This review is for one of the employees by the name of Chris Brown.

Someone rear-ended me 2 months ago so I filed a claim with my insurance, AAA. They gave me a referral list of auto body shops around my work area and I went with the first one they listed off, Anchor Auto Body. Chris Brown called me the same day to schedule a consultation so I went the next day to see him. He was very polite and also very professional. He took his time taking pictures of the damage and thoroughly explained to me which parts of my car were affected by the accident.

I took my car into Anchor Auto Body two weeks after the consultation to get it fixed. They promptly called Hertz Rental Car and had someone pick me up to get a rental. Chris told me that my car would be in their shop for about 7 days or so. He called me 3 days after I gave them my car to tell me that my car would be ready in 5 days instead of 7. I picked up my car in 5 days, all shiney and new-looking because they washed and waxed my car too!

I highly recommend going here to at least get your estimate if you're shopping around. Ask for Chris too! He delivers excellent service.

The insurance company recomended Anchor after I was rear ended while sitting at a stop light.  All seemed well, until I got the estimate of 1200$. I was amazed since all I had was a paint scratch.  They said the bumper needed to be replace.  Since the insurance company was paying I let them go ahead but requested them to give me the old bumper.  I was not surprised to find that they conveniently forgot to save the old bumper and got rid of it.  This is why our insurance rates are so high!  Not only that, I found out a few days later that the brake lights were not reconnected. I'm surprised I didn't get rear ended again.  The final slap in the face came only years later as the paint on the bumper faded to a different color than the rest of the body.

They were very friendly here at anchor, but their estimate was $1300 higher than it needed to be--they insisted that my bumper needed to be replaced, when all it needed was a small repair.  I ended up at Coast Autobody in San Carlos, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs bodywork done.

I am going to be really brief. I think Anchor Auto Body does great work. A friend of mine took her Lexus to Anchor to have some bumper work done and they did an excellent job. On her recommendation I took my BMW there as well.

Unlike some of the other body shops I checked, Anchor actually had business hours that worked for me - they were open at 7 AM and that was a huge help for me given my work schedule. I was in and out with my estimate in 5 minutes. Totally painless.

Anchor managed to finish the work very quickly and the price matched the estimate down to the penny. The price was very reasonable and the work was done in about a day. They also let me leave my rental car at their place, which saved me an extra trip back to Enterprise to drop it off.

I only had a small repair done but I was very pleased with the work. I'd use them again for future work.

(5-star review on behalf of my wife)

The people here are super-nice, and will give you an honest opinion without trying to milk you for your money (which is what those of us who are less auto-mechanically inclined fear the most whenever something needs to be taken care of with our cars, eh?)

A few days ago, my wife had a run-in with the frame of the garage door, resulting in some superficial scratching and lots of white-wall-paint-transferred-onto-dark-car (making the scratches look much worse than they probably really were).  Fearing an exorbitantly expensive repair bill, my wife had to be coerced into seeking quotes from a local body shop (on a side note, my mom actually encouraged me to take the car to a dealer to see what they could do), and having had not-so-pleasant experiences with dealers in the past, I sought out yelp for local shops, and came across this place.

According to my wife, before even being given a quote, Chris Brown offered to give the area a good cleaning/detailing (or whatever the technical term for this kind of job is) prior to assessing the damage.  When the car came out (10 minutes later), those streaks that once screamed, "ugly scratches that came from a wall" now looked like nothing more than a few specks of dust.  You have to really look up close to see any sort of surface scratches  -- one advantage of having a dark-colored car, I suppose.

Anyway, when my wife asked with her concerns about possible rusting or other effects of just leaving the side of the car as-is (namely, if she didn't want to shell out for a new paint job), Chris gave her an honest assessment: the scratches aren't deep enough to really be of that much concern.  On the other hand, if she wanted to, they could sand-down and re-paint (a) half of the rear driver-side door, (b) the panel above the rear wheel, and (c) part of the door frame, but that if she has no problem with the way it looks after just the cleaning, then she's free to leave.

Being on a tight budget, she left.  And was happy not to have to spend a few hundred dollars on a paint job that she now realizes she probably doesn't need (now that all of the white paint has been thoroughly cleaned off of the original scratch).

Good people, I say.

Very professional. and also understand the value of customer service - which is much appreciated. This place probably isn't the cheapest around (they run a pretty nice shop with waiting room and two women working up front - lots of overhead), but most likely the best experience and a good value for the money. Chris is the guy you want to talk to - knowledgeable and friendly.

I dulled the finish of my car while trying to clean of some paint transfer from a scrape against the side of my garage (used a kitchen sponge - bad idea!) . I took it to them, and initially the woman said they might have to repaint the whole panel but she should check with Chris. Chris came out, rubbing solution in hand, and started trying to buff out the micro-scratches I'd put into it. It worked pretty well on the small area, and he said he'd be able to do the whole thing with a buffer in about 15 min., (free of charge). He did a great job - completely cleaning up the mess I'd made. I would definitely recommend at least getting a consult from these guys - if I ever need serious work done I would go back.

I just brought my BMW into Tom at Anchor and they did a great job. The bumper looks brand new. They also kindly shuttled me back and forth to my office, to the airport and dropped off my car at my office. Anchor also cleaned my car inside and out before dropping it off to me. That said, it did cost me a nugget to repair my bumper but they lowered the repair rate from $75 to $65/hour which made me feel better. I think I got a fair deal. Tom is a very nice man too.

Just got my car back earlier tonight. It looks GREAT and they totally detailed it inside and out. If I had known they would detail it inside, I would have taken all my kid's junk out.

Long story, but my Subaru Tribeca was hit by an old man who did not want to go through his insurance, so I got three quotes from Sunnyvale Auto Body shops, all of them recommended by friends. Each shop pretty much told me the same thing and the quotes included the same type of work and parts. It always pays to do your homework. The quotes ranged from 650-717, with Anchor at 650.01.

My husband presented the quotes to the old man who insisted that I use Mathilda Auto which was closed each time I went and no one answered the phone. The old man thought it was a very expensive fix for a small area of damage on my bumper, but luckily the bumper was fine, just needed paint and new bumper guards and a new step pad because apparently they break off or get damaged when removed. The old man even went to Anchor and negotiated with them for an even lower price. Bless their hearts at Anchor, Chris Brown gave him a 30 dollar discount when it was already the lowest quote I had gotten.

They were easy to work with, kept to their 2-3 day time frame and called me as soon as the car was ready. Everyone I encountered was very professional and ready and willing to answer questions. I would definitely recommend them.

Ok guys... please bare with me, because this will be a long review.

Here's my story. I have been yelping for a long time and find the reviews really, really helpful. For someone like me who is not from this area, sometimes can be really challenging to find just what I need without knowing whom I'm going to meet or what I can expect.  I have tried restaurants, salons, spas, bars, stores, etc. etc. and overall have been very satisfied with my selections based on the reviews I read. However, (my bad - I know), never really took the time to give my feed-back to any place until today.

This morning, when I got to my (new) car I was schocked to find out that during the time I parked it last night until this morning someone hit the bumper on the passenger's side and damaged it quite badly leaving without a courtesy note assuming their responsibilities. I drive a company car and all expenses associated with the car are taken care by the company. However, in a period of 3 weeks, the last one being this past Monday (11/19), the windshield and the passenger's front side window have been replaced (both hit by rock's while driving). So, telling my manager that I found my car damaged this morning was going to be a tough sale - sad but true. My first thought was to find a body shop to take the car and find out how much the damage was going to cost me - used yelp and selected 3 shops.

The first stop was in a highly recommended shop. The owner assisted me,  and was very prompt, professional, friendly and after evaluating the damage presented me with 2 estimates, one to repair the bumper ($665.08) and the other to replace it ($813.31).

After finding out the cost (which was way more than what I would like to pay from my own pocket). I went to the second highly recommended shop (being Anchor Auto Body). I was first assisted by the receptionist (very friendly) who asked me to fill out my information and in a matter of less than 5 mins Hector (the person who assisted me) came to check the car and give me an estimate. I told him upfront about all the drama going on and that my goal was to fix the car as CHEAP as possible - it didn't need to be perfect, just enough to make it look presentable. He suggested that ideally the bumper should be replaced and explained and showed me why, which made sense to me. However,  by now this was completely out of question. Eager to help me, Hector promptly told me to wait and asked someone else to come and check out the car. In a matter of 10 mins they did an OUTSTANDING job by heat straightening the bumper, attach it back to the car and my problem was solved by 95%. Of course there are things inside which were damaged and on the outside there are still a few scratches and bumps, which can only be detected by a sharp eye, but I paid $0 - YES you read right (ZERO) and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Hector was very professional, friendly, heard exactly what my immediate needs were and delivered to perfection.

I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. I know my friends will go there if they need this type of service and I will definitely be back when the need arises.

Thank you Hector for the QUALITY of your  SERVICE, EXPERTISE and HELP - you've gained my TRUST!

Just picked up my car.  I'm very satisfied.  I'll write back in a couple week to confirm that everything was properly repaired, but they washed my car before giving it back to me and it looks great.  The staff is really nice and they drove me to work after I dropped off my car.  Manny called me to update me on the status of my car and did a great job explaining what needed to be done.  I felt very well taken care of.  Now, who knows if they ripped me off (I didn't get estimates anywhere else), but I am confident that I wasn't.  I will definitely refer people to Anchor!

This one I owe to Yelp community. I never believed in visiting local auto shops until I visited Anchor Auto body. Very professional and helpful staff.

I brushed my brand new minivan with a pole while taking turn in a narrow driveway and checked Yelp to see if someone can fix it at a reasonable price. Based on reviews by Yelpers, I visited Anchor and Chris Smith was eager to help me. He looked at the minivan and asked can I borrow your key for 10 minutes? In 7 minutes he was back with smile and when I went to see the minivan it was more than 98% fixed. You have to literally inspect that part of minivan with magnifying lense or something to find out the problem. This was done free of cost. Chris also recommended other options when I asked but no pressure. I would certainly recommend Anchor to everyone in my circle.

I needed some repair work peformed on my van after a collision.  I checked three places: Dunn's in Mountain View, Anchor Auto Body in Sunnyvale and M+S in Milpitas.

The price quoted was very close for all three businesses.

Over the years, I've had body work done twice at Dunn's.  The results were pretty good.  On this occasion, they quoted that they had a waiting period of one week to get into their shop.

Instead of going to Dunn's again, I decided to go to Anchor Auto Body.  They had a much shorter waiting period.   I was also able to negotiate a  lower labor rate there.

The quality of the work was good, and the vehicle was completed when promised.    They also washed and vacuumed my car before returning it.

The reason I'm scoring them four stars instead of five is that I had the perception that they could have been a little more aggressive on lowering the price.  After getting three quotes, I was surprised to see how close they were.  Everyone quoted the exact same price for parts, and used industry standard labor rates.  It appeared that they were all using the same industry standard database package for referencing the parts and part pricing.  It was as if there were some industry price fixing taking place.  Aside from the high price of the service, however, everything else was pretty positive.

What?!?!  I don't believe this.  No reviews for Anchor Auto Body?  Well then, let me be the first one.  Never written a review on yelp, but after my recent experience w/ Anchor Auto, they most certainly deserve some credit and exposure.

I was in a little accident so I went up and down Evelyn St looking for a decent body shop to take my 2000 Integra into.  Insurance had taken care of everything already, and I had already deposited the check.  Checked out Fenders and Kurkendall (sp) and both of them seemed a little shady.  Fenders jotted down some estimate on a yellow notepad.  Neither asked me about the specifics of the insurance claim, nor to see the itemized list of what the adjuster had set.

So I walk into Anchor Auto and they were very professional and courteous from the start.  Asked all the right questions, inquired more details about the claim, and explained to me the right/legit process to go about things.  I trusted them.

Chris was my guy.  He's awesome.  Did everything for me.  Contacted the insurance agency, inquired and set up the rental car for me, arranged to have the rental costs go directly from Enterprise to the insurance company, had them pick me up, called the claims agent and the adjuster to resolve any discrepancies in the estimates.  Heck that dang adjuster gave me aftermarket price estimates and Chris called and had them give me factory/stock parts which are better.  Heck, I didn't even know that.  Awesome!  having someone do all the dirty work for you... insurance, rental, reimbursements, fighting for you.  All Chris said I needed to do was pay the check amount from the insurance company, and he'd get the insurance company to pay the difference if there was any internal damages to the car which wasn't seen or estimated.  It's like whoa... what a thorough job.  Would I have gotten the same service elsewhere.  Don't think I would have w/ the first two places I visited.

Work took about a week.  Brought it in on a Wed and got it back the following Tues.  Chris gave me a couple of calls, just to update me on the progress of the car.  Actually, all the ppl who work there are super nice!  And when I got my car back, it was super clean.  Washed and vacummed., and waxed!!!  Woohoo.  It's like a new car again!  Looks great.

All in all... great service.  Legit and honest.  Professional, courteous.  All their employees.  On their website it says they're "Diamond Certified." meaning they're up there in terms of customer satisfaction.  I believe it.  Made my life so much more easier.  So yea... I highly recommend and would definitely take my car back there if any future work is needed.  Thanks Chris!
