Great, friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant.  The food and atmosphere here are a cut above most of the other Italian restaurants in this part of New Jersey.  We had the pork chop saltimbocca.  It was pounded extremely thin - and covered an entire plate. Extremely tender and tasty.  The Bruschetta was also good, as were the Portebella fries. In addition to an extensive wine list, they have some interesting regional beers on tap.

Best pizza around the area. It's a bit more pricey than any pizzeria but the extra $5 a pie is totally worth it.  It's a good choice for a sit down dinner as well.  Great and creative specials and a very well chosen wine list.  The liqueur license is one the draw backs though...to many great byob's around make this an expensive choice compared to others in the area.  Try the Panino for two, baked clams, shrimp oregenata or any pasta dish

This restaurant has been rated to be one of the "Best of Bergen" voted in by the locals.  Given, the location and (lack of) other options around the area, Andiamo may actually deserve to be on the "best of bergen" list of restaurants in the future.  However, my experience was not the best.

Our dinner started off with a friendly but slow server, who didn't even include a wine list when seating us. The owner came by and greeted us, which was a nice small town touch. Upon my request, the owner returned with the wine list and assured us that all of the wines have been personally sampled and selected by him. We were also missing a bread plate that was never brought out.

After pursuing through our dinner options and deciding on seafood entrees, we selected a 2009 New Zealand sauvignon blanc (label Mohua - its actually quality seemed like a $10-15 bottle, though the restaurant price was in the $30s.)  However, the fresh and intense grape flavor and round body with a crisp finish was very satisfactory.

We skipped ordering appetizers, opting for dessert later.

Entrees:  of the 3, the lobster ravioli was the best.  Six pillowy ravioli-s, striped with squid ink and filled with claw and leg meat.  On occasion, the filling tasted slightly chewy and not fresh, but for the most part, they were delicious. The enveloping, rich cream sauce with sweet sun-dried tomato bits made each morsel of the ravioli decadent.

Andiamo cioppino was so disappointing, especially when compared to that which was executed flawlessly by the Atlantic Fish Company in Boston.  The lackluster and flat canned stewed tomato taste was an off note, with overcooked lobster tail, mussels and clams.

Rigatoni in a lemony chardonnay sauce with green onions, tomatoes, and New Zealand mussels and clams were decent, but the light sauce did not hold up well with the hefty rigatoni, and instead resulted in a slightly over-cooked, chewy texture towards the end of the meal.

    Desserts:
    - Standard sweet ricotta filled cannoli
    - White chocolate "mousse" in a dark chocolate coated pastry shell.   The mousse had an almost custard-like texture, so those who are looking for the light and airy mousse should look elsewhere.

Overall, the ambiance is quaint, warm, and casual-romantic.  The server is friendly, though slow and can get loud when the staff becomes overly chatty with the regulars.  The presentation of the food were good to excellent.  Wine prices seem slightly higher than at other places.  With some improvements, this restaurant just may become a best within Bergen County.

I'm really sad to see the poor reviews for this place, but it seems more towards service than the food.

Regarding service, up until my last trip there, the service for me has always been great.  The owner always greets me at the door and gives me exceptional service.  Always has a smile on his face, asks me how I've been, welcomes me and thanks me for my patronage.   Regarding my last waiter, for some reason he never mentioned any of the main course/dessert specials and never offered any freshly ground black pepper or cheese.

I just love the food here.  The dishes aren't very heavily sauced, so if you're looking for that type of stick to your ribs comfort pasta, I'd def recommend the carbonata w/heavy cream, onions and bacon - delicious.  The mix and match pasta is also always good.  The marinara sauce tastes like fresh juicy tomatoes bursting in your mouth.  The meatballs are huge and extremely tender.  The sausage can vary once in awhile, but when its on point, its rustic and extremely flavorful.  You really can't go wrong w/any of the dishes here..

The one dish though that absolutely shines, the one dish I've never had so good anywhere else, is a simple appetizer.  All their appetizers are very delicious, but every time I come, I must, at all costs, have this dish - the roasted red peppers, mozzarella and prosciutto in a pesto drizzle.  Such a simple dish right? But omigawd.. done so so, well... on a whole other level compared to anywhere else I've had it.  Every element is melt-in-your-mouth soft.  the mozz cheese is milky, soft.  The roasted red peppers are delicate, sweet, and it perfumes the mozz cheese, yes, perfumes it.  The depth of flavor from those peppers is remarkable, I have no idea how they do it.  The prosciutto is unbelievably silky soft.  Put it all together and you have a symphony of flavors, each hold their own weight.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate.  It's like a small house warmed by white lights and brick walls.  You'll never find this place w/o someone telling you about it.  It's literally in the middle of residential houses, only found by the brightly lit trees in front.  You have to make a right turn onto this little street that you 'll easily miss.  90% of the cars in the lot have NYC license plates.. they travel that far for the food here...

I brought my boyfriend here for an anniversary dinner once, we've been coming nonstop since.

Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like a large family gathering and a gratuitous amount of delicious Italian food.  We had a party of about 20 people and everyone loved their meal.

Appetizers were your standard Italian fare, with the bruschetta being my favorite.  My meal was a pasta special which featured ziti, hot peppers, and sausage; I loved my meal.  Everyone at our table loved their meal too.  My only regret is that I was too full to finish the tartufo.

I've seen other reviewers upset about the service but I guess they hired new people; the service here was excellent.  The valet parking was quick too.

Make sure you make reservations if you're going at peak dinner times, this place was PACKED!

This place is about a mile from my house, I always drive by and see the place all lit up with white lights (all year) and finally stopped in the other night.  I was really happy I did, I really enjoyed this place.   So far I have had the calamari, the mussels, lobster ravioli, 1 of the thin crust pizzas, and a taste of a few other dishes.  The best thing I can say is that the food is just very very good!  I have loved everything I've tried.

Also everything about this place is very comfortable and inviting..  The lights outside, the valet parking, the ambiance, etc.  When we were there the owner was dining at a table right next to our with another group..  He was nice enough to lean over to see how everything was and chat with us for a moment and was very nice.

One of my girlfriends friends had a bachelorette dinner here and I made an excuse to stop by and say hi to the girls just so I could come by again and grab something to eat real quick!

Great place for dinner, we will definitely be stopping back for more!

Andiamo is a local mainstay.  You will see the same faces on weekends.    It is my go to for mini celebrations.  I have had every non-seafood pasta in the place and have never been disappointed.

When you are there you feel like family.  One night my eyes widened at the site of their fried zucchini, and miraculously one appeared in front of me.  I will never sit there again and not order some.  It is amazingly light and airy.  It would make any kid eat their vegetables.

This is not a pizzeria. This  a really nice neighhborhood Italian restaurant nestled in suburbia. This is also the restaurant that introduced me to infused vodka.  Pineapple infused to be exact. A fantastic concoction that can be drunk neat or mixed with a variety of different spirits and juices.

Andiamo has good pasta dishes and Don the host, who also happens to be the owner's dad is a great host with excellent people skills. It's genuine and that you cannot fake.

Try the Pasta Allen with mini meatballs, Portobello mushrooms, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, arugula, red onions and fresh mozzarella in garlic and oil.

My personal favorite is Lobster Ravioli with Chardonnay wine sun-dried tomato cream. Yummy.

If you insist on Pizza they do make thin crust pizzas.

All in all not fine dining, but good solid food. A good time will be had by all.

Poor service overshadows the good food.
This restaurant is not family-friendly. I brought my young daughter two times and we were shoved into a separate cramped area that seems to be reserved for young families. She is overall pretty well-behaved at restaurants, too. The second time we brought her, the waiter placed a big sheet of paper (I guess to catch spills) on the floor under her high chair. She got up halfway through the long dinner because she got bored and kept tripping on the sheet even though she didn't stray from her her high-chair area.  The waiter himself tripped on the sheet multiple times so I asked him to remove it when he was clearing our entrees.
The owner seems a little full of himself--I guess because the business thrives despite the poor treatment of families.

I went to Andiamo for the first time this past December.  It was very cozy and had a nice menu.  The specials were great.  I am dreaming of the ricotta, prosciutto and caramelized onion agnoletti.  It was part of a special and I would have loved a whole plate of it.  It was fantastic!

We went with a group and had appetizers and wine and most of us had specials and it was between $35-40 pp.  We didn't have dessert but still seems like a good price to me.  Yelp's $$$ is $31-60 pp.

The only downside is that the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

This is one of my favorite restaurants.  I've never been disappointed in anything I've had there.  I often have them make up a special pasta dish with only ingredients I like.  The specials are always good and more than enough food.  There is also a red wine special for about $9 a glass that is always good and often outstanding.  More than once I have gone from there to a wine store to order a case.
We are treated well whether we are 5 people ordering the works or 2 just having pizza.

A good place to go for a nice Italian meal. During the summer, eat indoors, or there are a few tables on the deck outside.  We sat inside by the windows and ordered brucetta as an appetizer, glasses pino gricio, penne vodka and chicken francese.  Specials written on big black boards on the walls.  Service was good, as was the food. We'd go back again.  Looks like it would be a warm cozy place to go in the winter.

my parents and i had my mom and i's bday dinners here and it was fantastic! i've also been here for new year's eve a few years ago. superb italian food!!! I also had a salad which had fig in it that was the best salad ever. Even without a reservation, I've not had to wait long here. i have not been here too many times though. It's a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, def worth it, you'll have a great dinner. The front part of the restaurant  on the porch is lovely and a bit more cozy, I found the back to be more suited for families incl kids. It's not a jacket required place, but slightly above casual i'd say.
