Just picked up my car from Anchor Auto body and wow!  It looks great, and everyone at Anchor was professional, and nice too!  My car got hit by someone from State Farm and this was one of their choices.  Since it was so close to my house, I went with them.  I'm impressed.  Couldn't ask for anything more.  Oh!  My car was really dirty wihen I took it in and I got it back detailed.  Thanks Anchor.

Always great customer service and work. Tom is great! He has worked on my car on several occasions. For this particular visit my backseat passenger door/window was crushed. Tom did the estimate and ordered the door. I had to drop my car early before work but Hertz didn't open until 8am. Tom arranged it where Hertz dropped a car off to their location the night before so it can be ready when I get there. When I got there everything was as he said. I dropped off my car and got the rental.

When I came back to get my car a week later, everything looked great. They really made sure that everything was done correctly and I was happy with their work. They also make sure that they clean the interior and exterior of my car. I am very confident that they will always do the job right the first time. Also I didn't have to go all the way to Hertz to return my rental car. Tom told me that since I picked it up at their shop they will arrange the return back to Hertz. That definitely saved me a lot of time.

Thanks again Tom and your great staff for the excellent customer service!

Anchor Auto Body took care of my Lexus RX350.

Everybody I talked to was friendly, helpful and the work done was amazing. There is no question that I will go back to them in case I need anything else done!

They are very professional and their customer care is second to none.

    TOO EXPENSIVE and HORRIBLE JOB!

If I could give this place negative star, I would.

My car got hit in a parking lot by someone, it had a scratch. I called up their insurance and they were going to fix it and take care of the bill. I chose one of their preferred auto body shops, and this came up. I read the reviews on yelp, and it seemed decent. I brought it in to get an estimate. Chris took a look at my car and estimated around 1,000 to fix the scratch. They said they had to re-do the whole bumper, which included the paint and the clear coat. While we were looking at the car, I asked, can I get the other side fixed (it had scratches), they said they can, it wouldn't be covered by the insurance, but I can pay a little extra, and have the clear coat put all over it. I said, fine I'll pay the little extra.

A day or two later, I dropped off the car. A day later, Chris called, and said he couldn't get my car started. It was fairly new, but it had this flooding problem. I thought I would need to get it towed to the dealership to get it fixed and that would cost $500. The dealership wouldn't pay for it, since the warranty ran out, and Anchor Auto Body wouldn't pay for it, since "it's not our fault."  Hello??!! They made it flood and stall. So, my fiance and I read on the web how to fix it, and went over there to try and fix it ourselves. We had to hook up cables to one car and try to jump start it and crank it. One of the worker's at Anchor Body connected the cables, but connected the cables the wrong way!!! He melted the cables and melted the paint off our two cars!!!! Anchor says they would fix both cars. We were without cars, and Anchor didn't even offer to give us a rental.

When I finally picked up my car, almost 2 weeks later, I checked my car, and noticed that the other side, where I was going to pay extra, wasn't fixed!!! I asked Chris, why didn't you fix this side, he said, "insurance wouldn't cover it." I told him, "I was going to pay to get this fixed."  Chris said "Oh yah, you were going to pay for it. Sorry, I forgot. It's too late now."  WTF!! that's all you can say, too late now, after they clear coated my whole bumper. I mean they didn't even call me and even ask me if they would fix the scratches on the other side. Why wouldn't they even offer to fix it, since it was on the same bumper??!!  And all they can say, it's too late now??!!

I looked at the job they did, when they melted the paint off the front bumper, i can still see the dent!!! They made my car worse!! They said they would fix the other car too, that had melted paint, due to melted jumper cables, and did a brush touch up...and it really was literally a brush touch up!! I can still see the melted cables dent!!

THIS PLACE RUINED MY CAR!! Two cars actually!!

I really care for my car, and thought they would do a great job, but they didn't. I really wished I went somewhere else.

    They dropped 2 stars.
After 1 week, I noticed a loose part in my wheel well that they didn't attach properly.  They fixed it on the spot when I brought my car back. However, the loose part seemed to have some damage, they did not offer to replace it.    The damage isn't really visible once it was correctly attached, BUT they still should have offered to replace it.

    To sum up.
    Started strong, finished weak.

I am going to be really brief. I think Anchor Auto Body does great work. A friend of mine took her Lexus to Anchor to have some bumper work done and they did an excellent job. On her recommendation I took my BMW there as well.

Unlike some of the other body shops I checked, Anchor actually had business hours that worked for me - they were open at 7 AM and that was a huge help for me given my work schedule. I was in and out with my estimate in 5 minutes. Totally painless.

Anchor managed to finish the work very quickly and the price matched the estimate down to the penny. The price was very reasonable and the work was done in about a day. They also let me leave my rental car at their place, which saved me an extra trip back to Enterprise to drop it off.

I only had a small repair done but I was very pleased with the work. I'd use them again for future work.

This review is for one of the employees by the name of Chris Brown.

Someone rear-ended me 2 months ago so I filed a claim with my insurance, AAA. They gave me a referral list of auto body shops around my work area and I went with the first one they listed off, Anchor Auto Body. Chris Brown called me the same day to schedule a consultation so I went the next day to see him. He was very polite and also very professional. He took his time taking pictures of the damage and thoroughly explained to me which parts of my car were affected by the accident.

I took my car into Anchor Auto Body two weeks after the consultation to get it fixed. They promptly called Hertz Rental Car and had someone pick me up to get a rental. Chris told me that my car would be in their shop for about 7 days or so. He called me 3 days after I gave them my car to tell me that my car would be ready in 5 days instead of 7. I picked up my car in 5 days, all shiney and new-looking because they washed and waxed my car too!

I highly recommend going here to at least get your estimate if you're shopping around. Ask for Chris too! He delivers excellent service.

A couple years ago I was rear-ended on Lawrence Expressway by a nitwit on his cell phone.  After listening to him prattle on about how the damage was minor (uh, no, bumpers aren't supposed to hang loosely from the body), I got his insurance information, which was with AAA.  After calling to report the accident to AAA, they referred me to a few body shops, including Anchor.  I chose this place mainly because I liked the name.

The gentleman I dealt with was Manny Maseda, General Manager.  He quickly assessed the damage, identifying additional minor damage that was hidden, and provided both a cost and time estimate.  Of course, since the repairs were going to be on nitwit's insurance dime, I didn't care.

Before we had even finished signing the work papers, there was a shuttle driver from Hertz waiting to take me to their lot for my rental car.  Throughout the repair period, Manny kept me informed of the progress, and the work was done ahead of schedule.  The workmanship was excellent, and we haven't had any problems.

Manny was great.  I hope he's still there.  Ask for him if you have auto body repair needs.

I was generally very happy with the service here at Anchor. I had a smashed rear window from someone taking a laptop, and was given a quote by Anchor for around $300. There were two different part numbers for replacing the glass, and Tom the owner was nice enough to show me his computer database that listed the two parts and their prices, which I appreciated.

I did want to note here, that as always seems to happen with car repair, I received a call the day I was supposed to pickup my car that they found out an additional part needed replacing (the window regulator that runs ~$90) and the costs would be higher than the estimate. I think this was legitimate, but figured I'd add to the written record here incase others observe a pattern.

I needed some repair work peformed on my van after a collision.  I checked three places: Dunn's in Mountain View, Anchor Auto Body in Sunnyvale and M+S in Milpitas.

The price quoted was very close for all three businesses.

Over the years, I've had body work done twice at Dunn's.  The results were pretty good.  On this occasion, they quoted that they had a waiting period of one week to get into their shop.

Instead of going to Dunn's again, I decided to go to Anchor Auto Body.  They had a much shorter waiting period.   I was also able to negotiate a  lower labor rate there.

The quality of the work was good, and the vehicle was completed when promised.    They also washed and vacuumed my car before returning it.

The reason I'm scoring them four stars instead of five is that I had the perception that they could have been a little more aggressive on lowering the price.  After getting three quotes, I was surprised to see how close they were.  Everyone quoted the exact same price for parts, and used industry standard labor rates.  It appeared that they were all using the same industry standard database package for referencing the parts and part pricing.  It was as if there were some industry price fixing taking place.  Aside from the high price of the service, however, everything else was pretty positive.

I have been a regular customer of anchor auto for the last three years.  Their attention to  detail is impeccable.  I have never once had reason to not like their work.   Their work is technically sound but what  sets them apart is the great customer service.

    I had at various times a 2006 BMW and a 2009 audi fixed here.  A first-class experience every-time.

What i love best is that when you get your car back you get a cute little lifesaver attached to the thank you note. That's attention to detail!

They were very friendly here at anchor, but their estimate was $1300 higher than it needed to be--they insisted that my bumper needed to be replaced, when all it needed was a small repair.  I ended up at Coast Autobody in San Carlos, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs bodywork done.

Just picked up my car.  I'm very satisfied.  I'll write back in a couple week to confirm that everything was properly repaired, but they washed my car before giving it back to me and it looks great.  The staff is really nice and they drove me to work after I dropped off my car.  Manny called me to update me on the status of my car and did a great job explaining what needed to be done.  I felt very well taken care of.  Now, who knows if they ripped me off (I didn't get estimates anywhere else), but I am confident that I wasn't.  I will definitely refer people to Anchor!

The insurance company recomended Anchor after I was rear ended while sitting at a stop light.  All seemed well, until I got the estimate of 1200$. I was amazed since all I had was a paint scratch.  They said the bumper needed to be replace.  Since the insurance company was paying I let them go ahead but requested them to give me the old bumper.  I was not surprised to find that they conveniently forgot to save the old bumper and got rid of it.  This is why our insurance rates are so high!  Not only that, I found out a few days later that the brake lights were not reconnected. I'm surprised I didn't get rear ended again.  The final slap in the face came only years later as the paint on the bumper faded to a different color than the rest of the body.

Ok guys... please bare with me, because this will be a long review.

Here's my story. I have been yelping for a long time and find the reviews really, really helpful. For someone like me who is not from this area, sometimes can be really challenging to find just what I need without knowing whom I'm going to meet or what I can expect.  I have tried restaurants, salons, spas, bars, stores, etc. etc. and overall have been very satisfied with my selections based on the reviews I read. However, (my bad - I know), never really took the time to give my feed-back to any place until today.

This morning, when I got to my (new) car I was schocked to find out that during the time I parked it last night until this morning someone hit the bumper on the passenger's side and damaged it quite badly leaving without a courtesy note assuming their responsibilities. I drive a company car and all expenses associated with the car are taken care by the company. However, in a period of 3 weeks, the last one being this past Monday (11/19), the windshield and the passenger's front side window have been replaced (both hit by rock's while driving). So, telling my manager that I found my car damaged this morning was going to be a tough sale - sad but true. My first thought was to find a body shop to take the car and find out how much the damage was going to cost me - used yelp and selected 3 shops.

The first stop was in a highly recommended shop. The owner assisted me,  and was very prompt, professional, friendly and after evaluating the damage presented me with 2 estimates, one to repair the bumper ($665.08) and the other to replace it ($813.31).

After finding out the cost (which was way more than what I would like to pay from my own pocket). I went to the second highly recommended shop (being Anchor Auto Body). I was first assisted by the receptionist (very friendly) who asked me to fill out my information and in a matter of less than 5 mins Hector (the person who assisted me) came to check the car and give me an estimate. I told him upfront about all the drama going on and that my goal was to fix the car as CHEAP as possible - it didn't need to be perfect, just enough to make it look presentable. He suggested that ideally the bumper should be replaced and explained and showed me why, which made sense to me. However,  by now this was completely out of question. Eager to help me, Hector promptly told me to wait and asked someone else to come and check out the car. In a matter of 10 mins they did an OUTSTANDING job by heat straightening the bumper, attach it back to the car and my problem was solved by 95%. Of course there are things inside which were damaged and on the outside there are still a few scratches and bumps, which can only be detected by a sharp eye, but I paid $0 - YES you read right (ZERO) and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Hector was very professional, friendly, heard exactly what my immediate needs were and delivered to perfection.

I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. I know my friends will go there if they need this type of service and I will definitely be back when the need arises.

Thank you Hector for the QUALITY of your  SERVICE, EXPERTISE and HELP - you've gained my TRUST!

In 2001 I took my car in to Anchor Auto Body to get an estimate for collision repairs, to be covered by insurance.  Some significant and obvious items were left off the estimate, including the aluminum hood -- which was visibly bowed as well as crumpled at the front.  The man doing the estimate argued that the hood only looked bowed because it wasn't closed.  I took the car to another shop who went over the car with an independent adjustor and came up with a quote that included many more damaged parts and came to an amount that was about 2.5 times what Anchor had estimated.  The actual repair cost slightly more than that because even the second shop had missed seeing some of the damage during the estimate.

I don't know what motivated the Anchor estimator to give me such a low-ball estimate or argue that the bent hood didn't need to go on the estimate, but the end result is that I do not trust them to perform the work without cutting corners, or to charge me a fair amount for their work.

This one I owe to Yelp community. I never believed in visiting local auto shops until I visited Anchor Auto body. Very professional and helpful staff.

I brushed my brand new minivan with a pole while taking turn in a narrow driveway and checked Yelp to see if someone can fix it at a reasonable price. Based on reviews by Yelpers, I visited Anchor and Chris Smith was eager to help me. He looked at the minivan and asked can I borrow your key for 10 minutes? In 7 minutes he was back with smile and when I went to see the minivan it was more than 98% fixed. You have to literally inspect that part of minivan with magnifying lense or something to find out the problem. This was done free of cost. Chris also recommended other options when I asked but no pressure. I would certainly recommend Anchor to everyone in my circle.

Just got back from the shop.  I can say my first experience was great.  I'd go back.

My insurance company referred me to them after my driver's side mirror got smashed by flying debris while driving down the highway.   I was so upset since the car was only 6 months new.  At least the repair process was smooth and easy.

Everyone at the shop was courteous and professional, including George, who was my rep.  He was friendly and accommodating, even had my car washed after the repair was finished.

The only reason I left off the last star was because I had to call to find out whether my part was in.

Also a small perk- their waiting area.  It's quaint and clean, with magazines, internet, t.v., and drinks.

I just brought my BMW into Tom at Anchor and they did a great job. The bumper looks brand new. They also kindly shuttled me back and forth to my office, to the airport and dropped off my car at my office. Anchor also cleaned my car inside and out before dropping it off to me. That said, it did cost me a nugget to repair my bumper but they lowered the repair rate from $75 to $65/hour which made me feel better. I think I got a fair deal. Tom is a very nice man too.

Someone backed into the passenger door on my car, so I took it to Anchor for the repair.  The estimate was clear, and they were very friendly.  I was able to get the car into the shop pretty quickly, and had it back in about a week.  I was very happy with the quality of the work.  It was also a seamless experience for me.  The other party had AAA, and I think that Anchor is one of their preferred shops, so there was no problem with the estimate, payment, etc.

this place IS as good as it gets.

im so happy AAA gave me the choice to work with them

not only was the customer service above and beyond and stupendous, but the work was also awesome. they were helpful and reassuring. Someone vandalized my car  and they repainted my car so well. this was august or september of last year. i dont really remember the exact date. the reason i am writing another review, is because i gave my coworker a ride and as we were walking up to the car she was like OMG did you get a new car. thats how wonderful they made it look and the job still looks good as new MONTHS later. im so proud of this shop.

It is so rare that you can rave about the service and care an auto body shop provides.  A++++.

I damaged my car on a Saturday afternoon and no shop was open at that time, somehow, my insurance line patched me through to Anchor Auto Body and not only did they come out after they were closed to tow my car, they drove me home, and then figured out how to fix my car so I could use for rest of weekend, before bringing it back for some major body work.

The quality of the work was superb and they worked smoothly with my car insurance, I had to do almost nothing.  In past, when I took my car into auto body shops, they would take 2+ weeks (Royal Auto Body in Santa Clara for example) to fix. These guys fast tracked everything and *they called me* with updates versus me needing to chase them down.

Convenient arrangement with Enterprise Rent A Car in Sunnyvale as well.

    Truly, they provided platinum service.

Just got my car back earlier tonight. It looks GREAT and they totally detailed it inside and out. If I had known they would detail it inside, I would have taken all my kid's junk out.

Long story, but my Subaru Tribeca was hit by an old man who did not want to go through his insurance, so I got three quotes from Sunnyvale Auto Body shops, all of them recommended by friends. Each shop pretty much told me the same thing and the quotes included the same type of work and parts. It always pays to do your homework. The quotes ranged from 650-717, with Anchor at 650.01.

My husband presented the quotes to the old man who insisted that I use Mathilda Auto which was closed each time I went and no one answered the phone. The old man thought it was a very expensive fix for a small area of damage on my bumper, but luckily the bumper was fine, just needed paint and new bumper guards and a new step pad because apparently they break off or get damaged when removed. The old man even went to Anchor and negotiated with them for an even lower price. Bless their hearts at Anchor, Chris Brown gave him a 30 dollar discount when it was already the lowest quote I had gotten.

They were easy to work with, kept to their 2-3 day time frame and called me as soon as the car was ready. Everyone I encountered was very professional and ready and willing to answer questions. I would definitely recommend them.

Tom and Betsy (Owners) and their staff are second to none in the auto body business. The results speak for themselves. I have taken two vehicles to them for collision repair and I have referred my co-workers there as well. In turn, they have referred others. For those unfortunate enough to need bodywork, rest assured, you will be well taken care of. You can also elect to monitor your vehicles' step-by-step repair via online pictures from their website. They are a Diamond Certified shop and deserve the designation as such. Great job. I'd love to say I will be back, but that's a catch-22...
