Ok people, I have read all your reviews on this hotel. Some complaints are warranted and others are a little too picky " How about signage to let the car service know where the main hotel entrance is?.." Seriously??? No comment! Ok actually I do have a comment, I used four different car services my entire weekend, as I tend to get lost all the freaking time in NYC.... And they put the hotel address in the gps and end up at the front entrance of the hotel (where the sign is) not the rear restaurant entrance! This is New York people... Anyways, I thought the hotel was awesome for people that don't want to be around a million tourists and it's also great for people that don't want to get hustled by Dora the Explorer, Snoopy and the like. My dear friend from Texas was with me, she took a picture with Dora and please believe as soon as the camera flashed Dora was expecting to be paid multiple dollars. I laughed..she didn't. The rooms were fantastic and very spacious, I stayed in an upgraded room so I don't know what the standard room looks like. There was free juice, cookies, chocolate, water, soda, sparkling water etc in the room. There was a separate shower and soaking tub, a separate room for the toilet. Reallly big for a NYC hotel, even for a downtown NYC hotel. There was a 24 hour Duane Reade across the street, and a lot of place to eat not to far away. Did I mention its a 10 minute car ride from West Village and the Meat Packing district?? Traffic was decent in the area, I drove my hummer from Boston and found free street parking easily, and right across from the hotel. If you don't find parking it's 41 dollars a day...welcome to NY. Check in is with the iPads which is fine, didn't really care. The subway station for the 2 and 3 is two blocks.. So for 5 dollars you can get to times square and back on one train. I used the Uber on demand car service and it only cost 31 dollars to get driven to times square. I really think the pros out weigh the cons on this one. Oh yeah, I agree that something is up with the heat in the room... Gets a little toasty so we cracked a window and it was all good. I didnt eat at the restaurant, i saw the menu and wasnt interested! Had dinner at Dans Le Noir in NYC, go with a group its a cool $$$ experience. Hope y'all enjoy :-)
P.S. I wouldn't recommend this place for the pretentious traveller, not really high maintenance. Although, they do walk you up to your room and get you situated! -

For my husband birthday I surprised him with a trip to "THE BIG APPLE". Well it was suppose to be a surprise but genius me let the itinerary up on the house computer. ANYWAY!! back to this gorgeous hotel. The Andaz which is part of the Hyatt brand is situated in the financial district. We spent a weekend here and loved every minute. The location was perfect just minutes from midtown but far enough away from the frenzy of midtown. During the weekend the financial district is really quiet. (Hey every ones off and the banks are closed) so that was a plus for me. Walking into the lobby you instantly feel New York sophisticated. The decor is stunning, sweep white Marble steps lead you to the hotels restaurant "Wall & Waters" and the "Bar Seven Five".
They have the best front desk reception area. If your not familiar with this hotel you would think there wasn't a reception desk at all. I guess I cant call it the front desk but the area where you check in is a gorgeous wooden cabinet which looks more like artisan carpentry. The lobby also has a living room style sitting area where guest of the hotel can snack on cookies, nuts and dates as well as chilled distilled and sparkling water (my personal favorite). Wait it get better you can also enjoy fresh muffins, gourmet coffee and a book or two while you relax in your very own public living room.
On to our room. It was very chic and sophisticated, as I would expect. The room was a breath of fresh air in terms of decor. Clean, uncluttered and easy on the eyes. Hotels sometime tend to go overboard on the decor with so many patterns and colors clashing. Not Andaz they keep it simple and I LOVE IT. Overall I had a great weekend stay and would certainly be back. I only give it 4 out of 5 because our friends who stay the weekend there with us, were given the wrong room twice. First room was still dirty second room someone was staying in. They were compensated with a free upgrade so all in all everyone was happy.Listed in: On the Road again

I am really torn over how to rate this hotel. We have stayed there several times (my fiancé is in town on business often and this hotel beats the Trump and the Ritz). It's just this last time was kinda a "cluster truck" on so many levels...sigh
We had a friend staying with us for a couple weeks, 1 of those weeks was in NY so we up graded and got the suite. Supposedly, its the nicest room they have.. If 'privacy' is a word you value when traveling with friends (or children) and you think you will get that in any shape or form staying at the Andaz, look on, my friend. The roll-a-way bed they brought in was almost like a twin bed, so I think it was comfortable BUT she could see straight into our 'bedroom' area so that was unfortunate and the way the mirrors are setup in the living space, you were unable to dress in the bedroom area (even behind the wardrobe) without being seen.. For some reason the heat wasn't working (temp set at 85..couldn't get it above 65 in the room). Maintenance came right away and changed the filter, the next morning, same thing..called again. They came again. This time they said the weather was, "forecasting hot temperatures (in like FIVE days time, btw) so the hotel's heating and cooling system was changing to AC and it wouldn't allow the room to warm up" he says. I was like, why do we have room thermostats then?? He replies, "I'll by-pass that for you." Next morning, same thing. (sigh) We only had 1 more night by this time, so I let it go..
Other little things that were strange:
Automatic room darkening shades, nice touch..however, would be better if the two rooms could have operated independently of one another.
Espresso machine in the room..BUT you had to push/hold turn off/on machine/buttons for it to work (?)
Full size dishwasher in the suite..BUT no soap OR dishes/cutlery!
When we checked in, there were 2 espresso cups and 2 full size coffee cups..after the first night, they took the full size cups and 3 out of the 5 nights we were there we had to call down for them to bring cups back.
One day, when they did leave the cups, housekeeping had been there, dishes set back in there designated area..BUT unwashed. Apparently, they do allow smoking in some of the rooms on the 8th floor but the people in the room next to us were nice enough to smoke and stink up the hall near our door (the suite, and that room were near the end of the hall). We talked to the front desk, they said they would handle it. This went on for 2 days! Even the housekeeper complained to ME in the morning about it and (weird) opened their door and wanted me to smell how bad it was in there! It didn't get better until one of the desk people came up and commented how badly it "reeked" in the hall. I was like..ya think?
Some of the nice things:
Great professional espresso/coffee machine in the lobby, they have manned so you can get a fantastic cup to go in the morning.
Complimentary red/white wine from 6-8pm. (We had this one evening and they were serving a fantastic Tamari, Malbec and pour generously.)
They provide C.O.Bigelow hair and body products (decent size bottles) which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
They have snacks in the fridge (sodas, water, juice) and also a chocolate bar and chips..all of which are complimentary in the rooms, replenished daily. Very nice touch, especially in New York!
Good pressure in the rain shower head.
Free WIFI (moderate speed)
Overall the hotel DOES seem to be clean, the beds ARE comfortable and the staff is helpful so..a good solid 4 but for the price point, it SHOULD be all those things and could easily be so much more!
Honorable mention, we had the pleasure of having Rebeka as our server one evening when we dined for dinner. Not only was she a great and attentive waitress she had a wonderful, fun personality and gave excellent menu recommendations! 5 stars to her for sure!! -

Bye Bye Brooklyn.
After packing, cleaning, and moving out of my Brooklyn apartment in the span of 12 hours...I was tasked with navigating 4 suitcases in an car service to the Andaz Wall Street. There I was to spend a restful evening, and catch an early flight the next day back to Chicago. As I hefted all 4 heavy bags into the car trunk, I thought to myself "well, at least I can finally make use of the bellmen at the hotel!" Usually I travel light and handle my own bags. I was equipped with tipping cash!
So imagine my dismay when I not only could not locate the entrance (it's on Water Street), but when I did...there were no bell people to be found! I wanted some strapping guy to open my car door, pile all my bags up and meet me in my room. Instead, I sort of exhaustedly trooped into the lobby, couldn't figure out where to check in (they mill around with ipads? Ok?).
As I stood saddened in the bustling lobby (3pm Friday)...I finally caught someone coming out of an office door, and he was really helpful. He came out with a luggage rack, checked me in, took me to the room, explained the room, ta da. All is solved, but I do think they may need to streamline some of the processes before getting too attached to the high tech. The entrance here is a little tricky...
THE ROOM! Fabulous. My boyfriend requested an upgrade through his Diamond Status and we scored a fantastic corner room with a view (the best view that can be had!) of the river. Super plush with a King bed, white fluffy linens, windows on almost all sides, 12th floor, separate living room, 2 TVs. Full soaking tub/shower. CO Bigelow bath products. No complaints on the room, nor our service. We were very content!
Room rate: $274 (AAA) + Suite Upgrade
FREE WIFI! (for everyone)
Also, Hyatt Diamond Status: do it! I know it requires traveling a ton (thanks again boyfriend), but free full room service breakfast each day!? So marvelous! Also free access to all pantry/non-alkie refreshments in the room. Not too shabby.
All in all, shaky bit at check-in, but otherwise a really great stay. From that point forward there was always someone to help me: room service, drink service, lobby service, check-out. Obviously staying near Wall Street is a little sleepy on the weekends, but hey...you can actually get a cab!

New York, NY
Before I explain why I will never eat at their $50 + 18% gratuity Easter Brunch ever again, let me first say that Andaz offers a unique, trendy, and tailored hotel experience and their emphasis on quality resonates throughout each napkin fiber placed on your lap. I've stayed at their hotels across the country several times, enjoyed tasty cocktails in their bars, and have dined in their restaurants on various occasions. However, if Peter Cottontail were as obscene as the price of my meal today, then I'd venture to say that a lot of folks would have some beef of their own to add to these trimmings.
I live very close to the Andaz Wall St. and figured I'd give their Sunday brunch a try. Of course, they had a set menu for Easter. I'll admit that I assumed that the basic beverages laid out like orange juice were all-inclusive. However, much to my shagrin, this was not the case. The $50 price only covered a very basic selection of meats, one choice of soup, an extremely limited salad bar, and a desert section small enough to make the village sweet tooth turn sour.
So, the final tally: $50 + $10 "other" (aka service charge) +$6 for a glass of orange juice since "it's a holiday," as the restaurant representative explained, came to a grand total of $71.94. I suppose there's nothing to celebrate a recession like buying a plate for the price of a banquet. Oh well. Aside from my not being an Andaz Diamond member, this is what I get for overlooking my senses and succumbing to big time hunger before walking any further toward civilization beyond the effete projection of the Wall Street blah blah blah that so many people distaste in the first place. -
Review from Lynn S.
The staff greets you at the door and delights you with good news about free morning coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice in the lobby. Do you want a morning newspaper dropped off at your room? Have we mentioned the minibar with snacks that's replenished daily? Again, free, no extra charge.
Nice intro...
The decor in the lobby was contemporary and attractive. My room was equipped with automated darkening shades and furnishings that were simple and uncluttered, Scandinavian style. The bed was firm and the linens were bright white. There was plenty of room to hang clothes, and the only thing I found lacking was a high quality cosmetic mirror. I was pleased with the accommodations until I entered the bathroom.
The black marble decor made it a bit dark, but what caught my attention was a distinct odor. I reported the smell of mildew to housekeeping and the supervisor was at my door in minutes. They did a special cleaning while I was out to dinner, but it was not eliminated. I closed the door so I wasn't breathing it in at night (not much of a barrier). Sadly on my last night there I was awakened from sleep by the rank scent of cigarette smoke. Secondhand smoke in my room? Was it coming through the vents?
The hotel's location on Wall Street is very helpful for those with business in the financial corridor, but the staff needs to be inspecting their rooms more regularly for problems and should never allow a guest to stay in a room with problem that can't be fixed right away. Smiles at the front desk, free OJ, coffee and bottled water are not what guests remember if there are room issues during their stay.
How about putting up signage to let car services know where the main hotel entrance is? I saw several professional drivers mistakenly sitting in their cars at the residence entrance around the corner while their customers waited nervously in the hotel lobby worried their ride to the airport had been forgotten. -
Review from Jeremy S.
Check in process is a little silly... they're trying to be Apple Store-like with no counter and agents walking around with iPads, but they still needed to go over to a bank of computers... not an improvement.
Their revolving door was sticky so someone was tasked with standing by the door to help you move it, why not just get it fixed? I was there for over 4 days... no change.
They lost my reservation for the first night so on arrival I had a harrowing wait to see if I still had a room. Fortunately it ended up not being a serious problem, just a 20 minute delay when I was utterly exhausted.
The room itself was pretty cool. Comfy bed, clean sheets, quiet. Also the proximity to the NYSE was clutch since I had an early morning start there. Without the above quirks and hiccups I would have given it 4 stars. -

So this review is only about the hotel itself, not the restaurant (which we had a horrible experience at).
We checked in extremely early (like 8am) and they of course stated that they did not have a room available for us. We just decided to sit in the lobby as at that hour in the wall street area nothing was really open other than food stands. We were just about to leave at around 10:00 am to begin our dress shopping (bridesmaid dresses) and one of the hotel staff members grabbed us and told us that our room was about to be ready. They upgraded us to a larger king suite complimentary and also gave us a late 2:00pm check out which was amazing :)
The room was gorgeous. Everything was ultra modern and everything looked brand new. They had this cube that spins around and one side is a mirror, the other side is a closet, and another was a desk area. It can spin so it was extremely functional, especially with multiple girls trying to get ready all at once.
The shower/bath area was rather interesting as you can see the bathtub from the bed and it is all glass. The shower is then behind the tub. This is a little awkward because normally if there's a shower and it's all glass it's fine because it fogs up rather quickly so it's not really an issue, however, since the bathtub was before the shower, the steam from the shower pretty much stayed where the shower was. This meant that if anyone took a bath, everyone from the outside could see inside. With multiple girls getting ready this was a little awkward. Luckily, they are my bridesmaids so it wasn't too bad but I couldn't imagine staying here with someone that I wasn't super comfortable with.
They have complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages which is a rarity in this day & age (but hey the little things count). The room itself was very nice. I have stayed at hotels all around the world and I thought this hotel was simple but modern. The photos on yelp do NOT do the rooms justice at all.
We will definitely stay here again as I love the quaint wall street area and this hotel fits in perfect. -

One of the best places to stay close to Financial district. I stayed here some time back when I was visiting city for work.
*Awesome rooms
*It is technologically advanced hotel
*Right from hotel check in to controlling the window panes is all automatic.
*Nice free snacks and freebies
*Really upscale design
Though I felt the front desk staff needs to more friendly. There was nobody outside the door to help me catch a cab. -

Modern, quiet, extremely stylish. Those are a few of the words used to describe Andaz. I didn't know there were hotels right on Wall Street so far downtown. This is THE hotel. Andaz just oozes sleekness & coolness all over and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Can I tell you something? I want my bathroom to look EXACTLY like an Andaz bathroom. All black tiles, an epic sink and a shower that could fit probably 5 people! You can break-dance in it. The soap is made from 100% vegetables and there is definitely an earth-conscious vibe here that you can't avoid and that's a nice thing. Our fridge was stocked with fruit juice, plain & sparkling water, iced tea and Stella Artois!
The interior design is beyond eye catching and it personifies what downtown is all about. I have to stay here again, I just have to...Listed in: Check Yo Self

Annandale, VA
Upon arrival, a host helped me bring my luggage in. They put me on the top floor, as I requested. Some quick bullet points that made me really enjoy this place:
1. Free espresso/lattes/cappuccinos/tea, always.
2. Free sparkling water, bottled water, lightly sweetened tea, dark chocolate, granola bar and vegetable chips in your room, replenished daily.
3. Free wifi
4. Free muffins and orange juice with pulp (not sure if fresh squeezed but I thoroughly enjoyed it before my 1 block walk to work)
5. Close proximity to the water and parks so that you don't have to endure the claustrophobia of FiDi
6. Just a couple blocks away from Stone Street and South Street Seaport
7. Free wine from 6-8pm everyday except Sunday.
8. Free green apples and oranges to eat after having a run next to the water.
9. The room has relatively high ceilings and is well spacious. A large standing shower and a nice tub with a view into the room.
So many free things to materially improve my life quality. Can't ask for more.
The only thing I didn't like was the sink in the room -- it's one of those hippy rectangle shallow sinks that look good but aren't practical. Water splashes everywhere. -

From checking in on an iPad (there is no reception desk), free WiFi, iPod alarm clocks, and fully automated light controls the Andaz Wall Street is a top tech friendly hotel. Add in free wine in the lobby, all you can drink, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and you avoid the need for pre-dinner cocktails.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They also provide for you all you can drink soda, water, juice, and snacks (but don't open the 250ml of Grey Goose it's $32!).
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating and they even have a good restaurant right in the hotel. I would 100% return back here. -

ONE Hard, Rigid Old Mattress + TWO Flimsy Uncomfortable Pillows, THROW IN an 83 Degree Room, Open Window, with Traffic, Honking and Sirens ALL NIGHT LONG = No Sleep and a Very Cranky Girl!
No Pillowtop mattresses here. The floor actually might have been equally as comfortable as the bed. We called down 3 times to complain that the air conditioning did NOT work. They said, the hotel was in winter mode, so no air conditioners were working...best we could do was open the windows...then hear traffic and horns blowing ALL night long! It was the worst night I've ever spent in a Hyatt with zero sleep.
We are Hyatt Diamond members...they gave us extra points in an effort to make amends, but I would NEVER return here and I would not recommend!
Though none of the Hyatts in the city can compare to the old Stanhope, Hyatt 48 Lex or the 5th Avenue Andaz are the most comfortable Hyatts in the city. -

VERY pleasant surprise. I was extremely pleased with the comfortable/king size bed, free WiFi, large bathrooms, complimentary wine, service, etc. The staff was incredibly friendly. The interior of the hotel itself as well as pubs/bars on Pearl St are great. We got this on priceline for an amazing price.

One of the best hotels I've been to. The only real downside as a tourist is how far it is from touristy areas, and event that's debatable.
Though the service isn't ridiculously extravagant like international resorts, it is very professional and prompt - perfect for business travelers.
The room itself was one of the most clean, comfortable, large, functionally impressive hotel rooms I've stayed in (nice living room with a tv, working area / table, then a bedroom area with a tv). There were 4 or 5 large windows spanning the room, with shades that are drawn when you press a button next to your bed. In the room, there's free wifi, free snacks, free drinks (EXCLUDING alcohol, which is free anyway down in the lobby lounge during happy hour).
I rarely ever like the bathrooms in hotels, but the design here was excellent - there's an open shower when you walk in, then a bathtub actually large enough for two inside. Would have loved it if the tv was a little closer though...
Having stayed at 2 Andazs (and 6 Ws) so far, I can now say that I prefer them to SPG's W Hotels.
New York hotel rankings so far:
1. Andaz Wall Street
2. W Times Square
3. Le Parker Meridien
4. The New York Helmsley Hotel
5. W Union Square -

This review is for the bar area.
Three awesome things about this bar:
1) They serve cocktails in wooden baskets...very sleek
2) Bar is open, not separated. It's like you are hanging out in the living room of your very hip and very rich friend.
3) Free snacks...passed.
We'll be back. Next time, we're staying here. -

Great service - everyone on the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
Our bags were stored while we wandered around New York waiting for our room to be ready. When we came back they had our room ready and promptly brought our bags to our room.
The room was set up with a great design sense and flowed well from the curtains that had two levels of shade with a touch of a button and the lighting with different settings to set the mood. The cabinet where you hang your clothes also rotated so that it could be where you wanted it. Also they have an iPod dock to listen to tunes and doubles as your clock/alarm.
They also had wine available at 6 pm with an attentive staff to see if you cared for another glass of wine. Free coffee drinks are available around the clock along with free snacks in the room. I absolutely loved my experience here. We came for the marathon and Andaz helped us relax before and after the run. The shower is awesome and the large tub is great for relaxing and able to watch TV at the same time if you like (not a big TV fan myself). -

Love, love, love this hotel. Stay here once or twice a year since it opened. The initial kinks have been worked out in my opinion. Whenever I stay elsewhere I kick myself for not staying here.
The location is not as bad as some will say. It's kind of nice to be away from the throngs of Midwestern tourists that huddle in large numbers at Times Square. There is plenty to do in this area, and if you're not happy, there is a magical metallic underground transportation device very close by.
Only drawback is I feel I will never be cool enough to look as if I belong in this place. Luckily no one has stopped me yet and forced me into an emergency makeover, but I wouldn't blame them if they did.
Upset at other people realizing how fabulous this place is as prices have started to creep up. I miss the good old days when it was my little secret and I could stay here for ridiculously low prices. Wait a minute--this review isn't helping. Forget I said anything... -
Review from Julia C.
For everyone trying to check in at 7am....
Really???
If you can check in at noon let alone 7am without paying extra, consider yourself blessed by the hotel gods if you are staying in any hotel, in most big cities. I'm not trying to be snarky, it's just you really can't expect otherwise. Minus maybe the Peninsula or another hotel with a 24 hour check-in policy. Unless you pay for it, it just doesn't happen often, even with a request.
Back to the hotel. My friend and I decided to split a room for our weekend in NY and we tried Andaz for the first time. I usually gravitate for something closer to UES (Surrey, Longon, etc.) or maybe, maybe even something like the Grand in SoHo, but apparently it's tough to find double beds when booking kinda last minute, something I experienced for the first time in my life since I usually travel alone or with my husband. But it's fun to share a room with your bff sometimes!
The hotel's "intuitive" check in process is definitely not for people who are in a rush. The idea is that you come in, sit down in the lounge with some free snacks and coffee and relax while people come to you with little handheld devices to check you in. Great in theory but in practice, no one was around to actually see us come in. By the time someone did come, we were getting anxious, both of us being the very anti-relaxed types who need instant gratification. So we took matters into our own hands and went up to the pseudo lobby check in station (??) and moved the process along. The guy was very friendly; in fact, everyone was friendly (with the exception of one waiter at the restaurant; more on that in a bit).
Rooms are fine EXCEPT (and this was huge for us, hence the capitalized 'except' to make sure you don't miss it) the bathroom lighting.....Seriously? Who designed it??? Guys, you're (maybe?) safe. Ladies, forget about doing any crazy makeup in that light. Also, the shower leaks through the door which just did not want to close. Other than that, it was great. Free snacks/non-alcoholic drinks = do not need to run to the CVS downstairs to get water. People come by daily in the morning to replenish the minibar too, so you will always have water. Bigelow & co. shampoos, etc. so you don't need to bring your own because it's actually a good line!
The spa seemed cool but despite our best efforts, we just did not have time for it. The restaurant was definitely the big "wtf" here. If I was just judging the restaurant, it would get a 2. But I am really judging just the hotel here, hence the stars.
So, we decide to grab a quick coffee and croissant at the hotel's restaurant because we have a brunch reservation at Fred's coming up. Just a little something to tide us over. Here is what transpired:
Waiter: Are you ready?
Us: Yes, just two lattes and croissants, please.
Waiter: .......... (long, judgmental silence and I am really not kidding here) Have you ever actually *tried* our brunch (cranky tone)?
Us: Uhhhh...no, but we just want some lattes and croissants please.
Waiter: You know you can get free coffee downstairs, right??
Us: (Incredulously) Yes, we know, but the croissants are not free anyway.
Waiter: Ooook. (He actually said it drawn out like that.)
My friend: Did that just happen??
So yeah. We didn't want a heavy breakfast because we had a brunch in two hours. Also, we are not retarded and fully realize that any restaurant latte is not free and that the downstairs does have free latte (considering how long we waited to check in with our free lattes). Long story summed up, to be judged and questioned by your waiter at 8am when you are tired is just not fun.
Hotel: great overall and quite cheap in pricing; restaurant: needs a second try which we did not have time for. Hopefully, if you guys do try it, you won't get the rude waiter who had almost sealed the fate of the Andaz brunch for us forever haha. -

This is, by far, for the money, the best hotel I have ever stayed at. And since I travel for business, that says a lot.
Sleek, modern, clean, free mini-bar, free wi-fi, free wine and snacks in the evenings, free coffee bar...did I mention the free mini-bar and wine?
Since this hotel is in the financial district, it's quiet at night. Surrounding businesses close early. There are plenty of places open a few blocks away, and an easy walk to find food, and that's if you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurant or bar.
The mini-bar was stocked with Saratoga water, still and sparkling, Terra chips, chocolate, cliff bars, OJ, iced tea, coke, diet coke... The alcohol was not free, but not outrageous either.
All in all, there were only 2 downsides: No Iron/Ironing board in the room, and no coffee maker in the room. Granted, there's a free barista just waiting to make you a drink downstairs, but sometimes you just want to make a cup of coffee wearing only the towel, and sip it while you get dressed. These are only small drawbacks though, and don't deter much from the overwhelming positive experience we had.
I don't think we'll stay anywhere else from now on. -

I was very pleased to get an early check in at Andaz. Many of the larger hotels do not accommodate you this way. Love the modern feel, use of iPad on check-in/check-out and free beverages excluding alcohol. Very quiet section of financial district which is nice. Great value for the size room as well. Comfy bed. Great experience.

I was overly pleases with our experience and so surprised at how busy Wall Street was on a holiday weekend. We headed over to Fulton Market and enjoyed drinks in the sand with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge with our feet in the sand at Beekman's Beer Garden.
Upon our initial arrival into the hotel, I noticed ever aspect of the design to be incredibly thought through. To top it all off the staff was phenomenal and excited about their work. Had a great conversation with Stephanie on the phone prior to arrival. Enjoyed how social everyone was in the lobby, especially Charlie during the evening cocktail hour. I look forward to returning again for next year's US Open to see that lovely staff and another beautiful walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. -

Andaz is a great hotel. I stayed at the Andaz for the first time on a recent visit to New York. I was impressed by the quality of the room and service. The min bar and snacks are all free except for the alcohol. They even offered free wine on several of the nights we were there. Free coffee and cookies are also offered in the morning. The workout facilities were kept very clean and they had state of the art equipment. The treadmills were be far the best ones I have seen.
The only hiccup was that our flight arrived at 5am in the morning and our room was not ready, which is understandable. We decided to explore the city as we waited for out rooms to be ready. They told us that they would give us a call when the room was ready. However, we never received a call. We returned to the hotel past 4pm (the normal check in time) and were told the room was still not ready. After complaining they quickly got one for us. This is the only reason I did not give this place 5 stars.
Overall great rooms, facilities and staff. I would definitely stay here again in the future.Listed in: New York! New York!

Very comfortable, modern, spacious boutique hotel @ a reasonable value.
***Short Review
Visited with my GF on our NY trip of Mar 2011.
Very modern, clean, personable boutique hotel that was built around 2009 - 2010.
Rooms are a lot more spacious that the average NY hotel.
Prices are generally lower priced, ours were approx $310/night,
although we also obtained a special for 3 nights from jettsetter website for $160/night (not sure if there are still specials).
Hotel has great amenities, including large gym, spa, excellent Geneva ipod dock, comfy lobby with free wonderfully prepared drinks & snacks.
Location is great.
It's conveniently located in the relatively quiet (to the rest of NY) Financial district with close access to subway stations.
Some of the room's controls are a bit confusing.
Best to have to the staff show you through the features.
Layout of the rooms are a bit controversial.
There is a wide window that allows you to view from the bedroom, whomever is taking a bath or shower.
This can be awkward if you're sharing the room with say your mom.
***Detailed Review
I very much enjoyed staying at this Hotel. The spacious rooms, modern design, location, and very helpful staff (especially Jessica the concierge) were all a delight.
There are so many clever and well thought out details, it's difficult to detail everything-thing here. The gym is very large and has plenty or free-weights, cardio/weight machines. In our stay, it was also relatively empty every-time we visited.
Rooms here are stylishly and modernly appointed. Ceilings are pretty high. It's very quiet. Sound is muffled well from surrounding rooms. At no point did we hear the TV, music, footsteps from rooms beside or above us. Beds are comfy King size.
The location here is wonderful. If you're not familiar with NY, the Wall Street district is a relative sanctuary away from the more boisterous parts of town, without compromising convenience. It can be still a bit touristy, but there are no crowds to fight and the setting in this part of town is more modern and clean, compared to say mid-town. The only thing I dislike about this part of town is that there are plenty or irresponsible pet owners. Watch where you step!
The staff here are very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We were particularly pleased, after a 'red-eye' flight from Los Angeles, that our room was ready around 10:30-11 AM, vs. the regular 3PM (approximate, or so I'd guess) check-in time.
My only complaints would be some of the impractical design elements of the room. Some of the features, like how to operate the windows, or lighting are well integrated. However, it would help tremendously to have the staff demonstrate how they work, or perhaps have instructions placed at strategic locations.
The large window between the bedroom area and the bath/shower area is also a bit odd. It's not unthinkable that even couples would opt for some privacy at times. If you're staying with buddy or family, this would be just awkward.
The bar is also very comfortable. On weeknights, for better or worse, it's not too crowded, and a great place to relax before retiring for the night. The surrounding area also has some wonderful laid-back wine bars and pubs.
No experience with their Spa and restaurant (they have a Sunday brunch buffet that looks appealing).
In the end, this is a great hotel where I feel the pros outweigh the cons considerably. Despite being owned by one of the larger chains, it has a distinct and charming boutique personality.

The location is right in the heart of wall street, not sure if that is good for tourists but we got a great deal on the place so I can't complain about the location.
Its only a quick walk to the statue of liberty ferries, the bull, and the TKTS ticket booth!
The staff at the hotel are all friendly and always greet you upon entering the hotel. It was a little pain when we tried to check-in early ~7am, I know maybe too early, all the rooms were still occupied and the housekeeping did not come in yet, so we checked in our luggage and they said they would call us.
We came back around 4pm and our room was STILL not ready, that was a little annoying but they fixed it quick and got us a room. It was a 2 queen bed room, pretty big for manhattan standards.
The beds were comfy and the bathroom was huge. The shower was huge as well, but one thing is there is a semi-transparent glass from the sleeping area to the bathroom which scared the girls a little bit, so they turned down the shower light so no one got a free show while they showered!
The hotel and fit/finish on everything was very classy and high end. I would highly reccomend this hotel, only bad thing is its location all the way on the south tip of manhattan. -

I thought staying in NYC, I'd want to stay in the middle of it all - in Times Square. A co-worker had decided to get this hotel and we ended up crashing it for two nights from 5/6 to 5/8. Many of the businesses close early around this hotel taking into consideration it is in the financial district, but that was okay with me. It's more towards the end of NY too but that was fine with me too since I enjoy walking.
I think the rooms itself was moderate, but the best part of it all was definitely the restroom! I enjoyed the fact that the rooms come equipped with compact refrigerators and they put drinks in them for you! The hotel also offers free wi-fi fyi.
The boyfriend and I decided to hit up the breakfast nook they had for guest before leaving. They brew some amazing coffee with the espresso machine, orange juice is freshly squeezed, and they had the most amazing cookies and sweetened walnuts!
I don't think the pictures that are posted on here do the hotel justice, when I find some time I'll be sure to upload some more! -

Ive been meaning to review this place for a long time. We stayed here in March 2010.
THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING! My boyfriend and I arrived one evening during a huge rain storm. We walked from the subway and by the time we walked in the door we were soaked. The moment we entered the door a woman rushed to us to take our bags. She walked us over a comfy couch, offered us wine and let us unwind for a few. A few minutes later she came over and checked us in with a tablet device. She then walked us to our room (carrying all of our bags) and gave us a tour of our room. She showed us how all the fancy switches worked and even described what we were looking at out the window (which was just another building) but still. During the check-in were were upgraded so our room was ultra deluxe. Immediate a great first impression.
A few evenings later we were leaving for the evening and needed to catch a cab. The storm was STILL happening so bundled up and tried to get a cab. Once we told the cab where were going they refused to take and after this happening several times we went inside and asked for advice. The woman at guest services didn't have any great advice, BUT, she went to grab her jacket and attempted to hail us a cab. I mean, this woman was dressed very nice and was willing to get drenched to get us a cab. WOW.
All in all, this hotel really made the vacation for us. Superb on ALL LEVELS. The only downfall is its location. Being gay 20 somethings, Wall St. isn't necessarily the place you want to be. Its DEAD at night. Also, don't stay here with anyone you can't naked in front of. The shower (which was big enough to fit 7 people) has a glass wall that anyone in the room can look into. My boyfriend described it as "sexy". -

Its nice to stay in a "brand" hotel that doesn't have the feeling of a corporate cookie cutter look and vibe. I really enjoyed my stay at Andaz. Slick and clean design, cool bathroom with HUGE shower and great toiletries, comfortable platform bed, and great service! The "free" nonalcoholic beverages and snacks in the room is a nice touch. Despite the previous Yelper's review, I love the pillows; I typically hate hotel pillows.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. I was not able to connect to the hotel's wifi service; they provided a data cord to connect via the phone, at no charge.
I typically stay with family in New York. As much as I love my brother in law and his partner, a posh hotel is something that beckons, for privacy and relaxation. I would come back to the Andaz in a heartbeat! -

Very chic! We spent Christmas weekend here and it was the best gift ever. I was amazed at how quiet the room was, we did hear some sirens and people, but that's a given in NYC. Next time I'll remember to bring a white noise machine. My only complaint would be the bed, it could've used a pillow top mattress pad, a little on the firm side. Otherwise, how could one complain...beautiful clean room, nice toiletries, rain shower, perfect location, free minibar snacks and drinks (except the alcohol - totally understandable), and SUPER friendly staff, who will get you a coffee drink of your choice in the morning along with some complimentary fruit and cookies. Can't wait to go back with my hubbie and puppy. That's right, they're a pet-friendly hotel! :-)

The Andaz (a Hyatt property) is a great hotel on the corner of Wall Street & Water in the Financial District, just a block up from Pier 11.
The hotel itself is pretty modern, which may not suit everyone's tastes, but everyone there is really friendly. Check-in was a breeze - a non-descript staff member will approach you with a tablet computer and check you in, swipe your credit card, and give you your room keys. We were asked if we wanted a drink while they checked us in, so we asked for two coffees - within a couple of minutes, someone came over with a tray with two Americanos, cream and sugar. We were told that there was a free happy hour with snacks and wine from 6-8pm everyday in the lobby.
The room was sleek, but comfortable - 50" HDTV, iPod stereo, shower with rain shower head, safe, mini-bar with free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages and free wireless internet. The european-style bed was comfortable, although some people may prefer more pillows (I'm sure they could be requested). By NYC standards, they are pretty large rooms, complete with a workstation, two chairs, and even cushions on the ledge below the window.
I really can't say enough about this hotel - it took me by surprise. You don't get much for free these days (even if you're already paying good money to stay there), but it's nice to be able to check in, walk into your room, grab a bag of chips and a bottle of green tea and know you didn't just waste another $12 because you're starving.
The M15 bus stop is just across the street - Chinatown is a ten minute bus ride, and the 4-5 is just a few blocks up the street. The dining options aren't particularly great in the area, but there are lots of options 15 minutes away on the subway.
Highly recommended. I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future. -

If Yelp had an area for titles I think I'd title this one "Fine Example of Form Over Function".
I was shocked to look the hotel up on Yelp and see all of the great raving reviews ... seriously our stay must have been an anomaly or since we were with a block of rooms for a wedding, our service was not their norm 5 star service. Oh, where do I begin ...
Upon arriving near the hotel and discovering disappointingly that there is no valet, we phoned the hotel and asked where we should park. The person who answered the phone did not speak very clearly and seemed like they were too busy to answer such a little question. We drove to the first garage she recommended and it did not allow SUV parking. We drove to the second garage and it was so full I thank our lucky stars that the attendant was gracious enough to let us park there.
When entering the hotel you can tell that it is a classy and upscale place. It was NICE! We arrived around 2:30pm and explained to them that two people in our party had a wedding cocktails to get to by 5pm. Since we were only 30 minutes early for check in, we figured it would be no big deal. WRONG! We just asked politely to see what they can do and they said they would, so we took a seat in the lobby. Ten minutes passed and the person at the front desk finally came back to check on us. She said if we waited "5 more minutes" (which I will abbreviate later as "5MM") that she would have at least one room available which was perfect. We waited another 10 or 15 minutes and we were finally given some room keys. Upon riding up in the scary elevator (which I will address later) we opened the hotel room door to discover that someone was obviously staying there!!! Thank God that no one was actually in the room, but this made us seriously question the competency of the staff.
So, we ride the elevator back down to the lobby and explain the situation. They were seriously apologetic about this and we received another request to wait "5MM". We sat around again for much longer than 5 minutes before being told that we would receive a complementary upgrade for all of the trouble to a larger room and that someone would bring the keys to the second room as soon as it was ready. GREAT, but by this time it is past the 3pm check in time, shouldn't our room already be ready?!
We head up in the elevator - maybe it depends which one you ride in, but some shake so much while operating it made me nervous to ride them. Seeing as we were on such a high floor, the stairs weren't an option unfortunately.
When we went into the room we were really pleased with the size and the beauty of the furniture and fixtures in the room. However, let me point out to you where the beauty did not outweigh the function of the items:
The lighting was terrible, beautiful and relaxing, but not useful when trying to get dressed or apply makeup.
The bathroom door was clear and it was the door to the shower/tub combo. There was no dressing area, so I guess the expectation was that you'd get naked and prance across the room to get in the shower (probably fine for most people, but not with your brother & sister).
The door to the toilet closet was also clear but at least frosted. Again, not good with your brother and sister in the room.
The sink was gorgeous, but if you turn it on at any rate above a trickle water splashes out of the basin and all over the counter. Additionally, there was some kind of mold growing between the sink and the counter.
The bed was pretty and went well with the design concept, but it was so uncomfortable. If the sofa had been long enough, I probably would have slept there instead.
So back to the rest of the story ... we hang out in the room for 15 minutes or so and call to see where the keys to the 2nd room are because by this time we're wanting to go get a snack. We're told to wait "5MM". We wait the 5 minutes and then decide we're going to head out and surely the 2nd room will be ready by the time we get back. WRONG! By the time we return it is about 3:30pm and the front desk still has no room ready for us, so we head back up to the 1st room. We hang out until about 4pm and then phone down to the front desk. We're told our room was finally ready and that if we wait "5MM" that someone would be up with the room keys. Great, right? Ummm time goes by and still no room keys. We finally decide that we'll just leave and deal with it later ...
When we ride the elevator back down and arrive in the lobby the initial person who was assisting us is no where to be found, but a poor unfortunate unknowing attendant asked us how our day was. Needless to say by this point, I had lost my mind with the continued "5MM" response and so I told him what had happened. And magically he turns around to the computer, punches a few buttons and wallah room keys!! By this time it's 4:45 - check in is at 3!
This was enough hotel drama to frighten me from ever frequenting this hotel again! -

I love the look of this hotel! But it wasn't really that close to the sites we wanted to see. In the hotel they have complimentary snacks and drinks in the mini frig. Definitely a nice welcome after a long flight in.
The only down side was when we flew in we go in at 7am and they couldn't check us in (which I understand). They had rooms but the rooms were not cleaned yet and told us that after the cleaning ladies cleaned the available rooms at 11am they would have a room for us. They said they would call but never called. So we called them and they said sorry they still didn't have a room for us. We are exhausted after taking the red eye flight in and probably didn't check in til like 4pm because they kept giving our room away when they specifically told us that we would be first to get a room. This was my only complaint.
Other than that the service was good and the people were nice. They even had free wine, cookies, and other drinks available for the guest. I would stay here again. -

Wow.
I travel extensively and stay at a bzillion hotels (even internationally) and this spot just made my top 5.
If you want to impress your significant other and have a romantic evening, make this place your end-of-eve destination.
Boutique yet spacious (oxymoronic) uber-modern rooms, a shower that fits 4 , remote-controlled curtains.....
...and a fridge stocked with goodies that's free...free wine and all kinds of free eats in the lounge...
lots of attractive and helpful reception peeps.
Again. Wow.Listed in: Get Some

Usually I crash on people's couches when I come to New York, but the weekend before Christmas I thought I'd splurge for a wedding I was attending.
Woo hoo, this place is swanky! For under $200, you can really live it up. I could pretend I was a rich mogul living in luxury.
Although there isn't a lot going in in Wall Street, it was a quick ride from the bus terminal, and very close to the subway. I felt safe in the neighborhood.
The rooms are very large for New York standards. Easily fit a king size bed. And the shower, my god, it was almost as a big as my entire bathroom back home. I literally took 4 showers in 2 days because the shower was that nice!
I loved the window seat; looking into people's apartments is a New York past time isn't it? The free snacks and drinks were great. Free wi-fi was reliable. I loved the on staff barista who was there for coffee, tea, espresso, hot chocolate at all time.
I really didn't want to check out of this place.
A few tiny negatives:
I hated the pillows. They were way too squishy and I needed to double them both up to sleep comfortably. I learned later I could have called to change them out for memory foam ones!
The staff were mostly helpful. I had asked how much it might cost for a cab ride to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (which seemed like a pretty famous place). She tried to look it up on her netbook but couldn't find it. Hey guess what, I can use Google Maps too! Nobody there to hail a cab for you, but that is the worst I can say.
I loved it, would recommend it,and can't wait to stay again. -

This was a lovely hotel and worth every penny. I live close by in jersey but I wanted to have a night with my boyfriend in the city, out of all the bars we went to we decided we liked the hotel bar the best! it was very nice and the service was great. The free snacks were a plus and helped us not get cranky before we went to dinner :-) . The bathtub and rain shower were amazing..loved that it had that big window and you could see into the room! so modern so awesome. Also the check in/ check out was so easy and quick..we will def be going back!

So i have stayed here on 2 occasions and wow.
The lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are insane.
First and foremost- i must warn you- if you plan to stay in the King Deluxe (which i totally recommend), please make sure it is with someone that you want to see or wants to see you butt naked. Why do you ask? The only thing between your shower and bathtub and the person on the bed is a glass window, a big one. The door that leads into the shower and bath is also made of glass- there's no hiding!! Thankfully, there is a separate little room where the toilet bowl is, and the door is not too see through.
There is also a nice space to setup your toiletries by the sink. Another word of advice- the way the tiles are in the shower - it's somewhat on a slant so you might want to roll up a towel and keep it outside the shower door to prevent the wood floor from getting soaked.
There is a rotating armoire with a full length mirror on it near the sink with a bathrobe and slippers. There are also, free, yes i said free, snacks, 2 bags of terra chips, an organic chocolate bar and a cliff bar. There are also free non-alcoholic drinks in the mini-fridge. There's a big flat screen tv, a comfortable chair and a window seat. The bed is super comfy and they have blackout shades that are controlled by a button on the wall (i couldn't get over this feature, i played with it for a while =0) ). The lights are also controlled by buttons on the wall- each with a different theme, relax, welcome, etc. There is also a nice clock radio, which has really nice sound and a dock for your i-pod.
The Standard King- which i booked by accident my last stay and decided to upgrade to the Deluxe, is smaller and does not have a bathtub. The window by the shower is also a lot smaller so you have some more privacy. Other than that- it is pretty similar.
The room service: The staff is AWESOME, they are such nice people and they are very, very fast in bringing your order. The food, ehhh, It is a little too complicated for my taste and it's pretty expensive. But... the burger and fries are good, as well as the Belgian Waffle. The Caesar Salad has anchovies, which i found out the hard way because they aren't listed on the menu, so if you hate them as much as i do, ask for it without them.
I did try out the gym, nice new, clean equipment. Free weights, stability balls, cardio machines, some back and chest machines also.
Last but definitely not least- my first stay i asked the front desk what time checkout was, he told me 12 but you can stay until 1. My most recent stay, i asked if we could stay until 1 again- he gave me 2pm, free of charge!! Awesome.
Love, loveeee this place -

Great hotel! Innovative room decor. Love the massive shower and free mini bar. Complimentary cocktail hour is a plus. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating.
Spa offers typical treatments, however is not a luxury spa (no jacuzzi, steam room, shower, etc). Salon services must be made in advance and outside stylists will try to accommodate your beautification needs.
Highly recommend this hotel for those who do business in the financial district or visiting from out of town. -

This place is way too cool for me, but if I have to...
The decor is super chic, from the rooms to the conference areas. And high tech--I needed an orientation on how my room "worked".
The service was spectacular and they had every amenity possible--free snacks, unlimited movies, even departure gifts. Anyone who knows me understands free swag is the way straight to my heart.
One caveat--they need a bigger sign! The hotel is on 5th Avenue across from the New York Public Library...but good luck getting a cab driver to find it!
I would definitely stay here again. Love!
