Review from Brandon V.
Weaverville, CA
Whether you are looking to go fishing or whale watching Anchor Charter Boats is a great company to go with.
I have been both fishing and whale watching many times with Jason on the the Trek II and all my trips have been great. Most of the time I ended up with limits while fishing and even when I didn't it wasn't because of the lack of effort of the crew. Sometimes fishing is just fishing.
While whale watching we always saw whales. On a couple of trips the weather was rough, but Jason did everything he could to get us the best views of the whales as we could get.
I would recommend Anchor Charter Boats to anyone I know that wants to go fishing or whale watching if Fort Bragg. -
Review from J M.
San Francisco, CA
Just wanted to update that I had contacted the owner/captain and he said that the teenagers were actually high school volunteers. A quote from his email to me: " If you have a problem with high school students working on the boat on there spare time then you are one of the reasons the economy is so bad. With your attitude and manner we will not be welcoming you back to our boat and I recommend you stay away from all boats in general. Over and out."
Also, this less than friendly captain/owner was NOT manning the boat that day, but a deckhand was. Here's another quote from the owner: " The captain that day is actually a deckhand working his way to be captain and was in training by an experienced captain. When the ocean conditions are rough the captain is concentrating with the boat and ocean which makes being on the deck and holding peoples hands a little hard."
The captain thinks I "wanted my hand held" for the trip. What I wanted was a safe pleasant trip with a professional staff, and it just couldn't be found with 2 teenagers and a preoccupied captain in stormy, rough seas. Every local in town were warning folks not to go out in that weather.1 Previous Review: Show all »
