My boyfriend and I went here for a late dinner recently. We were very, very pleased with the service. We constantly (yet not enough to bother us) had wait staff asking us if we needed something, if everything was okay, etc. At first we weren't even sure who our waiter/waitress was, since so many staff members seemed to be helping out! I found this to be a breath of fresh air from a few of the other places we went to in Santa Fe, where they didn't much care whether you were alive or not. Anyway, we were dining on a budget, so we shared an appetizer and an entree, and it was enough to get both of us full. The penne with smoked chicken was delicious! It's a very quaint, romantic little restaurant with great service and great food.

A quaint, little restaurant. Service was good. Food was okay. I didn't try any of the wine or dessert (yeah, I can't believe I passed on both).

It felt a little cramped and I'm not sure why.

Good place for something Italian that's a little different. (Now that I think about it...friends have described me the same way).

Great food - lousy service attitude.

Five of us had dinner here 2 nights ago & the food was excellent.  The linguini with clams, chicken parmigiana, pasta with shrimp, spaghetti with meatballs were all delicious.  Ambiance was great - if only our server really wanted to be there...

We had to ask for bread, after being served drinks.  When dinner was served, we had to ask for fresh parmesan - then when a small cup arrived the size of a fast food condiment cup, (possibly enough for one pasta dish) and we asked for more (politely) - we got a sigh, and a "Sure".  We definitely were asking for too much, in her opinion.  They were quickly deposited on the table.

The only pass we had from her during the entire dinner was a fleeting "run by" asking, "How are your dinners?"  No one had a chance to answer as she was already halfway to the kitchen.  We all looked at each other wondering what just happened.

She did arrive in a timely fashion with the check, which included a 20% gratuity (you've GOT to be kidding) and an additional line for "Additional Gratuity".  Must be a new policy for a party of five.  The service was worth 10% at best & we're usually very generous tippers, when the service is good.

We've eaten here before and always enjoyed the food.  This time the service was so bad I had to share.  Unfortunate as we like the food.

Nice intimate restaurant off the beaten path in Santa Fe, with a small and cozy atmosphere. We went on a busy night, but judging from the size of the place, and the long wait list every night is probably a busy night. The food was at times amazing, and at other times horrendous. A large contributor to the 2 stars was out waiter. He was well... a douche. He was flustered and out of sorts from the volume of business, and took a while to take our order. Which was fine, im easy going and that didn't bother me. When I asked wether I should try the risotto or the duck he unequivocally voted duck... "The risotto is just ok". What I think he meant to say was that the duck has more dollar signs so he would prefer I order that, and increase his tip.

The duck was horrible! The worst I've ever had. Who ever thought it was ok to be cooked and sent at out like that should have been fired. It was burnt to a crisp, I could tell just by looking at it that it was way over cooked. Then trying to eat it was like biting into hard dried leathery jerky with a ducky after taste. So I sent it back to the waiter, who then reassured me that how the duck is always prepared.... sure, wink wink. My sister... the smart one, gratefully ordered the risotto, which was out of this world good. The best risotto I have ever had. It was light, and velvety. Not overly heavy, and starchy like some can be. Saved my night!!! After we were done scarfing down the last morsels of sauce we watched out waiter eat his dinner, and relax with a libation from the corner of the restaurant while we waited for our bill for well over 20 min, till he was finished.

We were lucky that we arrived early.  After we were seated the bookings fell 20-30 minutes behind.  They have to overbook due to the area,

Our waiter was nonexistent. We spoke with  another couple that we met later and they said they were ignored by their waiter and they were sitting in a different area of the restaurant so they had a different waiter.

We ordered the polenta appetizer and an olive dish. The polenta came out on time, but the olive dish didn't arrive until 1 minute before the entre.  They said that station was back up that is why it took so long to get an olive dish, really?  20 minutes I think not. And we reminded them twice about the dish. Because it arrived when it did I sent it back and told them we would not be paying for it.

Of the four entrees we had all were warm.

Presentation was good but the temperature was not there.

I had the lasagna it was cool but I have to say flavorful.  Probably would have been excellent if it was served properly.

My wife had the penne with sausage.  It too was cool but flavorful

Our friends had the puttanesca and the chicken marsala.  I didn't try it but it looked good, but again served cool.

We received the check and saw that we were charged for the olive dish. I flagged the waiter over and told him about the issue.  He said, "I'll take it off, I don't care."  I replied, "yes you don't."

And that was the issue. The wait staff doesn't care, they overbook, the kitchen is out of control.

This restaurant gets good ratings but the service issue keeps coming up. It looks like it has lost its luster. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

This is one of my favorite Italian places in Santa Fe.  Since it's not located in the heart of the plaza, Andiamo tends to have mostly locals frequent the place.
I've eaten here upwards of 7 times and have never been disappointed.  From standards such as Linguini with Frutti di Mare to their daily specials, every meal has ranked from very good to excellent.  My Argentine cousin ordered the Spinach Ravioli the other night and the other two of us were quite jealous.  As good as our dishes were, the ravioli was outstanding.
Some nice glasses/bottles of wine were available at prices that weren't the usual outrageous Santa Fe prices.
If you don't order wine or an app and share a dessert, you can easily leave satisfied at a reasonable price per person (around $30).  Indulge yourself and, of course, it will get pricey, but not at the crazy levels of the more well known restaurants by the plaza or up Canyon Rd.

Comment about the service ... it is a bit hit or miss.  This usually depends on how busy the place is.  Not busy, very good service.  Busy, like the other night, good and friendly.  Super busy, they tend to get in the weeds and a bit flustered.  Eat early on weekends or try mid-week.

Absolutely outstanding!  We've lived in Santa Fe for about 4 months now and have been trying everything. I've been to over twenty restaurants so far, and I must say this ranks for a top spot! Neighborhood-ish, trendy, but not ostentatious, seriously great prices and fantastic food, obviously prepared by a cook that knows his (or her) stuff!

I booked a reservation through Open Table for 7:15 on a Friday night. We were seated right away, and found the staff friendly and helpful. It was very busy, but it didn't feel like it there.  Along with a bottle of Nuit St Georges, which I was so glad they had, both of us had the prosciutto endive appetizer, which was wonderful. Prepared just right.

I had the penne with lamb sausage for the main, which I thought was fantastic, as was the ambiance. We sat outside and the sunset of Santa Fe mixed with the meal just right. We shared the profiteroles to wrap it up, which were made fresh, and I had to take just a bit of the penne home, as the portions were fairly good sized.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough and congratulate the owners on a class act!

The best thing about this place was the Roasted Beet Salad.  The worst was the crowding and noise level.  It's an old house converted into a restaurant, and each room is packed with as many tables feasible.  The patrons were not loud, simply too close in proximity.  The waitress comped our dessert because they had to ask us to move to another part of the restaurant due to seating difficulties.  Would I try it again?  Maybe.

The restaurant is much smaller than one would imagine a restaurant could be, but it's intimate setting I find is part of it's character. The food is always good and while the wait staff can sometimes be a bit snooty santa fe, the others are quite nice. I used to go to Andiamo alone with my book and drink some wine and enjoy a nice quality meal. There are a few tables for seasonal outdoor seating which is also nice especially if you prefer to not be too crowded.

It's downtown, but it a quiet little neighborhood away from the plaza. While there will likely be a few opera goers in the summer months, I find mostly locals frequent Andiamo.

    Great intimate atmosphere! Wonderful service!

Wonderful wine selection with multiple choices under $40. The polenta and gorgonzola appetizer was delicious - the polenta was cooked perfectly (nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not greasy at all) and the cheese sauce was creamy and smooth.

We both ordered dinner specials - my fiance got the beef tenderloin medium rare and it was cooked perfectly (he didn't even need a steak knife!), the mashed potatoes were too die for, not too garlicy - just perfect. His assorted vegetables were bright and vibrant and included the best asparagus I've ever tried.

I got the mushroom and ricotta ravioli with spinach cream sauce - unbelievably delicious. Ravioli was homemade - the pasta dough was cooked perfectly and the stuffing was flavorful with the ideal texture. The sauce was velvety and delicious - I basically licked the bowl clean.

We had a wonderful experience and will definitely go back! This was a great "fancy" dinner, but didn't break our pocketbook. Excellent!

The food here is okay. Seems like they the same spice in all the food. Everything tasted like smoked ham. Very strong smoked ham flavor in four different dishes, chicken, pasta, beef dishes.

The food was okay and tasted interesting but  that smokey taste was too much. The ambiance: claustrophobic. Tables are like 18" apart and the place is packed and crowded, you are literally rubbing elbows with diners at the adjacent table.

Also dinner took forever to come out. The place was packed so I give them a break but with all the entrees having  the same Andiamo signature flavor, I was disappointed.

Overall it was okay but I won't be coming back.

Great italian food here, and the patio dining is amazing (unless it's friday or saturday night so it's the cruise line, in which case you'll be listening to loud rap and yelling teenagers throughout dinner).

A bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it. Inside is cramped and could benefit from some more space, but probably more authentic italian food than Julians. Better than Osteria too.

Really good food. Waiter was funny and entertaining. Lasagna was not traditional with a lot of red sauce lighter very wonderful texture. Duck leg was crisp refined taste not overwhelming. Didn't like the polenta that was served with it but spinach was great. The only negative is the rugs.  They were dirty and a turn off. We arrived in the light so they were more noticable. Please clean them more frequently or better yet remove them all together-I don't really like rugs in restaurants.

    Seriously, why waste your time?

We never had an opportunity to even experience the food because when we showed up without a reservation at like 5:30PM with half of the house empty we were told we couldn't be served until 7:45PM. I understand if we were showing up at a prime time turning us away but there was practically no one there. I confirmed that they don't take reservations for the whole restaurant but apparently that means that they don't seat you in the reserved section - even if the non-reservation people have almost finished their meal.

In short, awful, awful, service for such a small fish in a small city pond.

Fellow Yelpers we intelligently made reservations, however we were still seated at a tiny table smack dab against a wall behind the hostess station. The table next to us was a foot away. I lost count of how many times the food expediter or server knocked against me while helping the table next to us. They only apologized once. At one point a man at the next table returned from the restroom and rubbed his backside fully against my face to get back to his seat . We couldn't wait to get back to our hotel. On another negative note our ice tea was only refilled once and at my request. One that I actually had to flag our server down to make.  The service was unbelievably inattentive.
The food was pretty good, with an exception. We started with the saffron risotto fritter  salad. It was excellent. I had the fettuccine with asparagus and Chris had the penne with lamb ragu. They were both good. I asked our server if we could get two sides of the risotto cakes. He explained that they would be baked unlike the salad. I was okay with that. I said as long as they were still crisp. The two that were served were soft and had a strong taste of freezer burn, they were inedible. At that point we wanted to leave, but it took a further fifteen minutes to get our check and pay. It was the only bad meal that we had in Santa Fe and by far the worst service we have encountered here.
Update: I emailed the restaurant this review and they replied over a month later. I wasn't surprised.

Great experience! Bread, food, service, ambiance, wine, all perfecto! We chose the Leese Fitch Merlot to drink, and if it means anything, we've since ordered a case of this yummy, inexpensive vino. We shared the polenta appetizer, yum! I chose the seafood pasta, which I believe was a special that evening, very good. We had multiple servers checking on us throughout the evening and they were charming and attentive from start to finish.

A fun restaurant with good food and great ambiance. I ordered a simple pizza, but the quality of ingredients made it shine. No brilliant combinations or techniques, just great ingredients prepared well.

Il Piatto has even better food, but I think Andiamo has a trendy ambiance that is delicious in its own right. I will definitely go here again.

We made reservations to this restaurant on  whim, after reviewing what our fellow yelpers had to say.  We were pleasantly surprised with the food. We ordered the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and arugula, and that was very delicious...done to perfection. We ordered, the crispy duck, and the sauce accompanying it was lighter than gravy; however, the grilled polenta was left something to be desired. Overall the dishes served at Andiamo was light and delicious.  The atmosphere here is romantically lit with candles; however, over crowded with a decidedly older slant.

I was neither impressed nor completely dismayed. We opted for no appetizer, so I can't review that. The bread was ok, not great. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (I NEVER order that, but was looking for comfort food) and it was NOT good. I swear, it tasted exactly like Spaghettios, it was like a flashback to my childhood, which, while I enjoyed Spaghettios as a child, I did not expect to get them from such a highly rated restaurant. My husband had the linguini with clams, they were ok, nothing special, not bad. I was, however, unpleasantly surprised by the dessert. I ordered the chocolate pots de creme, but it was not pots de creme. Pots de creme are served in little pots or ramekins, this was served out on a plate, and much more like a flan than the lightness of a perfect pots de creme, which should be more like a light custard, not as gelatin-y as a flan. I love Italian food and would not recommend this place, at all.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe because it is consistently REALLY GOOD. We wanted to try some new restaurants during Santa Fe Restaurant week but on the last night of the special promotions throughout the city, we just HAD to go to our old favorite. We were able to get in at 8:30 and were completely delighted. The variety on the Prixe Fix was more than most of the other restaurants - it was hard to decide which of the 5 or 6 featured entrees! We started the antipasto & a beautiful style ceasar - so clean & fresh. We filled ourselves with Clams Manilla w/spaghetti and the Penne with Lamb sausage. Bother entrees were excellent. The wine was nice and was at the regular price. We could barely finish with our pot de creme and another desert with pastries & ice cream. The value was amazing and the service ws impeccable. Though we had a "main" waiter, everyone in the place took care of us. We'll always go back. Andiamo is a sure bet - even on such a busy night as the last night of Santa Fe Restaurant week, We loved It!!!

I've been to Andiamo probably 8 times while I was living in Santa Fe.  The food was never "bad" but it was certainly poorly presented and generally inconsistent.  Even if I ordered the same meal everytime, i would get something different.  The prices were reasonable for an Italian restaurant however the portions were TINY, and the quality of food did not make up for this.  All this aside, my problem was with the service.

TWO TIMES that I was there, there was confusion with the checks, once we were charged for our table-neighbors meal, which was $50 more than ours.  The second time, we were charged for TWO MEALS!  It took several phone calls for them to understand what I was even talking about- to say that their waitstaff was hired as an act of community service would be a compliment. Finally, they put me in contact with the manager, who was very kind and apologetic.  He acted very quickly to remove the additional charge from my card (he even double checked to make sure he was removing the right charge, but in my opinion they both should have been removed..).  He even offered to send a gift card as an apology which I thought was very nice, even though I never wanted to go back there.  However, we never received any such gift card!  The service was terrible, the waiters were forgetful, sloppy, and apathetic, and while the management was very nice to me even though he never compensated me for my efforts as he said he would, I would never EVER go back there.

ALSO!  TWO TIMES while I was just picking up food to go, several cars were broken into on the street right outside the restaurant.

If you are looking for good Italian restaurant to go to in the railyard, try Pranzo Italian Grill.  They are fantastic, and even offer half price wine bottles on Sunday!  (Better quality food, portions, and cheaper prices)
