    Love the Anchor!
Great drinks, they are famous for their 'Watermelons.' Reasonably priced food. Great place for shows, tons of room for sitting or dancing or both. Bathrooms can be an issue (port-a-john, anyone?) but the atmosphere makes up for some of that.
Parking is free in a giant lot (field) and the only scary thing is that it's not lit very well. Go with friends, this won't be a problem.
Because the Anchor is an outdoor venue, it is only open seasonally.

I'd never been to the Anchor before last night when we went for a show and the first thing I thought was... why have I not been here before?  I know it has some sort of 'rough' stigma but for a $20 entrance fee, it seems that any potential trouble makers were weeded out.  People cruised by on their boats to hear the music, we had a nice breeze off the river, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax while having a great time.

They have a nice tiered setup with picnic tables and multiple outdoor bars to get drinks during a show.  Unfortunately, also during a show, they up charge everything.  A $2.75 Sailor Jerry drink (on special all summer) becomes $4.  The Watermelons become $5 (as do cans of Fat Tire).  And the standard Miller Lite, High Life, Coors, etc become $4 a can.  Red Bull, I also found out, is $3 a can.

Food quality was a little under what I expected, overcooked and rushed (even by bar food standards).  Although I probably shouldn't be surprised by that...  I'll look forward to my next show at the Anchor.  But I'll eat beforehand and make sure I bring enough cash to avoid the $3 ATM fee.

Two words - Fish Reuben. One of my favorite sandwiches in this town.
