Review from Ana A.
San Francisco, CA
I moved into a cute art deco apartment on Sunset Blvd when I got a terrible craving for pizza. Sure I tried to be healthy and ate some veggies and hummus, but when that craving hits I have to have my pizza. Being new to the area I researched the subject online but so many pizza places popped up and I didn't know which to choose. Finally, my friend Mo decided that Andiamo was close and was therefore the most suitable for the situation, as it was 10pm and we were hungry.
So my friends and I walked down the street and entered one of the most curiously decorated pizza places ever. One side has flowery wallpaper with orange pads on the walls and directly across from that wall is a bright, deep blue wall. The seats are eclectic; Mo got to sit in the thrown and I was jealous. There were candles on the table and candelabras on the walls, unlit, but still aesthetically pleasing. And there was a curious little girl of about ten dancing around and doing cart wheels. She came by and lit the candles on the tables. It was very cute. I'm assuming she was the owner's daughter.
Service was speedy and friendly.
Now Mo, being a pizza snob from Chicago, even agrees with me that this was some good pizza! We had a pie that was covered in meat and it delish! Perfect crust. Just perfect. Usually it's too hard and hurts my mouth. I'm even more disappointed when the crust is soggy and sags. Ick! But this crust was firm and perky like a high school girl on the verge of womanhood.Listed in: The 'hood!

I love olives. Olive the oil, olive the wall color, Olive the name....all winners. And so naturally I also love olives on my pizza. And when I called up Andiamo and asked for a pizza with olives and pepperoni, I was pretty excited, you guys. Um, YES, I get excited when I order pizza. I like pizza. So what? Deal with it. God. Why do you have to be like this?!
ANYWAYS....the pizza finally arrived. Pepperoni? Yes. Olives? Well....yes. Technically.
Kalamata olives.
Really? I mean, as I said, I enjoy olives more than your average person, and kalamata olives are not excluded from the warm embrace of my olive-love. HOWEVER....on a pizza? With pepperoni? Hmmm. To be fair, they may not have been kalamata olives, precisely. There are about 45 olive variations. These tasted and looked like kalamata olives (purpleish, sour) but I can't verify their exact type. I CAN say, however, that they were neither green olives, nor black olives, either of which I would have been happy to see.
Intriguing? Yes.
Delicious? Not so much.
Kind of gross? Absolutely.
It's not so much that I would like to discourage experimentation, but I definitely could have used a heads up on the phone when I ordered. "Hey, just so you know, when you say "olives", a standard pizza topping, we are going to replace the standard with the bizarre. Let's hope it works! You are our guinea pig! Be there in 45 minutes!"
Unfortunately the crust couldn't redeem the topping failure (it was lackluster at best) and the pizza itself was on the pricier side. And thus, unfortunately, Andiamo will not be going into the delivery rotation.Listed in: Los Angeles Pizza: A Primer

Another stop on the quest for great pizza! Yes, folks, my pants are tight just for you...
The thing to come here for is the warm family vibe. It's another joint in an east side Sunset mini-mall but inside, the decor is kitschy and homey in a very mismatched, thrift shop kinda way that suits the neighborhood well. Andiamo's a family run biz and some classroom art had made it to the checkout counter along with their young son hangin' out on his laptop while mom took care of us and dad was slingin' dough. In short, it's the kind of place you want to root for and see do well.
While I'm not the biggest fan of a thick crust, I'll say their deep dish pie was a stand out for me. It was crispy on the outside, warm and chewy in the middle and soaked with just the right amount of tomatoey sauce mingling with white cheese and sliced rounds of tasty pepperoni.
While this isn't quite a pie I'd necessarily drive across town for, I'd definitely come back to try the rest of the menu and if I were a local, there's no doubt I'd be a regular, if only to take advantage of delivery.Listed in: Los Angeles Restaurants, Pizza Poll, Los Feliz & Silverlake

Stop #3 on the great East Side Pizza Crawl...and I reallllly wanted to like this place but well, it just left me with an "ok" feeling.
The decor is fun, kitchy, homey, welcoming, colorful, and family oriented...there's even one large table so if you come with a group or have a ton of kids, it rocks!
The owners are a couple with a small tot and they are VERY cool. Just for that I'd give them 5 stars alone. The lady of the house brought us out a TON of pies...and by a ton, I mean like 7 or so and there were about 13 of us...AND, this was our third joint of the day. So with that said, I was overwhelmed by choices and already full. I'm going to give the pizza a mere 3 stars...the crust was doughy and every pizza I felt needed a ton of salt or spice...all was kind of bland. BUT, I would wager that if this was my first pie of the day or I was starving and it was brought to me...I'd eat it for certain. It wasn't bad...just not spectacular in my book. So 5 for service, 3 for food...average of 4 stars. :)
We ordered a bunch of the individual pizzas which averaged around $10 a pie and at 8" they had about 6 slices. Of the pies we sampled:
Formaggio Con Funghi: a light cheesy pizza topped with chopped spinach and roasted 'shrooms. Probably one pf my faves but again...it needed salt, garlic, or perhaps even some truffle oil to liven it up.
Signore Roberto: topped with sausage, ham, prosciutto, salami, green olives, and herbs. A meat lovers dream I'd imagine. I couldn't get past the overwhelming taste of the green olives...so if you like green olives...you'll like this pie!
The daily special: basically a white pizza with meatballs. Would've been better if the meatballs had more flavor. Other than that it didn't blow my skirt up or light up my taste buds.
Margherita (Thick Crust!)...this was the best of the bunch that I personally sampled...had more flavor than the rest which I give a thumbs up for! Also, it was served up Sicilian style (square). Good stuff.
Will I be going back? Eh, maybe. Will I recommend it? Yes, yes I would...if you're in the mood for a run-o-the-mill slice to stamp out hunger and your feel like supporting a good, family, small business...you should go check it out!Listed in: Pizza Pie...now that's Amore!

Very retro-cool, I love the vintage chairs and mismatched plates the establishment uses. I felt instantly at home. The couple that run Andiamo are very warm and friendly, and promote a great family-fun place to enjoy delectable pizza! This was stop number three on the Scandalous Eastside Pizza Crawl. Here's what I tried:
The Grecco - Spinach, Onions and Chicken dominate this delicious pie with a garlic style sauce as the base. I got it with the Kalamata Olives - those disgusting things will not enter my mouth! Will definitely order it again. It was even better the following day when I had the leftovers!
Daily Special - this specific day, it was a meatball pizza with white sauce. Very interesting. I do wish the meatball had more of a jalapeno kick.
Signore Roberto - a meat-lover's supreme pizza. Quite good.
Adiamo Pizza - a thick crust alternative to the thin varieties we were eating. Pretty good, I would get it with pepperoni next time, and maybe double cheese.
The personal pizza's have about six to eight slices. There is a small parking lot, or one can meter it on Sunset. Like Shauna D. mentioned, I'd love to come back and try some of their appetizers. Also, they serve Mexican Coke, for those Soda Aficionados out there who want to drink this beverage and consume cheesy goodness at the same time. A good place overall. -

Stop #3 of the Great Eastside Pizza Crawl
Our plan totally went out the window with this place. Sarah E and I were trying to keep to two slices between us. But with some late additions to our party, we kept ordering pie after pie.
Formaggio Con Funghi- ricotta, fresh mozzarella, feta, parmeasan, roasted mushrooms and sauteed spinach. This was a beautiful pizza and my favorite. The spinach was actually not sauteed looking to me and laid out neatly over the whole pie with thick-sliced mushrooms on top. I detected the faintest truffle oil taste though it's not listed and others did not taste it. Perhaps I was just in love with all the cheeses?
Signore Roberto- tomato sauce, mozzarella, sweet Italian sausage, capicola ham, proscuitto, Genoa salami, green olives and herbs. I really enjoyed this pizza but if it didn't have all those cured meats, I'm not sure the pizza itself would have much flavor.
Daily special pizza- last Saturday, the daily special was a white pie with meatballs. I didn't eat the pizza itself but had a nibble of a wayward chunk of meatball. Hm, it needed a bit of salt. Jeff S said he enjoyed the cheese on the pizza though.
Grecco- roasted garlic sauce, lemon chicken, onions, spinach, kalamata olives, feta and oregano. I didn't try this but I heard it was good and even better the next day.
Clam Oreganta- baby clams, roasted garlic sauce, breadcrumbs and oregano. Well, I think it needed salt. It sounded really promising and smelled amazing. I didn't get any clam flavor from it at all.
Margherita- fresh tomato, fresh moz, parm and basil. I didn't try this but others said it was fine.
Andiamo brought out their Andiamo pizza for us to try on the house. It is a traditional Sicilian thick crust pizza. I have to say it was good though I'm not really into thick crust pizzas.
I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere. A super nice couple runs the joint and their cute little girl was adorable her silver boots. They easily accommodated our group which swelled to about 16 people by adding additional tables.
I'd like to come back to try their interesting looking appetizers (paisano wings and spedini- meatballs) and they have a load of different salads as well as egg dishes including things I'd eat for breakfast like the Tuscan pizza (eggs, ricotta, spnach, parm, basil and truffle oil) or the Calabrese pizza (eggs, sausage, peppers, onions and arabbiata sauce). They also serve pasta, paninis and dessert.
Andiamo has a large orange sign on top of the strip mall. There's some parking in the lot or there's parking on Sunset.

I love the whole organic/cage free/BYOB concept.
Everything I got there was delicious - we ordered in that night for a cozy pajama dinner.
Eggplant parm is so good - you can even slather it on your pizza for extra fun.
The Greek chicken salad is a perfect Californian take on classic Greek salad. I appreciate the organic chicken and all the de-pitted kalamata olives.
The shroom pizza is bootylicious.
The roasted vegetable is simple and wholesome.
Drink with some Rhombauer followed by massages and you are set for a romantic Italian dinner in Los Feliz!Listed in: Pizza My Heart

What could be better on a lazy Sunday morning than a perfect slice (or two) of pizza? I am the type of girl who says...not much else. You can then imagine my absolute delight upon sitting down at Andiamo's in Silver Lake.
Three of my friends and I decided, after a quick glance at the menu, to split a large "Formaggio Con Funghi". After we ordered we then took more time to peruse the extensive menu and noticed something even more super:
The restaurant is a "green" restaurant, committed to eco-friendly practices. Which makes me happy.
What makes me happier is the gorgeous pie that was placed next to me, not too much later. The pizza was covered in perfectly sliced mushrooms and thinly sliced spinach with a delicate seasoning of garlic and basil. The crust crunched as you bit in and they were large enough to fold "a la New York style". My boyfriend asked for a cup of their red sauce to dip in and this was a treat. Their red sauce was light, sweet and had whole basil leaves stewing with garlic slices. I ate the last of it with a spoon.
OH! To top it off they have a pastry baked there daily called a Sfogliatelle. It's pronounced something like "Sh-foy-ah-dell". It's a light flaky pastry filled with lemon ricotta. It is my favorite favorite favorite sweet treat and if you are not in the mood for a mass of pizza deliciousness, I highly recommend grabbing one with an espresso for a perfect Italian moment.
We walked out deciding what we will get next time we go back... will it be breakfast? or another pizza? pasta? salad? Well, you get the picture. -

Pizza gone green? I like mine red and if it's going to stray from a traditional slice of what you've learned to love about pizza, it better be darn good.
The decor is cute- bright colors and er, colorful artwork on the walls. The chairs aren't so comfy and I found myself thinking that the restaurant suffered from a split personality: "am I a diner or a restaurant?"
I wanted to like the pizza and I appreciated the moderate prices. I ate it because I was famished and the mushrooms were so wrong and too big for your mouth, I ended up with a plate full of discarded 'rooms. The crust was pretty crisp but the rest tasted like cardboard. Ick.
I could see others really enjoying Andiamo's but you should know before going that it is "healthy" Italian, and to me, that's a contradiction in terms. -

Aw man, for all my loyal readers...uh I mean friends, I know you're out there wondering why oh why is Aaron giving Andiamo 5 stars when he pledges absolute allegiance to Garage Pizza? WHY? Damn him, that two timing shifty eyed clown lover!
I do love Garage, it's great, tasty, thin crispy, good sauce, cool everything - owner, decor, vibe. I love Garage.
But I went to Andiamo again this weekend (after first passing Andiamo to go to Garage which was closed at noon on a Saturday so I went back to Andiamo as I do like their pizza as well) and ordered the Gaetano. Let me repeat that slowly, take notes people: I...........ORDERED..........A...........PIZZA.... ..........CALLED..............THE...........GAETAN O.
It is simply amazing, best pizza I've ever had and will ever have in my whole entire life. It is Mozzarella covered in a slow roasted onion and tomato sauce. That's it, but not even the beginning. Ask for crispy on the crust so it holds up to the weight of the sauce, plus crispy crust just adds more texture period.
The sauce according to the owner, (Billy he is extremely cool, he had his kids write their names on his arm, then had their writings in turn tattooed on the exact spot where they wrote it, and as it turns out lives in a place I used to live in when I was a kid) is an old Italian recipe his partners mother had from back in the old country and is slow roasted for 8 hours.
This sauce is so good, it taste like fresh home grown tomatoes and the marriage with the onions is timeless, it's so good I can't explain it, fresh, eye-closing, saliva inducing freshness. I must plagiarize my friend John M., there is a higher culinary spirit with this pizza, you just have to get it.
And it carries over to the other pizzas I've had there as well, the Signore Roberto, Bella Donna, Peperoni, Margharita are all great. This place believes in fresh, taste loaded ingredients. Get there and GET SOME!!!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Stopped in to check out the new pie in town. Well appointed lil' joint in a not so noticeable mini center above silverlake blvd. I enjoy the menu; all bottled drinks have natural sugar, not corn syrup, such as mexican coke and san pellegrino chinotto and limonata. Frittatas for breakfast, lovely, but I was only in for pizza. Got the formaggi con funghi... good crisp to the crust, taste was good. Mushrooms a bit too chunky. Didn't floor me (actually, in one way it did - dough bomb on a hot day made me sleepy). Will be back for another try. Have to put Masa's "margarita" pizza head to head with theirs.
Much love to opening a new place on the funky side of town. The staff was working well together, getting the place off the ground. I was treated to a little rush of entertainment when one of the owners stormed through screaming at the chef. I'm kind of embarrassed for him, because these are the type of bosses employees can't help but talk about behind their backs. But, hey, whats an Italian without a fiery temper and a few rude hand gestures, right? -

Ummm, no...I heard from a few people that this place is good, but I think it was just hype because they use cute orange vespas as their delivery vehicles. Honestly, I really wanted to like it so that there could be a much needed good italian restaurant in the area, but NO!
First of all, they serve everything on paper plates with plastic utensils and plastic cups...?
Second, the soup is very mediocre, flavorless, etc. The pizza crust sucks and the paninis are really thin and burnt. The only thing I really liked was the pickled veggies that came with the sandwhiches and I'm positive those come from a jar.
If you want good food in the area, go to that place 15 on echo park ave, do not bother with andiamo. They have some kinks to work out before they are worth it. -

This place seriously blew my mind!
We walk in, hear great tunes playing, plenty of art on the walls, a good amount of tables... even before you walk in - As a matter of fact as soon as you get out of your car you get this insane whiff of marinara, great cheese and herbs. To die for! We had a lovely blonde waitress who was on top of it. Everything here is organic. Don't get it twisted, the prices are phenomenal. I would recommend their spinach salad with cheese ravioli also, their formaggio de funghi which is DELICIOSO!
Even their organic tea was the bomb. I really like that they serve it on a to go clear cup. They even top it off before ya go.
I love this place. -

Honest to God, I'm still washing my mouth out.
I know that sounds a bit cruel, but it's honest. I really wanted to like Andiamo, since it's in my neighborhood, but my formaggio con funghi pizza was truly awful. The first impression you get is the overwhelming salty taste, then you try to identify the cheese ... and fail. Chunky and rather ordinary mushrooms on top of tasteless crust completes the snapshot. It's just god-awful. I'm so depressed - I want to support new restaurants in our neighborhood, but I just can't in this case.
I LOVE pizza, and have spent a ton of time in Italy (and Little Italy in New York) tracking down and eating the best, but this doesn't resemble any pizza I've had anywhere else. You're better off getting your pizza at Hard Times, Michaelangelo's (which just moved to a bigger location on Rowena), Pizza Buona, Nicky D's or Masa instead. -

Los Angeles, CA
Amazing. The first word to come to mind.
Love the pizza for many reasons. It's nice and crispy, yet still foldable. The cheese is thick and flavorful, yet not overpowering. The sauce has a good spice and earthy essence, yet isn't too sweet. The toppings, organic like the rest, are full flavored and marry each other well in perfect harmony.
The rest of the menu is just as good. Sides made in house, fresh pasta, delicious soups, hot and tasty paninis, and my favorite... Ascendant deserts made fresh from scratch, in particular, the cannoli with it's slight perfectly applied citrus accents.
No matter what you want, it's good. And with no corkage or take-in alcohol fees, it's a great place to bring some friends and a couple bottles of wine for dinner. -

I had a great experience the one time I came here for a big bday party group of about 15 people. I liked it enough to buy a gift certificate for it from http://Restaurant.com.

I'm glad that it's here, but please don't come here for the pastas. It's not al dente, slightly too salty on the bolognese, and I asked for penne but got rigatoni.
I know I should've gotten the pizza, but now I know..... only go here for pizza. That will be on my next trip. Hopefully the pasta is not an indication of what their pizzas are like ... -

Los Angeles, CA
For the pizza - this place deserves 5 stars. For the location, setting, decor, acoustics and coolster nervous staff, I can only give it 3 stars - so I had to average it out to 4 stars.
Let's start with the negatives: I can tell that a lot of love was put into this little fixer-upper mini-mall storefront but the orange vinyl walls, the concrete floors, the steel furniture, the garage sale art, the TERRIBLE acoustics and the hip delivery boys who risk their lives driving tangerine scooters with pizza between their legs make for an uncomfortable experience. That said...
After getting over the superficial negatives: the pizza is amazing! The pizza is so good and more pizza was needed at this end of Silverlake. Who would have thought that we'd be this lucky. I disagree with other reviews - this is not the New York style pizza that I know (try Mulberry in Beverly HIlls). This is more like designer pizza. The Signore Roberto pizza is an excellent pizza with so many flavors. There are many unique pizzas and make your own favorite with additional toppings.
An additional positive is the eco-conscious nature of this place - right down to the biodegradeable compost friendly to-go bags. nice touch.
I love their food - I will order pizza from them on a regular basis! -

Finally tried the Andiamo pizza and wished I had not waited so long.
Just dropping by on a whim I ordered the clam oreganata pizza to go and it was absolutely delicious! The garlic, clams and breadcrumbs made a potent mixture of flavours as well as textures. The dough was thin and crispy but also chewy....the oregano fresh, not dried. Cannot wait to try the "Andiamo" or create my own with roasted eggplant and anchovies. -

Great local pizza spot. Might be struggling to reconcile an idealistic worldview with harsh economic realities--but of all the things that could be wrong with a restaurant, I can't think of anything more forgivable. The food is good, lovingly prepared, and the ingredients are high quality.
I would encourage them to get that beer and wine license asap, and maybe ease back on the disposable table ware. These two things would make them less of an "option" and more of a "destination."
But as for my main concerns--food and service--both are excellent at Andiamo. I hope they make it. -

I was surprised so many people had bad experiences here. Seems like the breadcrumb stuff and the mushroom stuff get lower reviews. I'll just talk about what I've had, which has all been great.,
I've had the pretty basic Belladonna and Margherita pizzas with Whole Wheat crust, which isn't as tasty at all as the regular crust, but it helped me not feel like a total fat face.
Last night I had the Signore Roberto pizza, which is basically a really awesome meat pizza with capicola, Italian sausage, proscuitto, salami, herbs, green olives. Big hit at our table of four. I feel like we've eaten one of their pizzas before with even more or different meat on it that was just as delicious.
I've had their Classico (meat stuffs) panini and their Vegetarian panini, which, as expected, the meat stuffs tasted way better, but they were both good.
It's BYOB, which is awesome, but try to bring it from further away, because the liquor store next door is broke down, real expensive ($15 for a 6pk of Bud and a pack of cigarettes), and the guy working there is a total dick usually.
The only not so great thing about Andiamo is that it's expensive. $22 for a large pizza. But it's filling. We go with four people total, that's 2 slices a person, so it's not terrible.
The owner's really nice, and the people who work there are nice and interesting and cause you to feel a little less cool.
Limited outdoor seating. -

My wife and I live a block away so we phoned our order in and opted to pick it up, rather than have it delivered. The pizza, a margherita augmented with pepperoni (thickly cut slices -- yum!) was very flavorful and delicious. The Di Mare salad was good if overly salty and disappointingly small for the $10.50 price. Did the quality of the food justify the $34 total? Not so much.
It also didn't help at all the way server who took our payment behaved while ringing us up. In a conversation he was having with another fellow that was far more important to him than anything else going on in the room, used foul language and loudly twice -- and in the immediate presence of a young girl standing near us.
That kind of trash might not have any bearing in the big scheme but it impacted my impression of the place and made me damn sure not want to pay any future visits.
UPDATE: What a pleasant surprise! My wife just received a phone call from Anthony at Andiamo who read the above. Expressing his regrets at what we experienced he is refunding us the total in hopes that we'll give his place another try. Indeed we will, as it's refreshing to find a local business that proves itself to be so proactive in understanding the importance of good customer service. -

I love Andiamo. Some pizzas are better than others, but none are bad. Also, here's a little fun fact for you; Billy gets his ingredients from farmers' markets every morning AND cooks the pizzas himself. What a champ! I feel really good about eating their pizzas. The greek salad is the bomb, too, if you crave a lighter fare. Also, if you're a picky eater, you can build your own! WOW! And it's a BYOB kinda place w/o the corkage fee. PARTY TIME!
p.s. The price is right.... if you think it's expensive then don't eat a whole pizza by yourself, fatty. Share it with me! -

What a great place! We ordered the Belladonna - and added half pepperoni half sausage. Man o man was it excellent! The meats were hearty and the cheese was gooey-licious.
You have to admire the "green" goals of this restaurant to be as eco-friendly as possible. They serve Mexican Coke [no high fructose corn syrup!], other drinks in biodegradable cups, and your food on biodegradable plates. The place has got a modern design to it and they have a cool website. I'm only giving it 4 stars bc parking isn't the best and service was kinda slow even on a slow night.
But overall I'll definitely coming back to this new local fave - good/good for you food for great prices! -

I like Andiamo! I ordered the Belladonna with pepperoni to go, and as I was waiting, I noticed that they have a compost bin --how cool! Well, they hold true to their mission statement about going green.
I understand where Haile R. is coming from, because you know when you go to those Japanese ramen noodle house and they have fake model because non-Asians need to know what they're ordering (ok, ok, they're for Asians as well), that's what their cheese looked like ---plastic. The cheese sat evenly on the crust. --maybe that's why I like their pizza...their pizza looks like a perfect model that I think to myself that it's not that good because it looks to perfect and plasticy, and when I take a bite, I am surprise that it's not bad and in fact quite good. My cheese didn't came off with one bite, and I didn't notice any breadcrumbs on my pizza nor was it overwhelming salty. Their tomato sauce is more like paste. The best part of the pizza for me is that it's NOT oily. I can actually eat the entire pizza without getting grease all over on my hand.
I'll have to come back and try their Frittatas and Formaggio Con Fughi.
P.S. Thanks Anna A. - I had no idea that it's free/BYOB! -

Meh. I wasn't terribly impressed with Andiamo. The decor is cool and funky, but on the day I went there for a dinner meeting, my friend and I were the only two patrons there the entire night. Because of that, the staff treated the restaurant more like their living room, laying around on the couches and cranking the music up really loud. At one point their cat even came out into the dining room--I like cats and all, but, mmm, probably not the most sanitary practice ...
I could have overlooked all of the above if the food had been stellar, but that too missed the mark. The garlic knots were hard as if they'd been nuked a little too long, and the margherita pizza, while passable, lacked pizzazz.
The high points were the Mexican Coke and the staff, for all their layabout-ness, were friendly. But perhaps there's a correlation between the lack of professionalism and a lack of customers. Just a thought. -

This is a great spot for lunch. Comfy atmosphere and great great service.
The pizza has a great crispy thin crust. I saw they also have thicker Sicilian style as well, but I haven't tried that. Think more native Italian style than the Americanized Pizza Man cardboard stuff.
The salad I have had (tricolore) was tasty tasty and fresh. Great dressing too. This is a perfect easy place to get great meal. Very well priced for what you get! -

There's a new pizza spot in Silverlake, and it's the place to go if you want delicious italian food, an environmentally friendly business model, or perhaps most importantly: no corkage fee.
Andiamo opened a couple of week ago, but last night was the debut of their full menu. It's clear they're still picking up steam, but I can't help but think this place has a great future ahead of it. If you want to experience the happiness and excitement of a brand new family joint, I highly recommend you dine here as soon as possible.
The tagline of the place seems to be "pizza goes green." They use local, organic ingredients, they have an energy-efficient kitchen and dining room, and they use environmentally-friendly plates. I don't truly understand how the plates are environmentally friendly, but I did feel like a better person for eating off of them. The interior of the restaurant is simple and modern. It's a warm setting, but that's mostly due to the people that work there.
From what we were told, the chef worked at a restaurant in either NYC Atlantic City or Europe that got a Michelin rating (that's good, right?). My wife and I enjoyed our meal, especially the spedini, which is based on the chef's mother's recipe. It was delicious. They have great pizza, and a full menu on their website.
Perhaps the best thing about this place, however, was the owner. He's an incredibly friendly and funny guy, and you could really see how badly he wanted everyone in the restaurant to enjoy themselves. He's clearly gone to great lengths to make sure the food, the employees and the setting are very nice, and I hope his hard work pays off. This review is a bit gushing, but I am not a part of the Andiamo family - I just feel like it after my experience there on Friday night. I wish them the best. -

For the most part this restaurant is good. I will have to agree with other reviews that I dont know why they serve food on paper plates. I think it shows that they think they can pull anything off in silverlake if they sell it to be cool enough..but how nice does melted cheese look on paper plates? not anytime really.
There salads were pretty good and I had a good pasta dish. The owner also came out and gave us a free dessert that was like toast and chocolate ...in a panini form. I thought it was a nice gesture and sorta good but nothing super gourmet that a george foreman grill couldnt do...
i liked the placed but the owner was a bit of a flirt which was 1/2 funny and 1/2 distasteful... -

I actually found this place through the entertainment book, I saw the reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try. I had the Primavera Pizza delivered and wow... I can eat this pizza all day long.
It was covered with roasted vegetables and the thin crust was amazing. I'm very happy with my choice and hope to try their other pizzas soon! -

We got 2 pastas for take-out. One with a pink sauce and the other with a marinara sauce. I'm sorry but both dishes felt like something I could've made at home with bottled sauces and dry pasta. Really nothing special.

Uh-uh. Lots of good reviews on here - but I have to say, my experience was far less than desirable.. so much so that I sadly will not be coming back.
Appetizer - garlic knots tasted like it was refried from 2-day old leftovers
Salad - completely soggy with too many ingredients
Pizza - I don't know what the fuck it was other than not good
Memorable in all the wrong ways -

we ordered pizza from them back in june when they first opened. the signore roberto pizza (see pic above) was pretty good. the guy who took my order didn't get my number down right, so we were waiting for the delivery guy and he was trying to contact us. (Orange vespas can go up the hill?)
other than that, the pizza is pretty good. they use these environmentally friendly corn material for their plastic cups. we had an almond italian soda. almond flavor probably taste better in asian desserts.
i would probably try out all the pizza joints in silverlake before going back -

Before this place opened, they catered an art opening in Silverlake, I had eaten prior to going to the event, but was awestruck by the lovely spread of Italian pizza and bruschetta (just like my grandma from Northern Italy used to serve). Once they started delivery service we ordered a margherita and a Gaetano, which were great. I like that the sauces are slightly sweet and reminiscent of my grandma's style -light on the cheese and preferably grated sparse. They deliver pretty fast on mopeds and according to my pal ...the staff is pretty cute. They also have a nice combo bruschetta plate with eggplant, olives and fresh tomatoes. If you eat there you can BYOB. I think it's a nice addition to the neighborhood and a refreshing change in pizza style from all of the others

Love this joint. BYOB, no corkage fee... there is a liquor store next door with a solid beer and wine selection. Its eco-friendly and the scene is mellow. The servers are super nice. I get great service every time I go. The pizza and deserts are amazing. I definitely recommend Andiamo. Get a pizza , get a Fat Tire next door and be marry.

Got a pizza delivered, was VERY disappointed. I think they must used slices of cheese not shredded as anytime I took a bit of a slice all the cheese came with it. The other toppings we ordered were also very sparse. We did get a roasted veg salad and that wasn't bad but that didn't make up for the cardboard pizza. Ugh, as much as I hate to say it, Nicky D's is better.

Being the lazy....uhm...I mean, busy person that I am, I found their grassroots based marketing strategy of dropping menus at the doorsteps to be effective because I've been feeling tired of ordering the same things from the same local restaurants. it was time to kick it up a notch!
So...I order the caesar salad because you can really tell alot from a place just by their caesar salad. it's equivalent to gauging a chinese restaurant by their basic kung pao chicken dish. Anyhow, I also order the dimare pizza (without the anchovies of course) and the spinach salad with chicken. I must admit, the staff was very accommodating with my requests and the delivery was timely, but I have to admit that their quality didn't meet my expectations. The dressing on the caesar salad was not very tasty and the pizza just didn't come together in my mouth as I would have liked. It was lackluster and the chunks of garlic did nothing for me. In fact, it overwhelmed everything else on the pizza. Normally, I'm a huge fan of garlic. Look at any of my past reviews and you would know I'm a garlic fiend, but for some reason, it just didn't blend well together. Maybe it just was overcooked?
In any case, I was not satisfied with the meal. They get 5 stars for service though (despite the fact that I didn't physically dine in the restaurant). -

Still love the place, but the salad has shrunk in size but not in price. It's the size of a side salad now. I'm sure all those yummy ingredients and vespas and orange paint are expensive, but maybe use less cheese on the pizza and put some more damn lettuce in your salad!

The food was great, but the service was horrible. The waitress kept talking to her friends and laughing. I swear she was intentionally ignoring us. When she finally acknowledged us and said "I'll be right there"... and then she hid behind a pole and kept laughing with her friends! I had to go and get my own water and later get my own take out box for our leftovers. There were only three tables with patrons at the time. The other two tables were her friends.
So even though I was very impressed with the chef, my husband and I left with a bad taste in our mouths from being treated with such disrespect.
