Based on Yelp, Eric and I rolled over to Andrea's Natural Marble & Stone Company one morning unannounced.  I don't know what I was expecting (maybe a stone yard?), but we found our way in through a lightly marked door, and entered somewhere that felt distinctly like my grandpa's garage+marble&stone.  It was awesome!

Andrea greeted us, I think he's a third generation stone worker, and his dad (who came over from Italy in the 60's) was in the upstairs office.  We trooped down to the fabrication area (which was on lunch) and Andrea gave us the royal treatment.  He showed us all kind of stone, explained lots and lots, and at no point seemed sales-y or only in it for the money (which I felt was truthful, because I'd tried to do some research after a separate, less than great, experience at a stone yard elsewhere, and the things Andrea explained came across clearly).

We were having a small galley kitchen done in granite (on the existing cabinets) and decided to have the bathroom vanity top done as well.  The job would've been too small for many other places (did both rooms with one slab!).  Working with Andrea felt like working with family, and he was so nice.  It really came across that he cared about stone, and about making a great product for his customers, and he was obviously totally dedicated to his work.

He gave us a tip on where to go choose stone - IRG in Brisbane, even though we thought we might use a remnant from his supply.  We found something at IRG called Lava Jewel, which is amazing - lots of veining.  The fabricators and Andrea managed to cut one continuous piece from the slab in an L shape, which was awesome - no seams!  And the most amazing part is that the backsplash lines up with the veining, so it looks like it wraps up the wall.  Every edge is perfect, the guys with him installing were total gentlemen, and working with Andrea felt like I was hanging out with my dad.  I don't know if he's this nice to everyone (I'm guessing he is), but we totally hit it off, and he helped us with a number of steps in the process that we didn't know we were up to (including demoing our old counter tops, putting in runners to support the granite, and leveling our own counters).

Andrea was great, I wish we have more things to cover in stone, and I know if I have another place to redo, he'll be the first person I'll call.  Actually, if we ever get moved in/unpacked, I want to have him over for dinner!  By far in this home renovation experience, Andrea was the easiest person to work with.  Oh, and the price came in at about $1000 less than the other 3 bids I got.  I'm cheap, but it still rocked!  And now, we have lovely, lovely, lovely counter tops that are awesome!  Yay!

Since the reviews were mostly positive, I was looking forward to moving forward with Andrea.  Sent in my specs; clarified a few items; gave me a quote; etc.  I wanted to know how different levels of honing the stone would look, and he said he would meet me at his store one Saturday so I could see some samples.  The day before, I sent him a confirming email.  The next day, I called to confirm (as he asked me to do).  No answer.  Left a message.  No answer.  Left another message to arrange to meet another time.  No answer.

    What a dissapointment.

Not only are these guys quite affordable, but they are also extremely professional, friendly, good people who did a fantastic, timely job on our counters, despite the fact that we could not make up our minds and were constantly flip-flopping. Very patient, good-natured people.

I could not imagine going anywhere else for help with stonework - these people are masters of the art with multiple generations of working in the craft in their family. It's truly in their blood at this point, and their work reflects that.

Check out their selection of stone remnants -- granite, marble, quartz, slate, etc.  You'll get a fantastic deal for the material and fabrication is on site.  It worked out great for us since we didn't have to use stone from one giant slab on all 3 of our bathrooms!

True, the location isn't the greatest (in the Bayview) but it's in the same general location as most of the other stone fabricators in SF!  Not sure how he gets his business since we haven't seen him advertise, but Giovanni (the owner, nice older gentleman) worked with our idea and gave us a great price on on our custom marble bathroom counters.  Giovanni asked for 2 weeks to complete the job and it was done in a little over a week.

    Beautiful precision work!

    Great service and price

Contacted Andrea to replace a white carrera marble vanity top. He came out to measure with sample which was whiter than what I was trying to match. Visited his factory which has many slabs to choose from. Picked slab that was closest match to what I had, gave him vanity and sink cutout measurements, and had it a few days later.  As I was trying to save money, he told me how to install myself, and provided the epoxy and caulk too.  Extremely happy with the finished product -- and with his great pricing, saved about $400 compared to other quotes I received.  Andrea is a great guy and very personable.

Andrea of Andrea's Natural Marble was one of the best contractor experiences I have had in quite awhile.  He was so professional, showed up after hours (8pm) to accommodate my work schedule and I felt immediately comfortable that I was working with an artisan.  He helped me match granite that had been installed 10 years earlier for my kitchen.  Did miter edges that are completely invisible and the granite fit the space like a glove.  He takes such pride in his work and I could not help but give him a big hug when he left!  The job looks fabulous was affordable and will make me happy for years to come.  A BIG THUMBS UP!!

This review will be updated once the job is done but I have to say how pleased I am with Andrea's Marble so far. They were the lowest bid for our project (3 countertops) and are very flexible and easy to work with. Giovanni is a nice guy who's been in the business for a long time (22yrs?).

They're location isn't the greatest. More to come once after the job is done.

    **UPDATE**
Giovanni finished the job before the estimated time he needed and held onto the counters for us without needing more money, etc.

He personally coordinated the packing of the counters into our contractor's truck making sure everything was packed tightly.

For my next tile, marble, or granite  project I am going to  Andrea's Marble.

These guys are absolutely awesome. Several months ago, I bought a big slab of slate to be made into counter tops. They stored it for me until the kitchen and bathroom cabinets were installed when they could finally take measurements and make templates for cutting.

There was an unforeseen delay over Christmas because Giovanni had sick staff and was about to leave for Italy for the holidays. I needed the counter-tops done by the end of the first week in January. Giovanni returned to work on the first Monday in January. They came out to take final measurements and make templates on Tuesday morning. Before starting to cut on Tuesday afternoon, they discovered a major crack through the slab, making it unusable. I went back to the vendor late on Tuesday afternoon and arranged for a replacement slab.

Giovanni picked up the new slab on Wednesday morning, promising to do his best to get the fabrication done by Friday afternoon despite the loss of a day. He called me at the end of the day (3:00 p.m. for this shop) on Thursday to tell me that the counter tops were complete. We rushed over and picked it up. They had done an incredible job, sizing the counters exactly, cut-outs for under-mount sinks and faucets. The counters are going into an old house, so nothing is quite square. Despite this, the counters fit exactly.

And on top of all this great service, this was the least expensive of the places that I got estimates from.

We decided to go with Della Maggiore Stone, Inc for our granite installation and saved over $4,000.  Much better selection at Integrated Resources.

I'm a general contractor, a client of mine purchased stone and had it delivered to Andrea's.  We originally planned on using Andrea's to fabricate and install the stone.  However, by the time cabinets were installed and we were ready for fabrication they were just getting ready to close for the holidays, so they told us it would take a month and Andrea suggested finding another fabricator which we promptly did.

Now for the disappointing part: I called Andrea's and asked about picking up the stone and was connected to one of their fabricators to answer a question about the stone (it was not Andrea I spoke with), the gentleman I spoke with was very rude and refused to talk to me or answer any questions because I wasn't willing to wait a month for installation.  I was disappointed by his lack of professionalism.

I will no longer refer business to this establishment and obviously discontinue my working relationship with them.  If I was Andrea, I would see to it carefully who answers the phone at my establishment.

Andrea recently installed our granite countertops and we couldn't be happier.  He was very informative and patient with us as he helped us through the tricky process of finding the perfect slab.  His price was very reasonable and his craftsmanship was fantastic. Highly recommend Andrea's!

My wife and I highly recommend Andrea's Marble & Stone Company.  We needed a remnant granite slab for a double bowl vanity top.  Andrea was super helpful on the phone and when we visited the shop.  He spent quite a bit of time with my wife and myself going through all of the available remnant pieces.  The piece we chose was absolutely fantastic.  The work was super professional and very quickly done in about 4 days.  These guys do a great  job and are superb and masterful craftsmen.  They have been around for over 30 years and are a family business.  Andrea's father Giovanni is a charming and sweet gentleman - an absolute pleasure to deal with.   We received a great deal and excellent customer service.  I would not hesitate to use them again and would 100% recommend them to a friend.  It was well worth the drive from Petaluma for us.

Old world craftsmanship at it's finest.  I can't recommend these guys enough....Andreas went far above and beyond in preparing, delivering and instructing us on exactly how to install our hearth.  His work is impeccable as is his father Giovanni's.  You would be hard pressed to find a better deal....very affordable and stellar work....Going to their shop is like stepping back in time to when things were the way they should be...honest quality craftsmanship.

My introduction to Andrea was through my contractor who told me the uneven granite counter at the new house just purchased could not be fixed.  Andrea to the rescue.  He came out and determined that it could be fixed and the price would be quite reasonable.  They did a fabulous job making the counters level.  So now, Phase 2.  Both Giovanni and Andrea came out to inspect for the new project of changing fixtures while trying to retain the existing granite.  They have spent a lot of time coming up with suggestions, drawing a template to make it easier to find the replacement fixture and providing the critical measurements.  In the process, Andrea discovered a plumbing leak and fixed it while providing input on the project at hand.  No question that once I find the fixture I need, I will have Andrea do the work.  They could not be more helpful, knowlegeable or professional!  Highly recommended!!

Update:  I finally found a sink that would work.  Giovanni came and they did a fabulous job in cutting the granite to fit the new sink.  They were extremely careful and did a wonderful job of containing all the dust.  I would definitely use them again!!

Two generations of artisans!  Terrific quality, a fair price and a wonderful family....Giovanni Frassica, the founder from Milan started the business. His son Andrea does most of the fabrication (and does a perfect job) and Giovanni's daughter, Anna runs the office.  They did a complicated renovation for us involving 3 bathrooms and a kitchen done in carrara marble.  I wish I had bought my stone from them instead of just using their fabrication service as they're more reasonable than the major stone suppliers in San Francisco.  My wife and I loved the work and the family made us feel like we were travelling in italy.  You won't find better!

Andreas Marble is a family owned business that takes pride in their work. I stopped by on a Saturday to see if they could help me with a very small project. They do large projects too. Andreas took a lot of time with me, shared great information and his prices were very, very reasonable! I highly recommend them!
