My car was damaged in a parking lot nearby and I was referred to Anderson Behel by my insurance company. When I arrived they had all of my paperwork, called the insurance company, and went over the entire process of getting my car repaired in a lot of detail. During the process I got updates frequently either over email or with a phone call. Anderson Behel even alerted me that my insurance would cover it BEFORE either of the two insurance carriers. It did take over a week to repair but it was actually two days under the estimate so that's fine. When I returned my rental car they called Hertz to come and pick it up. They also gave me advice regarding keeping Hertz receipts just in case. Professional, helpful, friendly staff.
The resulting body work is clean. No problems so far.
After this experience with Anderson Behel I would recommend them and come here if I was paying for the work (i.e. not my insurance company paying for it). -

Some jackoff broke into my car trying to steal my in-dash navigation system. Who does that? Of course they didn't get it, and they left a broken window and damaged interior. My insurance recommended this place, and off we go!
First day there, I get an estimate and we go over all the basics. They participate as part of esurance's repairview program, so you can see the progress on your car online as they snap pics. The pics are kinda blurry though, and there's no comments along with the pics. A lost opportunity, IMHO.
Aside from the obscenely long time it took to fix the car (two weeks for a broken window and a some damaged interior pieces?), the car was returned to me looking brand new, as they detailed it as well. Interior looked great, exterior looked great, never better for a 8 year old car.
Mariah, at the front desk, also called me daily to keep me updated on the progress of the car. Overall, a great experience! -

I was recently rear-ended and was recommended this shop by my insurance. Man am I glad we came here. The staff are family friendly and easy to talk to. We called ahead and, upon arrival, they had everything ready to make our process go smoothly. They were excellent in checking in with us every few days and had the car ready a day before our estimated date of completion. Our pick up was just as easy and our car looked better than prior to the accident! Thank goodness for yelp and positive reviews or we may never have considered coming :)

I don't know why my review has disappeared from this yelp, so I will write another one.
I had a car worked on in 2008 when I was hit and just this year I was hit again. I knew just where to go, Anderson Behel. They did another great job.
I saw another review about a warranty issue and I just want to clarify. I had my hood painted there around 2002 and my paint started looking strange. I mentioned it when I had the most recent accident and Anderson Behel handled the warranty repair without any hesitation or headache.
Thank you again!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Had a run in with an SUV bumper in the Santana Row parking lot. I found Anderson-Behel through my insurance's approved body shop list. I have been with USAA my whole life and completely trust their judgement. I had called several of the body shops on the list and Mariah made an impression on the phone with her positive attitude. When I got to A-B, Mariah assisted me in submitting my claim while Billy completed the estimate. They were also super dog-friendly, which always earns brownie points in my book! Mariah contacted Enterprise to set up my rental car and the shuttle car was there to pick me up by the time the paperwork was finished. Five days later, I had my car back looking shiny, clean, and dent free! Everyone at Anderson-Behel was super friendly and accommodating and made a stressful situation a positive experience. Thanks Jeff, Billy, and Mariah!!

Professional A+ customer service! Anybody who has had body work knows that it can be expensive. The price varies on the damage, type of work that needs to be done, and how much time it's going to take. I found the price to repair to be fair, and reasonable. They took care of the dings in my vehicle with minimal downtime. Check out Anderson Behel for detailed, quality body work.

Just a week ago I got rear ended and I already knew where to bring my vehicle for repairs. One Anderson Behel is a preferred shop on AAA referral of body shop and we all know AAA reputation and high price premium to have there in insurance. But anyways, this was my third visit in 4 years of the same incidents. Ugh! Go Figure people love to rear end me lol!!! I really want to recognize one of there employee but since this is a public domain and it goes all over the internet let me just label her "M" So this person is the best friendly person I ever met in the industry. She is kind, she will treat you in a professional manner and definietly give you a 5 star treatment regardless your personal appearence... Again, Thank You staff of Anderson Behel Body shop.. Knock on wood I don't have to visit and get my car repaired. Hopefully this will help you get more business

After a DRUNK 80 something year old man rear ended me and denied he even did it, I was pretty sad. But once AAA figured that it was his fault, I took it to Anderson Behel and from there it was nothing but smooth sailing. Fran, Miraiah, and BILLY took such great care of me and especially my car. They had all the repairs done in 2 days! Great customer service!

I went to Anderson-Behel after someone broke into my car. To their credit, they do quality work. In my case they had to replace the driver's side door panel and repaint the entire left side of the car. (All this because the thief pried out the driver's side lock cylinder. Good thing it was covered by insurance because the parts and labor totalled over $2,000!)
When I got the car back it looked better than it did the day I bought it (used, admittedly). However, like most repair shops, they detail the car before returning it and they did a somewhat shoddy job on the interior. There were several areas in the car where I found sticky white foam-- I assume this is some sort of cleaning product-- which was difficult to remove. In fact there's some foam visible in the speaker grille that I don't know how to get out at all.
But my biggest complaint with their shop is that they had my car for over two weeks and repeatedly pushed back the due date for the completion of the repairs. When I left the car with them they voluntarily offered to give me daily updates on the repair progress-- an offer which I took-- but never once did they call to give me an update. Only through repeated calls to them did I learn that the car was sitting around idle for several days before they began the repairs and that a series of inattentive oversights on their part (like no one bothering to pick up the replacement lock cylinder on time) delayed the completion by day after day.
If you have an extra car or can afford to be without yours for a couple weeks then Anderson-Behel will do a quality repair job, but if time is a concern I'd look into other options too. -

eff this place man, no kidding.
I brought my car here because it was suggested by my insurance company, but there's no way I would ever recommend them to my worst enemy. They did the job okay and returned my car within two days.
Due to my schedule I wasn't able to pick the car up until three days after it was finished. NBD, right? After I finally picked up my car, on the drive home I started to notice some things...
First of all, one of the head lights wasn't working. WHAT THE HELL? You would think they would check this sort of thing, right? I mean, they're only safety measures to ensure my life and those of others AREN'T DESTROYED. As it turns out, the technician forgot to PLUG IT IN. I don't even have words for the level of asininity that this reaches. Laziness or stupidity? I don't know, but either is terrible. My boyfriend spent about a half an hour figuring this out because I didn't want to get pulled over, luckily he was able to fix it.
Secondly, they were doing body work on the driver side door and fender. I assume this means they had to disassemble the door. I'm not sure which monkey handled the re-assembly, but the window on the driver's side now goes up HALF OF AN INCH lower than the passenger side. Really? REALLY? A kindergartner could have spotted the error. Again, is this sheer laziness or stupidity?
Third, and probably most annoying, they broke my heater. I'm not sure how or WHY, but they broke my heater. It now only blows cold air unless RPMS reach 3,000 or more. I don't think I even have to describe what my 30 minute drive home on surface streets in 50 degree weather is like. It makes me want to crush kittens out of anger, SERIOUSLY.
I cannot believe anyone would look at the job they did and call it "done". It wasn't like at any point I bothered them about the time frame, I never called, nothing. I even told the woman that my only free day is Friday, so she knew I wasn't going to come in until then. AND YET, my car sat. They half-assed and hustled their way through the car and it sat for three days.
Perhaps they could have spent half of one of those days reviewing their work, making sure GODDAMN LIGHTS COME ON, that the fucking window goes all the way up, and that they haven't COMPLETELY BROKEN previously working mechanics.
OF COURSE, all of this is compounded by their completely retarded work schedule (8 - 5 monday through Friday, WTF?), so I wasn't able to talk to someone about my car until Monday morning, instead, I left a message.
No one called me on Monday morning. I had to call them, and the woman who answered the call couldn't have cared less. So annoying. The only time I felt anyone even cared is when someone called to confirm what time I was going to bring the car back in to get fixed.
I have no words to describe my annoyance. Something that should have taken a few days has now stretched itself into WEEKS, more missed time at work, and more headache.
I am so disappointed. I will NEVER go here again, and I would never NEVER suggest it to anyone else. Seriously, TRUST ME. Unless you want a half-assed job done on your car... you know, if you like that sort of thing. Smashed cars become broken cars when you take them to Anderson-Behel. -

Recently one of my cars was hit. Decided to look around at a couple places and see who I was going to EARN my business. After pulling into the lot and seeing all the clean car ports, I was impressed. First impressions thing.......
Next, as I was in the office and going over what I wanted done with Marriah , Lisa called for an estimater.
He walks into the office and says' " I already did a walk around and started the estimate. Second empression.
So I tell him I am going to shop around and I will make a desision by the end of the day and I will have the insurance agent contact him.
He asks who. I give hima first name only and he replies. Is her last name .............? I have been working with her for years. We know each other well. Third impression.
I figures why waste any time.
I asked them to start the work and was given a 5 day estimate.
I got my car in 4.
I hope I don't need then again, but if I do. -

I got my car serviced here awhile back since I got rear-ended. I am quite pleased with their professorial service and attention to detail that they provided for me and my car. I was going on vacation the following week and they have kept me updated on my voice-mail throughout the week. Even though I was rear-ended they also gave my car some detailing making it look 5 years newer!

One of the main reasons why I joined Yelp was because I wanted consumers out there to be aware and I feel it's important to have a voice. For this reason, I'm reviewing Anderson Behel.
My car got broken into and my insurance recommended that I go to this place. Since it was very close to work, I agreed. I met Jeff in the morning and he immediately assured me that it will look "good as new" and that they do luxury cars all the time.
It was not a good experience from day 1. First it was delay after delay for one reason or another. And this was their slow period because of the recession and people opting to take the money w/o repairing. When I finally got my car back a week later than promised, the freakin paint job had RUNS in it! I couldn't believe what kind of idiot wouldn't see this and had to have the customer point this out. Isn't this chapter covered in Basic Car Painting 101? They also disassembled my passenger mirror and it was not put back together correctly.
Ok, so here's the weird part. When I picked up my car, I thought it was perfect. I drove it back to work and 90 minutes later when I came back out, I noticed a big dent on my trunk lid! I was so pissed because I thought someone backed up into me just moments after I picked up my car from the bodyshop. I called security and had the guy review the tape so I could nab the guy who hit me at work. After careful review, it was clear that NO ONE did it at work. He saw the moment I pulled into the garage up until the moment I called him. So obviously it didn't happen at work and the video proved it. I went back to Anderson Behel and spoke to Jeff. Of course he denied any responsibility because IF it happened there, I would have seen it before driving off. WTF happened? I have no proof they did it. All I can say is that I drove straight back to work after picking up my car and I think I would feel someone rear ending me on the short trek back.
I was referred to B-Line in San Jose who did the most wonderful job. It was clearly day and night and you can see the level of workmanship this place produces. You see nothing but fine automobiles and there's usually a wait to get into this place (for obvious reasons). They even fixed all the flaws left from AB and I guess people in the business knows about the workmanship/reputation of others. Nuff said. -

My car was rear ended. AB was one of the authorized locations i can take my car to to get it fixed.
Here's why they did not get a good review.
I had previously taken my car to fender collission for an estimate as i like to get a feel for different shops. FC was also an authorized location for my insurance company.
FC told me that because my car is new, less than 15k miles, they have the ability to use new part. AB said they had to use the cheapest method to fix my car. I even told ABC that i was just at another TLC location and they mentioned about the new car part program for new cars. Francis Killebrew the estimator stated otherwise. I called my insurance company after i left and they agreed with FC. Another thing that i did not like when i got to AB was they forced me to fill out this piece of paper that asks for my contact info and aboutcar. I ALREADY HAD MY INSURANCE COMPANY SETUP APPT W/ THEM, TELLING THEM I WAS COMING OVER. MY INSURANCE COMPANY ALREADY TOLD THEM ALL THE DETAILS. i really don't get the need to fill out this extra piece of form, wasting my time and their time.
due to these two F' UPS they will not get my business!! i rather drive a little and bring my car to someone who appears to be competent than..... -

I took my car in because there were couple scratches on the hood. I was told the entire hood has to be re-painted. The estimate was pretty much in line with the other.
3 days later when I picked up the car, the scratches were gone but I can see all the little rock chips on the hood. I asked them about it since they supposedly have to repaint the entire hood. They said they would have to strip the hood to fix those. I thought I paid to have the entire hood repaint (I was told that). It seems like all they did were to patch up the couple scratches and re-apply the clear coat. Not too happy about the result. -

Okay, I haven't had a car for six years. Plus I am inheriting my mom's car. Plus I live in a Fourplex with squeezed parking in a carport. So, I might be a woman driver but, when the side of the car "kissed" the yellow parking barrier pole I thought I was going to die. I called the Saturn Dealer and told them my "sob" story (again this car is emotional for me) they told me to contact Anderson-Behel. So I made an appoint to have an estimate done. I know I sound corny but, I knew that the yellow paint and any dent was going to be big money and screw up my insurance so I was willing to pay for it out of pocket.
I arrived at the shop on time, a little high strung and the first thing. I was asked how I was doing? Would I like some coffee or tea? There was fresh donuts and a smile on everyone face. I didn't get handed a clipboard and told to wait my turn, I was actually GREETED. The technician came out a few minutes later and examined the yellow paint smeared on the passenger side. He said if I really wanted it repainted I could but, he had a better idea. He went and got the paint thiner and took the yellow stain off before my eyes. ( i did own a couple of cars and talk about having an epiphany i remembered "i can do this" ) He was kind and he didn't talk down to me. He reassured me that the car is made to withstand some beating with dent proof materials. Not that I am going to be doing any more "kissing" with stationary objects, but I know where I am going to go incase I trade in the car for an uglier color car and I need to repaint it..uh fire engine red. Anderson Behel is worth the time and money, if only because of great customer service and they care about your car as much as you do. -

It sounds like a couple people have had a hit or miss with Anderson. I haven't had much reason to go to a repair shop in the past so I can't comment on their prices, but their customer service and quality of work is great.
From day one, I received calls updating me on the progress and what the next step was in order to get my car repaired. The entire staff was friendly and courteous, both on the phone and in person. The original estimated completion time was about three weeks. Actual completion time was a little over a week. Staff gave me a complete rundown on what work was completed and explained all the costs. They also urged me to look over the car to make sure everything was in order and gave me some car care instructions to make sure the new paint job wouldn't peel or wash out.
I haven't driven the repaired car too much yet, but so far everything looks great. Will update if anything feels wrong about the car in the next few months. Another nice thing about Anderson is that they have a lifetime guarantee on repairs - if something goes wrong with something they've fixed, they'll fix it. -

This place is GREAT! I did some self inflicted damage to my car backing up in my driveway - (Tail lights, bumper, corner damage) When I called AAA this is the place that came up on their auto-recommendation system. I didn't have to chose them, but if I did, everything would be streamlined within the insurance company. So I picked it because its close to my office, and my damage wasn't too severe. I called and made an appt to drop off my car, when I got there, they were ready for me. They called the Hertz rental car people, who came and picked me up right away. To protect the car owner and the business, they took a lot of pictures of my whole car before taking the keys from me, to document any pre-existing damage. They had my car for 1 week, during which they called me several times to give me updates. When it came time to pick up my car, the pickup couldn't have been easier! The car was pulled out and ready to go, cleaned spotless inside and out. Repaired beautifully. They also took my rental car back, so I didn't have to hassle with that. The office staff was very nice and we instantly had a great rapport joking and laughing with each other. This is just a great place!

Review from James C.

I don't like to give bad reviews, but everyone should be warned about Anderson-Behel.
I'm sure others have had great experiences with them, but mine was horrible. It started out great, their facility looks clean and professional, the receptionist is friendly. They have a lot of high-end cars, which seemed like a good sign. They came recommended by my dealership so I chose them over my insurance's first pick. Turned out to be a bad idea. Also I canceled Mercury Insurance after this incident, but that's another review.
The problem began when they called me and said there were some black spots in the paint they hadn't seen at the estimate time. So I leave work in the middle of the day to go see what's up. There are tiny black spots in a spray pattern on the rear of my car. These weren't there when I dropped it off a day ago. The car has been nowhere else, just sitting on their lot. They dismiss the idea that it happened on their facility and suggest I contact my insurance. Really long story short, the insurance wont cover it since it apparently happened after my accident, but Anderson Behel denies it was their fault and supposedly tested the spots to prove it wasn't any substance of theirs. I don't know what happened and can't be certain they did it but I have no recourse and they did not provide the proper "customer is always right" attitude. From then on the service got worse and worse. After haggling with my contact, his manager, and the insurance adjusters, I was forced to file a second claim to repaint the area where theses spots appeared. This cost me a second deductible charge and tons of phone calls. I had to nag them daily to get the second set of repairs done, and had to return to the shop because they ordered the wrong trim part and didn't assemble my bumper correctly. I was so glad when they were finally done and hope I never have to speak to anyone there ever again. In the end they made more money from my insurance and I paid more in deductible. It also cost me the time and stress just to get my car back to its original condition.
