa Valley... the cab is very nice. The sangiovese is nice too. The Selections are so so... but these are great for parties because when you are a member, and the Selections are on sale, you can get a case of wine for under $100.
I like being treated like royalty!!! -

Cool spot. Very limited parking. There's a fountain on the patio, an L-shaped counter for tastings, racing photos, pretzels and mustard samples. Tastings were $15 for 5 wines. I know I had the Pinot Noir and the Cabernet. I got sugar shock from the Muscat. It was pretty hard to swallow. The staff was friendly and the grounds were very nice. There were places to take your wine outside and we met a great group of folks from Livermore. A cat wandering the grounds and of course Andretti shirts you purchase.

This place is absolutely stunning! I wish I lived in a house that looked just like it. I was sold the minute we pulled up. The two guys who poured for us were spunky and funny. We had a great time in there but part of it could have been due to the fact that this was winery number 5 =). Nonetheless, the experience was great and the winery was adorable.
I can't comment too much about the wine itself, my palette was exhausted but I don't remember not liking anything we tasted. Definitely want to come back!
I subtracted one star for the rather high tasting fee. $12 per head and we had a two for one so it ended up being $6 which is reasonable. $12 is too much! -

This tasting was enjoyable, if a little pedestrian. Being with a larger group, we had an outside initial tasting. While good, it wasn't very familiar.
The wines were good, the Zin especially so.

This was the last stop on a Napa Wine tour I took. I liked this winery, but it wasn't my favorite. i didn't go on the tour but sampled wines in the tasting room. It is nothing spectacular, but it is quaint. I think this place is great for someone simply coming to taste and find new wines not to be awed by their huge winery!
The place its self is really simply with a single tasting bar, however with our group we got to sit outside and taste wines which was nice and made for some great pictures. This is also the only place I have been to where you sit outside right next to the vineyards. It was nice to be able to walk around through the vineyards, since it was about 4'o'clock and the sun wasn't so high anymore, it madet for a nice romantic afternoon stroll, great way to end a day. -

Yes Mario, the famous race car driver owns part of this place
I found out his buddy who runs the place used to be the CEO of Kmart in its heyday
They take this grape growing business very serious
not all of thier wines were awesome but the Sarah they had blew my socks off!
the Fume they had was also very top notch
i ended up buying a few bottles of soviegn blanc and even at home they stand up very well
Expect big things from this place in the next few years -

Okay so first things first... I don't know jack about wine. BUT I know when things taste good and I've gotta admit, the wine at the Andretti Winery was pretty freaking awesome.
First off, the wine tasting is only $10 for four samples... and if you happen to look at their events and plan your trip accordingly, they have some days where they give away free food [hot dogs, but hey, they've got designer ketchup and mustard :P] and two MORE free samples of wine. When I went, they were giving samples of the merlot rose and another one [which I don't really remember because the rose was so awesome that my friends and I each had at least two glasses]. The wines in the tasting room were also pretty good and they usually have some kind of sale if you want to buy a case of something.
I loved Andretti because of [besides the wine and grub] the atmosphere... its very Spanish Mission looking, and it has a gorgeous fountain in the middle of its courtyard. I would definitely hit this place for those who want to go wine tasting on a budget or who want a great place to take pictures. -

Came here on a tour with some friends and it was the last stop of the day. We really enjoyed the tasting and purchased their Zinfandel. We were lucky that the weather was amazing that day and the mustard field behind the winery was in full bloom. It was gorgeous!
I will be back next time I'm in the area and will look for their wines on menu's when I'm out dining. -
Review from Annie D.
With the tasting of 5 different wines, I didn't quite find a favorite.
The atmosphere was great and so were the workers. They even took pictures of us behind the bar with their bottle of wine which I thought was a nice touch.
Besides the beautiful property with plenty of picture perfect photos, the wine wasn't in favor with my taste buds. -

A friend of ours said he was "surprised" with this winery!
We found we were surprised too! Outstanding, rich flavors, quiet, charming and of course knowledgeable/friendly staff make this a MUST for your tours!
The tasting room is small but very friendly and warm....The wines, some great selections and very reasonably priced!
Walk and enjoy the beauty of this estate....well worth it! -

When we pulled up to the winery, we expected something entirely different from what the tasting room offered.
The outside looks like a Tuscan villa. It reminded me of what I experienced abroad in Italy...but the tasting room....reeked of Nascar.
We were unaware of the fact that this particular winery was owned by a famous racecar driver, but we should have known when we noticed the type of things that owned the shop. Framed racecar prints, flip-flop wine holders....
The wine was good, though. I liked the way this tasting went. For $14 each, we got to CHOOSE four wines AND take home a wine glass. The list of wines was impressive, something for everybody...and you could choose what YOU wanted rather than what the winery wants you to try.
I walked away with a tasty bottle of Fume Blanc (This winery did some impressive whites.)
If Will Smith music, Nascar prints, and jarred mustards don't bother you, go have some fun. -

I have been to the Andretti winery a couple of times and have found that the service is a lot of fun.
Today was no exception.
Walking in, we were greeted by a friendly tasting room manager and told that he was going to help the group of people and would be with us quickly. Within 5 minutes, we were asked our names, where we were from, joked about our random stories and all around treated like friends.
The wines are decent. Not some of the best in the Napa Valley, but my favorites are the Pinot Noir and the Sauvignon Blanc.
Beautiful location that reminds me of a villa in Tuscany, with a well designed tasting room. -

I came here with Cindy D., Jen L. and Amy D. This was our favorite spot out of our whole trip!
We loooved this place. Their zinfandels were our favorites out of the entire trip. The people were really nice, and not bad looking btw. If you ask nicely, theyll give you extra tastings. make sure to look for 2 for 1 coupons for their tastings online.
