I used to come here when I was a kid and now it's the supplier of Christmas gift cards, birthday presents and gradutaiton gifts to all the teenager girls in my neighborhood.
There's something to be said about walking into a shop that looks like a tripped out hippy catalogue had thrown up all over the walls then tried to clean it up with the scent of patchouli oil (ie. utter chaos). I'll admit that the prices are, well...not cheap, but I'm a big fan of the unique and bizarre stuff to be found so I let it slide.
Tip* People with toddlers beware!! Lots of breakables and all right at eye-level for the little demons :) -

Imagine how the world would be different if Herman's Head actually took place inside the melon of a hippie Andover wicca priestess with an affinity for Justin Bieber. This Main St icon is that parallel universe.
Incense (no peppermints), teeny pop posters, clocks, art, wind chimes and whiskey stones line the flea market shelves, just aching to be bought for the sake of seeing a recipient's reaction. Like your weird aunt's attic, it's cluttered, claustrophobic and completely (compulsively) addictive for the snooping window shopper.
It makes no apologies and takes no prisoners. Peep the inventory as you would a niche museum, or if you're feeling especially adventurous, actually buy something! Either way, it's worth a look. -

This place is something you'd imagine seeing on the 6:00 news when the cops report to the cat lady's house due to a foul odor and find her dead amongst the calicoes. Filled to the brim with kooky gifts, knickknacks, and pattiwacks, you can always find something that your friend didn't want, but will still love. There is an abundant amount of crescent moon mirrors, hanging fire-hazard dorm room lamps, witty-slogan-stamped coin jars, and the occasional hippy poncho. If it sounds like I'm mocking this place, it's probably because I am.
But who am I to criticize when I'm frequently there finding a gift for that person I just cannot shop for. It may be filled with crazy merchandise, but it's been open for years because people are always able to find something to buy...so stop in and buy something you didn't think you needed. Because we both know you did. You just didn't know it yet. Oh, and watch your head on the chimes that dangle near the doorway--they're ruthless.Listed in: Suburbans and Soccer Balls

This is such a cute little store. We ventured in here during Andover Day and found although it's a small space is packed with everything from cookbooks, to cute knick knacks and souvenirs.
The staff is courteous and helpful.
The location is next to a Dunkin Donuts so the two become very crowded. Parking downtown is mostly metered but there are other areas if you don't mind walking a bit.
Downtown Andover is full of little shops like this mixed in with large retailers who also take smaller spaces. -

This has always been my "go to" spot for that unique/weird gift for people...they have everything from hippie clothes in the back to handmade pottery and weird post boxes and necklaces and everything in between.
My favorite thing from this store is my poison ring. Totally awesome and great for those random times you play murder mystery games :) -

If you're looking for a unique gift for someone you'll definitely find it here! They have anything and everything you could possibly imagine. TONS of jewelry, candles, incense, books, fountains, clothing, posters, lamps, ANYTHING.
They do free gift wrapping which is nice. They'll put whatever you bought in a pretty brown box with their logo on top and then they affix a ribbon of your color choice to it, very nice, and they do it fast too.
The only downside to this place is that it's TINY, and it's made even more so because of the loads of things in it for sale. The size of the shop makes it very hard to really look around at all of the stuff in there.
This is made especially worse when the place is busy with other shoppers. I suggest going during the week to avoid the crowds and to REALLY be able to look at everything they have to offer. The selection is immense. Stop by next time you're in downtown Andover, you won't be disappointed! -

Andovers Gift Shop is a good place to buy a unique gift (if you don't mind spending twice the price that you could pay for the same thing at another store).
They sell jewelry, posters, clothes, post cards, incense and incense burners, pottery, figurines, and a whole lot of neat junk.
And of course, they gift wrap. -
