If you're one of the unfortunates who needs oral surgery, go see Dr. Quaroni.  I'd rather not expound on my unpropitious need for oral surgery, but I did want to say that Dr. Quaroni is a rarely high caliber as far as doctors go.  He's extremely intelligent, competent, knowledgeable (not just about his specialty), compassionate, precise, and I could go on and on...

    Yelp saves me again.

So I go to the dentist and I'm reminded once again that I need to have my wisdom teeth removed.  I take a look at the panorex x-ray and see for myself just how gnarly those things are.  My dentist recommends a couple oral surgeons and I assure him that next time he sees me, I won't have those things in my mouth anymore.  I call the two oral surgeons that my dentist recommends and apparently they suck at life.  They refused to file the paperwork with my insurance and generally seemed difficult to deal with.  This is what brought me to yelp.

I find that Dr. Quaroni is loved here on yelp for wisdom teeth removal and decide to book an appointment.  The staff here are unbelievably nice and were more than happy to file the paperwork with my insurance.  They even got me in to see Dr. Quaroni just a few days after I called!  At the very first consultation I found that everything mentioned here on yelp is completely true.  This Doctor knows his stuff, is extremely pleasant, and really seems to care about his patients.  He asked me who referred me to him and I told him about http://yelp.com.  He also mentioned that due to my screwed up teeth I was at a higher risk for possible numbness problems post-op.

I don't remember much of anything about the day of surgery except sleeping a lot when I got home afterward.  It turned out that I did have some crazy numbness for about a 1.5 months after surgery.  This concerned me a bit at first, but the good doctor and his staff explained to me clearly what was happening and made me feel quite at ease about the situation.  Everything cleared up as they predicted it would, but during that phase I received nothing but the best treatment from Dr. Quaroni and his staff.

I can't speak highly enough about this doctor and his staff.  He made my wisdom teeth removal process as painless as it could have been and was very supportive through my slight complication afterward that was due to my crazy mouth.  If I ever need some kind of oral or jaw surgery, I know the doctor I'm going to see.  Let's get this guy one of those "people love us on yelp" stickers for the front door.  He and his staff seriously rock.

It's been several months since I had my *impacted* wisdom teeth removed (at age 31, a bit late indeed) along with an additional tooth that had taken some collateral damage from being next to the impacted teeth for so long.

So first, let me point out that I am terrified of procedures that involve shots, blood, cutting of any type. So much so that I almost always pass out on the spot. My anxiety around this type of procedure is so great that I typically avoid them altogether (hence being about 16 years late in getting the wisdom teeth extracted :-0)

Right out of the gate at my initial consultation I explained my anxieties with Dr. Quaroni and he was compassionate, understanding, and professional. He not only doesn't make you feel bad, he explains how common these fears are, and more importantly, how normal. He explained carefully the form of sedation he was selecting for me and why. . . and let me assure you, come surgery time, I could not have been happier with his choice.

In ten seconds flat I was completely knocked out (and yes, the idea of being unconscious also caused me great anxiety leading up to the moment), and the next thing I knew I was conscious again with absolutely no memory of the procedure whatsoever. Sure, I was a bit groggy, but my wife was on-hand to drive me home.

Recovery was mildly unpleasant, but manageable. Dr. Quaroni followed up to make sure everything was okay, and performed a checkup a week or so later to check on the healing progress.

About two months later I paid another visit to his office, to report some tenderness in one of the areas he operated on. He quickly diagnosed a bone spur, which he was able to remove quickly and relatively painlessly at that moment, without scheduling another appointment or, best of all, even charging me for the office visit.

Dr. Quaroni is a physician who truly cares about your comfort, keeps you informed, and delivers on his promises. Although I hope never to have to require additional oral surgery, if I (or anyone else in my family) ever do need an oral surgeon again, I'll call him in a flash, this time at a bit more ease knowing I am in good hands.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I went to Jarrod Campbell, who referred me to Dr. Quaroni and staff.  He met me on a very bad day but was still incredibly kind at my nervous behavior.  I got a dry socket and my lip is still numb two months later, but in that sense I think I'm unique.

Followups are free, even if like me you manage to screw up your aftercare/have a numb lip. Dr. Voorhees has been my followup and even met me on the Sunday afternoon after surgery when my dry socket was unbearable.

The day of surgery, Dr. Quaroni put the IV in himself.  I was out in an instant and the rest of the day was thankfully uneventful.

If I could give them a hug without all the awkward, I sure would.

UPDATE:  I had yet another tooth extraction performed by Dr. Quaroni, and of course, everything went off without a hitch.  Dr. Quaroni had a UT dental student in the room and was amazingly good with her while teaching her how to blast someone with lidocaine or whatever other numbing agents were filling my jaw.  Again, highly recommended....I doubt there is a better choice anywhere.

I had my wisdom teeth (all 4) removed by Dr. Quaroni and staff on Friday, June 23rd.  After resting the remainder of that day and taking it very easy over the next two days, I was back at work on Monday, healing up nicely.

The reviews here for Dr. Quaroni and his assisting and office staff are spot on.  Everyone was very cordial, attentive and seem genuinely interested in the comfort and well being of their patients.  I woke up from anesthesia in my typical smart-alecky and comical way, telling jokes and generally being 'that guy'...hey, the general anesthesia does it to me...and the staff just laughed and helped me to my car.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Quaroni and his staff for any oral surgery needs.  I don't think it's possible to find a better oral surgeon.

If there was anyway possible to give this wonderful man one hundred stars, I would. I don't think anyone could ever have a more pleasant experience with an oral surgeon. Okay, maybe on a date, possibly, if he is as cute as Dr. Quaroni. This does not sound like a review for the extraction of wisdom teeth, but believe me, it is. This guy is FABULOUS!  I went in ten minutes after my significant other called saying that I was swollen and in pain. How many dental offices tell you, "Come now"? In 12 hours, the doctor with the golden touch has removed the impacted wisdom tooth, plus one, and I barely have any pain. By six that evening, I am eating and feeling back to normal. The good doctor knew I had a trip coming up and fixed me right up to take it. Here's the clincher: he calls at 10 pm to find out how I am feeling!!!!! I am sooooo impressed. I am ready to go back for round two and get the last two removed.
If any of you need oral surgery, this is the place to go. For the money, it's well worth the service, the attentiveness, and Dr. Quaroni's magic hands. He is a genius at what he does and I highly recommend him.
Update: All four wisdom teeth are gone now. I had the last two done in early November without any problems. Again, perfect extraction, no pain. By the way, Dr. Quaroni himself again inserted the IV into my arm, I didn't feel a thing, and no bruising! He is an utterly wonderful doctor and if I could, I'd do the extractions all over again!!!!!!

I have only one complaint about Dr. Quaroni: he's an oral surgeon and, gosh darnit, that means I don't get to go to him very often.  By far the coolest, most personable, and comforting doctor with whom I've ever had the pleasure of working, he took out all four of third molars this morning and---notwithstanding the fact that I'm currently wrapped in a hoodie that covers up the enormous ice-packs insulating either side of my no-longer-wisdom-toothed jaw---I'm absolutely thrilled with the experience.

A top five list of great traits:
      (1)  I called for an appointment on a Tuesday; went in the next morning (Wednesday); and was scheduled to have my teeth out on Thursday, all without any claim to emergency.
      (2)  During my conslutation visit, Dr. Quaroni spent just as much time getting to know me as he did talking about  my teeth; it put me at ease about a fairly nauseating-sounding extraction process.
      (3)  Instead of having me count down backwards from 10 as the anaesthesia set in this morning, Dr. Quaroni engaged me about---of all things---racial bias and juror selection.   Far more interesting than counting, that's for sure.  (Though it did confuse the nurses a bit when my first word, after waking up, was "Batson!")
      (4) Dr. Quaroni's entire staff is interesting, interested in their patients, kind and attentive.
      (5) Ask me again in a few days---but so far, despite having semi-gnarly, should-have-been-taken-out-years-ago teeth, I'm just as pleased as can be.  No pain*; no swelling;** no bruising.  Thus far, having one's wisdom teeth out seems just like a great excuse to take time off work and sleep a lot.  I'm for it.

    * Ed.  Okay, fine, a little bit of pain.
** Ed.  Okay, fine, a little bit of that too.  What do you expect, people?   Sheesh.

Is it odd to say you had a pleasant wisdom tooth removal? If you go to Dr Quaroni you will be surprised.  Not only was he was calming, nice and professional, but his staff was wonderful as well. He was attentive to my concerns after the procedure, even a week after, especially regarding residual pain and my prescriptions. I recommend this practice to everyone who needs oral surgery!

It has now been one week since I had my wisdom teeth extracted and I couldn't be happier.  The incisions are pretty much healed and my mouth is almost back to normal. Going to Dr. Quaroni is one of the smartest things I have done in a while!
