Anderson Park
1 review for Anderson Park
Decided to try a lake today rather than take the boat out to the bay or the gulf and had a lot of fun. This is the first time we've put in at Lake Tarpon and used Anderson Park since it appeared to have the best ramps with the most parking in case it was crowded. Although I didn't expect the $5 day fee since ramps Gandy Bridge and Anclote River Park were free, but we weren't disappointed with the choice of ramps. They are very easy to use and the ramps themselves were much more shallow than any ramp I've ever put in at. The docks have rubber bumpers easy to tie off to in order to get everything situated. The lake is much smaller than anything we're used to. I guess the size of the bay really has us spoiled, but the lack of rough chop makes up for it. It was a nice to explore the lake for the first time, but one thing we noticed right away was no real swimming areas. The shore line was either private houses or too rural to swim given the possibility of gators with little kids. We ended up swimming some in the middle of the lake, but our small children really need a shallow beach area still. Lots of skiers and tubers on the lake, but not too many so it didn't feel crowded. All in all a nice day trip.
