I stop here almost every time I am through the area. Several years ago I pretty much stopped drinking AVB because the beers had really slipped. Thankfully the new owner has made the changes needed to make AVB great again. Also for years the beer selection had gotten pretty boring. Same old stuff. With the new ownership not only are there regular beers improving but they are starting to make some really great seasonals and specialty beers. I am very excited to see what is happening with their barrel aging program. They usually have a great selection of beers on tap, about 15, including several one off's, experimental, and specialty brews that are available only in their tap room.
The last time I went I finally took the tour which was really good. Highly recommend it if you are at all interested in the beer making process. -

This place was alright. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of visiting AVBC, we also visited a couple other breweries, so it's only natural to compare them. AVBC was sort of the lamest. The beer was really hit or miss and the price of the tasting was much higher than the the tastings at breweries with really good beer!
I really enjoyed that it's dog friendly. The pups were all really sweet and made the whole visit much more fun. Their merchandise was super overpriced, which isn't really that surprising. Plus it was surprising that we were there on a weekend and there was almost no one else there. The bar staff wasn't really social and the place just seemed super boring. Luckily, our group is talkative and easily entertained - by ourselves!
We didn't take advantage of the disc golf or the brew tour. -

I can't believe that there are only three reviews for this place. It is great. I stopped here on my way from SF to Ukiah. So I only had time for a small sampler. All of which were great. They make top quality beer here. And I went to the little shop and got myself a nice t-shirt as a souvenir.
If you like great beer, just to there. -

I can't believe there's only 1 review for this place! WTF.
The only thing I will say that's slightly negatory is that their tasting room is really big and cavernous. It's this huge open room with high ceilings that has the potential to be a great space, but I tend to like things that feel a little more cozy and intimate.
That said, this place is a little slice o heaven. Good things:
-Located in the stunning Anderson Valley. Go in spring or summer.
-They allow dogs, both inside the tasting room and on the fenced in patio. Our hound had a blast.
-Free bar snacks. We were given a basket of pretzels AND peanuts in the shell. Score.
-The outdoor patio is awesome.
-Bear+deer=beer. Take a photo with one.
-Coziest. Hoodies. EVER.
-All of their amazing beers on tap. If you love beer, please try their stuff.
-Frisbee golf course. I didn't play, but it's cool to know it's there. -

*** I am giving this four stars because I really did like the beer, BUT they were doing construction during the lunch hour with a packed house, which I thought was rather distracting.
Great beers, fun bar, nice detour, great sampler, and good strong beers.
- No food, so minus one point. -

I stopped by the gift shop & bar on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. I was greeted by a friendly black labrador at the door. The bartender behind the bar only had one mellow couple sitting at the bar and didn't appear to be that thrilled to be there. I purchased a shirt & sweatshirt. Only after a few questions about the seasonal beers & mentioning that I was prohibited from drinking till after my surgery did she open appear to show her friendly side.
The shirt & sweater sizes on hand were available in most styles up to a 3XL. Several beers are available in growlers, large bottles, six packs & on tap for your enjoyment.
I do plan on coming back & doing the tour when I am able to drink beer & will be bringing the dog along.
