I know it has been years, but I still morn the demise of Worldwide Foods next to the old Ali Baba on Greenville Ave...but now I've found Andre and all is right with my world again.
Andre is an excellent international grocery, with a Persian focus. In fact, as soon as I opened the door the smell took me back to the Isfahan Bazaar circa 1977. They have a great selection of Iranian specialties like doogh (yogurt soda), and frozen entrees like kotlet and gormet sabzi. The owners are very, very nice and helpful.
I can't praise this place enough! -

Andre's is one of those stores that's well known among non-US born population.
Because people who come to US from other countries often find themselves craving certain foods and tastes they are used to, but unable to get here in Dallas.
They have some fresh produce, nuts in bulk, various pickled/marinated items, selection of teas, baked items and etc...
And Andre's also sells some china, some ethnic items, I got a pretty nice looking hookah from them for fairly good price! And still have a glass tea set I purchased there as well - I use it when I have guests over.
This is one of the places that sells evil-eye items for your home. It is hard to find evil-eye decor or jewelry around here so those who know what this is and what it's for I am sure will appreciate the info.
My personal advice would be to visit this or any similar store with a friend who knows what they sell and what its used for. Otherwise you'll most likely find yourself clueless about many items on their shelves :). -

How has no one ever reviewed this spot? Although it calls itself an international grocery, I'd say it's sort of a Mediterranean grocery. It has an olive bar, a nut bar, homemade pastries (including turkish delight!), herbal teas, Greek yogurt and cheese, frozen prepared dishes, an extensive selection of olive oils, dried figs and apricots, and spices.
Basically, it's super cool, and you are cool if you shop here. I was in total awe as I walked around and wished I knew how to cook with everything they offered. I just checked out their website and apparently you can order some of their stuff on the website. -

Specializes in import teas, many varieties from India and the east. They also have many different types of nuts, figs, and olives. Central Market probably carries a bit more, but something about being in a little out-of-the-way place seems to make it more authentic.
They also have a number of *very* inexpensive china serving sets in bone and porcelain. Like a set of 6 elegantly festooned demitasse cups and saucers for around $15.... I purchased a samovar here for $90, works *great*, making fantastic tea. -

Oh my goodness; I can't believe I didn't have this as my first review!
It's a great spot located in a shopping center. Passing by, you may not give a second thought to what is sold inside.
I love purchasing their teas, dried fruit (the white mulberries are great), they have an assortment of specialty meats, yogurts, olives (which taste divine).
As others here have mentioned, the china is at very good prices...the tea sets and other kitchen ware as sold here at fair prices and my goodness; they have a lot of other items...produce, books, music and much more!
This is a place you'd go to purchase nice, quality Persian Gourmet items (and other countries surrounding Persia); the quality is top-notch and the store is absolutely clean!!!
I would much rather spend my money in a little shop such as this than going to a huge store when I'm looking for something special; here, you can get help with the questions you have about the foods they sell. Going to larger stores, sometimes, they may not be as knowledgeable Andre Foods, they're talking from first hand experience.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, they see the Evil Eye in various forms...check them out! -

This place was decent enough, just a heads-up that the area isn't the greatest. INS was in there, large gun on hip, nosing about and asking questions.
If you are a regular Dallas resident, this is probably a great stop. But if you are travelling, I'd probably skip it. It's too small to be notable.
Their selection was good, and the store was clean etc. Just a bit too many bars on windows and doors. I wouldn't visit it at night, just sayin' -

Andre's is THE PLACE to go when it comes to shopping for Mediterranean food. They carry THE best canned dolmas (dolmades) called "Poli Kala" - which translates to "Very Good" in Greek. You can get a 10 lb can for under $12. That is THE ONLY brand to get as the others are lack luster in comparison.
I had a small party (20ish people) and put less than half of them out initially. By the end of the night, every dolma in the house was devoured and I was writing down the brand name! They are the bomb diggity!
Most of the ingredients for the spread that night came from Andre's. Their Bulgarian feta cheese is the creamiest, yummiest feta you'll ever eat - you'll never buy the "Athenos" brand of anything again! They also carry frozen pita bread that tastes like (when heated either in the oven or by skillet) it was freshly baked in a Mediterranean restaurant...fresh, soft, warm...oh my gosh! Deliciousness!
The have an array of canned, jarred, spices, bulk items (olives, spreads, dried fruits etc), fresh fruit, yogurt etc.
The Best news is their products are CHEAP and the business is not a conglomerate chain - no personal offense to you Whole Foods or Central Market shoppers.
If you want to get your ethnic fix on - shop here! Don't know any Mediterranean recipes? Buy a book or better yet, check out

Very friendly. Open until 11PM.
No lunch menu. But will cook something up for you , if you ask.
Really a grocery store.
Olive bar. Dried fruits. Teas. Beer. Wine. Authentic cookware.
Dried strawberry tastes great. Feta Cheese. Frozen lamb shanks.
Lots of canned and jarred foods.
