Love this Orchard!  Its very close to my parents house so it is a must when visiting the family.

Little known fact: starts operating in July!!!!  Apple picking is a bit later but the cider slushes are available and man are they SENsational!  Best cider slush I've ever had.

Jams and other veggies are available too!

If you go, REMEMBER:  CIDER SLUSH IT BABY!  Oh, and they're only a buck!

How do you like them apples?

(What? I know it's what you're thinking... just had to get that outta the way... moving forward you can choose whether you want to picture Matt Damon or the talking tree from the Wizard of Oz as the voice of this review! Or a freakish hybrid of both: like Matt Damon's face on the tree!)

What a day at the orchard! Splendid weather... bustling families spilling over from Pleasant View's Heritage Fest and a laid back wandering through an orchard! My lovely companion and I headed Southeast for the 30 minute trip, which was just enough to feel like a getaway from the city. Thanks to the handy-dandy Yelp we found the website info making sure no cars are allowed on this orchard... we made our way to this place because it's only wagon country out on this orchard. Pick up 2 peck-sized bags and snatch up a picking pole and walk on out to the apple trees! ($13 for a total of about 3 dozen apples all-told!)

I straight up loved this experience. I want to pick all my fruit! We have more apples than we know what to do with; well... we know... apple sauce, apple sauce and apple pies! A veritable lil' apple fest we'll have!

The orchard has a market too... with sauces, jams, butters, cashew brittle, caramels, caramel apples, gourds and all things Indiana & Fall. Get it on!

Didn't actually pick apples, I visited this orchard for the first time in October and picked up a couple bags of apples.  Will come back earlier next year to do some actual apple picking!  They had hay rides out to the pumpkin patch for kids, a mountain of pumpkins available next to their barn, and so many different kinds of apples!  I appreciated that they post the apples' characteristics (tart, sweet, good for eating or baking) along with the names on the signs...there were a few varieties of apples I had not heard of before.  They also have cider, apple butter, lots of different kinds of preserves...it really is a country farmstand.  It was super busy on a fall afternoon, so the lines were long, but there is so much to look at the time passes quickly.  Parking is kind of a nightmare, and be prepared for the gravel roads!
